Ok I'm kind of late on some of these quotes because my internet was down until last night and DH was on it for a while and I got tired. Anyway here goes:

disneyfav4ever Here's my advice. I think what you are doing with your living arrangement with your folks is fine. I lived with my parents until I was 26 (that's when I got married) and I didn't pay for anything. So I guess your "friends" on the other thread would be crazy with me. I did pay for my own shampoo, makeup and paid my own bills (telephone, I had my own line, no cell phone back then) but no rent. My mother even still did my laundry (she was afraid my brother and I would break her washing machine and dryer :confused3 ). Anyway I would want my kids to stay with me for as long as they wanted (with limits of course) but I see nothing wrong with you only being 24 and living with mom and dad. I agree with someone, I forgot who said it, but get your own laptop with wireless internet. That would solve that problem:) . And for your vacations, that's none of their business. And that's final. Also they follow you onto this thread, do they have lives? Looks like they have nothing better to do than attack someone and this week it's you.

Sweetie~ just stay away from the Community Board!!!!They obviously get their entertainment from giving you a hard time.....so not worth it. You can post what ever you want to here. If they come here to harass you, we've got your back!pirate: :darth: I know it's hard to do, but just stay away!

Yeah we've got your back sistah.

Oh- The first night in the hotel me and mom couldnt sleep- Anybody else ever went to the hotel fitness center at 3am and walked on the treadmill? Felt a little silly in my pj's and my tennies but I needed to destress from my drive I guess.

Good girl.

lexmelinda I saw this also on Good Morning America. I posted about it a few days ago, I guess no one read it. I must be boring. Do you use artifical sweetners at all? I do drink at least one diet pepsi a day (the little cans) or two the most at dinner time. But I use crystal light (those ones for the water bottles) but I put one of those in 64 oz of water instead of less water like you are used to. I'm confused now. I do use real sugar in my coffee though. I do WW and count that sugar but I refuse to use my points on regular soda I tell ya.

my2boysrtwicethefun That's one tough week you had there my friend.

I had a good morning so far, as soon as I got on the DIS I checked the photography board's Valentine's picture contest results, and my pic is in second place so far.

I'm going to vote for you right now.:woohoo:

I am soooo excited--on phone with member services and I am staying at BEACH CLUB!!!! When I called yesterday we thought some friends my be going with us and we were looking for a 2 bed and nothing was there--they backed out and this is where we are staying. I am sooo excited---this is our home resort and we have only stayed here 1 night after a cruise and the weather was :headache: so we could not use the pool. Anyway sorry to ramble--just excited.:woohoo: :cool1:

:woohoo: :yay: :woohoo: :dance3: :woohoo: One day I will stay there. Make sure you take lots of pictures.

f_Peepm_06996a2.png

Is there a chance I can lose 7 lb by tomorrow :rotfl:

I've been having tummy issues the past few days, and if it doesn't get better tomorrow, I'm calling the doctor.

Feel better. I've got women problems. Long story short - I have been having some pain (lower ride side), went and saw my midwife for my annual visit and told her about it. Also AF is quite heavy. Anyway they did an ultrasound and they think they saw a cervical polyp. Plus my lining was thicker than it should be :confused3 (sorry Aaron) I have to go for another ultrasound but different kind. I'm a little nervous but it's probably nothing.

ray watches ESPN like 90 percent of the time and they play disney commercials at almost every commercial break. IT'S KILLING ME!

I hear ya girl but at least your going soon right?

TO OUR FAVORITE GLITTER PRINCESS..

It snowed last night, then iced, then rained. The kids have no school today.
I had so much to do today without the kids and now I have to wait until DH gets home to do them. I am not dragging three kids to Walmart with me that's for sure. I did well yesterday at WW so I'm happy. Aaron do we weigh in on Thursday instead of friday this week because of the challenge? It's so windy here today too, raining cats and dogs. Talk to you later my friends.

happy birthday Disfav4ever!!!

dawn..i just read the britney article..wow. sad scary just plain bad. i can't imagine just shopping and seeing that scene go down!

its an icy day here in MA..snow overnight and now they say rain and ice..gotta love it! ;)
have a great day everyone!!

Thank you everyone for all the birthday wishes. :goodvibes I probably won't be on the DIS much today, since I'm going out in a couple of hours for lunch with a friend. There's some new restaurant in town, which I wasn't even aware of until last night, but I looked up the menu online this morning, and it sounds yummy.

Then I think I'm going out to dinner too, but that isn't in stone yet. I also have cake at some point today, which is beautiful, and I'll take pics of later, so I think I'll be over 1,800 calories today. Since it's my birthday, I'm not going to worry about it though.

Unfortunatly DF was in the hospital for another test yesterday, and the doctors told him to stay in bed for at least 24 hours, so I doubt I'll be seeing him today. Tomorrow is Valentine's though, so hopefully I'll see him then.

I drink at least one diet soda a day, and I weigh 70 lbs. less than my highest when I drank sugary soda. I know I've made a lot of changes, but I just don't think the diet soda can be worse than the sugar in sodas. Years ago, many of the studies were funded by the sugar companies. I just have to use my life experience over a study.
I drink one diet soda a day now too. I think as long as I limit myself to one, I'll lose weight.

Seems like this month is me. :sad2: Apparently I haven't posted anything interesting since now they're just bashing me for going to Disney solo with the deluxe DDP, which apparently is "too much food." They never post the fact that I have said repeatedly that I'm getting the deluxe plan since I want to eat at the signature restaurants, and I don't actually plan on eating three TS meals a day.

Also, DF did finally quit smoking, and is eating better now too. He said he isn't eating fast food at all anymore, (he ate like crap before,) and now he's eating a lot of baked and broiled fish and chicken, as well as fruit and vegetables. So right now, he's probably even eating better then me.

Yeah for him. Tell him way to go from me. I'm trying to vote for your picture on the photography thread but I don't know where to do it. I saw your pictures but I can't find where to vote.

There are actually four threads, http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1718347 (thread one, doesn't have my pic, but I vote on all the threads,) http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1718345 (thread two, my pic is the second one on the thread, and is of Ariel and Eric, I'm sure this goes without saying, but don't vote for my pic, unless you actually think it's the best, ;) )http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1718341 (thread three,) and http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1718339 (thread four.) Then the pics with the top votes from all of the threads are voted on again in a final thread. There's several pics I really like, of course all the ones I like are princess pictures, LOL. You just vote as you would on any other poll.

UGH! I know I've been making some mistakes with the food I've chosen to eat this weekend at Disneyland. I ate 1/2 of a corndog and a 1/2 of a large Dole Whip and way too many convenience food and dollar menu stuff. I don't even want to know the damage I've done!

Hear this: even if my scale remains the same, I still made some risky and unhealthy choices. I need to make permanent changes and fall of the figurative wagon too esasily. The weekend is over and now I'll pick myself up and carry on!

You are allowed, you were in DL for the sake of Pete. :) On the topic of corndogs, me being a vegetarian, I have long fogotten (14 years) the taste of these treats. But, I found a vegetarian version that is excellent. They are made by Morningstar and are ly 150 cals. I cook them in the toaster oven and they are really good. :thumbsup2

Ok peeps I have a question. I bought a phone from DisneyMobile last May, it was a limited edition Steamboat Willie phone and I HAD to have it.

Someone else mentioned this but definitely speak to a manager only. I had to do that when I was fighting an extra charge on my bill and after 5 calls to Verizon, it finally got resolved when I insisted on speaking with a manager. Don't forget to get the name of whomever you speak with just in case you have to call them back again. Did i mention how much i LOATHE, Verizon?

People say I "smooch" off my parents, but I don't see it that way, since I do pay rent, and take care of all my own stuff. Is it immature and lazy of me to go on one vacation a year that I can afford? Or should I move out and go into debt?

Don't worry about what others say or think. You need to do what is right for you. I lived with my parentals until I got married at 26. I saved loads of $$$. As a parent, I would not care if my boys lived with me until they got married.

ok- I've skimmed through.

born2bird Hope grandpa gets better.

Thanks for all the congrats on my girls dance. We go to Memphis in April. So any Peeps from the Memphis area? I'll take all the driving advice I can get.

Thank you for the well wishes. And congrats to your DD ad her huge success at the competition. You must be so proud of her and her team.

!!

DH and I may take some time to do Epcot or DTD by ourselves - you know without anybody saying hurry up, can we go yet? DD's will be with the dance teacher at the workshops so we thought we might just enjoy some adult Disney time. Any suggestions?

Have you considered doing one of the tours that they offer? THey are so much fun and very informative. We have done the one at Animal Kingdom and MK. I have heard alot of good things about the Segway tour in Epcot as well. If DH and I ever go without the ankle biters that is the one we are going to do.

Born2Bird - for you and your grandpa. I hope he gets well soon.

Thank you!! I really appreciate the well wishes.

My week has been insane.

A week ago Sunday- I became really sick. Could not swallow. Finally, I went to the doctor on Tuesday & tested positive for strep throat. I seriously thought I was going to die because I felt so bad. Now, however, after a week of antibiotics, I'm feeling pretty good. (My tonsils were touching, making breathing difficult & I actually hyperventilated in the nursing lab. Which looking back now is really funny because the nursing instructor asked my classmates what they would have done if she had not been there? Most said that they would call 911. :rotfl2: Yes, those student nurses may some day be taking care of you.
Wed.- my nephew (1 month old was dx with RSV) He's doing much better now.

Thurs.- my brother-in-law's parents home burnt to the ground. :sad1: They are good friends of ours & we stood in their yard with them & watched them lose everything. Absolutely horrific. However, the out pouring of love has been so great. Amazing actually.

Friday- doctors pulled the ventilator from my sister-in-laws neice that was born the day before on Thurs. She died instantly. Poor baby girl. The parents of the baby live about a mile up the road from us.

Sunday (10th)- we got a phone call around 8 am from my neighbor telling us that my husband's cousin woke up & found her baby boy (6 months old) dead in his crib. He was born premature, deaf in both ears & needed a feeding tube but he was doing so much better. Please remember the family in your prayers.

Yesterday- my neice was placed in the hospital for pneumonia (she's 11 months old). The doctor came in around 8 pm & told them that she also has RSV. Please remember her as well.
My gosh!!! That is a horrendous week!! I am so sorry  You and your family and friends are certainly in my thoughts and prayers. Here's to a much better week!!

I'm sorry. I didn't want to sound selfish & hog the board with my problems.

 for all that need them. I was able to read some of the posts from the last couple of days and I know that some of the peeps need hugs & prayers.

Born2bird: here's a  from me & one big :grouphug: from all of the Peeps

Later

Please don't be sorry. One of the reasons I come to this thread is because I always feel supported by everyone here; be it weight loss related or otherwise.

Speaking of which, thank you for hugs. Here is one right back at you

Do any of you use or have used Kettle Bells in your work outs?? I was watching a show where people were using them and they seem to be quite effective! I saw some at Target the other day and I of course had to try it out..HOLY Cardio and weight training!!! I just used the 10 lb one a couple times over my head and down and i already could tell it would be a great tool. Just wondering if any of you have used them before and what you think. Dawn, i am particularly interested to see if Anna has " tortured" you with these before ;) They seem pretty hardcore and that they would target the Core and love handles..which i NEED to tone and strengthen desperately!

I am going to google them as son as I am done here. Thanks for the info. I am always looking for something new to keep the routine fresh.

Morning peeps.

Well we finished our gym here at work and I got to use it yesterday. Today, I'm sore!!! I guess that's a good thing. I can't wait to get over there again today. I also walked 4 miles outside yesterday because the weather is gorgeous here.

I did get on the scale this morning and I'm up 2 lbs though. Melinda, I think it was the flax seed. :rotfl:

We are going to WDW May 18-24. It's a golf and spa trip just for DH and I.

Have a good day all.

Man, I wish we had a gym here. Good for you though. It certainly makes getting a good workout everyday a lot more convenient. YOu are rocking with the exercise!!! Don't worry about the 2lbs, it has to be the flax seed...

Anyway sorry to ramble--just excited.

:thumbsup2 that is fantastic!! BWV was my forst choice for our December trip but I rented points and there were none available for the dates that I needed. WHen we are DVC members I hope to make it our home resort.

nope, she hasn't tortured me yet. i googled them and they look interesting! we just use standard dumbbells and barbells in class. she is creating a class called "total body torture." um....yeah.....good luck getting anyone to come to that class!

:lmao: I love that!!! You have to try it at least once so you can report back here what it is all about.

Oh, and I am glad to read that your grandparents are Ok and cleaning up after the tornado. It is nice to know that there are still a few decent people left in the world.

So sorry to hear about this. I understand what it's like to see your grandparents go through things like this. I will be thinking of you and your family.
I'm having a lia sophia party in April because I found out the perks are incredible! I just love their jewelry.

And tomorrow I am interviewing for a different job in the same department I work in now. It would mean I'd be working in my educational field, I'd be making more money, and I'd have not an office, but three walls, at least! :) I am REALLY hoping this works out.

I'm still 3 pages behind, but right now I am going to try to go get some rest to see if i can start feeling better tomorrow.

Hope everyone is having a great week.

Thank you for the support and kind words for me annd my family. It has been a tough week.

I have never heard of Lia Sophia. I am a jewlery addict. I am not into the expensive diamonds, etc. I like unique pieces.

Good luck with the interview. I certainly hope you were feeling better for the interview. Let us know how it went.

B2B/Kim

and anyone else who needs one

Ewwww... it's icy here! Last night was a nightmare -- suddenly got icy just as the evening commute started. I was a wuss and went home early (so I could vote AND get in before the roads froze), so I didn't have too many problems. It warmed up over night and things are better in my area this morning, but some places are still frozen over. I think I better move down south... I hate frozen precip (in all its forms, but ice is the worstest (sic))!!

Hope everyone is safe, especially my midatlantic and north east peeps that are dealing with this storm.

Thank you...

THe ice was AWFUL!! It took me 90 minutes to drive the 12 miles from work to home. IT is much better this morning. My front walk and back deck still have anbout 1/2 an inch of ice. My poor dogs were sliding all over the place last night. Too bad you can't litter train a dog. I know they would have been all for doing their business indoors last night.

I'm so mad the VD weigh in is tomorrow and I am a bloated mess! AF is coming soon! But I have been eating awesome and drinking lots of water. I think my wedding dress is always in the back of my mind.

I leave for disney in 12 weeks from today!!!

AF has poor timing in general. Maybe it won't be as bad as you expect since you have been doing so well with food and H2O.

:woohoo: for the upcoming trip. I am not the least bit jealous...:flower3:

 for you and all of those who have suffered such terrible losses this week.

My mom has made me promise that when she dies, I use some of my inheritance to go to Beaches and Cream. She saw it on the travel channel, she loves Disney, and she has diabetes, so she would never be able to indulge in the kitchen sink herself. I hope that day is a long way off, but I do plan to take her up on it. Otherwise, I have no excuse to eat like that.

I am with you on the sugar vs. artificial sweetners. I know cutting the out the sugar has helped me lose. Especially real soda. Grant it, I don't drink much of that either but when I do, I know I am saving myself a lot of calories.

I have never been to Beaches and Cream but will rectify that when we go in December. I think if you have a diet soda with the kitchen sink the calorie are cancelled out... Hmmm, I wonder why I am here?

Dance, My DH is suffering from the same funk. He is driving me CRAZY!!! There is nothing like a sick man to make you want to run, screaming from the house. He is such a big baby. I finally told him to man up or I was going to tell his cop buddies what a wuss he was. I too, have been up for 2 nights listening to him hacking up a lung. I wanted to stifle the noise with a pillow last night but didn't want to go to jail. Hey, think of it this way, at least you will be used to the sleep deprivation when the baby arrives.

HAPPY 24th BIRTHDAY
DISNEYFAV4EVER!!

Have a great day all my wonderful Peeps!!

Good morning peeps. I had a great day yesterday, stuck to the diet and worked in the exercise room enough to be sore again last night. I also did the "unveiling" to my staff, most of whom really need to exercise, and it was fun to see their excitement. I did my 4 miles of walking again, enjoying the gorgeous weather (and trying to ignore my terrible allergies).

I know it's only been 2 days since I added the oatmeal and flax seed to my diet but I do seem a lot less hungry now. And I'm cutting back on the oranges which I think had a lot to do with my weight standoff. My father has 20 acres of oranges and I just love them--they are better than candy to me but they have as many calories as candy. Now I'm limiting myself to one a day.

And no artificial sweeteners for me. I don't drink anything but water. I kicked the soda addiction 15 years ago when I had to give up caffeine.

So I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I see a -1 on Friday.

Have a great day all. I'm going to the dentist today, aka House of Horrors, but at least it will keep me from doing much snacking!

It snowed last night, then iced, then rained. The kids have no school today.
I had so much to do today without the kids and now I have to wait until DH gets home to do them. I am not dragging three kids to Walmart with me that's for sure. Glad you did well at WW.:goodvibes And I agree, taking 3 kids to walmart is NOT fun.The only thing worse is taking four.:scared1: You laso asked the question I wanted to know. Are we weighing tomorrow, aaron? Before the Valentine candy?:rolleyes1

Happy Birthday Disneyfav4Ever!

UM,I love that cake.It looks alot like the one I was going to get Rachel for her bday. Now she wants Hannah Montana.

I am home because Rebekah has strep and then last night Rachel had a high fever and vomiting. She still has a fever and sore throat.

Thanks I voted too.

UM - that cake was awesome. Did you make that?

I forgot to post this in my previous post but I have made a big change in what I eat for breakfast and it has made a HUGE difference with me.I have been reading on Jillian Michaels website and her challenge (last weeks challenge I think) was to eat better breakfasts. Her reccomendations for breakfasts are high in protein and 350-400 calories.I thought that was crazy but I am not hungry for about 4-5 hours versus two and I eat less at lunch too. Also my energy level is WAY up.For example this morning I had one egg plus 3 egg whites, two slices turkey bacon,1/2 large orange and 1 cup milk.

This has helped me in my diet more than anything else so I thought I wouls share it with my peeps.:goodvibes BTW,I only eat 1200 calories a day and this is still very doable.

did you guys see who won the westminster best in show??? it's uno the beagle! and it's about time a beagle won!!! :woohoo: this is the first time ever a beagle has won best in show. he's a 15-inch beagle like sherman, my oldest beagle. and he's just adorable! here's a video. he starts barking when the crowd starts cheering....i wish we could hear him!!! i actually started crying.....i'm such a sap!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DISNEYFAV4EVER!

Have a spectacular day!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!! hope you have a GREAT day!

lexmelinda I saw this also on Good Morning America. I posted about it a few days ago, I guess no one read it. I must be boring.

i read it!!! you're not boring. i just didn't comment because the only time i use artificial sweeteners is in my morning coffee and the occasional crystal lite water flavor thingies. ;)

I hear ya girl but at least your going soon right?

you got that right! 72 days!!!!! :yay:

Also, DF did finally quit smoking, and is eating better now too. He said he isn't eating fast food at all anymore, (he ate like crap before,) and now he's eating a lot of baked and broiled fish and chicken, as well as fruit and vegetables. So right now, he's probably even eating better then me.

.

what she said :) not that i am getting any candy...greg boycotts v-day..ah well..and he is working..so i think i am going dress shopping with my mom :) I have teh Firefighters ball this weekend and i dont have a frock yet ! ;)

I cried too.:goodvibes

melinda - is it snowing there? my mom just e-mailed me and said it's snowing like crazy in nashville/gallatin.

It snowed here last night (only about 3 inches though) but now it's raining like cats and dogs. There's actually steam.

what she said :) not that i am getting any candy...greg boycotts v-day..ah well..and he is working..so i think i am going dress shopping with my mom :) I have teh Firefighters ball this weekend and i dont have a frock yet ! ;)

ray and i both boycott valentine's day. we have for years. there's too much pressure to make it a good day. every time we'd try to arrange something it would all fall apart. and i don't like how if you don't have a significant other, you're not invited to the "party."

DH got me a Reeses heart which has 760 calories.:scared1: I eat one every year but I will definitely be sharing this one.I haven't been eating junk so it would probably make me sick.I am supposed to work tomorrow night,my last night at kohls.I need to get my kids something but I don't want to buy them candy and I am broke so I don't know what I am going to do.

Rebekah (ya'll may remember I have been worried about her weight) has lost 4 lbs.I know some of that is from being sick but she looks great. She only gains in her stomach so 4 lbs gone is very noticable.:goodvibes

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DISNEYFAV4EVA!!
