Norah (who's 3 and a half) is still wetting at night (soaking) so we use Pull Ups. BUT I wish I new of some GOOD nighttime panties. Keep your eye out for me, Flea! Nikky has some but their super expensive. Bumkins (I think) has some that are way too thick. I'll have to do some googling. I want her to FEEL wet. Pull Ups are cute but using 2 a day (one for nap) can get spendy.

I'm not sure of panties but if using cloth that has a staydry built in then add a facecloth folded into the top of the diaper then they will feel wet :)
A friend of mine made some training diapers that had lycra wings so they could be pulled up and down with just a flannellette inner so could feel wetness. If you made it into a pocket you could just adjust your absorbancy at night. Or you could use a wool soaker over top. just to catch any extra "drips" :) - I love wool soakers at night for those just in case moments (and cos they are mighty cute).

I fake-serged a hem with my Brother 7700 using an overcast stitch (#6). Using the length set at about 1.4, and the width at 5 and the G foot. It's how I finish all my seems since I don't have a serger (yet). It works well. I do use a LOT of thread though.

Thanks for everyone's kind comments on the girls' dresses. I don't think people who have not sewed realize the time and effort that goes into making this stuff! Even if I think it is fun and satisfying! LOL!

I love the cute Tink diaper cover. But, it isn't as precious as the model!

Cute dresses! Love the patchwork Mickey heads! Is it harder to do the patchwork heads than a regular Mickey applique? Do you patchwork first and then applique? Great job! Love them!

The patchwork head, I pieced it together, and ironed it on a stabilzer, the heat and bond stuff. Then I ironed it on the dress, put the stabilizer under the dress, and I zigzagged around the patches. It was really easy. I liked how it turned out.

For those of you that use bare minerals products I have questions

Did you buy it from the Bareminerals website?
Do you use just the basic starter products or have you bought additional items?
Do you like the eye shadows?

If you were to suggest which products for someone to buy what would they be?
I currently use Lancome eye liner, eye shadow (3 shades), mascara and occasionally blush. So what would I want from Bare minerals?

Help Ladies I'd love a more pulled together look, but hate the feel of liquid foundations, the cakey look and the obvious lines.

Hi! I use Bare Minerals and LOVE it! I did not buy it from their website...I bought mine as a starter kit from ULTA or Sephora. It was a good deal. If you do not have an ULTA or Sephora, try the QVC website. COmpetitivly priced. I use Bare Minerals foundation, "Bisque" as a concealer (this is truly a miracle product. i have never used makeup that has covered my dark circles so well before) and a mineral veil (it gives you are great finish). These ar emy fav three products.

I personally have a lot of their eyeshadows/blush/eyeliners, etc. BUT I do not LOVE those. (this is just my opinion). I still truly like MAC the best. They have the best colors, they blend the best and they stay put.

But as far as foundation/base makeup goes, no one beats Bare Minerals in my opinion. I can't stand the "fake" look/feel of regualr foundation and I love the way my skin looks after using BM...

Whew! That was long-winded!

Oooh, thanks! As a Bare Min (just couldn't bring myself to use BM as an abbreviation  ) newbie that was very helpful!

Ok, I wanted to make one of the face dresses that everyone makes, but my daughter is just too little right now. The face is as big as she is, so this is what I made. I plan to save the projects until she gets a little bigger.

This is the front

This is the model, but she didn't cooperate very well. But she is only 9 months old.

SOOO cute! My dd is 9 months too and I'm making everything ginormous for her! She's going to have so many clothes in about 3-6 months...yikes! Love the Ariel, but, the model's way cuter!!! ;)

I finally finished Kenzie's AK outfit

I sewed all morning because of a snow day!!!!!!!!! Now I just need to start on the other 101 things I need to do.:rolleyes1

SOOO cute! It's true, people who don't sew have no idea the work that goes into this stuff...it's a good thing we enjoy it, huh? :lovestruc

OK, here was the totally awesome gift from Flea!
I couldn't take a pic of Julia in just the diaper because it is COLD here!
I wish you could all see it. It has pink fleece with flowers on the inside that is sooooo soft, and the snaps on the front have cute little butterflies on them. SO CUTE!

Thanks for the info. The starter kit on their website seems pretty reasonable priced for what you get and there is a money back guarantee for 30 days. I'm thinking of trying the starter kit which comes with brushes and the eye starter kit. I've read good things here and on other sites.

I use an off brand of bare minerals. I bought it off :wizard:, and I like it better. It does not have bismuth, and it is more matte. It is called southern magnolia minerals, and that is the name of her website as well. I use her stuff exclusively, now, and am very happy. As for the eye shadows, I still use basic drug store brands, I never could find one that I like in the mineral stuff.

So, I was at Target yesterday (can I mention the store name??? sorry!), anywho...they have the CUTEST sheet set of Princesses! It's the 3 Princesses with the prettiest script writing in the background...it's all "Dear Diary" and different diary entries...SOOOOO dang cute! I've never cut up sheets before and it's a little nerve wracking, HOWEVER! I'm wanting to go for it, so, I'm wondering...the princesses are quite large, and Saylor is quite small...I'm wondering if I should make outfits for when she's bigger...and, what kind of patterns would anyone recommend? Obviously I want the princesses to be seen pretty well...I thought about the Rosie twirl top, or the stripwork jumper without the strips....the a-line (that I'm stuck on) could work for maybe one princess...agh! The flat sheet has the princesses w/the writing in the background, the fitted sheet is just the writing, so, I thought the fitted sheet could make some cute pants. Okay, I'm rambling...lack of sleep last night...
Any ideas would be GREAT! You guys are way more clever than me, HELP!!!!

If you watch :wizard: , they have a fabric of Cinderella with the Dear Diary. I made a dress for Kirsta that the Fairy Godmother LOVED!!

I bought some Wendover Cotton material in several colors to make my niece an Incredibles & Pink Panther outfit. I washed/dried it last week but am just now getting around to ironing it. It is soooooo wrinkled and even after ironing it with lots of steam, it's like you can still see where the wrinkles were.

Anybody got any tips for getting it back to normal or should I just rewash it and start all over?

Have you tried spray starch with sizing? Or use a water spritzer bottle. I use both methods. If that doesn't work, I'd wash it again, but only half dry it, then hang it up.

I came across this dress, and wanted to show you guys. Not so much the dress, but the dress has a loop sewn to it at the waist and the book is attatched to it with a hook. I thought this might be a great idea at Disney with all the different zipper pools or key chains. I have a bunch of small stuffed animals with the hook on it that I think will work.

Oh my!!! What adorable dresses and that prince charming..... :thumbsup2 Love all it ladies!!!! :lovestruc

I haven't posted in awhile, so I thought I would pop on and say hi!! We leave for our trip this Sat, and I can hardly stand it!!

I wanted to also share my boys Peter Pan outfits that my aunt handpainted for the boys. I also had 2 outfits made from :wizard: for them to wear. LOL!!

Here is the Peter Pan outfits!

These are so great!! For those of us that can't paint . . . I used to make these pillows .... you use parchment paper and iron it to a peice of fabric, then use a coloring book page and hold it up to a window and draw the picture onto the fabric. Then you color it in with crayons and heat press it. It's been years since I've done it, but that would work for those of us without the wonderful painting talent.

I would like to thank everyone for the encouragement. I am so looking forward to making more dresses, so please keep posting all your outfits here. I need all the ideas I can get!;) You people are the greatest!:thumbsup2

Okay so i finished Jayedyn's St Patrick's Day outfit Before the actual day / weeks  i just got to make a hair bow or something:confused3 i might make a pony tail holder for her hair since it is getting warmer ... pictures soonish along with Norah's outfits. (lil miss wendy lou's daughter)

Here's the Cinderella dress that I made for my dd...she said this one doesn't twirl as much! LOL

IMG_3881p.jpg

I tried to cut out cinderella from a fabric panel and then tried to applique her onto the top of the dress, but it just didn't turn out so good....I made Cinderella look UGLY!!! I wreck two panels trying to applique her, and finally just gave up......I think I will start with some simple applique..like a square or rectangle shape!

I agree! I have been using BMin for about 2 years now and before that I almost never wore foundation. I just couldn't stand the feel of it and it always looked a little fake to me. I bought the BMin around this time of year because I was feeling like I was too pasty white and needed some color. I totally love it and now wear it everyday because it's so easy and looks so good. I don't always use the Mineral Veil on top because I don't feel like I need it for everyday. I got the starter set from Sephora online and it was $60 with free shipping. I wear the lighter shade of foundation in the winter and the darker one in the summer. I just had to replace my first foundation and I found it for a great price on eBay. Now I need to replace my revver upper. My brushes are still in great shape too. It's totally worth the investment.

Awww, how sweet she is! I love cotton princess gowns. They seem so comfy. Applique is hard. My very first was a Mickey head. Let's just say, I said some very not-nice words with that mickey! Turned our fine in the end. My tip is to go sloooooow.
