OK, so I'm behind. Down .8 this week. Sending PM to DizneyDawn right now. Also, what the heck? The old thread is back up! :)

Gotta run for now. I miss my Peeps! :goodvibes

hey, peeps! i hope everyone's been busy eating right and exercising today because it's been awfully quiet around here! hopefully it was pretty where you are. it was cold and rainy here. i'm SO READY for spring weather!!!!

anywayz, the reason i'm posting is because i'm going to see the lion king tomorrow and i'm really excited! :yay: i'll post more when i get home tomorrow night. for now i'm off to bed. :goodvibes

I'm hoping to really reduce the amount of diet Pepsi I'm drinking. This quest started yesterday. I ONLY drank it when I was starting to get a headache. If you knew how much $$$ I spend on my HOOCH every month it would appall you and embarrass me. So I kept drinking water to which I added little packetts of lemon Propel. I didn't do so bad!

Another BIG BIG BIG diet pitfall I'm giving my all to is not eating toast right before bed. WHY I do that I have no idea. I actually save up for it (on ww) :confused3 But it's still a bad habit, I'm on night 3 of no bedtime toast. baby steps.

Lynda, I'm too tired to record you tonight... :flower3: sorry. I'll go through and make sure I got every one recorded tomorrow morning and post the grand totals too.

Love to all of you! Goodnight!

Bravo! Utah Mama! on letting go of the Diet Pepsi!!!! I use to drink Diet Snapples all the time and when I stopped I noticed a big difference on the scale...good luck

Dawn i just noticed your ticker! your trip is in less than 3 weeks!

Well, I'm way late for the weigh in. Didn't exercise at all. Unless you count the squats I did this morning cleaning up the "swarmers" in my dining room. (We rent, the house has termites, which the owner is responsible for, and she hasn't done squat but get an estimate. This has been going on for 3 weeks now. Nice.)

Anyway. On Friday I was -4. No, I'm not trying to lose weight, I just tracked what I was eating, cut out high sodium, and some refined carbs, added protein, and *poof*, lost the water weight I knew I was carrying.

Also, after church, we're going to look for houses. These are #s 30-35 or so. We've got a bid on a foreclosure (looking at a HUGE discount if we get it), but aren't holding our breath while we wait on the bank to make their decision. So, that should count as a little movement, right?

I really want to get back to exercise this week though! It makes me a happy person!

Happy Sunday ya'll, I hope you've had a great weekend!

Hi. I have 2 more semesters to go (if I get through this one). The instructors told us that the 2nd semester would be the most difficult. I'm in the ASN program at a local community college. In clinicals, I just get easly frustrated when I ask nurses questions and they look at me like I am stupid. Then they usually respond that they didn't have to learn that, that being whatever I had just asked. The program that I'm in goes so indepth into everything. I'm sorry to vent but I'm trying to become a nurse not a doctor. Any way, the one good thing about them pushing so much information is that the program has a 90+ pass rate on the KY state boards. After I get through this program I'm planning on getting my BSN through a local university mainly through internet classes. That's my goal. We'll see. Yesterday, in lab I was so discouraged that I seriously wanted to get up and walk out. I had even changed my major and was going to go elsewhere. However, today I feel better and I'm more optimistic about making it. Good luck with your program. You can do it. :thumbsup2
BTW-I'm currently planning a graduation trip to Disney World. It would be toward the end of May 2009. We are currently looking at 13 nights/14 days on site. :thumbsup2 My husband works for his brother-in-law's company and would not have any difficulty in getting time off. That's the plan. We'll see if it goes through. :)

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you! That sounds like an awesome vacation! Where in NKY are you? DH & I both graduated from UK, he's from Ashland, I'm from Paducah. Go Cats!

For those of you in nursing.

Hang in there. You can do it.

Thanks! I start the program in the fall. Maybe I'm nuts, but I'll be starting the RN program with a newborn! YIKES! It's been done before though!

How many nurses are on here?

 Thanks you guys for the words of wisdom and kindness.
I'm taking wendy's advice and getting a facial and shopping (plus watching some johnny depp) this weekend to snap me out of it.

Hoo boy! Johnny Depp! Yum! Congrats on the major weightloss! I managed to lose 115 BP (before pregnancy), and I know it's not easy to see the scales slow down, stop, or even move in the other direction!

I think I have to change from my 1,800 calorie-a-day plan. I'm just not seeing the results I want. In just over two months, I've only lost five pounds, and two of those pounds snuck back up on me.

How is Weight Watchers online? What is the cost?

Today I'm going to see my grandmother, (not the one that is depriving me of presents, the one that is local, and has trouble getting around,) so I porbably won't be around much this afternoon.

I'm also planning on making the rest of my remaining ADRs today, since I am now 180 days out from the end of my vacation, and I waited until today to make them. And I might as well call today, since it's Sunday, and I have unlimited weekend minutes. I only have six more to make, so that shouldn't take long. I was going to get up and make them at 7:00 AM, but this was my first day to sleep in for like a week, so I slept. I don't think anything I have left to reserve is going to be an issue booking, unlike before, when I was concerned about CRT and Le Cellier.

Punkin - I just noticed your location was Georgia. We're neighbors! What part of Georgia? We are in extreme North Georgia. We could spit into Chattanooga, TN.

Thanks! I have to prove to myself I can do it! I'm enduring some serious headaches, but they go away when I pop open a can and drink it with Tylenol. Caffeine takes away caffeine-withrawl headaches :headache: I know this sounds counter productive but it really isn't. If only they made Caffeine Patches like on Meet the Robinsons ;)

So it's been since Friday night, when I calculated how much I spend on my beloved "hooch". It's a world record of some sort for me!

Only a few medicinally necessary cans are missing from my 12-pack. I tell myself I don't want to totally quit, just not be addicted.

Plus, get this, since friday my scale has moved 5 pounds in the right direction! See? Punkin is SMART.

Lauren- diet Snapple? I've pretty much been drinking water with added Propel packets. Now I'm worried. I don't see myself as ever enjoying or craving pure water. I need at least a lime slice and tons of ice. But you never know. Baby Steps, right?

Now, I've got my calculator out and am tallying in a minute. I just want to double check to see if anyone was missed accidentally. Be right back!

Peeps is slang for people - meaning your homies, friends, pals.
It was in a hip hop song a few years ago and took over suburbia at that point.
Apparently, suburbanites (especially wome and gay men) automatically envision marshmellow peeps when they hear it and it makes them giggle.
I do not think the slang started in this manner, but we made it our own, darnit!
I had a friend who actually bought stuffed peeps for all his friends at easter a few years ago.
When the great thread mama (UtahMama, Wiiinnndddddyyy to her "fiends") came up with the name, there were a bunch of us calling each other peeps - so she incorporated it into her weight loss thread (her and Twinkiemama are really urban, not white middle class moms).
I like to think of it as something more now.
We're cute and fluffy, darnit, but we're getting smaller!
(Just don't put us in a microwave!)

Here's my favorite peep picture (ignore the words. I had to show my support for a friend):

Whuddup Peeps?

Sorry! I was making sure I didn't miss anyone (I did) and saw this! THIS peep needs a pole of her own ;)

Just Kidding, I wouldn't know what to do with one

Ok, really, I'm working on the tally. STOP yelling at me! :sad2:

Are you sitting down?

This week we as Team Peep lost 30.9 pounds!!!!

BUT, the Year To Date Uber Grand Total: 424.73 lost!

Not too shabby!

Now, if ONLY I could claim 40 of those, I'd be lookin' HOT!

Attention all PeePs going to the world in September:

I just heard that "FREE DINING" will be announced for Disney Visa holders TOMORROW!!

I've been helping a co-worker plan her trip and when she called to central reservations she got a strong indication of the above. She then called me back and said her dad had read here on the dis that someone had it confirmed by a travel agent who already had the booking code in hand.

My friend made her dining reservations this morning and I was suprised that she was able to get the following:

CRT Lunch
Chef Mickey Breakfast
Coral Reef
1900 Park Fare Dinner

To make this even more amazing they are a party of ......13!!!!

8 adults, 3 kids under age 9 and 2 kids age 2

I have had so much fun playing "travel agent" Now if I could convince Disney to give me a discount or an upgrade for sending them the business. ;)

She had one more dining reservation to make but was overwhelmed at her good fortune and couldnt concentrate anymore.

2 questions:

Does anybody will small children have a favorite resturant that is kid friendly?

She doesnt have a Disney Visa and will have to wait for the public announcement so....

Has anybody ever booked a room in the hopes of free dining and called back after the public announcement and not been able to get it?

My friend has called me 3 times this morning- we worked last night and we are supposed to be sleeping cause we gotta work again tonight but.....

We're too excited to sleep!!!!:cheer2:

Beka

I did most of my clinical's while I was pregnant with my first child. I finished summer term in August. Had a baby in October. Went back to school in January. Graduated in March and took my boards in May.

It is harder when you have kids but you can do it.

Honestly, and this is just my personal opinon, I think 1800 is too much if you want to see quick results. I have kept mine around 1200, drank at least 64 oz of water, and exercisd 3-5 days a week, and I have lost almost 20 lbs in the last 2 months. That includes 2-3 cheat days where I ate whatever I wanted.

Just my $.02.

I totally agree. 1800 is great if you are spending 2 hours running on a treadmill. I gain or maintain at 1800 due to my lack of activity and age.

You can do it DF4E! The reward will be a fun time with all your ADR's you're planning!

Maybe I should aim for 1,500? :confused3 I know 1,200 would probably be too few for me. Just today, I'm already at 800, and that's just with breakfast, (yogurt and granola bar,) and lunch, (Lean Cuisine meal,) and a glass of milk, which I rarely drink, but that's all my grandmother had to drink.

Thanks for the support UM!! :goodvibes How is the Dt Pepsi reduction effort going?

I know that some think 1200 is too low... however I think that WW if you figured out the calories, would keep me in the 1200-1400 range at my age and weight. And really, WW is a reduced calorie eating plan. They do take into account fiber and fat, to some extent.

I think another secret to eating so low is to have a cheat day at least every other week. I have read that it can confuse your body and keep it from getting efficient at existing on the lower calorie intake, which helps keep the weight coming off.

Finally, fiber and protein definitely matter. I try to keep fiber at least at 30g per day, and protein over 60g. Fiber One is my friend... 80 cals in half cup + 1/4 milk (I do add artificial sweetened), and that is 14g fiber! It tastes like tree bark, but it seems to work better for me than fiber supplements and also helps keep me feeling full.

Just saw this:

I think that you might want to consider less calorie dense foods... for example, you can get 60 cal yogurts. Granola bars seem like good choices, but really if you look at the calories, you can find better things... Might go for a yogurt and an apple?

I add a LOT of veggies to my day too... huge salads, steamed broccoli, etc.
