TERESA- I just wanted to say a BIG THANK YOU for your bookmarks! I use them ALL of the time! Thanks again for all of your hard work keeping them updated and organized!
I'll second that!
Thank You!!!!
Aww, thank you! Heather helps me out with those and the photobucket site too. I really love to know that people find it useful! I have so much fun finding new
Hey!!!! Thanks so much for the plug! I have been working on that eBook pretty much non-stop for the last month! You should see the state my house is in right now

! I have a gianormous pile of laundry to attend to today. My poor husband
OK, I'm trying to decide whether to get caught up on posts here or fold laundry! hmmmmmmmm.....
I can't wait to make something with it! It's so cute!!! Laundry shmaundry! I would never be able to reach the top of my closet or change the lightbulbs in my basement if I thought I had to finish all the laundry!!!
No problem!!
I think your patterns are great! I like how you include a lot of pictures on YCMT. Some of the patterns for sale, you can't even tell what you're buying!
I say the laundry can wait!!
That is exactly what I was thinking, about all the pictures. I love that you can actually tell what it is! There was a pattern on another site I was looking at the other day, and I could NOT figure out if it was pants or a skirt! Very frustrating!
Megan says thank you! She has been practicing so she is happy you noticed.
She needs to give Lydia lessons, she has been trying, but hasn't mastered it yet. Of course, she has been practicing in our living room, since the snow just WONT go away!!! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
That is great Stephanie!! I keep looking at that pillowcase at the store wondering what I could do with it! That is perfect!
Which, makes me wonder, do they sell Jonas Brothers pillowcases too??
Thank you! You never know what they are going to say. Megan's friend just got prescription glasses so Megan has been wearing her hello kitty sunglasses to school. When her teacher told her to take them off, she said, but I have to wear them, they are subscription!
That is too funny!
Hello to all of you very talented people! I am an occasional lurker here and need help!!! I'm a beginner when it comes to sewing - I've done some curtains and blankets for my son's room. Now, I want to move into clothing and patterns terrify me! It's hard for me to find a pattern I like. Does anyone out there make clothes without patterns and how do you go about it??? I am looking to make a simple summer top and I guess I just don't know where to start.

If anyone has any advice for me, I would be very grateful!
Lisa
A tiered twirl skirt is pretty easy to do without a pattern, but like Heather said, you might want to start with one of the beginner sewing patterns that they have out there. Heather and I were I think it was a Simplicity pattern and it was for pajama pants.
And, I wanted to

you to the board, and thank you again for the sweet PM you sent me the other day!
Here am I, sneaking out of lurkdom to post, my first sewn garment in close to eight years, a flirty summer skirt for dd. This was completely handsewn. I used Waldemort fabric $1/yd for all of it. It has a sheer white lining since I was afraid the sun would show off her unders if I didn't. It is a tiny bit big in the elastic waist. But overall, she is happy and my fingers hurt. Feedback please.
That is really cute!! And wow!! You did it by hand!!! Excellent!!!
Aww thank you SOOO much Teresa!!!! No, I am not a professional photographer, just a hobby of mine! I love taking pictures!!!
Now as far as that pettiskirt thing goes....I am truly WORKING on that!!! Hahahahahaahahahahahaha...hopefully I get a few before summer!!!
You really are a great photographer. Corey is very talented with the camera. He doesn't take a lot of people pictures, but he has some nature pictures that are really cool Hmm, let me see if I can find one of my favorites....
He just takes these pictures with a little Samsung camera we got on vacation last May. He wants a digital SLR now though.
Would you just take a look at my ticker!?!!!!!!!!! Less than 2 months!!!!!!
WOO HOO!!!!
Yeah, by hand. I am afraid of my machine so I don't even have it unpacked from our move last October. I hand piece little quilts when I feel like it, so I can do that whenever the urge strikes. I have tried to find someone to teach me to use my machine, but she basically sat in front of it for 30 minutes and said it will do this, and this, and this, then said okay, you run a few stitches, thank you ma'am $45. I never even went back for the other half hour. Very intimidated. But the more I see here the more I wish I had the ability to sew some of these super cute outfits, so maybe it will see the light of day soon...well, maybe.
I would suggest that you read your manual through and then just start playing with it.
I like it with the lace.
I'm baaaack...
Okay, my amazing MIL brought me 11 yards of this toile in pink and 7 yards in blue...HELLO! Just to be nice...LOVE her!...so, I made Saylor and my DN, Kennedy, matching spring outfits....
Too cute!!! Ilove that pink and green! So adoreable!
Me again, sorry to hog the board (this is what happens when I only lurk!)...I know I've posted this outfit before, but, we got a great shot of Saylor wearing it over the weekend and, being the shameless mother that I am, I have to share....
My dd, Scout, made Saylor's little bow...so proud of her! Wish I could do bows that well!!
She is just so cute!!! Scout did a great job on the bow!
Just a little Aline dress I made for Gabi. I used the simplicity pattern but changed it quite a bit to make it fully lined. It's reversible but the inside doesn't have the princess embroidery as it was just a test run for a minnie mouse one I want to make for our trip to Disney.
And another couple of pics of one of her pinafores as she was wearing it today
I love the little princess dress! Very cute. What is the material you used for the giraffe outfit? That looks really cute! And, the more I study it the more it looks a lot like some material I just bought the other day.
I had that revelation as soon as I got it into my head to start cutting some fabric. My revelation involved screaming and "SAWYER BIT ME!!!" I suppose I will have to wait until bedtime!
Aww, I hope my Tessie is ok! And, what were you working on????
I realized that I didn't post how I came up with Tessa's name. I saw in a baby book that Tessa is the short form of Teresa. So, of course I wanted to name my baby after my wonderful sister! Her middle name is Jane, which is the same middle name as Henry's high school teacher, Nancy Jane. Sounds weird, but she really took him under her wing and she's like a mother to him.
I love that story!

Mine is usually "RYLIE HIT ME!!!!" I just noticed in your siggy that our kids are about the same age! How old is Sawyer exactly?
He was born June 13, about 10 minutes after I got to the hospital. Good boy was waiting for his Aunt Teresa! He will be two this year, it's hard to believe!
And, he was born the day after Corey's birthday. It would have been very cool if he had been born the day before. Corey is my parent's first grandchild and Sawyer is most likely the last, and they are the only boys. Mom calls them her little bookends!
