Hello everyone!
I've been lurking here off and on for years, so I figured it was about time I went ahead and joined.
Quickie "About Me": I've been in the US Air Force for almost 19 years. I'm currently stationed at Patrick AFB, FL (Cocoa Beach area), but I'm moving to MacDill AFB, FL (Tampa) when I return from this deployment to Djibouti, Africa. I have been all over the world, and across quite a bit of the US in my AF travels. I am originally from South Portland, ME.
I have a wonderful DH (2 years in August) and a beautiful DD who will be 5 in Oct.
About my Disney experience: I have been going to WDW since 1982, when my grandparents started 'snowbirding' in Kissimmee. I can't even tell you how many times I've been to WDW - way too many to count! Since moving to FL, I've gone to WDW at LEAST once a year, but definitely more than that, especially since the discounts/freebies came out for military the last couple of years.
We have gone to MNSSHP for DD's first 4 birthdays (missing it this year thanks to a wedding in TX), and I ran two Disney Endurance Series races last Oct (Race for the Taste 10K and ToT 13K). This fall, I'm running the Wine and Dine 1/2 Marathon - my first 1/2 marathon!
I've stayed at ASMo, ASSp, and SoG - and will be staying at POR for the first time this Oct (SO EXCITED for that one!) - when on property, and have stayed at several off-property sites as well.
While stationed over in Europe, I've also been to DLP a couple of times. That was many years ago, so my memories of that park are dim. I'd love to go again, as well as visit the rest of the Disney Parks (California, Japan, Hong Kong). And I will someday go on a Disney Cruise - I think DD would love it!
Outside of all things Disney, my other 'obsession' is the wonderful Canadian band Barenaked Ladies, or BNL for short. Feel free to ask me any questions about them - I've seen them in concert approx 30-40 times, been on 3 cruises with them (S&D4 sails in Feb 2011!), and even met my husband at one of their NYE concerts in Tampa.
Well, just wanted to get my first post out of the way. I look forward to being a regular poster here at DISboards!
