Disboutiquer's Fabric Swap!

I drove over an hour to my nearest Joann's this past weekend looking for the Mickey Swirl and Toy Story and I was very disappointed with the amount of Disney fabric they had available. I asked if they normally have a larger supply and she said "No, that's actually more than we usually carry." I was so disappointed! Then the panic set in that I may NEVER :scared1: find these two.

It's probably been 2 years since I've seen the Mickey Swirl at JoAnns. The Toy Story has probably been out for a little over a year... my JoAnns still had some last weekend... $8 or $9 a yard.[/QUOTE]

Do you know if all fabric that is in the stores is available on their website? I've never purchased fabric online but I've not been able to find it on their website.

We need a better website that carries licensed prints. It seems like we all will have this problem soon. I realize there are a few that sell licensed prints. That one that Linette buys from comes to mind, but they never have had anything I wanted.
I want a Joann superstore!!! pirate:

You can give her a picture of what you are looking for and she will look for it for you. I think you have the maker of the fabric also. I have noticed that the majority of the Disney print fabric is from Spring.

The superstores aren't all that great at carrying licensed fabric. The 2 within an hour of me usually at most have 3 or 4 choices and some usually flannel if not all of them. I have pretty much resorted to ebay for all my purchases. I hate that though!

We should start a list of any online store that has any licensed prints, I can find anything with a google search, but for some reason I don't have a lot of luck with googling for fabric, I tend to just find a lot of things made from fabric.

I have to say I have been having the same problem lately. And it's not just here in the US. I was even looking at UK sites, because my cousin from Scotland is coming to visit me in June and she said if I find anything there I can order it to her house and she'll just bring it to me to save on int'l shipping. I still haven't found anything. Maybe I'm just not looking right.

It is the same pillowcase!!! I would be willing to trade it for just about anything you have at least 1 1/2 yards of that I could use for summer dresses ect. It has been sitting around for a while and I just can't find anything I love to use it for!

Let me see what I can come up with, I do want the pillowcase. Spring dresses...let me check my stash....or I might even have to go look for something..I am on the hunt for Camo fabric also.

I find Joanns has very limited Disney fabric the past year. I discovered WalMart last year, but we will be losing them in June. I know i have come across some websites that had a lot of Disney- but i figured why bother if I can get stuff at WalMart for $4.44 a yard! (and no shipping)
I dont mind having some "stash" but my Disney collection is really growing because if it's the same fabric online for $6 a yard, plus shipping- Im just not going to buy it. Springs fabric is not the greatest quality and I can't rationalize paying that. I will have to start making stuff in the character's "colors" and adding applique or something if Joann's doesnt pick up the slack of the loss of Walmart- and keep their prices high. i just dont get how WalMart can sell it for so cheap and Joanns is at least $2 more pr yard.

Ill see if I can find the websites I've found in the past.

The fabric sold at Wal-Mart usually has something wrong with it. The colors aren't as bright, the bolt was rolled in an odd way, etc. The lady who cuts the fabric at our Wal-Mart told me this. I told her that I never noticed. She said most people won't, because it's not huge mistakes. IMO the Springs fabric is the same quality as the stuff you get from Hancock's and Joann's. I got some fabric from Joann's online and it frayed worse than the Springs fabric that came from Wal-Mart and Hancock. That's just something that I noticed.

Do you have a Joann super store? The 2 stores in New Orleans both told me they aren't sell licensed character fabric anymore because only the super stores are going to get it. :scared1:
We don't have a super store in Louisiana at all. I am so upset!!
Our Hancock Fabrics doesn't have alot of licensed stuff either.
If only they'd just combine the 2 Joanns and make 1 super center. Did I mention they are on the same street?? They are about 5 miles from each other. Kinda silly me thinks.. :rolleyes1

Two of our smaller Joann's store combined end of last year, and became a Joann Superstore and ever since then, they hardly carry any licensed character fabric. They use to have them when they were a smaller store. Our Hancock on the other hand, has quite a bit of licensed items.

My Hancock has lots more character fabric than my Joann, and what Joann has is usually flannel. Walmart tends to have more disney, but I do notice when the stamping is off on the characters. Oru walmart has a bolt of princess now where the black outline of the faces is off. I swee it a lot at walmart.

Does anyone know anywhere I could get some fabric with the different kids faces on it?? The only thing I can find is the Brown Bear Kids of the World stuff

TIA

I have had no luck locating either of these fabrics locally or on ebay. I'm sure that they have both been discontinued :scared1:. However, I have become obsessed  with NEEDING :rolleyes1 these two fabrics. The Toy Story I would love 1 to 2 yards and the Mickey Swirl I would LOVE a yard of it but would make do w/ a fat quarter if someone had any that they would like to get off their hands. I'm just getting started so I don't have anything to trade but my WM does still have a fabric dept, or I would be more than willing to pay you for it. If someone has any please let me know! Thanks!!

I was just at a Joann's today and I saw the Toy Story Fabric

I happened to be in a city today that had a Hancocks so I stopped to look for Disney fabric. I don't ever find much around me. They had the bright green Buzz fabric and I bought an extra yard of it. It seems like someone on here is always looking for Toy Story fabric. If anyone is interested, I will try to post a pic tomorrow. I would love to trade for some girly Mickey or Minnie or really any of the Disney characters. I'm always looking for Disney character fabric, but my DD isn't that interested in a Buzz outfit.

I would be interested in that Buzz fabric. I have the Nemo fabric used in the skirt of this outfit:

And I have this Mickey fabric that Linnette used in this cool outfit:

Angela, Bernadette, and Nikki. The fabric will be sent out on Tuesday. I will be out of town until Monday night. I wasn't able to make it to the PO Friday.

Sending you a pm with a link to :wizard:

Not sure if we are allowed to post that link?? :wizard:

I'd like the link too, I came here to ask the same question. I was at hancock, Walmart and Joannes today looking for some with no luck.

We don't have a SuperStore in my part of town yet. But they are coming... I overheard the Manager at the JoAnn near my office say that when the SuperStore is built on the SW side of town they will probably close his store and a few others to "consolidate". Too bad... I don't drive to work often, but when I don't carpool I'll usually make a run there at lunch :lmao:

I haven't noticed much of the Disney Licensed prints on either JoAnn or Hancock websites... seems most of the licensed stuff on line is football or colleges.
