Misty and Jayedyn just left from their photo shoot....

Jayedyn in her brown and pink kitty print stripwork skirt and decoupage jeans:

Norah is wearing her new stripwork jumper (with straight pins instead of buttons since I havenet done them yet. Imagine fabric covered buttons sewn neatly and straight ;) ) Decoupage jeans from size 3T jeans that were too floody and had a hole in the knee found new life!

Jayedyn is wearing her St. Patrick's day ensamble. Yes, that's stripwork...hard to see in my lovely photography. It's amazing! "Can't pinch me!!!!"

Norah is wearing her Tink (used to be a pillowcase) outfit. The hem is little daisies or Pixie Dust Stars? (#24 on my brother 7700 from Costco) Work It!

Thanks Jham for hooking us on this pose! Norah insists too!

This was the first picture of the day. I told her I'd just have to put crying DIVA pictures up on the computer...she instantly quit :rolleyes1

And here's the cat in the crib-o-plush:

Beautimus! REALLY!

Me thinks a pair of decoupaged jeans are in the works for the future!:thumbsup2

Love the crying DIVA! Eh, I have one of those at times too!

And the one with her hands on the door!:rotfl: "Stick 'em up! Hand over the Tink and nobody gets hurt!" Too cute!

Ok I would totally be multi quoting right now but there is just too much to comment on.

I love everything that I have seen: The diaper, St. Patrick's Day dress, Matching daughter dresses, Saylor's outfit, Norah's outfit with the tink and anyone else that I have forgotten I am sorry.

I am going to attempt to finish an Easter dress that I started last night.

This is the outfit that I made for DD that she didn't like. She says that it just isn't her style. She wants me to make her one like Tom made. I told her that I would. :sad2: Boy am I a sucker. I don't know what is wrong with that pic. I turned it and shrank it in Photobucket and for some reason it didn't translate over here.

Hee Hee, that's "next up" on my to do stack.

It's really cute! Sorry your dd didn't care for it.:guilty:

In person, that fabric is so purdy!

I've seen that floral at Walmart but haven't picked it up yet. I have the stripes though. After seeing yours (and Toms) sets, I may have to pick it up! That is adorable! You just pack that up and ship it over to me! DD would love it.

That is cute too!

That fabric was pretty nice to work with too!

I didn't tell you all about part of me not reading directions first. Yeah.... again... total man didn't read the directions!;)

When I printed the pattern, I didn't see the part about no page scaling, and of course I didn't print out the test square to see if the scale was right. The first top I made is probably a 4T to a 5. I "thought" I printed out the 7.:confused3
After I finished the first one, and tried it on Leighanna, I realized that. Doh! A little bit too tight around the chest!

So just as a reminder, I am sure all you ladies read instructions impeccably. Make sure you check the "no page scaling" option when printing out your pattern!

If anyone would be interested in a lovely Aline top in a size 4 - 5, PM me and I will randomly pick who gets it!

Bare Minerals question. I never wear foundation- just blush, light eye shadow, and mascara. All the foundation I've tried makes me get pimples. I am prone to pimples, but also have dry skin- Ugh! Anyway, is this stuff good for acne prone 33 year olds?

I regularly sleep in mine (I know, bad!) and it is fine. I need to check out the concealer though. I have horrible dark circles I can't cover.

On a side note I just found out I am REALLY not going to be around much anymore. I am getting a 10 day old baby most likely on Friday she is under 4 lbs so a lot of my time. :) I am so excited though. There is a chance she will stay with us forever. Please say prayers. I get to go find preemie clothes tomorrow! :)

Good luck and enjoy that baby!

Awww, we need to find the instructions to fix it. We've all done it, don't worry.

Gorgeous! That baby is going to be the best dressed baby this summer!

Love that kitty fabric. Every time I am in there I pass by it and try not to buy it but I want it so. I love the decoupaged jeans and the St. Patrick's day jumper is cute. Poor little Norah, she needs a cookie!

I think it looks great, sorry she didn't like it.

These turned out sooo cute!! Again, I've passed that fabric up a few times and now seeing it in an outfit - I love it!

BTW - Norah looks so much like you!

Eeyore, I have a Hancock in town, PM and let me know what you need.

I need a little help. I found a really cute corset type waist cincher with a peplum, with a tutu on :wizard: . I want to CASE this but I'm not sure exactly how to about it. It's similar to one I've seen on here. Any ideas?

Second, I think I'm going to have to bite the bullet and learn how to shirr, give it to me straight, how tough is it?

:sad1: Utahmama, your kiddio's look great! I really like the St. Patty's Day outfit! so cute.

Tinkabelle, sorry your DD didn't like the outfit. I think it's cute!:lovestruc

Billwendy, I LOVE your Mountain pic! It is gorgeous!!!!!

Sugarbees, let me just say, your little DD is the sweetest thing! I just want to grab her up and kiss those little cheeks! I miss when mine were that age.
:sad1:

I forget who asked about the shirring, but it is really easy. I was afraid of it at first, but it is not hard at all.

I'm not sure exactly what you're trying to describe. Is it similar to this?

If so, PM me and I'll tell you how I did it.

Well, I think it's totally cute. But, I can feel your pain. I've had dd4 tell me she loves a pic & then when I make it she won't wear it. :confused3

Thanks for all of the compliments on the outfit that I made. I guess DD takes after her dad. He has certain things that he absolutely won't wear. The funny thing is that I made her an Ariel top using the same pattern and she loved it.

You do realize, don't you, that the above (all or part) is going to be hard for the tag fairy to resist? :rotfl2:

OMG!!!!!
I didn't even realize when I was typing the "other" meaning for BM!!!!!!:scared1: Hello? Total blonde moment!!!!!:rotfl:

Ok, I wanted to make one of the face dresses that everyone makes, but my daughter is just too little right now. The face is as big as she is, so this is what I made. I plan to save the projects until she gets a little bigger.

th_DSC_0009.jpg

Too cute!!!

considering keeping it to use as fabric. What do you think is the print to big?
th_001.jpg
I really like it! I don't think it looks too big.
Hey, I just noticed that I haven't seen T-beri on here for a while? Where did she disappear to? Anyone know?
I was wondering about her too.

I have been lurking here off and on for the last month or so and have to say thanks for all the inspiration. Prior to visiting this thread, I made costumes for my girls to wear to the princess tea on our last trip to WDW. But thanks to many ideas I have gotten here, I plan to have several outfits made for each of them by our next trip.

Here are the costumes I made last year... (I knew better than to show my face without a photo attached I did not make my son's pirate costume - I had run out of steam by that point.

YEAH!!! You posted pictures!!! Good Girl! Those are some fantastic outfits!!! I'm not sure which one I love more, they are both gorgeous!!! You really have some skills!

I finally finished Kenzie's AK outfit

I sewed all morning because of a snow day!!!!!!!!! Now I just need to start on the other 101 things I need to do.:rolleyes1

I love them!!!! Animal Kindgdom outfits always make me smile!

It's so funny to think you snowed in making animal kingdom outfits for some reason.
:snooty: I see NOTHING humorous about that WHATSOEVER!!!

Florida weather snob! :snooty:

:fish:
Shirring help how do I do this? Is there a tutorial? thanks in advance

Yep, lots and lots and lots of tutorials in the bookmarks. Pretty much anything you would ever look for is in the bookmarks. :thumbsup2

Wow Utahmama! You are even cooler than I thought:cool1: Didn't you know that only the cool mama's Cloth diaper. No offense to you other mama's (I am JK!)

I cloth diapered Corey exclusively, can I bee 1/3 cool??? I used cloth on Arminda some. But, I nursed for a total of 7 1/2 years, does that give me some points??? Can I please be a little bit cool, can I please????

OK, here was the totally awesome gift from Flea!
I couldn't take a pic of Julia in just the diaper because it is COLD here!
I wish you could all see it. It has pink fleece with flowers on the inside that is sooooo soft, and the snaps on the front have cute little butterflies on them. SO CUTE!
th_julia155.jpg

Look at the super cute tink print!! I just love it!
How cute is that!!! Now if I had cool diapers like THAT I might have used cloth on Lyddy too!
Teresa,
This turned out so cute. I am just stock piling my Minnie Dot in fear that I will never find it again! I am just too scared to cut into it and ruin it! That said I see that you have used your serger. I think that you have the Singer Serger too, what settings did you use for your hem at the bottom? I am very frustrated with getting my serger on the right settings for a hem like that. ANyone else have any recommendations I have the singer model from Walmart! Thanks

Thanks!!!! I know what you mean about the Minnie dot!!! You don't see it for so long, it's hard to believe that it will come back! Be brave, you can cut it!!!

For that hem on the serger, I used the settings that were in the book for the rolled hem. I just tried to find my book so I could tell you, but it's gone missing at the moment. I put the stitch width just above the F and you have to remember to put that seam width guide (I think that's what it's called anyway!) to R. I am having a hard time adjusting the tension for the regular overlock stich though. I keep working on it, and have almost got it where I want it. I would love to take it somewhere where they could show me exactly how to do it though.

Norah (who's 3 and a half) is still wetting at night (soaking) so we use Pull Ups. BUT I wish I new of some GOOD nighttime panties. Keep your eye out for me, Flea! Nikky has some but their super expensive. Bumkins (I think) has some that are way too thick. I'll have to do some googling. I want her to FEEL wet. Pull Ups are cute but using 2 a day (one for nap) can get spendy.
.

Lydia still wets the bed. We use "side closing panties". Which are actually size 6 diapers. Shhh don't tell Lyddy! I convinced her to wear those a year or so ago (but it was size 5 then!) She says they are a lot more comfortable than the pullups too. She always complained about the pullups being too itchy. We usually get the cheap Walmart brand or from Meijer. It has saved us a lot of money!

Bare Minerals question. I never wear foundation- just blush, light eye shadow, and mascara. All the foundation I've tried makes me get pimples. I am prone to pimples, but also have dry skin- Ugh! Anyway, is this stuff good for acne prone 33 year olds?

Hmmmm...I am acne prone myself and I have not had any trouble. The whole Bare Min selling point is that it is 100% pure, natural minerals. something like "so pure you can sleep in it". If you go to an Ulta or Sephora, they will do a "Makeover" on you to try colors. Wear it for the afternoon and see how your skin does before you commit:)

Thanks for everyone's kind comments on the girls' dresses. I don't think people who have not sewed realize the time and effort that goes into making this stuff! Even if I think it is fun and satisfying! LOL!

I love the cute Tink diaper cover. But, it isn't as precious as the model!

The patchwork head, I pieced it together, and ironed it on a stabilzer, the heat and bond stuff. Then I ironed it on the dress, put the stabilizer under the dress, and I zigzagged around the patches. It was really easy. I liked how it turned out.

Thanks for the explanation!

You do realize, don't you, that the above (all or part) is going to be hard for the tag fairy to resist? :rotfl2:

:rotfl: :rotfl2: :rotfl:
Thanks for the input guys. I am going to go ahead and put it up. The blue sheets I have match the underside of the comforter fine so I can live with that. :)

On a side note I just found out I am REALLY not going to be around much anymore. I am getting a 10 day old baby most likely on Friday she is under 4 lbs so a lot of my time. :) I am so excited though. There is a chance she will stay with us forever. Please say prayers. Ooh, prayers are coming your way! I hope that you get to keep her, all babies deserve a good loving home!
