Wow, what a chatty group! I'd say we are breaking in the new thread just fine.
But what a rough weekend for the Peeps. Hugs to those who lost love ones, be they human or pet. I can't relate to losing a pet, as my current dog is the first non-goldfish pet I've ever owned. However, I'm sure I'll be devastated when she is gone (hopefully not for a very long time). But I can relate to losing a grandparent that I was close to. My grandma will have been gone 7 years this Friday. She was like a 2nd mother to me, and to this day I tell my wife and friends stories about her. My favorite one happened when she was about 80 years old (she died a month short of her 88th birthday). She was driving through a part of town that was notorious for being a speed trap. The speed limit was 35, and according to her she wasn't going any faster than 37. I don't know if the cop just wanted to hassle an old lady or what, but he pulled her over for going 2 over. When he stopped her, he told her that while he couldn't write her a ticket he would give her a warning. He explained that she didn't have to do anything with it, and that she could rip it up when she got home. Apparently she didn't hear the "when you get home" part, and ripped it to shreds as soon as he handed it to her. But being the feisty woman that she is, she made the following statement about her not wearing a seat belt - "You probably noticed that I'm not wearing a seat belt. Well, you can go ahead and write me a ticket if you want, but I'm not going to strap myself in to this death machine". I think the cop realized that nothing was going to change this woman, and just turned around and left without issuing her that ticket.
Have a good day everyone!
