It's hard to follow Aimee's Evil Queen, but here's one thing I've done lately. This is for my dgd2. I need to get dd2 to try it on, but here it is for now.

I also made some of these for dd2 to wear with her Minnie outfits. Since I took this pic, I've added red/white ribbon for laces. Looks really cute!

I've also created a 3pc Cruella DeVil outfit for dd7 to wear to MGM, but I can't show it yet.

I also made these for a friend to go with her Dumbo shirt instead of a skirt.

DEANN ROCKS!!!

I love all your cute new outfits. The bunny is my favorite. Don't be upset if a chocolate bunny outfit shows up in our house K? You know I cannot decide if I like the skirt or the jeans better. They are so cute.

DD is too funny about the chicken park. She loves it. I do not think Daddy even took her to eat their I think they just played! She asked me if she could wear the outfit to school today but it is 34 degrees so I do not think so.

Hey, I was thinking about doind another villain to go with the skirt. What one would you do?

Of course I won't be upset, although I know you'd do a much better job than I did!!! LOL

With those colors, I'd definitely do Ursula!!!

i used the MCcalls pattern and i had a hard time lining the notches up too i had to Magyver it I will not use this pattern again instead i am gonna Try Simplicity 3852

I am glad I am not the only one. The first time I made it, I thought I did something wrong, so I tried to make a second shirt and double check all my notches/circles and still, it didn't match up. I have a Butterick pattern as well, so maybe I will try that next...I tried the McCall's one first because it said "easy" on it.

Very cute!!! Is that Michael Miller Aqua Peaceful Water fabric?

Bobbie ... do you see this? ;)

I don't know what the fabric is, but DD wanted the skirt to look like her bottom 'tail' was in the water and all the fishes were around her. I know others have used this same fabric. I was oing to do the blue in the middle or even a ruffle at the bottom, but she wanted that 'water' effect.

Do not be silly!!!

Can you give me any tips on the shoes? I bought the same pair to do bling shoes. I wanted to do them for the P&PP. I just have never done anything like them. I have the steps but did you find any tricks that worked. Thanks!

There were a bunch of cute outfits at the end of the other thread, but I didn't want to add to it since we had moved.

Flea - your DD is just beautiful and great job on your outfit!!

Heather - Both the cars shirt and Sebastian came out so cute! I love how you used the blue bubbles with Sebastian.

This is fabulous!! That skirt looks so time consuming. :worship:

This came out great! I love that water fabric too!

Welcome back Deann!! I love the outfit and the jeans too! I can't wait to see Cruella.

Just for the record, that chocolate bunny I did was not my idea to begin with. It is defitely CASEd :)

About the shoes, I just used E6000 and a pair of tweezers. Not really any tricks ... a piece of advice though, keep your crystals in something and not just on the table!!!!! They are easily knocked off and lost! Especially the little 3mm size. How do I know this, you ask? LOL

Thanks so much for everyones kind words about my Evil Dress! LOL

It was very time consuming!!!! The pattern was a little tricky to understand. You also have to do a rolled hem to be successful. I sewed 82 rolled hems. It was a labor of love indeed. My daughter loved it and I was a little worried this outfit might give the surprise away. When she was finished trying it on she asked me two questions.

1. Can I wear it to the Chick Fila playground?
2. So, what's next?

I about fell on the floor. I told her of course you can wear it to the "chicken park" and the fairy godmother is next. I swear I do not know what to do when I have 10 days in WDW where I cannot sew anything! LOL

that skirt is definetly a labor of love. I did one of those skirts and I am not planning to do another in the near future. a ton of work!

I lost my mulit quotes :(

The comment about Zoe's hair is just rude an uncalled for. I mean really how personal and childish can you get.

I LOVE the cupcake skirt, so very cute.

OH MY GOODNESS!! That evil queen outfit is too die for!!

I started sewing yesterday and finished my very first project. A pillow case! It is sham style :)

Before I cut up my patterns for an outfit, I was hoping maybe someone could answer my question. It got lost on the other thread :( How do you trace your patterns so you can reuse them and different sizes??

TIA!

Yep, it's open all year round! And I hear you on the whole Dr. thing. My little sister almost died several years ago. She was pregnant, in pain, passing out and bleeding and the Dr. blew her off. She finally made it into the ER with a blood pressure somewhere around 40/20--like nearly dead. :headache: She had a ruptured ectopic pregnancy and had to have in-vitro to concieve her daughter.
How awful!! That must have been so scary for you both.

She's such a beautiful girl and I love the dress! It's great when people use the free tutorials!!

Adorable!!!

After I had DD9, I went to the emergency room with symptoms of a heart attack. The pain in my chest was so intense and made me double over. I couldnt breath. Well, they said it was just heart burn and gave me some test with radioactive stuff (so I couldnt nurse for three days..ouch). Anyways, I had every classic symptom of gall bladder stones. I read up on it later and diagnosed myself. After another attack, I made an appointment with my doctor and insisted on an ultrasound. And....there they were. Tons of stones. I had it taken out! ;)
Isn't it amazing how bad heart burn can hurt? :rotfl: I'm so glad you were your own health advocate and had this taken care of!!

Was it origionally from this list? What bothers me, that every time we have an "issue" with something, the owner mysteriously has to join to complain. I think there was something with a pattern someone wanted to share? And a few other things. I'd like to know who the trouble maker is!!!
Nah, we'll just ignore all trouble makers and stay with our fun, positive feel on this thread!

There's that little cutie patootie! I love the whole outfit!

For those of you making button down shirts for your ds..which pattern do you use? I use a McCall pattern, and for some reason, I just can't seem to match up the notches and dots for the sleeves....yet when I put the pattern on my fabric, I have marked them all correctly. I tried another boys top this past weekend, and again...I have problem matching up notches/dots on the sleeves again...so I am thinking it must be me...doing something wrong or not understanding the pattern?
I used Simplicity 4760. It's one of the father/son patterns. I had a problem with the sleeves (I've never made anything with sleeves without having a problem or 2, besides peasant tops). The sleeve circumfrence was way bigger than the hole it was supposed to be sewn to. I don't know if I was supposed to gather it or what (pattern didn't say). So, I just sewed it on without gathering and then cut off the extras on the end. It seemed to work okay! I sewed the sleeves on before I sewed up the side seams.

Wow!! This is the coolest thing you've ever made! It's so original! Tessa is askeered of it! :rotfl:

How cute! I love 'em!

Do any of you have any good links or instruction on how to make an adult skirt?? I found this fabric I just LOVE. . . and I want a simple skirt, though not just a tube a straight/form fitting. . . any ideas or suggestions would be great. . .
There are TONS of adult skirt patterns in the bookmarks!

How adorable!!!

That outfit turned out really cute! Why do I want chocolate all of a sudden? :rotfl: I LOVE the bling on the shoes!!!!!

How cute! Were these for Maureen's DD?

I just wanted you all to know that I HATE HATE HATE sewing by hand!!!!

I worked on Sawyer's Prince Charming outfit for 3 hours yesterday. I'm sewing on braiding and such. It has to be done by hand and it's taking forever and as I mentioned, I HATE sewing by hand!!

There, just had to vent!

I do have a question- when using braiding and fancy trim, how do you keep it from coming unraveled? At the store, they taped the ends before they cut it, but I don't want tape on his outfit. I tried hot glueing the ends, but it looks stupid.

Someone (sorry, I don't remember who) suggested "Pattern ease" and that's what I have been using ever since. You can find it with the interfacing and stabilizer. I got mine from Hancock since our Joann's didn't have them.

I can't wait to see the Prince Charming outfit. DH wants me to make a prince charming outfit for ds. I wonder if Dritz Fray Check will work on the trim?

Jenny

Heather -- definitely Fray Check should work. That is what I use on all of my ribbon.

The scarriest one of all.....MALEFICENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

She would totally go with the skirt! Especially when she is standing holding up her arms with her big nasty wand/spector/stick thingy!!! Her dress is kind of "ragged" around the edges like the skirt, and she is purple. That would be an easy fit. PLUS I happen to know someone who just sold an Aurora outfit, that knows how to make really good Aurora's, that could "go with" the Maleficent outfit too!

Have you tried melting the ends with a lighter? That is what I do to rick-rack and ribbon to keep it from fraying.

OMG - I love the evil queen!!!

And the Dumbo! That is awesome! My dd 3 loves Dumbo and I can never find any custom sets....are either of you on ebay?

everyone on these threads do such fantastic work...wish I had a sewing machine!
