Flea! I totally used cloth diapers too! I bought them from a diaper service and they worked fabulous. My babies never ever had rashes! I used diaper covers too. There are a lot of us!

:thumbsup2 :) it is so cool to find lots of cloth users :) I don't feel like a :hippie: anymore :) Actually I only learnt to sew so I could make my diapers cheaply ;)

Cloth diapers are an addiction all of there own :rolleyes1

Is a diaper service where they take them to wash them?? If so that would be cool - we don't have that here.... wait yes I do it's called a DH  :laundy:

Wow Utahmama! You are even cooler than I thought:cool1: Didn't you know that only the cool mama's Cloth diaper. No offense to you other mama's (I am JK!)

OK, here was the totally awesome gift from Flea!
I couldn't take a pic of Julia in just the diaper because it is COLD here!
I wish you could all see it. It has pink fleece with flowers on the inside that is sooooo soft, and the snaps on the front have cute little butterflies on them. SO CUTE!

Awwww I'm getting all clucky - She suits purple :cutie:

Teresa,
This turned out so cute. I am just stock piling my Minnie Dot in fear that I will never find it again! I am just too scared to cut into it and ruin it! That said I see that you have used your serger. I think that you have the Singer Serger too, what settings did you use for your hem at the bottom? I am very frustrated with getting my serger on the right settings for a hem like that. ANyone else have any recommendations I have the singer model from Walmart! Thanks

So, I was at Target yesterday (can I mention the store name??? sorry!), anywho...they have the CUTEST sheet set of Princesses! It's the 3 Princesses with the prettiest script writing in the background...it's all "Dear Diary" and different diary entries...SOOOOO dang cute! I've never cut up sheets before and it's a little nerve wracking, HOWEVER! I'm wanting to go for it, so, I'm wondering...the princesses are quite large, and Saylor is quite small...I'm wondering if I should make outfits for when she's bigger...and, what kind of patterns would anyone recommend? Obviously I want the princesses to be seen pretty well...I thought about the Rosie twirl top, or the stripwork jumper without the strips....the a-line (that I'm stuck on) could work for maybe one princess...agh! The flat sheet has the princesses w/the writing in the background, the fitted sheet is just the writing, so, I thought the fitted sheet could make some cute pants. Okay, I'm rambling...lack of sleep last night...
Any ideas would be GREAT! You guys are way more clever than me, HELP!!!!

Well, just bring it over and I'll make a practice jumper for Lily with it, then we can make sure Saylor's is perfect! :rotfl:

Ok, I wanted to make one of the face dresses that everyone makes, but my daughter is just too little right now. The face is as big as she is, so this is what I made. I plan to save the projects until she gets a little bigger.

This is the model, but she didn't cooperate very well. But she is only 9 months old.

very cute!

I have been lurking here off and on for the last month or so and have to say thanks for all the inspiration. Prior to visiting this thread, I made costumes for my girls to wear to the princess tea on our last trip to WDW. But thanks to many ideas I have gotten here, I plan to have several outfits made for each of them by our next trip.

Here are the costumes I made last year... (I knew better than to show my face without a photo attached :) ) I did not make my son's pirate costume - I had run out of steam by that point.

Thank you for coming out of lurkdom with photos even! The dresses are great!

I finally finished Kenzie's AK outfit

I have the Brother from Walmart so can't help you too much with the settings, but I've got to say I LOVE doing hems like this! It is soooo fast and easy. How did I ever live without a serger? Oh yeah, I didn't sew.

The Brother is the one that I really wanted, but I was too impatient to wait, I would have had to order it online, my WM doesn't carry it in the stores. So I ended up with the Singer, I had some birthday cash and giftcards and the rest went on the "grocery" bill ;)

You all are SO talented!!! A poster in a BBB thread said that she had her DD's Aurora dress made by a DISboutiquer... while my trip is still 11 months away, I'd love to know what my custom dress options are!

Thanks in advance!

That is just darling. What a nice gift. If I get pregnant again, I so want to learn to sew my own diapers. I wanted to cloth diaper Lauren but it never happened. If I sewed my own, I might be able to convince DH that this might be the way to go.

Flea, any tips on diaper sewing? Is this an all-in-one? I don't think DH could do pre-folds with a cover.

:) This one is a pocket - the absorbant layers go between the waterproof and stay dry layers. I like pockets as they dry really quickly. I find that it's hard to get the right absorbancy with an AIO just because all bubs wet differently.

This site has lots of free patterns

I've pm'd you so I don't bore everyone else :rolleyes1 :)

I think AK outfits are just my favorite!!!!

Thank you Flea for the diaper tips. I will be doing more research on the topic.

Another off topic question - I remember someone posting a long time ago about Bare Minerals makeup. I think it was Utahmama. Anyone else use it? I am thinking about buying it but am unsure. I don't wear makeup everyday but when I do I want/need it to be easy.

No way! How cute! The fleece makes them so leakproof.

I think I used Nikky's and Bumkins.

I like the snaps for adjustablity. Velcro would wear out.

I totally felt like a :hippie: for breast feeding, using cloth, wearing the baby in a sling, making my own baby food...etc.

Norah (who's 3 and a half) is still wetting at night (soaking) so we use Pull Ups. BUT I wish I new of some GOOD nighttime panties. Keep your eye out for me, Flea! Nikky has some but their super expensive. Bumkins (I think) has some that are way too thick. I'll have to do some googling. I want her to FEEL wet. Pull Ups are cute but using 2 a day (one for nap) can get spendy.

Snubie- you can try Bare Minerals out at Nordstrom to find the right shade then buy them super cheaply on e-bay. L'Oreal has some now too. I don't know how they compare. I also love that it has a natural SPF since the sun is my arch nemesis with wrinkles.

Cute dresses! Love the patchwork Mickey heads! Is it harder to do the patchwork heads than a regular Mickey applique? Do you patchwork first and then applique? Great job! Love them!

I think both Utahmama and Spongie use it? Anyhoo, their gorgeous skin made me order some (BTW it took forever to get here!) I just started using it this week and I am surprised at how much I like it! I still need to watch the dvd though and make sure I'm doing it right! It is easier than I thought and easy to use as little or as much as you want. I'm surprised at how well it covers my many flaws!

That is so cute...and the top isn't bad either :rotfl2: What a cutie.

Wow am I behind lol. I have been painting my living room dining room and kitchen are almost done I just have trim to paint. :)

I would love opinions though! I got this yesterday for my foster boy room. I bought a set and this is the top sheet. I have a blue top sheet that would match it and I really like the mickey sheet. I am seriously considering keeping it to use as fabric. What do you think is the print to big?
001.jpg

I think the fabric is perfect for sewing.

Very cute :thumbsup2 With talent like that you should be able to whip up outfits in no time.

I was wondering about T-beri the other day too. I figured since no-one had mentioned it that I had missed some info that everyone else knew.

Thanks for all of the terrifi girl's weekend ideas! Keep'em coming! I plan on really doing our Disney theme up just to drive the to Disney-haters crazy!:rotfl2:

Wallyworld had some cute wire valentine's baskets leftover after Valentine's Day (though they are probably gone now) that would look perfect with some H2O products and a cute disney washcloth. You could even make bath poofs out of tulle (or buy them at the dollar store) and add a Disney button or other things to Disneyfy them
