Elisa: I miss you already!

Heather: that is a work of art! I am so jealous of your creativity. First Cinderella's dress with the birdie and now this; you are so talented!

I had the worst day today, all of it my own fault. We have a school carnival in the spring put on by the PTA and anyone with a business was invited to donate something to be auctioned off. Of course I decide today that I need to do this and they are due tomorrow. So I run over to JoAnns and look at fabric. It would be so much easier if I wasn’t so indecisive. I thought some thing princess, but then I worried that it wouldn’t appeal to the non Disney-obsessed. So I went back and forth and then I settled on drama queen monkey fabric. It seems monkeys are very popular these days and Lori's outfit is so cute. So I buy it and get it home and can’t decide what kind of dress to make. An a-line seems too babyish for elementary school girls. I finally find something on :wizard: that I like so I copy it. Only I screw it up, royally. And the more I try to fix it the worse it looks. Fortunately, all the mess is on the inside but at this point there is no way I would give it anyone. Megan is happy she has a new dress though. So I took pictures and sent them in and asked for more time so I can make another one. Next week is spring break and we are going to Disney. So when we get back I just have to make another one and not screw it up this time!

My sinuses are bothering me big time and no one is sleeping very well, so I am super cranky. Yesterday someone asked me if I was sunburned because my face looked weird. No, just swollen because of my sinuses!

Here is Megan's new dress:

Can I tell you it took me several minutes of looking at it to figure out that I made it? After the first post to Aunt Heather (which didn't tip me off) I thought why does that sig look so familiar? Do I know her? I had to click on properties and check out where the picture came from before I figured it out. How embarassing! :rotfl:

Hi Arminda, I'm glad you like your sig! I hope Aunt Heather makes you a peter pan top, it is the cutest thing!

Well, I was skimming posts and Little saw this and threw her hand on thescreenand said "I LOVE THIS OUTFIT!" I didn't even know she knew the word outfit:rotfl: so I guess this is a definite- the patterns are so versitile too- they'll be a nice addition to my collection!

Finally found a minute to post actual pics of the little einsteins outfits I made for the kiddos :)

Gabi's dress is Carla C's simply sweet tops and dresses and her bottoms are easy fit pants by Carla C, both from YCMT. I digitized and embroidered a "Rocket" lookalike on the bodice for her.

I snuck a hidden mickey in on her pants for fun

Cam has the same Rocket design on his top and he has Carla's easy fit pants made into shorts length for his bottoms. The pants have a mickey head embroidery and a pocket with a little einstein's flap. The denim fabric is an old shirt of DH's that I recycled. Can you say ready made pocket???

Apparently Great Lily's think alike!!! Little saw this

Ne'r mind....HERE there shouldbe a picture of one very adorable girl named Lily in her Cinderella Zuma outfit but I don't have the patience to go back and try it again, besides, Little is fading fast and insisting on twirling my ears!!

and said..." I want to be that one!!!!" Whose idea was it to case those Princess Zuma's anyway??? Jeesh! At least I know it was a good idea. Planning on doing an Ariel one for her Mermaid B-day, looks like we'll need a cindy one too...SHUCKS, I really wanted to do Snow white. EH, what'r'ya gonna do?

That's the knot purse that was free at youcanmakethis.com, I just left off the knot.

I spotted the doxie!!!:goodvibes

love the cute pink dress!!!:thumbsup2

Hee! Can you tell that dog is always underfoot, I don't even notice him anymore. Hey, my marker-toed daughter wants to know if your marker-tasting stepson is looking for a girlfriend. The last boyfriend she had tried to give her pinkeye!

I was also a little shocked at some of the language in Horton Hears a Who!

I'm not sure if that stuff was to keep adults entertained...but it seemed a bit much for the audience it was targeted at. I was glad that my step son just doesn't pay attention enough to really get that kind of thing...my step daughter on the other hand kept whispering

"That's bathroom humor!":lmao:

then she kept count on her fingers how many times she heard a word that wasn't "appropriate" by her 8 year old standards!

she is a rule follower that girl!

Good to know that Sally Rally is consistent when applying rules! :thumbsup2

Yes, I've been reading your Trip Report! *LOL*

Heather made Sawyer a Prince Charming costume. Corey wouldn't let me make him one. Go figrue! :confused3 Heather used a pattern that had Captain Hook on it, I believe. I think she might have posted it. If she doesn't post soon, I will try to find it for you.

I was surprised that my nephew was willing to wear one. :lovestruc

Megan loves the purse and has already filled it with disney toys!

1. Found the Dog! (It's officially a game :lovestruc in the tradition of Where's Waldo)
2. What is that purse pattern? I NEED simple too, plus I have to copy what Jham does.
3. I love that drama monkey fabric!
4. That Tink outfit is adorable!!!!
5. Hi Megan!!!!!!! Your mommy needs chocolate and a hug

I have been MIA for a while. Sorry! I haven't even been lurking, so I missed a LOT in the last week or so.

Teresa told me that someone asked what pattern I used for Sawyer's Prince Charming outfit. I used Simplicity 9862, the Captain Hook costume (just the jacket). I shortened the sleeves and the jacket length. I also straightened out the bottom (it bells out at the bottom for Captain Hook, but I just cut the fabric straight down for Prince Charming). For the pants, I just used a pajama bottom pattern with an elastic waist.

I am so grateful to everyone on here who is praying for Barbara, my SIL. It's been so hard for all of us, especially dealing with the uncertainty. Thank you so much for your support. :grouphug:

PrincessKell: I don't know exactly what is going on because I just saw one of your posts, but I want you to know that I am thinking of you. You and Georgia must be going through a lot right now.

CastleCreations:Yikes! That's scary! We'll miss you around here. I hope everything gets taken care of soon!

Do you have a picture of the final product? I wanted to get an idea of what it would look like.

Is it just me...

or does anyone else feel the need to close their eyes when they get down to the bottom of the page? I feel like I'm looking at some kind of men's magazines with some of the google ads at the bottom of the page! :rotfl2:

Totally! But now it's some other ad, whew!

I just got done with a Giselle dress for Jenna. I was in a Giselle mood because of the release of the movie today. DD watched it twice already. I just uploaded the picture to Photobucket and realized that Giselle looks naked. DH agrees with me too. Do you guys think it would look funny if I added some chenelle or something to make it look like clothes or should I just leave it?

S2010112.jpg

You've probably already done what you're going to do, but just in case...

What about some ribbon to look like straps? The position of the skirt makes it look a bit like a dress bodice.

Sorry about the large photo quote. I need to go back and read the directions to create a thumbnail! *LOL*

I love both the outfits. The monkey fabric is so cute...I have never seen that before! The little purse is so cute too...is that the same pattern as the free YCMT pattern?

Now that this is done I can get started on my first Disney outfit!!
I think a ruffled top and shorts.....

The outfit and the ruffles look great!

I'm almost done with a minnie dot jumper (and matching Build-A-Bear dress), too. Hopefully I'll finish them today.

I love this!!! How creative and talented of you. I would have never thought of doing something like this.

Barbara update: She just called me and told me that the sonogram they did on her left breast a few days ago was clear. The cancer they have already found is in her right breast.

After Teresa forwarded a very helpful PM from CampbellScott (thank you so much:hug:). to me, I called and made Barbara an appointment with an oncologist at our local cancer center. Then, I called her and let her know she had an appointment. She seemed really glad that I did that for her. I didn't want to overstep the boundaries, but I also really wanted her to see an oncologist. Barbara is mildly mentally challenged and also deaf, so it's really hard for her to communicate with doctors. My brother is really stressed out about everything and doesn't seem to know what to do. So, I really hope they don't mind us "interfering".

I went back and read all the well-wishes and prayers that are being sent our way. You guys are so wonderful. :grouphug:

I will be keeping your family, especially your SIL in my prayers! I think it is great that you made her an appointment with an oncologist. You and Teresa are a great SILs!

5. Hi Megan!!!!!!! Your mommy needs chocolate and a hug

1. Yay you!
2. That is the knot purse from ycmt.com, I just left off the the knot.
3. It is awesome, I'm almost glad I messed up because M really like it.
4. Thanks! I didn't make her many new things for this trip, but she picked out the fabric and design so she's happy. And she has a place to put her things, which is very important.
5. Just put her to bed for the fifth time. She is as cranky as me. Chocolate for both of us! Thanks for the hug.

I love both the outfits. The monkey fabric is so cute...I have never seen that before! The little purse is so cute too...is that the same pattern as the free YCMT pattern?

Yes, I just left off the knot. I was going to put ribbon around the top instead but the color clashed with the pink sparkly fabric so I left it off.

Hey everyone, the outfits look great.

   for Kell, Teresa, and Heather. I am still keeping you guys in my thoughts.

I have been sewing up a storm the past few days. I cut out all of Spencer's shorts for our trip today, picked the shirts to go with them, and he picked his characters for the tees. Tomorrow, i will close myself up in the basement and start the embroidery machines going. :thumbsup2

Now, The other bigr eason I popped in here is to send a HUGE THANK YOU to Elisa and Lori. I was the luckyy recipient of the Aurora dress and Lori's queen of hearts dress. Brianna LOVES them, to the point that she ALREADY put them in her suitcase. I'm a little sad that she has been asking for outfits made by other people (I wear things you make all the time mommy, buying ones are special!), but I couldn't ask for nicer ones. thank you so so much.

I'll try to take pics and post later. I know I haven't been around much, but I am doing so much, I am barely keepign up on my owm PTR!! Enjoy all, and keep the lovely outfits coming!!

Stephers- if thats what "messed up" looks like I cant wait to see the next one!

To everyone who has written kind comments about my butterfly dress- thank you. I can only hope that she gets at least an inch taller by May 29th- it was supposed to fall right at or just a hint below her knees.....
The chest part fits well at least.
I am soo tired, I dont know whats up but DD22months keeps waking up at 6am, at which point I try to coax her to go back to sleep- sometimes breaking out the "bottles" with milk- just to have 15 more min of sleep. Unfortunately DH is a late nighter, so I end up staying up with him til 12:45. Tonight I MUST go to bed earlier. And then Ill be fresh tomorrow afternoon to pick which Disney fabric Im going to use and which pattern...

I also just ordered this...(not the white pettiblouse)
c5_1_b.JPG

and a similar pattern with different shoulders in a Pooh border fabric thats been discontinued.
and this
