So here is a picture of DD's school shirt that I made her last night.
S2010072.jpg

You can't see the detail in the pic because it is red on red but there is a really cute decorative stitch on the bottom of the sleeves, the shirt bottom and the collar. I also made the bows.

So this is not as impressive of the things you all make, but I am rather proud of it - I made the dress and panties (to cover diapers) without a pattern. I think they came out rather well being from my imagination!!

I would like to thank everyone for the tip to use sulky tear away and embroidery thread for applique's - though the are still not perfect - WHAT A DIFFERENCE. . . I still have issues doing curved lines. . . but i'll get better with practice :) I did the butterfly for the diapered bootie first and the duck second - so the duck came out better :)

Oh my gosh, how cute! Kinda 70's vintage-ish cute cute cute!

I must get me some Sulky tear away. I'm planning a PEEP aplique. How hard can that be, right? :scared:

ok, so we are vacationing in April, as you all know. And those nemo subs are awesome! So I did another little nemo outfit for jojo. Of course in my Couture Taylor TuTu.
The pics are a little bright. took pics at night w/ no natural light. and jojo is not available till saturday for modeling!

That is a really cute top! Buttons and everything, very impressive!

Did you LOVE it? I need to hook you up with my SIL's, they are CRAZY for those books, and don't get me wrong, I LOVE them! BUT! These gals are going a little cuckoo for coco puffs...their husband's are worried they're going to leave them for "Edward"...yes, a fictional character, but still!!!:rotfl:
Hurry up and read "Eclipse"! Then you'll be dying for August 8th and number 4 to come out!!!!

It's Diet Coke that makes them calorieless, my dear, or even Coke Zero can do that for ya in a pinch...have I taught you nothing? YET? And still we're friends, it's amazing we can maintain our friendship w/such different tastes in diet soda! :lmao: Major craving for some DIET COKE, and a Cadbury Cream Egg...good lord, could I be pregnant? again? :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Of course I LOVED them. I don't think DH needs to worry though. :lmao: I'm cold too much of the time to want anyone who's not warm blooded. :rotfl: I'm having to wait on the library for Eclipse. Do we have a foot tapping smiley??? I'm not waiting patiently.

BTW, I don't want ANY diet drink, but Coke is WAAAAYYYYY better then Pepsi. ;)

I love your Nemo...it's really cute. I saw large premade appliques at JoAnn's and almost bought the Nemo one. I should have...I have some Nemo fabric at home that would have matched perfectly. We did buy the Tink one, for Ireland.

For those that like the Farbenmix patterns, I just found this yahoo group...

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/FarbStudioTantrumGroup/

They do group buys on the patterns. They have completed an order for February, but I think there will be another one in March. I've got my wish list started :thumbsup2

And for those recently asking about what to trace a pattern onto, one of the ladies in this Yahoo group had a great suggesstion - here is part of her message:
I use soil separator cloth for my patterns. You can get it at Lowes
(not Home Depot though). It is in the plumbing section with the
drainage supplies. It is used to lay down as a sort of filter for
drain fields, etc. You get a huge roll of it for about $20. When I say
huge, I mean it -- about 50 yards or so.

That's an adorable outfit and I'm totally impressed that you did it all without a pattern!

Wow, that looks like a difficult project. It turned out perfect, though! Great job!

We had a visitor in the garage yesterday...I had to get it out or it would die. When it landed on our butterflybush, I ran over and took a few pictures of it. It was absolutely huge!! The butterfly bush blooms yellow and attracts a lot of butterflies in the right season...Winter isn't the right season, but hey..maybe this one was confused..

I realized when I was halfway through appliqueing that I didn't put the stabilizer on the back of the fabric! Luckily it didn't pucker!

I still have to finish the bodice, it is just pinned, and put on the straps. I think it has turned out pretty! Yay!

Great job! The appliques look fantastic!

Maybe Spring is right around the corner! I sure hope so! How big was this butterfly? It looks huge!

Hello there I am really out of the loop I didn't know the thread moved again. I am glad I found it. I have been away for a while. Trying to keep up with a first grader and twin 2 year olds is really hard work right now. I do get to peek at all the great things being shared but by the time I go to post someone is getting into trouble. I just bought fabric for the twins birthday dresses from joanns it's not Disney but it's very pretty. I also was told by my wonderful hubby to just put the sewing machine in the darn cart and go pay for it. So this weekend I came home with the brother ce-4000. Heather knows what a big deal a new sewing machine means to me my other one didn't even have guide lines or a satin stitch. It was bad. The bobbin was always sticking strings breaking. I spent more time with the seam ripper than sewing. If anyone has this one of theses sewing machines do you have any tips on using. Thanks in advance. I hope to be around more. Thanks for listening to my ramble.

WOW! That's gorgeous! How cool!

KARAMAT - Thanks for sharing the info about the Farbermix patterns. I'm gonna check that out!

So cute! I love the style of your skirts!

Thank you so much!

So what pattern is it that you use to make these adorable skirts? Would it be really hard for a newbie sewer?

Honestly When I first started these it took a lot of time. tons of gathering etc. but as time has gone on I have made over 50 of these now and they are easy for me now.

I have got to try this type of outfit! Great job and can't wait to see them on Jojo.

She will put them on saturday for pics

LOVE the monkeys! I'm particularly fond of the second print - with the monkeys in tutus! :rotfl: That is really cute!

I'm sure you've said it before, but what pattern do you use for the skirt? Is it the tutu skirt from YCMT?
Very cute! We're Nemo lovers in this house, this would go over big here!

It is the YCMT with a modified waist.
