HAPPY BIRTHDAY AARON!!

Born2Bird - for you and your grandpa. I hope he gets well soon.

UM - Id  to visit Disneyland!

Disneyfav4eva - I moved out of my parents at 24, but only because I was moving in with Dfi, if I hadn't been with him I'd still be there now! :rotfl: dont let them get to you, and stay away from the other site (whatever site it is, I dont know! )

GOOD MORNING! :sunny:

What? No birthdays today? Stayed tuned! It's 27 and freezing rain here this morning...no school today!

NEWS FLASH....I saw this story on NBC last night. Researchers found that consuming artificial sweeteners caused a biological change in lab rats. Their metabolisms slowed down and they actually gained more weight! As I understand it, when consuming real sugar, the metabolism was cued to get going and burn off the calories. When there are no calories present (as in diet sodas) the metabolism doesn't get the cue to jump start even when calories become available thus causing weight GAIN. Long and short...stay away from artificial sweeteners.

Disneyfav....I don't see anything wrong with living in your parents home if you are covering your own expenses. In fact...your parents may have come to count on the extra income. But...if it were me, I would be saving my money to get my own place. You will certainly move out eventually and you want to have the money to do it when the time is right. I never lived at home (with the exception of a coupla summers) after I graduated high school but my brother lived with my mom til he married at 26. To each his own...and what business is it of anyone else's...especially the mean people.

EVERYBODY
.....:wave2:

HAVE A GREAT DAY!

I'm just checking in to say hi. :wave2: College classes are delayed for 2 hours. :thumbsup2

My week has been insane.

A week ago Sunday- I became really sick. Could not swallow. Finally, I went to the doctor on Tuesday & tested positive for strep throat. I seriously thought I was going to die because I felt so bad. Now, however, after a week of antibiotics, I'm feeling pretty good. (My tonsils were touching, making breathing difficult & I actually hyperventilated in the nursing lab. Which looking back now is really funny because the nursing instructor asked my classmates what they would have done if she had not been there? Most said that they would call 911. :rotfl2: Yes, those student nurses may some day be taking care of you. :scared1: ;) )

Wed.- my nephew (1 month old was dx with RSV) He's doing much better now. :)

Thurs.- my brother-in-law's parents home burnt to the ground. :sad1: They are good friends of ours & we stood in their yard with them & watched them lose everything. Absolutely horrific. However, the out pouring of love has been so great. Amazing actually.

Friday- doctors pulled the ventilator from my sister-in-laws neice that was born the day before on Thurs. She died instantly. :sad1: Poor baby girl. The parents of the baby live about a mile up the road from us.

Sunday (10th)- we got a phone call around 8 am from my neighbor telling us that my husband's cousin woke up & found her baby boy (6 months old) dead in his crib. :sad1: He was born premature, deaf in both ears & needed a feeding tube but he was doing so much better. Please remember the family in your prayers.

Yesterday- my neice was placed in the hospital for pneumonia (she's 11 months old). The doctor came in around 8 pm & told them that she also has RSV. Please remember her as well.

I failed a test yesterday by 6 points. :rolleyes1 I was in such a bad mood when I came home. My poor family.

I'm sorry. I didn't want to sound selfish & hog the board with my problems.

 for all that need them. I was able to read some of the posts from the last couple of days and I know that some of the peeps need hugs & prayers.

Born2bird: here's a  from me & one big :grouphug: from all of the Peeps

Later

OH, FRAN!

What a horrible week! This week can only be better.

Good lord woman....:grouphug: :grouphug: !!!!!

Do any of you use or have used Kettle Bells in your work outs?? I was watching a show where people were using them and they seem to be quite effective! I saw some at Target the other day and I of course had to try it out..HOLY Cardio and weight training!!! I just used the 10 lb one a couple times over my head and down and i already could tell it would be a great tool. Just wondering if any of you have used them before and what you think. Dawn, i am particularly interested to see if Anna has " tortured" you with these before ;) They seem pretty hardcore and that they would target the Core and love handles..which i NEED to tone and strengthen desperately!

And as to the deluxe DDP, go for it! We tried it last trip and it just about killed me, but it is still a good deal for the money. We paid full price and our total bill would have been about double if we had paid OOP (yes, I am anal and totalled the receipts).

I do the same thing. I have to know the difference.

I'm just checking in to say hi. :wave2: College classes are delayed for 2 hours. :thumbsup2

Thank you to all the Peeps who don't think I'm a smooch. :goodvibes I really don't get why all those people like to harass me so much, and why they have nothing better to do with their time then to bash people.

I had a good morning so far, as soon as I got on the DIS I checked the photography board's Valentine's picture contest results, and my pic is in second place so far. Granted it's still in the first stages of voting, but it has a chance of going to the final stage, since it is only the second day of voting, and it's only behind by one vote. Usually my pics get no votes, (granted I never take pics with the photo contests in mind, I just take pics of whatever I like, and I don't have a super fancy camera, just a Cannon Power Shot, I just happened to take the pic at the right second,) but this is one of my pictures that I really like, and I have it set as my wallpaper right now, so I'm glad it's doing well.

Morning peeps.

Fran I'm sending all the pixie dust I have your way. Nobody should have a week like you have had.

Well we finished our gym here at work and I got to use it yesterday. Today, I'm sore!!! I guess that's a good thing. I can't wait to get over there again today. I also walked 4 miles outside yesterday because the weather is gorgeous here.

I did get on the scale this morning and I'm up 2 lbs though. :scared1: Melinda, I think it was the flax seed. :rotfl:

We are going to WDW May 18-24. It's a golf and spa trip just for DH and I.

Have a good day all.

I am soooo excited--on phone with member services and I am staying at BEACH CLUB!!!! When I called yesterday we thought some friends my be going with us and we were looking for a 2 bed and nothing was there--they backed out and this is where we are staying. I am sooo excited---this is our home resort and we have only stayed here 1 night after a cruise and the weather was :headache: so we could not use the pool. Anyway sorry to ramble--just excited.:woohoo: :cool1:

Some good news, my birthday cake was ordered today, by my mom. Yes, I know I do vent about my mom repeatedly, but this is the fourth year in a row I've asked for the exact same cake, which she has always said I'm too old for, but she ordered it this year. Probably so I don't ask for it again next year.

I am picking it up tomorrow night, so we can have it on Wednesday. (She ordered it from the store I work at.) I'll be sure to post pics.

When is your birthday officially so we can give you some cool virtual-cybergifts ;) You'll be 25? Your still a pup! ahhhhh youth! :cutie:

UM: I was reading on another thread about the Space Mountain rehab at DL. Can you tell me what is different from the one at DW?
The one at WDW you sit in a single file row and it's much herky-jerkier than at DL. I can actually ride the one at DL without getting a whiplash or concussion The one at DL you sit next to another person (Norah rode for the first time last saturday!) In comparison, the DL one is smoother. The Matterhorn is really rough too. You'll just have to ride it to see for yourself, Sparkie

OH. MY. HECK! I'm speechless...except to say: Do you know how many diet Pepsi's I drink each day? And Crystal Lites? :scared: I automatically when all defensive and thought "well, maybe it's just sacchrin and not Nutra Sweet and Splenda" Is Stevia "natural"? I'm ded! :hippie:

I've never heard of them. I'll have to google them to see what all the hubub is all about. I'm picturing one of those huge bells hung around the neck of cartoon cows :rotfl2:

Tomorrow, and I'll be 24, though the high school boys at work call me old, I think they know it gets to me.

Oh how exciting for you. It's our home resort too but rarely do we get to stay here because I can't plan far enough in advance. We did stay here in Jan though (and got to use the pool) so I hope you have a MARVELOUS vacation. We are waitlisted for here for May also but since DH and I are not going to the parks anyway, we are fine staying at our other resort, SSR.

Just don't spend too much time at Beaches and Cream--it's not peep friendly in there. :rotfl:

Just a quick fly-by today. I take one day off of work and I come back to an email in-box full of problems.

aaron - so what are the rules for the v-day challenge? since i already lost what i was gonna loose, does that count? as of right now i'm 1 pound over my goal, but technically last week i was 1 pound UNDER my goal. confused????
The challenge is a pretty informal thing, so you can count it either way. I've added your +2 to the spreadsheet, but you can choose to ignore it if you want.

thanks for reposting aaron :) although how am i going to get those last 2.2 lbs off before thursday morning! eeeeek! lol :scared1:

Are you posting to us from Disneyland?

:lmao:

Ok peeps I have a question. I bought a phone from DisneyMobile last May, it was a limited edition Steamboat Willie phone and I HAD to have it. Well before I got it I called my current service provider and asked them when my contract was over. Well it wasn't until July 2008 so I talked to DH and told him tearfully I would return the phone (I orginally got it because of a deal they were having if you paid it with your Disney Visa) anywho, I sent back the phone in June 2007 (within the 30 day period to get a full refund). I was looking at my bill for months to see when they would credit it and as of Sept they have not, so I call. They tell me "I can't why you have not been credited as of yet but someone will get back to you". January I call back and get this message "as you know Disney Mobile has stopped their service as of Sept 30 2007, please hold on for a customer service rep" :scared1: They are no longer in business what?!? Anyway I get some smuck on the phone who tells me that I should get a credit to my accound in 30 days (with of course with a lot of me yelling telling them this is ridiculous I have to wait more than 6 months for a credit). My Feb bill comes, no credit. I call again ask for the guys I spoke to in January. Yes my peeps, he NO LONGER WORKS THERE. Anyway this person tells me that they are sending out refund checks the first week of March. This is my dilemna (sp???) after March 30-31st they are no longer going to be at the number I have. Do I call the third week of March and demand my check/credit. I don't really have the number to call a lawyer but I don't know what to do. They owe me $317.99. I told this new girl I spoke to the other day that is is ridiculous and all the fees I have been charged. Help me please, what should I do?

Laura

What ever it takes to get your money back!

Can I ask all you Peeps something? I'd like honest advice, but I don't want to be flamed.

I'm sure some of you know that I live with my parents, who are kind of controlling, and make up weird rules, that I do follow, even though I really don't get the point of them. I do vent once in awhile on the CB about them, I believe I've only vented four or five times in the last year though, which is like an average of one vent every two months.

I live in a high cost area, where rent is around $1,000 a month for the cheapest apartments, not including utilities, and all of those fun expenses. I spend about $1,500 a year on a trip to Disney World, which would be just over a month's rent.

Now some people say that I am "wasting" my money, and I should put that money towards an apartment. But the way I see it is that I do get away for almost two weeks when I go, and if I did move out, I would quickly go into debt. My pay isn't super high, but I do make enough to pay my parents rent, (which is less then I would be paying if I had an actual apartment, but it is a few hundred a month,) pay all my own bills, (insurance, student loans, cell phone, etc,) and buy my own groceries and stuff.

People say I "smooch" off my parents, but I don't see it that way, since I do pay rent, and take care of all my own stuff. Is it immature and lazy of me to go on one vacation a year that I can afford? Or should I move out and go into debt?

ETA - People also say I'm too old to be living with my parents, (I'll be 24 on Wed,) but a lot of people I know my age all live with their parents. Also, I do plan to move out eventually, with my DF, but with all the problems he's having right now, (with his heart,) it's just not a priority right now.

Who cares what other people think. All that matters is what's important to you. I think if you stayed away from that other board, your life would be much simpler.

HAVE A GREAT DAY!

I liked the real stuff better anyways. I don't drink much pop at all. One a month. But I do like to use the splenda in my coffee in the morning. Hmm. I may have to try something.

Fran. So very sorry about your week. I hope you are holding up ok. That's a lot of stress. I hope you can detox soon.

You are not rambling! You are sharing the pixie dust! Woo Hoo!

Someone please tell the scale its going the wrong way!

Maybe my body wasn't done adjusting after being sick.

Bonnie: Welcome back! You look awesome and I love your hair and now I'm gonna grow mine back out! :rotfl: I hope you had a great time.
