Geez, :worship: I worship your A-lines, applique, skills in general, You in specific ,photography, seemingly angelic dd, fabric choices (I like the vintage look!!!!).

Now, do-tell, what kind of camera do you have. Brand, model etc.

I will attempt artsy photography next time. I will do the redneck version of course. :rolleyes1 with a half drunk sippy cup, half a cat as she zooms through the frame, and a most uncooperative subject. It's all your fault!

Aww, thanks :) I use a Canon 30D digital SLR camera. As important as the camera in my humble opinion is the lens. I shoot with a 50mm 1.4 lens which lets in oodles of natural light so I don't have to use a flash often. It's a fairly short focal length too so perfect for in the house which is where I am trapped because I have two toddlers ;)

She knows that I won't put the camera away and leave her alone till she looks at me so she's pretty cooperative. My son is less so ;) Here is the difference in pics :)

What should I name this work of art ??? Boy with Water Softener???

Speaking of cameras, I just noticed something cool!

In the photobucket site, click on one of the pictures. It will tell you what kind of camera it was taken with down at the bottom. It says that the following people took pictures with these types of cameras:

Tom: FUJIFILM FinePix S5700 S700
Stephres: Canon PowerShot SD850 IS
Ediebeedieboutique: FUJIFILM FinePix S3100

Is it right? I'd never noticed that before!

That is right! I feel a little violated!:rotfl:

LauraP, your pictures (and kids) are wonderful, even "Boy with Water Softener." I love how they are so bright and clean.

I'm baaaack...
Okay, my amazing MIL brought me 11 yards of this toile in pink and 7 yards in blue...HELLO! Just to be nice...LOVE her!...so, I made Saylor and my DN, Kennedy, matching spring outfits....
boutique001-3.jpg

I had mentioned a while ago that I bought princess sheets and wasn't sure what to do with them...well, I made THREE outfits, and still have leftovers (from twin sheets!!!)! Whoever thought of using sheet sets to make outfits is a GENIUS! So, here are two of the outfits, one for Saylor, one for DN, Kennedy, and one for my favorite little flower, Lily (jham's cutie!)...

boutique004-2.jpg

This is an outfit that my SIL requested for her friend's baby...it's actually tiny...3-6 months...

This is an outfit I made from scraps...I'm loving the halter/pillowcase top, can you tell?

:)

LOVE:lovestruc everything! Soooo cute!

Just a little Aline dress I made for Gabi. I used the simplicity pattern but changed it quite a bit to make it fully lined. It's reversible but the inside doesn't have the princess embroidery as it was just a test run for a minnie mouse one I want to make for our trip to Disney.

Sorry they aren't the most exciting pics, I just finished putting the buttons on at dinner time :)

I plan to put the design higher in the hoop next time too, it's been a while since I've done much embroidery, no time due to the monkeys ;)

Here are a couple of shots of a silly little doll dress I made for Gabi's giraffe. I just wanted to try out the super cute minnie applique, it's not perfect because I only have one hoop and didn't think to change the stitching order but I have another hoop coming so when I do it on her minnie dress it should be perfect

OMG you are AMAZING! AND YOUR KIDS ARE beautiful! You got the motherload in the talent dept.!:rotfl: :rotfl2:

I had that revelation as soon as I got it into my head to start cutting some fabric. My revelation involved screaming and "SAWYER BIT ME!!!" I suppose I will have to wait until bedtime!

:rotfl: Mine is usually "RYLIE HIT ME!!!!" I just noticed in your siggy that our kids are about the same age! How old is Sawyer exactly?

Wow, Wow, wow, I've been busy at work and just able to lurk (darn job getting in the way of my DISing :rolleyes1 ) and we have all these talented new friends joining us, gorgeous babies, adorable kids, fabulous outfits. I've been sitting here on and off all evening getting caught up and I'm just in awe.

Me again, sorry to hog the board (this is what happens when I only lurk!)...I know I've posted this outfit before, but, we got a great shot of Saylor wearing it over the weekend and, being the shameless mother that I am, I have to share....

My dd, Scout, made Saylor's little bow...so proud of her! Wish I could do bows that well!!

I love that outfit! And tell Scout awesome job on the bow!

All I can say is     Thank you! I saw your Cinderella sheets outfits and was ooohing and aaahing and then I read you made one for Lily! I told her "auntie Jen made you a Lella dress!" and you should've heard her squeal. It was hilarious. Love everything you made and that toile is so cute! I don't know how you crank these outfits out! :worship:

Yep. You're right!

I am sooo never gonna catch up on posting! Everything is so great. Steph, I love the HSM peasant top! Forgot to say I love Arminda and Lydia's pony outfits! Every time Lily sees the commercial for the big doll sized pony she says "mommy, I want that....pleeeeeeease!" It is kinda cute, because she usually doesn't ask for things she sees on TV.

fortheluvofpooh: Love the Giselle canopy! I feel the need for a giant crown like that! and DD's outfit is darling!

ArmyMom23: I think I need to CASE your DS's shorts!

camelotcats: cute easter dress! Once upon a time I was in search of a very similar fabric--only with a white background instead of yellow--then I found it on my bedroom windows  I eventually found a completely different easter dress fabric which I have yet to cut into.

LauraP22: Love your outfits and photos! I used to know a girl named Laura Pearce--is your grandpa named Gordon by any chance? :rotfl:

Okay, I hear bad loud noises happening in my house. :scared1: This is why I will never catch up!

I have been lurking today and you all posted some wesome stuff. But I have to get back to my sewing!
keep up the great work everyone!
Lori

TERESA- I just wanted to say a BIG THANK YOU for your bookmarks! I use them ALL of the time! Thanks again for all of your hard work keeping them updated and organized!
I'll second that!

Thank You!!!!

Aww, thank you! Heather helps me out with those and the photobucket site too. I really love to know that people find it useful! I have so much fun finding new

Hey!!!! Thanks so much for the plug! I have been working on that eBook pretty much non-stop for the last month! You should see the state my house is in right now  ! I have a gianormous pile of laundry to attend to today. My poor husband

OK, I'm trying to decide whether to get caught up on posts here or fold laundry! hmmmmmmmm.....
I can't wait to make something with it! It's so cute!!! Laundry shmaundry! I would never be able to reach the top of my closet or change the lightbulbs in my basement if I thought I had to finish all the laundry!!! :rotfl2:

No problem!! :thumbsup2

I think your patterns are great! I like how you include a lot of pictures on YCMT. Some of the patterns for sale, you can't even tell what you're buying!

I say the laundry can wait!!
That is exactly what I was thinking, about all the pictures. I love that you can actually tell what it is! There was a pattern on another site I was looking at the other day, and I could NOT figure out if it was pants or a skirt! Very frustrating!

Megan says thank you! She has been practicing so she is happy you noticed.
She needs to give Lydia lessons, she has been trying, but hasn't mastered it yet. Of course, she has been practicing in our living room, since the snow just WONT go away!!! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

That is great Stephanie!! I keep looking at that pillowcase at the store wondering what I could do with it! That is perfect!
Which, makes me wonder, do they sell Jonas Brothers pillowcases too??

Thank you! You never know what they are going to say. Megan's friend just got prescription glasses so Megan has been wearing her hello kitty sunglasses to school. When her teacher told her to take them off, she said, but I have to wear them, they are subscription! :rotfl:
That is too funny!

Hello to all of you very talented people! I am an occasional lurker here and need help!!! I'm a beginner when it comes to sewing - I've done some curtains and blankets for my son's room. Now, I want to move into clothing and patterns terrify me! It's hard for me to find a pattern I like. Does anyone out there make clothes without patterns and how do you go about it??? I am looking to make a simple summer top and I guess I just don't know where to start. :confused3 If anyone has any advice for me, I would be very grateful!

Lisa

A tiered twirl skirt is pretty easy to do without a pattern, but like Heather said, you might want to start with one of the beginner sewing patterns that they have out there. Heather and I were I think it was a Simplicity pattern and it was for pajama pants.

And, I wanted to :welcome: you to the board, and thank you again for the sweet PM you sent me the other day!

Here am I, sneaking out of lurkdom to post, my first sewn garment in close to eight years, a flirty summer skirt for dd. This was completely handsewn. I used Waldemort fabric $1/yd for all of it. It has a sheer white lining since I was afraid the sun would show off her unders if I didn't. It is a tiny bit big in the elastic waist. But overall, she is happy and my fingers hurt. Feedback please.
That is really cute!! And wow!! You did it by hand!!! Excellent!!!

Aww thank you SOOO much Teresa!!!! No, I am not a professional photographer, just a hobby of mine! I love taking pictures!!!

Now as far as that pettiskirt thing goes....I am truly WORKING on that!!! Hahahahahaahahahahahaha...hopefully I get a few before summer!!!:rotfl2: :lmao:

You really are a great photographer. Corey is very talented with the camera. He doesn't take a lot of people pictures, but he has some nature pictures that are really cool Hmm, let me see if I can find one of my favorites....
S6306328.jpg

He just takes these pictures with a little Samsung camera we got on vacation last May. He wants a digital SLR now though.

Would you just take a look at my ticker!?!!!!!!!!! Less than 2 months!!!!!!
WOO HOO!!!!

Yeah, by hand. I am afraid of my machine so I don't even have it unpacked from our move last October. I hand piece little quilts when I feel like it, so I can do that whenever the urge strikes. I have tried to find someone to teach me to use my machine, but she basically sat in front of it for 30 minutes and said it will do this, and this, and this, then said okay, you run a few stitches, thank you ma'am $45. I never even went back for the other half hour. Very intimidated. But the more I see here the more I wish I had the ability to sew some of these super cute outfits, so maybe it will see the light of day soon...well, maybe.
I would suggest that you read your manual through and then just start playing with it.

I like it with the lace.
I'm baaaack...

I love the little princess dress! Very cute. What is the material you used for the giraffe outfit? That looks really cute! And, the more I study it the more it looks a lot like some material I just bought the other day.

I had that revelation as soon as I got it into my head to start cutting some fabric. My revelation involved screaming and "SAWYER BIT ME!!!" I suppose I will have to wait until bedtime!
Aww, I hope my Tessie is ok! And, what were you working on????
I realized that I didn't post how I came up with Tessa's name. I saw in a baby book that Tessa is the short form of Teresa. So, of course I wanted to name my baby after my wonderful sister! Her middle name is Jane, which is the same middle name as Henry's high school teacher, Nancy Jane. Sounds weird, but she really took him under her wing and she's like a mother to him.:lovestruc
I love that story! :lovestruc

:rotfl: Mine is usually "RYLIE HIT ME!!!!" I just noticed in your siggy that our kids are about the same age! How old is Sawyer exactly?

He was born June 13, about 10 minutes after I got to the hospital. Good boy was waiting for his Aunt Teresa! He will be two this year, it's hard to believe! :lovestruc

And, he was born the day after Corey's birthday. It would have been very cool if he had been born the day before. Corey is my parent's first grandchild and Sawyer is most likely the last, and they are the only boys. Mom calls them her little bookends!

It's Alexander Henry "let's play house" 2005 fabric, it has little girls ironing and such on it. Mine is the light pink background, not sure but I think it was also made in White :)

No Gordon's in my family by the way :) I'm a relatively new Pearce though as it is my married name ;)

Your pictures look so professional! Maybe you should look into becoming a professional photographer.

Okay, Sawyer is a little older than Rylie, her bday isn't until November! Then she will hit the "terrible twos" however I swear she is already in them!:rotfl: How cute that she calls them "bookends"!

LauraP22

are you a professional photographer?
and you might have already answered but,
how did you find our little board?
Lori

No, I'm not a pro, just a serious hobbyist :) I honestly just wanna take great pics of the people I love. I may consider it as a career someday but for now I'm happy to be a SAHM of my two kiddos. I plan to have two more kids in the next few years hopefully so I'll be too busy for any other jobs ;)

I actually have a friend who told me about your board. He's a SAHD I think his screen name here is Schnerk. He and I worked together a while back and he has two toddlers close in age to my kiddos. We have playdates most weeks. He's also a travel agent who is booking my trip for me and ADR's and such for Disney. Just an awesome guy all around. Anyhow, he suggested I start reading to plan for the trip :)

OOOh, and you never know, you may see some of his creations on here sometime :) I have upgraded my machine, I was keeping the old one as a backup but my crafting stuff is taking over the house so I'm giving him my machine so he can play too :) I know he wants to make a manly diaper bag, he's sick of not being able to find good ones for guys :)

Aw, she would be happy to. Poor Lydia can't learn in the snow! Hurry down here where it's warm. Very cool ice pic by Corey though.

I do not know if they sell Jonas Brothers, I really don't go to Wal Mart that often. Right now I am cutting up a Cinderella pillowcase trying to make a slightly less perfect version of Tom's aline dress that has that big Tink on it. We'll see how that goes. At least if I mess up, there's the other side!

Hey, I wanted to tell you thanks for the bookmarks too. I peruse them weekly at least looking for ideas. They are really great and organized too!

I have a bunch of sweaters that are too short (if they shrink just a bit they are worthless because I am long-waisted) and I was thinking of trying a recon so Megan could get some use out of them. I really like to have a pattern so I am nervous about just cutting something up. If anyone has any ideas, I would love to hear them!

I am allergic to the sun, so when I get a sunburn it turns into a itchy painful heat-rash looking thing and that's my legs right now. They are so itchy! And boy are they ugly, no shorts for me for a while. Um, sorry again, snow people!

I've probabaly posted it before, but I have enjoyed reading everyone's stories about how they named their babies, I wanted to join in!

Corey was named Corey, because, well I really liked that name. Corey Hart is the singer that sang "our song". Which, if you want to know, is "Can't Help Falling in Love". If he was a girl, he was going to be Kayleigh Elizabeth. Kayleigh because Brian liked Kealie Shaye Smith (probably butchered the spelling of that name).

We named our baby Quinn because when we were in the ultrasound room, minutes before we found out things were really going horribly wrong, Brian was telling me about a friend of ours that just had a baby. He couldn't remember the name so he just started rattling off random names. When he said Quinn, we both looked at each other and said that was what we wanted to name this baby. So, we named him Quinn Elliot. Elliot is Brian's Dad's middle name. With the next baby, I saw the name Gavin somewhere, and after he was born, I told Brian that was what I wanted to name him. He is Gavin Merrell, (Merrell is my Dad and brother's middle name). We kept the same girl's name throughtout these pregnancies.

When I got pregnant with Arminda, I really wanted to name her after my Grandpa's Mom, who was named, wouldn't you know it, Arminda! Go figure! Brian said no at first, but I just kept calling her Arminda, and he came around! So, we named her Arminda Sue. The Sue is for Heather. :lovestruc
They called my great grandmother Minnie, but we do not do that. It's just Arminda. We never really picked out a boy's name for Arminda, so we were really relieved when she was a girl!

Ok, then there is my Lyddy. My little suprise baby! We first thought about calling her Skye. But, then my Mom told me that she had seen a little girl at McDonald's named Lydia, and she thought it went really well with the name Arminda. I'll be honest and tell you guys, I wasn't completely sold on the name at first. But, then I found out that it was my Dad's Grandma's name too, and I really started loving it. So, I suggested it to Brian, who said no. (He's such a spoil sport!) Then, a few days later, I brought it up again, and sweetened the deal by adding on the middle name Rose (his Mom's name). And that is how Lydia Rose got her most beautiful name! We didn't really pick out a boy's name with her either. Although, I guess if it came down to it, we would have went with Landon, which we had talked about.

And, have I ever mentioned that my sister, Heather was named after my Dad's ex-girlfriend? :rotfl:
