DISappearing PEEPS Volume 2

DH went to the doctor yesterday because his foot's been hurting him again and found out he has gout. they gave him a steroid and an anti-inflammatory. he said they both made him feel funny.....kinda jumpy. they both have the word "meth" in the name so that kinda freaks me out a little. anyway, we're gonna have to monitor his diet to see if something in particular is making his gout flair up.

My dad has gout. There are a lot of foods that trigger it. I can think of a few off-hand... dark green leafy things like spinach, salmon, organ meats (liver, etc). Also, too much alcohol.

I am just interested in more of whats on the menu. I have kids who won't touch seafood, a husband who's iffy about it. I LOVE SEAFOOD and would love to eat here. I just want to make sure the rest of my family will all have something they like.

I have just finished catching up but wanted to comment... I have been to the clam bake and I think that you would like it. They have all-you-can-eat steamed mussels and clams, but they also have a big non-seafood portion that is ribs, chicken, mac&cheese, mashed potatoes, etc.

You are misinformed about an IP address.

"In addition to the network address or number, information is needed about which specific machine or host in a network is sending or receiving a message. So the IP address needs both the unique network number and a host number (which is unique within the network). (The host number is sometimes called a local or machine address.)"

Although this has already been explained, I would also like to point out that IP address is generally dynamic and is assigned by your provider (aka your ISP). So it *is* possible that two people who share a provider and general location could get the same IP address, but I must say, it is very unlikely.

If you use someone like AOL or Verizon or a big provider, it is quite difficult for someone who is not in law enforcement to trace you beyond just the fact that you have Verizon or AOL and maybe your general location (state, city at the best). It requires a warrant to ask your provider who had that IP address at the time that it is tracked, so I wouldn't worry that they could find out your address, etc.

Okay, I am mostly caught up with this thread, as my parents were here this weekend and I didn't check any computer until this morning.

Oh one more thing... Lynda, I am totally with you on maintaining my weight since my Sept WDW trip and not losing any more. Here's to hoping we can break that trend!! :goodvibes

i think i'm getting sick. :headache: i've avoided it all winter and now my throat is scratchy and i'm EXHAUSTED. i always crave lots of garlic when i feel a cold coming on and so ray and i went to johnny's pizza for dinner and we shared a big bowl of garlic knots. so my number on friday will probably not be good. but at this point i don't care......garlic always makes me feel better when i'm icky. i have some kickin breath though!
I hope you feel better.

the first table i waited on by myself during training was interesting - i asked them if they had decided on lunch and the girl goes, "i don't know what i'm looking at. you guys don't have pictures......just words." i *almost* asked her if she'd like to supersize her meal. :lmao:

for the most part though i get 15-20%. you do get the occasionally non-informed tipper of course. it just blows my mind that people don't KNOW that tipping 15-20% is expected for decent service. and believe me.......i know if i've done bad and won't fault anyone for tipping me less if i don't do a good job. i still can't believe that guy asked me if i was allowed to take tips. dude.....i make $2.13 an hour......what do you think???????
There are definatly some people out there who ask the dumbest questions. I had a customer once who wanted $20 cash back on debit, her purchases totaled $11 something, and when I told her that she asked if that was with the cash back.

Just wanted to say hey! We've been doing a lot of work on straightening up the house. Our living room looks GREAT, and tonight I cleaned out the closet in the entry and put together yet another little table from Ikea, and this one if for my laptop, so I'm using it right now. We actually had one before and broke one of the bolts (and DH threw it away before we could go match it at Home Depot). So, now we have two of these laptop tables, which is cool, because we have two laptops! ;) Anyway, just checkin' in. I've got a couple other things to do before bed. Hope everyone had a great start to the week. to all who need them!
I just did a major cleaning of my bedroom. I have so much junk that I don't know what to do with it half the time. Including a crockpot I bought since we no longer had one at the house, and my mom said there was no space for it downstairs, so it was either going in the basement, (where stuff gets yucky,) or my room. It is currently sitting on a pile of cookbooks, and I'm sure anyone who sees it there, (though almost no one goes in my room besides me,) will think it's really odd.

I also just bought an Enchanted pillowcase with Giselle on it, and decorative princess pillows for my bed. They're very nice looking, and not gimicky at all. As well as a pink fleece Enchanted throw that was on clearance for $7, and a princess one that was reduced to $7, and there was a 25% off my entire purchase from some President's Day promotion. I also bought a pair of pink Enchanted pajamas, so my whole bed is going to be Disney princess soon.

He started to run a fever last night. I really didn't want him to get sick. That is not a good thing.

I am starting to get over the cough, it just sporadic coughing.

And the sinus thingy went away through the night. I was almost convinced I had a cavity.
I hope you and your DH both feel better.
Update: I just got a call from my mom and the nursing home just called an ambulance for my grandfather. He is having chest pains. They are hoping it is just muscle pain because they worked his upper body yesterday at rehab. My poor father is a wreck. It has just been one thing after another these past 2 weeks. To top it off, my mom's sister is having back surgery as I type this so she is not able to be there with my dad. I am going to leave early today so I can sit with him at the hospital and he won;t have to be there alone. My leave is looking pretty sad...
Your in my thoughts.
Ok Peeps. I went to WW today and :scared1: now granted I wasn't the greatest peep and we did go to Cabella's yesterday and I didn't eat like a peep should there but OMG. I gained 4 lb. Some of it is water because I didn't drink my water like I'm supposed to last week and some of it is because of AF but holy cow. That puts me for the Easter challenge to lose 9 lb in 5 weeks. I'm going to try, no more bolonga for me anymore. I'm sick of being overweight darn it.
Sounds like you ate yesterday like I did over the weekend. I weighed myself yesterday, and was up a pound from what I was on Friday. Today I'm back on track, but we'll see if I get back down by Friday. I hope so.
I fell off the wagon after my WDW trip, so I have been ashamed! BUT, without even trying, I lost five of the 8 pounds I gained on the trip. So really I am only up about 3 since before the trip. Not too shabby. And I don't get it either! I have hardly been drinking any water and I have consumed all manner of bread and chocolate! :confused3 Not that I'm complaining!
Bread is one of my downfalls too. I probably didn't need that cheesesteak Saturday.

I got my princess charm bracelet today. It was gauranteed Valentine's delivery, but it didn't come until today.

It is very pretty, I think it's too pretty and fancy to wear everyday though. I'm wearing it today, since I just got it, and I'll probably wear it to work at least once this week to show it off, but then I'll probably save it for special occasions, and for my Disney trips.

I did try to take some pics of it to post, but they are too blurry from using no flash, or too bright from using the flash.

Also, I got a three-disc princess CD collection I ordered a few days ago in the mail today as well. The first disc is all the princess songs, there are 26 of them, even though there's also songs from Mary Poppins and Lady and the Tramp, and I'm still trying to figure out how they fit into the princess collection. The second disc is instrumental versions of some of the princess songs, and the third disc is pop versions of some of the princess songs.

I'm ready to pull my hair out! :scared1: Figuring out my son's high school schedule is driving me nuts! Please send me some smart pixiedust: ! When did registering for high school become a class all on its own? :teacher: :confused3

When I was in high school, (six years ago,) all we did was go to the guidance consuler, and fill out a sheet for the classes we wanted to take next year. Now, it's all done online, so if you don't have a computer, (or just don't do it yourself by the deadline,) the school picks the classes for you. One of the high school kids I know said he didn't make the deadline, which was right after Christmas, (how are they supposed to know what classes they want to take before they've even started all their classes this year?) and he missed it, (bad on his part, but still I think the deadline was to early,) and now he's going to have totally random classes next year.

My dad has gout. There are a lot of foods that trigger it. I can think of a few off-hand... dark green leafy things like spinach, salmon, organ meats (liver, etc). Also, too much alcohol.

what's weird is that he's cut WAY back on his alcohol intake since christmas. he used to drink beer a few times a week because he has insomnia and it would make him sleepy. but he decided that had to be bad for him (duh) and he hardly ever drinks any more. he goes back to the doctor on 2/29 to see what he says about the blood work and we should know more then.

i want to apologize if i offended anyone with my story about the girl i waited on that was confused by the lack of pictures in our menu at longhorn's. it was not meant to be rude or careless...just a story i shared because i was shocked when she said that to me.

This is my intinerary for my September trip. I may be changing a few things around once the park hours are released, but as long as there are no conflicts, this is what I'll probably be doing. I'd love some opinions on it. I can do a lot during the day, without getting tired, and I know it's a lot of food, but I have the deluxe plan.

Arrival Day

Morning - Flight
L - Planet Hollywood (If I Get a $15 Voucher)
Afternoon - DTD
D - Citricos
Night - No Plans

Day One

B - CRT
Morning - MK
L - Crystal Palace
Afternoon - MK
D - CA Grill (During Wishes)

I know I have two all I can eat meals, but I am going to those mainly for the characters, not for the food.

Day Two

Morning - Epcot
B - Cape May Cafe
Afternoon - MGM
D - Ohana
Night - MNSSHP

I will only be going to Epcot in the morning to ride Soarin, and then I'll go to breakfast, hopefully I can get the latest seating possible, so I won't have to rush there. I'm assuming there's going to be a MNSSHP that night, based on the dates from previous years, but I can't be sure.

Day Three

B - Tusker House
Day - AK
D - Boma

Day Four

Morning - Sleep In
L - Raglan Road
Afternoon - DTD
D - Boatwrights

This will be my no-parks day, and will be very easy since my big plan is to shop during the afternoon. I really like browsing the DTD, though I never spend that much money.

Day Five

Morning - Epcot
L - Coral Reef
Afternoon - Le Cellier F&W Pairing
Night - Epcot
D - Olivia's

I'm assuming again that the food and wine pairings will be held on the same days of the week they usually are, if so I'm going to try and book one on this day.

Day Six

Morning - MK
L - Liberty Tree Tavern
Afternoon - MK
D - Kona Cafe

Day Seven

Morning - MGM
L - Brown Derby
Afternoon & Night - MGM
Dinner - Flying Fish

I'm going to try for late ADRs at Brown Derby and Flying Fish, so I can see Fantasmic before dinner.

Day Eight

Morning - Epcot
L - Tokyo Dining
Afternoon - Epcot
D - Yachtsman Steakhouse

Day Nine

Morning - AK
L - Yak & Yeti
Afternoon - AK
D - Jiko

Day Ten

B - Crystal Palace
Morning - MK
L - GF Cafe
Afternoon - MK
D - Artist Point

Dinner may be late this night.

Day Eleven

B - Akershus
Morning - Epcot
L - Le Cellier
Afternoon - Epcot
D - Narcoossees

I hope to get a dinner ADR so I can see Wishes during dinner.

Departure Day

B - Ohana

As you can see, it's a lot of food. I'm just going to make late dinner ADRs the days I have three meals, and the days I do have three meals, at least one of those meals is mainly for the characters, not the food. I really wanted to space out my meals, so I don't have the character meals all together, or all of the steakhouses near each other, etc.

Now I just need the park hours to be released, and make sure there are no EMH conflicts, and what the times of the night shows are.

what is with people on the dis lately and attitude? take a look at this:

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1712222&page=16

Question?

For all of you Peeps that have been to Disney World in the month of June:

How was your trip? Was it too hot? Was it too crowded? What did you like about it? What didn't you like about it?

My husband & I were orginally planning a 10 year anniversary trip for this upcoming June. This would have been a solo trip without the kids. However, I think that our plans have changed based solely on my 4 year old son. Read on...........

Last night, my youngest son was in a crying/whining mood. When I asked him why he was crying he gave me a dozen different answers: he wasn't ready for bed, he didn't want to go to school, he didn't want to brush his teeth & I made him anyway, and supposedly I called him an idiot (which I did not do). He then cries for a glass of water, which I get for him, and then he tells me, "Mommy do you really want to know why I'm crying. I'm crying because I really, really want to go back to Disney World. I'm also crying because I want my birthday to hurry up & get here so that I can get taller because I want to ride Mt. Everest." As he is telling me all of this he is sobbing really hard. I told him that we would try to go back some day soon & then I rocked him gently until he went to sleep. Afterwards, I told my husband & he immediately shook his head, with a smile on his face, and informed me that he didn't think that he could leave the boys for a week while we go and have a great time a DW. I'm soooooo glad that he was thinking the same thing as I was. :thumbsup2

And so the decision was made (although it makes me sad) not to go to Disney World this June for a week. :sad1: Instead we will continue to add funds to our vacation savings club & we will go to Disney next year, possibly in June. On the bright side, we will be flying & my husband has agreed to us staying at least 2 weeks. At least 14 days of pure Disney magic. :cloud9: It will be a combo anniversary trip, youngest son's birthday trip, & my anticipated nursing graduation trip.

Sorry that my post is soooo long but I wanted to share with my Peeps, my friends. :grouphug: Opinions will be greatly appreciated.

Good night.

Just checking in to say tomorrow is baby day :goodvibes I will be going in around 10 and the baby will be coming around noon (central time) I will be in the hospital until Sat most likely, and then I will be home to post some pictures. I still cant believe it is over! I dont feel ready AT ALL. I am sad that Amanda will not be my baby anymore, and excited that she will get to be a big sister at the same time. It is going to be SO weird to have another child by this time tomorrow! I gained the exact same amount this time around (16 pounds), which is so weird that it worked out that way. But they say he will be only around 7 pounds, and Amanda was so much bigger. It will be weird to have a baby sized baby :rotfl:

I will probably be up half the night anyways, so I will probably be reading what I have missed since I was here last weekend. Hope everyone is doing well. :wizard: and  to those who may need them!

Good luck! Hope all goes well tomorrow! I'll be thinking about you around noon tomorrow. That is when I am meeting with DS guidance counselor about his high school courses. :teacher: Please post pics as soon as you are able. We make great "virtual" aunts and uncles. :cool2:

Awwww! Best of Luck to ya! Wow you did great on the gaining! You'll be back in your normal jeans pretty soon! Give that baby a little kiss form all the Peeps!

I am so weird by thinking to myself, I'd LOVE a hospital vacation! Which is exactly how I felt at each hospital stay...being waited on hand and foot (whatever that means), food brought to you, they'll take the baby if you want to sleep....:cloud9: Pathetic, i know

How was your trip? Was it too hot? Was it too crowded? What did you like about it? What didn't you like about it?

Good night.

I honestly have to say, I never will go back in June. It WAS
HOT and PACKED! We still made it work and had a great time. It's doable. Keep in mind with the heat and crowds you can't do as much if you went at a slower time. I just wanted to give my honest opinion and I don't want that to come across as being mean.

Dawn: Wow, food brings out the animals in some people. I think I continue to just look over there.

A new little peeplet!!!! Dance -- you will be in my thoughts today. Gosh I want to babysit...

Okay peeps, so here's a question for you.... The father of one of the guys that I've been "Internet Dating" died. I've never met this guy, but we've been exchanging daily (and sometimes more than that) e-mails for about a month. I'm not good with sympathy/condolence notes for people that I know really well in real life and I'm having double trouble figuring out what to say to him... So I'm thinking about sending the following:

Dear xxxx,

I just opened my e-mail and read of your father's death. I am so sorry and wanted to offer my thoughts and prayers.

Email is such a poor format for this; as much as I enjoy our correspondence, it would be so much better if I could convey my condolences in person. But at the very least I want you to know that I am out here and care. Please let me know if there is anything I can do or if you just need to talk.

You and your family are in my prayers this week.

With deepest sympathy,
xxxxx

What do you think? We don't really know each other so I don't want to go overboard, but this is a person that I consider a friend. I trust my peeps not to steer me wrong.

MJ....I'd make it simpler....something like this....

Dear xxxx,

I just opened my e-mail and I wanted you to know how terribly sorry I am to hear about your dad. Please let me know if there is anything I can do. If you just need to talk, I'll be here to listen.

Please know that you and your family are in my prayers this week.

With deepest sympathy,
xxxxx
