Disappointed and a bit frustrated too!!! NOT ANYMORE!!!

That isn't true. DVC cannot link room reservations for different room sizes at any resort. If you were moving from a studio to 1 bedroom both at Kidani, they still could not be linked. The room has to be the same type, when they are linked you will get one set of keys covering both reservations. That can't be done with a room change.

Well I am very confused, yet thankful I was able to make reservations. I did have the supervisor tell me that it is the length of stay on property, and that if you are in 1 property it automatically becomes a total length of stay and the reservations are linked for dining at 90 + 10. She then told me that going from Jambo to Kidani was a property change and they are aware it shouldn't be. Not saying she was right, but I was pleased I was able to make reservations. I guess I just believe in
DiznyDi's pixie dust.

It seems to me that each of you are speaking of two different things. DebbieB about linking room reservations in order to stay in the same room and SunnieRN about having your reservations linked to recognize you are an on-property guest for your length of stay to allow dining ressie 90+10 access. Linking may not be the exact term to use for the dining but reports from CRO guests indicate the 2nd that can be done and once again DVC seems to have the challenge.

Glad that you were able to get it worked out SunnieRN! :thumbsup2

And that's just crazy (ridiculous) kristinerice!!!!!

It seems that on this issue, you get a different answer from every CM. I called the main WDW-DINE number last month, and was able to book reservations for my entire 10-day SPLIT stay (two resorts) at 90+10. Critical, since the second stay overlaps the first 4 days of free dining.

My advice would be to try, try again until you get a receptive CM.

As I said earlier it seems to be a dvc problem, according to the supervisor. Glad you got your reservations!!

That's it exactly Kat and the only reason I used the term "linking or linked" is that is what the supervisor called it. And thank you so much!!!!!:goodvibes

BTW - perhaps I missed it but who was finally able to get your reservations to work? MS or Disney Dining?

MS, but I really wonder if I would have had better luck with disney dining, since this seems to be a dvc problem?

I mentioned reading a couple of reports of other people who were able to get their dining ressies while doing a switch and I think that they all had the best luck with MS. MS may have a little more inclination to try and get things resolved to help out members but it may just be CM specific too. :confused3 It looks like we'll have a split stay in Nov. so if this is still a problem I'll try first with member service I guess - assuming I remember to call at 90 days. :rotfl:

lol and I hope ALL the problems are resolved for you by then!!!! What's your 90 day date? I'll send you a p.m.!!!!;)

We plot and plan to make everything perfect, but it seems that each and every time there has to be a fly in the ointment! This whole ADR thing with the free dining debaucle really makes it hard to cheerfull when you hold for 30 minutes only to find out that you can't get your 1st , 2nd etc. etc. choices.

In June, we couldn't make reservations for Le Cellier either, but luckily we walked up and they seated us withing 15 minutes without reservations. I won't/don't vacation during free dining.

You have a right to be irritated!

I feel your pain! We have tried to get ressies at LeCellier for four years now and again this year with no luck!

I called to make ressies this year at 89 days out and couldn't get one ressie that I wanted!!! I think this whole thing is getting ridiculous! I made a couple of ressies, but I don't know if I'm going to keep them, because 3:30 and 4:00 is a little early for dinner. I think we will probably be eating at a few counter services and off site this year!

Rooms can't be linked unless they are all the same unit type AND same reservation type (points vs CRO). My understanding is that anything else is treated as a separate reservation including for dining. It sounds like the OP made the case and got an exception but I wouldn't get too excited for anyone else in the same boat. Certainly doing it based on a single trip is reasonable but they don't have a technical way to do this routinely from what I understand since they pull the info by reservation.
