Awww that poor baby. I sure hopes she gets better. We have all been there.
Love the names.

Thanks, she's much happier today :)

Well I'll show some of the past couple of weeks knitting since I don't have sewing to show (I actually do have stuff cut out but that is as far as it went)

I hand dyed the wool using cake gels :) they tie up around the ankle and look gorgeous on. I haven't got a pic in photobucket of them being worn - I do in flickr but I don't know how to post from flickr to here :)

I've done more just need to hunt out the pics

I love how everyone names their babies...

Delaney is a good Irish last name that I loved. DH is English so I had to be careful broaching the subject of Irish names, for example I LOVE Declan for a boy, but since my kids will hold dual citizenship, having a Declan would get him caught up in airports as a potential IRA member. :) Or so DH claims.

Delaney's middle name is Sullivan, my maiden name, because someone had to carry on the name. If Delaney had been a boy she would have been Ian James Sullivan followed by our last name.

We're talking about another baby, I'm still not convinced, delivery was tough for me and it took me a long time to recover. But we've been throwing around the name Samuel James Sullivan Our last name. Samuel was my MIL's father, who was quite a character, he was a very vibrant personality. James is one of those names that happens in both families that we'd have to pass on, and I need a boy to carry on my maiden name. Good thing it's not unusual for English kids to carry more than one middle name, I wish we had given Delaney an second middle name, I suppose we still could...

I just bought Carla's new pattern and my Enchanted sheets just showed up today. I can't wait to get back at the machine and get going on some outfits going.

I hope I can shake this flu Delaney shared quickly, I'm just so achy right now, I think we're taking a nap today. I haven't told her yet, I'll wait on that one. :)

Well I'm still trying to "dig out" from the "sickness"- So the dishwasher was run......more than once- I did some laundry- including washing the easter outfits fabric!! At least I am staying caught up in my "reading" :rotfl2:

I just wanted to say I LOST 2.5 lbs. this week Could be from being sick but I'll take what I can get :lmao:

And Heather- My sewing grammy has the middle name Marie same as me so she already got a "shout out" with the name game.

I love all the pictures and great job on all the outfits they are beautiful :lovestruc

And WELCOME to all our new friends!! :flower3:

THIS has been a morning at our house!
My kids are not allowed to eat in our front room...or in any room other than the kitchen for that matter.
Yet they don't think I'll spy the POP tart crumbs, some of which have strawberry cling-ons, all over the couch and carpet!!!!
They blame each other, yet clearly have POP tart remnants all over their mouths :confused3
WHO buys POP tarts for their kids? Why not just feed them cake and cookies with a side of Flintstone's vitamins?
I didn't buy them, I tell you what. The other parent, who lives in our house who gives them Doritos and Mtn. Dew when I'm away for dinner, DID! :headache:

Couldn't find homework, didn't brush their teeth good enough (I check), whining all around.

But! Their gone now, and I am about to take Norah to "Overpriced Preschool" so I can sit and sew in peace. :cloud9:

 for you! Hope your day gets better!

OH, I just ordered my Disney tickets!!!!!!! WOOHOOOOOOO, I am so excited. My Disney date is fast approaching................... :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

LUCKYYYYYY!

I've been in and out of the thread and just catching up - I've been looking after Miss Em who decided to try and fly - off the dining table onto the wooden floor resulting with a visit to the dr and us having to monitor her. Oh and the biggest bump also known as her extra head. She's bruised and battered and feeling quite sore - I forget how much your life changes when they learn to climb

Thanks, she's much happier today :)

That's really cute- Love the decorative stitch. Does it have an elastic waist band?

I don't know who else bought Carla's new pattern today, but the temptation was too great to resist.;)

Here is my adaptation of her new pattern. This is the halter version. I tried to "artsify" my photos a bit. Albeit my redneck version!:rotfl:

I need to work on my focusing, and my lighting!
Leighanna had just got out of the bathtub, and it was past her bedtime, so I just shot these quickly.

Great pictures and outfit! Love that fabric. I haven't bought the pattern yet, but I do have it in my wish list.

I started getting really excited when it went under 30. Until I realized how much I have left to do before I go:eek: :scared1:

I can totally relate to this!!! We are at what, 57 days out now? It's about the time I go into panic mode!

DH just informed me yesterday that I had 99 days to sew for our Disney trip, so I better get busy.

307263425.jpg

This was a set I made a while ago, and finally added the Mickey head today. Sadly you can't really see it in the pictures. I spent the afternoon, running errands and watching Ireland at gymnastics...
Hopefull tomorrow I will get some sewing done...

That is a beautiful set...and your dd looked so happy in it!

Here is what I have been working on for the last few weeks. It's DD's Easter dress. She picked out almost all the fabrics and chose a design to CASE from :wizard: She loves it and I'm pretty happy with the results too. Thank goodness for my ruffler or I may have thrown in the towel on that skirt.

Her giving me a cheesy smile

Love it, especially the twirl.

Hey everyone, Sorry I wasn't around yesterday, but I threw my back out lifting a laundry basket. I am trying to prove to Dh that this means that I shouldn't do laundry anymore, and should hire someone. :rotfl: (he's not allowed after he screwed up five loads of laundry).

Sorry about your back...hope you feel better soon!

my*2*angels- love the whipped up skirt.

Wow..30 minutes! The skirt looks great, and I really like the decorative stitches on the bias tape.

Thanks everyone! I really like the way it looks on her! And it does have an elastic waistband! It is basically a little circle skirt, but I really like that there was NO gathering!LOL You just attach the bottom to the waistband and the put in elastic! VERY simple!

Hi!

All your designes are lovely! I don't have a litle girl to sew for and my nieces are all grown. I miss the days of sewing for them.

The only sewing in my near future is a brides maid dress for me to wear in my nieces wedding. Tiome to dig out the sewing machine.

I love the outfits for wearing to Disney! I'm afraid my hubby and 2 boys would not go for it much!

Keep up the wonderful sewing I'm enjoying looking at everyones projects!

That is so cute. I'm glad DD didnt see that one. She picked out the same material for her Easter dress.

HOLY Twirl Factor! I lover her smile!
I agree, thank goodness for the ruffler!

I have a little of that egg fabric too. It's cute!
Finishing touches on several items to be posted later.

This is so cute! Love the twirl!

That is gorgeous ,and twirl factor i rate it about a million trillion, better be careful she may twirl once and off she goes:laughing: what pattern did you use for this?

Love it, especially the twirl.

Thanks so much everyone!

Misty - I didn't really use a pattern for this. I used Lisa and Tom's instructions for the twirl skirt and I have a bodice pattern that I made a while ago. It is super simple, just time consuming. The peasant top is CarlaC's pattern from YCMT. Oh, and she did manage to twirl herself all around the kitchen! :lovestruc

Well, you should be taking it easy and being pampered today seeing as it appears that it's your birthday and all... :rolleyes1

Happy Birthday! :bday: party:

So I've given in -- DD8 wants to buy a new Belle dress and she wants the red grand ball one. Hello $85! I think not. So I'm off to Joanne's to price fabric. The red velor and white brocade are going to cost a fortune, but thank goodness for coupons! I think I'll treat the bottom like a sundress - because I have a pattern - and the top like a peasant top - again pattern.

Last time we went I made the yellow Belle dress with no pattern and used white construction paper to make my own pattern.

So wish me luck! Oh, did I mention this will be a surprise, so I can only work on it when both girls are at school.

Looking for some ideas for Ariel..I did the scale skirt last time, so I'm looking for something else. Any ideas?

Ohh, good luck! Those princess gowns scare me! Sounds like you have a very good plan, though. What are you wanting for the Ariel? Something mermaidish again??

OH, I just ordered my Disney tickets!!!!!!! WOOHOOOOOOO, I am so excited. My Disney date is fast approaching................... :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

I'm glad the baby is feeling better! Your knitting is wonderful! Those little shoes are just beyond cute! :lovestruc

LOST 2.5 lbs. this week

Congratulations! Feel better!

I am so jealous about the knitting!! I use to knit and it's so much fun! However I can't knit anymore because my carpal tunnel is so bad. Your sweater is lovely!!

DD8 just came home upset because the kids at school loved her outfit and when she told them her mom made it they said she was lying. The poor thing was laughed at about lying, when she was telling the truth.

Here are some pictures of the peter pan outfit. can I just start by saying I hate it...LOL. The skirt is okay, but no matter what I did, I couldn't make a top short enough so you can see the appliques. I wound up making two tops. I used the laguna skirt pattern for the back of the first top. It was so hard to make, and then when she tried it on, it was WAY too long for that skirt...GRRRRRRR!!!!!!
So I made a second top. A white halter...it's okay...but not what I really wanted to make. So anyway here it is...
oh yeah, I got my bug's life, Marie, Mickey Sailor, Savannah Safari, and Moo Cow fabric today!!! YEA!!!

Okay, now off to catch up!

You skirt is adorable. I am looking for something to make my oldest DD Leanne. She is 10 and we need modest skirts for her to wear to church in the summer. I am soooo tiered of the super short shorts and skirts!

I will also add my baby naming story since I had so much fun reading all of yours.

DD Leanne was adopted when she was 8. She really wanted to change her name to something "beautiful", although we thought her name was already beautiful. For a few days we called her something different. She choose Ella, Lola, Maddy, Michelle (my middle name). It was so hard to remember to call her by her "new" name and half the time I did she would not answer:rotfl: It was so cute. After 4 days she decided that she didn't want to change her name because it was way to hard. We compromised and changed her middle name to Michelle and she was thrilled when the judge declared she was now Leanne Michelle ........

DS Cameron was adopted at 7 and his name was spelled Camron with his birth fathers name as his middle name. We changed his name to Cameron Craig in honor of my father and both of my brothers (they all share the middle name Craig). Cameron is thrilled to share his name with his beloved uncle Steve.

DS Justin came to us at 2 with the name Justin Tyme (thats right Just in time) :confused3 When the caseworker told us that I said "are you sure?"... indeed she was! We changed his name to Justin Edward after my husband and father-in-law. He had to be named after his daddy because as crazy as it sounds Justin looks exactly like my husband as a boy. From the blond (almost white) hair to the blue eyes as big as puddles. It is amazing.

DD Katie came to us at two days old. She was named Katelend by her birth mother. She was foster to adopt at first so we had to keep her name. We called her Katie from the moment we laid eyes on her. Through all of years "trying" for a baby I dreamed of having a baby girl named Katie. I would picture her to have blond hair and blue eye's and just so beautiful. Well- Katie is the polar opposite of the blond hair and blue eyes, but she is the most beautiful baby I have laid eyes on :lovestruc When we finalized her adoption at the ageof 18 months we changed her name to Kathryn Dawn. We thought Kathryn was a strong beautiful name that she would be proud of when she was an adult and Dawn after my dear sister in law who was in ICU when Katie came home and passed away when she was 4 months old. She wanted us to have a baby almost as much as we did and I am sure she had a hand in Katie's adoption. There were several very scary time that the county was going to have to move her to be adopted by family members. It was a scary time, but it all worked out for the best and we are a forever family.

We are in the process of adopting a baby from Vietnam. However we are so far down on the list we have not started or dossier yet. In September adoptions from Vietnam may be closed down for an indefinite amount of time. Please pray that the US and Vietnam can come to some sort of agreement so adoptions can continue.

Our new son or daughter with be called either Samuel (because I asked of god) or Abigail because I think Katie and Abby sound so cute together:) I am corny like that!

Ohhh... Utahmom I wanted to say you are not alone today. Katie threw 4 eggs and broke them on my dining room rug. My brand new dining room rug! And the eggs were organic and expensive to make it better :) While my other children watched her. Where was I??? It starts with a D... :rolleyes1

Cute pants! How about a peasant top to go with them? Georgia sure does seem to like them!

That's my favorite book too! I loved the name Scout until Scout Willis too. I don't know if my 3rd is a boy or a girl but I am considering Harper if it is a girl although my husband probably won't go for it but I like it! Two years ago for my birthday my parents and Dh bought me a signed copy of TKAM. I treasure it! We are terrible with names too. Both of my girls (Grace and Claire) had to wait about 6 hours before they were named and I changed the spelling of Claire's middle name afterwards (from Isabelle to Isabel). Glad to know other people have problems with names too!

Harper is my Dad's middle name. It's supposed to be a family name, but he's the only one i know with it.

Kirsta is always called by the wrong name. But it's our fault. We pronounce it Kearsta. When going through the baby book, Kira, Kirsta.... well, after chosing it, we found out it's really pronounced Kersta. But we like it as we chose it.

THIS has been a morning at our house!
My kids are not allowed to eat in our front room...or in any room other than the kitchen for that matter.

Sorry you are having such a rough day! I hope it got better.
When we were coming up with Megan's name DH's father suggested a name that I was willing to consider... until my DH told me it was his dad's ex-wife's name
:rotfl2:

OH, I just ordered my Disney tickets!!!!!!! WOOHOOOOOOO, I am so excited. My Disney date is fast approaching...................

OOOh, that reminds me, I need to do that too!!! I just reserved our hotel for the night before we fly out today too. I was giddy!!!!

Thanks Tom... I will have to go check these out. I actually found a free download program that has a few, and combines pictures..It's really neat! (for lack of a better term)
What free download did you get?

I thought I would throw out how we named Leighanna, Leighanna story! Geez, that sounded redundant!

My wife's grandmother was named Roseanna. She was very much like a grandmother to me too.:lovestruc She prayed that someday she would have a great grandchild to spoil from us one day.
Well, she didn't make it to see Leighanna, but we knew she had a role up in Heaven to get her to us.

Both my middle name and my wife's middle name is Lee. Also, Lee is an often used middle name in my family as well as my wife's.

So we used a different spelling of Lee. Leigh, broke up Grandma's name, Anna, and used Rose as her middle name.

So Leighanna Rose was named!princess:
Aww thank you for sharing this!!! It made me cry!

Oh, my MIL died just before I got pregnant with Norah so we also say she had a hand in sending her to us...since we were NOT trying to get pregnant. What a nice surprise!

They passed in heaven...one leaving and one returning :cloud9:
 That is beautiful

I love the stories as to how you all came up with your childrens names. Mine are kind of boring for the most part.
PG #1 DS #1 is Tyler Eric, Tyler because we like it and Eric after Eric Lindross the hockey player.

pg #2 was an angel baby that we do know know the gender, I call the baby Jorden.

PG#3DD#1 Emily Tricia, again.. Emily cause we like it and Tricia after my DHs mom, she is Patricia and my SIL stole ( I mean got to use it first) that one so we just shortened it.

PG#4DS#2 is William Francis Henry, we knew we wanted him to be named William after my dad, since my dad died 2 months before we found out I was pg with William, and then my dh also wanted Henry since his dad died when I was 2 1/2 months pg with him. Well when William was stillborn, I wanted my dads full name, this is why he has 3 names. (I miss you baby boy)

PG#This brings us to DD#2 Hannah Faith!!!! oh many reasons for her name. We used Williams middle initials to honor him. I am so happy we could do that. And also because in the bible Hannah prayed for a child, she had Faith that the Lord would give her a child.
I love your names and their stories too. We didn't really know if Gavin was a boy or girl either, but in my heart I believe he was a boy.

I REALLY REALLY REALLY love this!!!! Did you use a pattern? I'm thinking of making something like this for Arminda. She doesn't do well with a lot of extra bulk around the waist, so I think this would be really cute for her. I look at that fabric everytime I go to the store, and I keep trying to justify buying it. It is so beautiful!

I just wanted to say I LOST 2.5 lbs. this week Could be from being sick but I'll take what I can get :lmao:
YEAH FOR YOU!!!! Not about being sick, but about the weight loss!!!

I just maintained this week. I have made a commitment to myself that I WILL do better this week! Last week was very very stressful, and I coped by eating just about everything in sight!

Awww, that was like an adoption story too! Thanks for sharing, and I will be sending prayers your way.
