And, have I ever mentioned that my sister, Heather was named after my Dad's ex-girlfriend? :rotfl:

Ooooh, that's the story I want to hear!

Kidding, I like all the baby name stories. Ours are boring. I made a list of names I liked and DH vetoed them all but one. Both times. It was easy peasy!

Jacob's middle name is his father's name (Thomas) and Megan's was my first choice (Grace) but stubborn DH wouldn't agree. My dad used to say to me every night, say goodnight Gracie, and I would dutifully reply, goodnight Gracie! He loved George and Gracie Allen. That's it, not very exciting.

And, have I ever mentioned that my sister, Heather was named after my Dad's ex-girlfriend? :rotfl:

That is very funny, because every time we started thinking of girl names, DH kept coming up with Rachel, Robin, and Raquel, I said "didn't you date all three of those girls?" (he did). I pretty much ignored most of his suggestions

Ok, then there is my Lyddy. My little suprise baby! We first thought about calling her Skye. But, then my Mom told me that she had seen a little girl at McDonald's named Lydia, and she thought it went really well with the name Arminda. I'll be honest and tell you guys, I wasn't completely sold on the name at first. But, then I found out that it was my Dad's Grandma's name too, and I really started loving it. So, I suggested it to Brian, who said no. (He's such a spoil sport!) Then, a few days later, I brought it up again, and sweetened the deal by adding on the middle name Rose (his Mom's name). And that is how Lydia Rose got her most beautiful name! We didn't really pick out a boy's name with her either. Although, I guess if it came down to it, we would have went with Landon, which we had talked about.

And, have I ever mentioned that my sister, Heather was named after my Dad's ex-girlfriend? :rotfl:

I love the name Skye, wanted to name my daughter Skye, but dh hated it. I liked the name Carly, too. But, at the time I watched General HOspital all the time, and he said no way was he naming his child after a soap opera character.:rotfl: :rotfl:

We picked both our girls names just because we liked them. No reason really, we just liked them.

Hey I see that Corey is mighty talented...that is a GREAT shot!!! I think you BEST get that boy a good digital SLR BEFORE YOUR TRIP!!! Just think of all the wonderful shots he can take of the rest of you!!!! :goodvibes
He would totally go for that, but I think the one he wants is a tad bit out of my price range! I will tell him what you said about his pictures though!

Your welcome, I really appreciate all of you and Heather's efforts! That is a cool pic that Corey took!

Okay, Sawyer is a little older than Rylie, her bday isn't until November! Then she will hit the "terrible twos" however I swear she is already in them!:rotfl: How cute that she calls them "bookends"!
Thanks!
I really think Corey has some talent with photography, of course, I am a little biased I suppose!
Your Rylie is such a cutie!!!
My Mom loves her grandkids! She is the grandma I always dreamed of having!

1.)Aw, she would be happy to. Poor Lydia can't learn in the snow! Hurry down here where it's warm. Very cool ice pic by Corey though.

2.)I do not know if they sell Jonas Brothers, I really don't go to Wal Mart that often. Right now I am cutting up a Cinderella pillowcase trying to make a slightly less perfect version of Tom's aline dress that has that big Tink on it. We'll see how that goes. At least if I mess up, there's the other side!

3.)Hey, I wanted to tell you thanks for the bookmarks too. I peruse them weekly at least looking for ideas. They are really great and organized too!

4.)I have a bunch of sweaters that are too short (if they shrink just a bit they are worthless because I am long-waisted) and I was thinking of trying a recon so Megan could get some use out of them. I really like to have a pattern so I am nervous about just cutting something up. If anyone has any ideas, I would love to hear them!

5.)I am allergic to the sun, so when I get a sunburn it turns into a itchy painful heat-rash looking thing and that's my legs right now. They are so itchy! And boy are they ugly, no shorts for me for a while. Um, sorry again, snow people!

1.)Lydia is finally tired of the snow too. It took her longer than me, but today she said she was ready for the snow to be gone. Of course, it did melt today, but I expect it will be back again soon! I hate winter, I REALLY REALLY DO!! I agree, we need to hurry on down where it is warm and get some jump roaping lessons!

2.)I'll have to check into the Jonas Brothers thing. I was going to go to Walmart today, but Lydia is sick. Poor little thing. She's coughing and snotty, and I'm pretty sure she has a fever, although I can't find any of our 5 thermometers!

3.)You are very welcome!
4.)Hmm, I have no suggestions, but I think it is a very good idea!
5.)Ouch!!! That has to be very uncomfortable!

This was a set I made a while ago, and finally added the Mickey head today. Sadly you can't really see it in the pictures. I spent the afternoon, running errands and watching Ireland at gymnastics...
Hopefull tomorrow I will get some sewing done...

Brian vetoed my choice of names too, but I am very persistent! I can't imagine Megan being anything else, but I love your Gracie story!

What is with these men?? Our neices middle name is pronounced Rochelle, but my brother spelled it Rachel. Rachel just so happened to be one oh his thankfully ex girlfriends.

that is the funniest! Did your mom know it was his ex's name before she got the name?

Apparently, Dad wanted to name me Heather, but at that time my Mom wasn't going to have anything to do with that! By the time Heather came around, she didn't mind anymore. His girlfriend had the same last name as we did, and he thought it sounded pretty. That's my Dad for you!

If Heather was a boy, she was going to be Shannon, which at the time seemed totally reasonable for a boy. But now, you only hear about girl Shannon's lucky for her she was a girl!!! :rotfl:

This is what I did yesterday. I just took a pillowcase and added sleeves and a

Hi All!

I am terribly behind on this thread, I mean, when did we get to part 3 ;)

Seriously though, I spent last Friday at a Sewing Expo! Are you Jealous? It was a blast. It was my first year to go and definitely not my last. $4 seminars on almost every thing you can think of and some free ones as well. I stuck to those and didn't dive into the more spendy hands-on classes, although I am sure I would learn a bunch if I did.
But the real fun was the vendors! Oh, the fabric (not much Disney :sad1: ) I didn't buy as much as my hubby was afraid I would. And I realized when I got home I forgot to get a few things....like a pattern for this foot stool they called a "Tuffet", so cute.

Ok, now on to todays find.... and forgive me if this is a common knowledge thing for you guys. I saw this today in a catalog and was amazed I hadn't thought of it before..... the Crayon Apron!

Ok, I just had to share my recent experiences with you all. You continue to inspire me. But first things first....I need to go get organized - who needs a guest room right?

oooh how much fun! A Sewing Expo!! I wish they had those around here. I have yet to see one.

I just love that crayon apron! That would be so cute for my girl scout troop. I Might have to case that.

I'm gonna jump on the name band wagon and share how DD got her name.

The tv. When I was a child there was a character on a soap opera and I thought she was very pretty. Her name was Jenna. That is the first time that I had heard that name and I fell in love with it (I was like 8). Well when I was pregnant with DD her dad and I discussed names and the only one he suggested was Ashley. Well I didn't like it for a first name so I said no because it was too common. Well sadly enough he left before she was born so I had to name her myself. I was watching Clifford one day and liked the name Jetta which is one of the characters, but everyone kept telling me that that was a weird name. Well I vetoed it myself when I saw a car commercial for a VW Jetta. There is a character on Arthur named Jenna and that is when I remembered the soap opera girl and I put the name Jenna with Ashley and everybody liked it. Her name fits her. It's cute and petite sounding (I think so anyways). I chose Ashley because I wanted her to have a sense that her dad had a part in naming her. DD was named 2 weeks before she was born.

Her nickname is Jenna Benna. This was given to her by my cousins. They are twins and were five at the time. Earlier in their childhood they had had some identity problems (they both thought their name was Michael). One is Michael and the other is Marcus. Well they had to go to a therapist who tought them that they had separate names and that each name was different by rhyming them. Michael-Bichael Marcus-Parcus So when Jenna was born they called her Jenna Benna and it has stuck ever since then. She is also called Bug or Jenna Bug and Little Fish (Her dad's nickname was Fish so she is Little Fish.)

I don't know who else bought Carla's new pattern today, but the temptation was too great to resist.;)

Here is my adaptation of her new pattern. This is the halter version. I tried to "artsify" my photos a bit. Albeit my redneck version!:rotfl:

I need to work on my focusing, and my lighting!
Leighanna had just got out of the bathtub, and it was past her bedtime, so I just shot these quickly.

Yeah but just think of all the money you would save...you wouldn't have to purchase the Photopass CD!!! His pictures will be much better!! LOL

(Note to Corey...totally trying to help you get that camera, my friend)! :goodvibes

Ooooooh its adorable!! Look at those artsy modeling pictures! They make the dress look that much better. (which from you is hard to make anything look better when it already looks great!) Great fabric.
