I am currently sitting in the waiting room of Teresa's oral surgeon. She's having several teeth taken out. One of them was infected really bad and the infection was spreading throughout her body. So she had been feeling really lousy for a while. I'm not sure exactly what they're doing to her today. It'll be a few weeks before they give her a bridge with her new teeth. So, she's really self-conscious about missing a few teeth for a while. Poor Teresa. She looks beautiful no matter what.

Tell Teresa I hope she feels better soon. I had 7 out at one time last October so I can empathize completely! She will feel better for getting those infected ones out though.

My2TinksGorgeous outfit!

Lori, I'll have to go and see it. I wonder if I can convince my dad to take the small person and actually go see it by myself... that sounds like a plan!

Delaney did great at the dentist today, she had three cavities, they were all relatively small and she was out of the chair within a half hour. They gave her a little laughing gas and then they even numbed on side with novocaine, she just told Delaney she was going to push on her gum with her finger and then said she'd stuck her with her finger nail. Delaney bought it and is none the worse for wear, I'm glad it went off so well.

Now, I've got to finish catching up...

Laura- Love everything you posted, BUT, the organized sewing space made my heart a-flutter :lovestruc I love organized spaces!!!!

Have you read Margaret George's "Autobiography of King Henry VIII"? It's a good read, written from Henry's point of view (of course he was terribly misunderstood). She's done a couple of others - Mary, Queen of Scots; Cleopatra (one of my all time favorite books); Mary Magdelene... They're all big books - but well worth the time (except maybe Mary Magdelene, that one got a little weird).

No, I hadn't read those, I've just added them to my list. Thanks! My book list is a little short these days.

I just started a book about Bess (Throckmorton) Raleigh, Sir Walter Raleigh's wife, she was a lady in waiting to Elizabeth I and she and Raleigh married in secret and were banished from court.

One of these days I'll be able to catch up on my movies because I haven't seen Elizabeth the Golden Age yet either. I might just have to pick that up at Target this afternoon....

You ladies have certainly been busy! Here is the latest that I've finished. I wasn't sure if Drew would be interested in wearing the shirred top, but she said she loved it!

Wow! Very beautiful! Such a high end boutique look!

I almost bought that same fabric. With DD's middle name Rose, we tend to use alot of rose fabrics! I might have to go back and pick some up!

I am definitely going to try the double sided serged ruffle thing!
Great job!

DD will not wear shirring that is all the way around her body. She has an aversion to anything tight on her! :sad2:

I love looking at all the beautiful, beautiful items you all make by hand! I wish I had half your talent. I'm currently taking a sewing class, because I can only make a pillowcase ( and being my age- I already forgot the way the lady showed me-duh) and tab cortains! I'm soo inspired by you all.I love all the pics I get to see. Keep up all your hard work-your an insipation for those of us that are sewing challanged!

First of all I am in the middle of the posts that I missed out on the last 3 days. So far excelent work everyone. Now on to my big ??? today.

Has anyone every made a Higgleytown Heroes applique or outfit. I bought all the play sets for the twins bday and I thought it would be cute to make a top or outfit for them. I have until may to come up with something or just let it go.:confused3 TIA

It's fixed! I took her to a pediatric dentist today, and they did an x-ray and said that she doesn't appear to have damaged the permanent tooth. Also, the broken part was only the enamel, so no damage to the dentin or nerve!! They roughed her little tooth up a bit and then squirted this goop on it and shaped it to look like the other tooth. Then they put that blue light thingy on it to harden it up. And just like that, she looks brand new! She was sooooo good, didn't fuss, cry, pull away, or anything. I was such a proud mama!

Here is my July 4th outfit I just completed! It was nice and warm and sunny today! So we have all our doors open and It is so nice out. Can't wait for the parades this year!

Look at you being SO ahead of the game- I bet that outfit will go over good on :wizard:.
It is very cute BTW and I love the red & blue fabric.
She is SO smiley!! Very cute sheet dress!!

Now if only it will warm up enough that we don't have to wear heavy Eskimo-type coats with them
Those are great I love the eyelet fabric. Yes let's hope there won't be full winter gear necessary for easter!!
A little while ago I picked up DD from my grandparents and I was talking to them about DD's PPP surprise and they jokingly said that they wanted to come with us to WDW. Well I think that is a great idea and said "Yeah, if ya'll are serious let me know and I'll book everything for ya'll." Well then my grandpa says "nah. I'd rather go to Alaska." Well he is planning on taking my grandma on an Alaskan cruise this summer and they want to take DD with them. So DD not only gets to go to WDW for a week, but she also gets to go to Alaska on cruise ship. That's not fair, but I do get to make some really cute cruise outfits for DD.
Oh how fun- Lucky girl!!! There have been some really great nautical outfits- but I bet you already knew that!! :rotfl:
Is anyone else having a hard time with the time change, I usually go to bed around 12:30 and it still feels like that but its 1:30 in the morning. Great.

Tomorrow Delaney has to go to the dentist and have her cavities taken care of, Im a little nervous, she's not quite 4 and the dentist told me not to prepare her for it because she'd expect more of what she did a few weeks ago and that she wouldn't understand what is going to happen. I guess we'll see if she was right, if she's wrong, she's the one who will ultimately pay the price for me not prepping her, keep your fingers crossed for me.

I plan on starting to sew again tomorrow. I'm finally feeling better and I really want to do something, Im tired of house cleaning.
Yes about the time change!!
Fingers crossed for the dentist- for everyone!!
Oh I see your update- Great Job Delaney!! :cheer2:

Ok I am FINALLY caught up.... for now! ;)

Good job Edie!

Such a beautiful girl in a pretty jumper!!! How cool that she sewed some of it herself!! I love the mental image of her sitting on your lap and applique-ing it. How sweet!:lovestruc

OK, DISers, I need help. My dd has beautiful custom Disney clothes and DS only has one thanks to another DISer. I need DS some cute custom stuff. Any ideas?
Take a look at the photobucket site. There's tons of cute stuff on there! Everything that's been posted in all of these disboutique threads should be on there!

Poor thing!! I hope she'll be feeling no pain for the next little while! Tooth pain and infection is some of the worst kind of pain in this world! You are a good sister to wait! I went with my little sister when she had a terribly infected wisdom tooth. The oral surgeon came out and said she was asking for me. When I went in she said: "Sissy will you sing to me?":lmao: High as a kite...you know what she wanted to hear?! A song from Mary Poppins...the Stay awake song! So I sang to her. The Oral surgeon was cracking up laughing...said we were a first!

There is something about sisters.

Wishing your sis no pain and a speedy recovery!!:goodvibes
There is just something about sisters!! How sweet that you sang to yours!!! They didn't have to knock Teresa out, so she looked pretty good when they were done. But, she was starting to feel some pain a few hours later.

Heather...Tell Teresa I'm jealous of her new diet! (Trying to look for the good of having teeth pulled!)

Love, Pollyanna
I read your post to her and it made her laugh through the gauze.

I plan to make diego outfits for ds and dn, we'll see how long that takes
I gotta get on the easter outfits too!!
How cool that you got paid to sew!!!! I love the Dora outfit! Tessa has a pillowcase that looks similar to that Dora on the jumper ;)

I just bought some super-cute dark blue Diego fabric at WalMart. It was shoved way up high on a shelf and was only $2/yard!! I don't know what to make with it yet. I guess I'll wait and see what you do!

I love the Nemo outfits- too cute! I'm also loving that Disney Store shirt and the matching capris you made!

I love looking at all the beautiful, beautiful items you all make by hand! I wish I had half your talent. Yay! We can't wait until you make something to post for us! Good luck with your sewing class and :welcome:

I'm glad she's all right! What a good girl to sit through it, too!

I just had to pop in and say I don't sew a lick but I love to watch this thread and ooo and ahhhh! I'm a photographer so I do have SOME creative talent, just not with a sewing machine. ;)

Well, I am hesitant to even show you this after seeing beautiful Drew in her shirred outfit, but here goes. I got this cute plaid fabric 40% off at JoAnn's and bought a ton, thinking I would do matching family outfits for Disney in April. I was vetoed by both male members of the family, so here are Megan and me.

Megan wanted mickey heads on the pockets of the shorts (eek white!) but you can't see them! Oh well.

IMG_0118.jpg

Oh, and I made this for a customer's little boy. I thought it came out cute. I bought one of the fancy pliers and did snaps for the first time. It was fun!

IMG_0108.jpg

I will try to catch up later, hope Teresa is home and resting comfortably. I bought Jacob a new tennis racket and he wants me to play with him outside. I think this will consist of me chasing tennis balls around our cul de sac, lol. Hope everyone has a great Monday!

Wow! Looks like eveyone had a busy weekend! I thought I had a huge multi-quote going, but I think my computer ate it, so I will try to remember.

Laura, that Nemo dress is too cute and your fabric organization is awesome! Your sewing space looks great!

spongie, love that dress and so cute that your daughter helped! she looks very proud wearing it!

mytwotinks - love that outfit you posted! so pretty. does it tie around the neck? I think Ella may need something similar! :rolleyes1

Oh, the Dora dress! very cute and the part you did applique looks great!

I know I probably forgot some, but seriously, everything posted is fabulous! I love coming here to check out what everyone's made!

I'm uploading photos right now, so I'll be back in a few and post my newest.

OK, surprise! I made ANOTHER apron top (and have a couple more planned.) They're just so quick and easy and cute - hope you all don't get tired of seeing them! :rotfl:

fell in love with this fabric - it's a little boyish looking, but i still love it!

new and improved and shorter! ties for the back - you know, to prevent the dreaded wet ties!

This is the wrap skirt from YCMT. The sizes only go up to a 3, but I think it would be easy enough to make in a larger size. Oh, and the had it the pageboy also from YCMT.

I love all of your projects. I have a question about the pageboy hat. I bought the hat pattern also, but I don't know what size to use for DD. What size did you use for your DD?

Those are so cute. I love plaid. I told you the snap pliers were easy. I think it is fun too, because they are so fast. DD saw me do it the other day and she said, "That's it?? I could do that." :rotfl:

LOVE the apron top! I love the waist band and tie on the the wrap skirt. Is that how the pattern came, or did you adjust it? I've not paid much attention to the pattern because my DD needs a size 4, but if that is how it comes, I may buy it and attempt an adjustment.
