Ok peeps I have a question.

definitely do whatever it takes to get that money back.....that's ridiculous! cell phone companies expect us to pay by the month when we go over our minutes yet they can't refund you the money for merchandise you returned??? I DON'T THINK SO.

i have it programmed in my cell phone. :rolleyes1
I have it on my cell too. :goodvibes

Ok peeps I have a question. I bought a phone from DisneyMobile last May, it was a limited edition Steamboat Willie phone and I HAD to have it. Well before I got it I called my current service provider and asked them when my contract was over. Well it wasn't until July 2008 so I talked to DH and told him tearfully I would return the phone (I orginally got it because of a deal they were having if you paid it with your Disney Visa) anywho, I sent back the phone in June 2007 (within the 30 day period to get a full refund). I was looking at my bill for months to see when they would credit it and as of Sept they have not, so I call. They tell me "I can't why you have not been credited as of yet but someone will get back to you". January I call back and get this message "as you know Disney Mobile has stopped their service as of Sept 30 2007, please hold on for a customer service rep" :scared1: They are no longer in business what?!? Anyway I get some smuck on the phone who tells me that I should get a credit to my accound in 30 days (with of course with a lot of me yelling telling them this is ridiculous I have to wait more than 6 months for a credit). My Feb bill comes, no credit. I call again ask for the guys I spoke to in January. Yes my peeps, he NO LONGER WORKS THERE. Anyway this person tells me that they are sending out refund checks the first week of March. This is my dilemna (sp???) after March 30-31st they are no longer going to be at the number I have. Do I call the third week of March and demand my check/credit. I don't really have the number to call a lawyer but I don't know what to do. They owe me $317.99. I told this new girl I spoke to the other day that is is ridiculous and all the fees I have been charged. Help me please, what should I do?
I have no advice on what to do, but I hope everything works out, and you're able to get your money back.

I think I have the same Tinker Bell shirt you're wearing in the picture. :goodvibes The green one with the flowers? I just got one two weeks ago from Disney Shopping online.

Can I ask all you Peeps something? I'd like honest advice, but I don't want to be flamed.

I'm sure some of you know that I live with my parents, who are kind of controlling, and make up weird rules, that I do follow, even though I really don't get the point of them. I do vent once in awhile on the CB about them, I believe I've only vented four or five times in the last year though, which is like an average of one vent every two months.

I live in a high cost area, where rent is around $1,000 a month for the cheapest apartments, not including utilities, and all of those fun expenses. I spend about $1,500 a year on a trip to Disney World, which would be just over a month's rent.

Now some people say that I am "wasting" my money, and I should put that money towards an apartment. But the way I see it is that I do get away for almost two weeks when I go, and if I did move out, I would quickly go into debt. My pay isn't super high, but I do make enough to pay my parents rent, (which is less then I would be paying if I had an actual apartment, but it is a few hundred a month,) pay all my own bills, (insurance, student loans, cell phone, etc,) and buy my own groceries and stuff.

People say I "smooch" off my parents, but I don't see it that way, since I do pay rent, and take care of all my own stuff. Is it immature and lazy of me to go on one vacation a year that I can afford? Or should I move out and go into debt?

ETA - People also say I'm too old to be living with my parents, (I'll be 24 on Wed,) but a lot of people I know my age all live with their parents. Also, I do plan to move out eventually, with my DF, but with all the problems he's having right now, (with his heart,) it's just not a priority right now.

Nebo gets away with it all the time

Utahmama- Glad you had fun at Disneyland. Be sure to post a link to your mini disneyland segment.

I could have had a better lunch than what i had today. But, I'm kinda tired of salad. And a chicken sandwich isn't that bad:rolleyes1 I even had orange slices with it.

Thanks Monica! Disneyland is so awesome! It was really hard to day good-bye this time since our AP's expire this week and no other trips are financially possible. Took lots of pics so I'll post them on my WDW TR as a mini-chapter...to make it super confusing.
Welcome back UM! I love Disneyalnd...it is just "classic" Disney to me.

Hi Peeps! I'm just home from WDW, and I am ashamed to say that I gained back 8 of my 20 pounds lost over the course of a week. Waaaaah! But I did plan to cheat, so what can a girl expect? :confused3 Im' back on the wagon today though!

How's it been going over here? Are you guys all having a skinny week so far?
You are so gorgeous!

Ok peeps I have a question.
If it was me and they owed me that much I would keep calling them until they give you a check number or tracking number for your refund. That is way too much money to just be out because they are not in business anymore! I would call back the first week of march and demand that info, or a refund to your credit card immediately. That is ridiculous!! OH, and when you call dont talk to anyone but a manager. Dont even start telling your story to the poor person who answers the phone, demand a manager and start there. Good luck!

Can I ask all you Peeps something? I'd like honest advice, but I don't want to be flamed.
I think you are fine right where you are! 24 is not that old to be at home. And you are living well within your means right now, and not being stupid and stretching yourself too thin and going into debt. You pay rent and expenses so you are not mooching off of anyone! And it isnt like you see this as a permanent place for you to live and expect your parents to support you forever. You have plans for your future, but they are understandably on hold until you get your DF's health issues under control. If you can afford one nice trip every year and still take care of all your expenses and sock some into savings, I say do it!

Disneyfav4ever- Don't listen to those "mean girls". You want to save your money while you still can...this coming from a mother of 4. You are not mooching if you pay rent and all your expenses yourself. I want my son ( the almost 19 year old) to stay with me as long as he can to get schooling out of the way, and he also works full time. I'm sure my "rules" don't suit him, but really, $1000 minimum would be killer for you. Just bite the bullet and co-exist nicely. Or you could move out and share expenses with someone who is like you and wants to move out of their parents home. You just have to make a list of all the pros and cons.

I moved out of my parents home back when I was your age and hooked up with a roommate with my same value system. We worked opposite shifts and had our own space. You might check roommates wanted ads. You never know! You may find a nice person to share expenses with and save your sanity :cool2:

Those people on the CB and Circle of Sarcasm are vicious to you. You are much better than they are. Please don't listen to them! I can tell they're getting to you. You have enough to deal with without them constantly assuming things about you. They are just bullies.

If the place you are at right now, your parents, is a toxic place or if it doesn't feel safe etc. then please consider finding a nice roommate. You never know! I've had some amazing roommates (and some not so great).

Hope your DF's health improves! Your plate is full!!!! :cheer2:

How you spend your money and vacation money is your business. We all have to budget for our vacations. I'm such a budget board lurker!

I'm sure you'll get only support here. Whatever you decide...best of luck to ya!

If the place you are at right now, your parents, is a toxic place or if it doesn't feel safe etc. then please consider finding a nice roommate. You never know! I've had some amazing roommates (and some not so great.)
For some reason I've seemed to almost always have bad luck with roommates. I've had six different roommates in my life, (including the ones I had while in school,) and only one I really liked, one was absolutly horrible, and the other four, well, one was horribly messy, which I couldn't stand, (I'm not a neat-freak, but she was messy to an extreme,) and the other three I was just indifferent too mostlty.

I'm safe at my parents house, safer then I would be if I found a cheap rundown apartment in the downtown area. My parents are annoying, but I actually rarely see my dad since we have different schedules, he goes to work at 5:00 AM, comes home around 4:00 PM, I usually go into work around 5:00 PM, so we usually don't see each other most of the time.

Of course we're both home now since I worked a day shift today, but he's downstairs with his beer, watching tv, so until he goes to bed I'll be on the DIS. The computer is in his room, so when he goes to bed, I'm offline for the rest of the night. That's actually something I don't get, why the computer is in their room instead of the family room. I'm a night owl, but can't get on the computer after eight or nine most nights since he goes to bed, or comes up and kicks me off to watch You Tube, which is a favorite past-time of his. I like You Tube to, so no judgement there, except we do like to watch different things. He likes to watch Jacka** and stuff, and I watch Disney World things mostly.

Anyway, I really think that the computer should be in the family room instead of their room, (especially since I'm the one paying for the internet now,) but I don't complain about it, that much anyway.

What she said! I was going to answer you myself, but as usual the wise and wonderful Wendy has said it best!

DisneyLaura~

Have you contacted in them in writing. Always put it in writing and ask for confirmation in writing. I'd also threaten to call your state's attorney general's office to report this. If they refund check doesn't come soon, do follow up with the attorney general.

And also, I really hate that they, (you all know who I mean,) keep bringing up the fact that I have the deluxe DDP on my next trip. I don't get what's wrong with that either, if they do read all my posts, (which I think they do, because they have to get their "entertainment" somewhere,) they'd know that I got it with the bounce-back promo for cheap, and they'd also know that, (since they brought up I have a messed up diet plan, I do not like that they can read the Peeps board, that irks me for some reason,) I'm not planning on doing three sit down meals a day. I just booked it so I could eat at the signature restaurants for cheap, since I do consider myself a foodie, and then I can also do all the character breakfasts.

Aaron~

Happy Birthday!

I think it's great that you spend your birthday with your Mom. I remember sending my Mom flowers for my 30th birthday. It was 2 months after I had my first baby. You never realize how much your Mom loves you til you have your own child!

Sweetie~ just stay away from the Community Board!!!!They obviously get their entertainment from giving you a hard time.....so not worth it. You can post what ever you want to here. If they come here to harass you, we've got your back!pirate: :darth: I know it's hard to do, but just stay away!

I agree with the others w/ respect to your living arrangements. I don't see any problem w/ living at home if it is the best decision for you financially. In fact, I have two friends here that are about to move in with her parents for a while and sell their townhouse, so that they can save for a stand-alone house. They are both in their 30s and have a child under 1, and this will save on child care as well.

And as to the deluxe DDP, go for it! We tried it last trip and it just about killed me, but it is still a good deal for the money. We paid full price and our total bill would have been about double if we had paid OOP (yes, I am anal and totalled the receipts).

Honey, my best advice would be to live your life the way you want to and the CB people be darned. It sounds like you have your head on straight and enjoy your life and they are just petty and jealous.

I always tell myself I shouldn't go over there or to you know where, but most of the time I don't even listen to my own common sense.

Some good news, my birthday cake was ordered today, by my mom. Yes, I know I do vent about my mom repeatedly, but this is the fourth year in a row I've asked for the exact same cake, which she has always said I'm too old for, but she ordered it this year. Probably so I don't ask for it again next year.

I am picking it up tomorrow night, so we can have it on Wednesday. (She ordered it from the store I work at.) I'll be sure to post pics.

ok- I've skimmed through.

born2bird  Hope grandpa gets better.

disneyfav4ever: Stay at home as long as you can. My DS is 19 and briefly thought of moving out on his own until he realized that he wouldnt have any $$. And as his mom- I cant complain. I wasnt ready for him to leave anyway. I have changed the way I parent essentially a grown man. He is not in school but does work full time. So I dont think there is anything wrong with living at home.

disneyLaura: I think I would call everyday. They have had long enough.

UM: I was reading on another thread about the Space Mountain rehab at DL. Can you tell me what is different from the one at DW?

Happy Birthday Aaron!!!

Thanks for all the congrats on my girls dance. We go to Memphis in April. So any Peeps from the Memphis area? I'll take all the driving advice I can get.

Oh- The first night in the hotel me and mom couldnt sleep- Anybody else ever went to the hotel fitness center at 3am and walked on the treadmill? Felt a little silly in my pj's and my tennies but I needed to destress from my drive I guess.

Somebody asked when everybody was going to the world.

We will be there June 30 to July 13. I've never been able to go 2 years in a row so I'm really excited- gonna be really broke- but its only money right ;)

We are arriving June 30- going to MK and dinner at CRT. Then July 1- ? maybe TL and that evening we have meet with the dance group for a practice (Guess you see why we are going now) July 2-8 Dance Competition and Dance workshops. Then July 9-13 me time at Disney!!

DH and I may take some time to do Epcot or DTD by ourselves - you know without anybody saying hurry up, can we go yet? DD's will be with the dance teacher at the workshops so we thought we might just enjoy some adult Disney time. Any suggestions?

Can I ask all you Peeps something? I'd like honest advice, but I don't want to be flamed.

i don't think a flame has ever existed on this thread!

i think you should live your life the way YOU want to. to each his own. personally if i lived with my mother i'd kill her. :rotfl2: but my uncle is 60 years old and still lives with my grandparents. he got married for a couple of years awhile back, it didn't work out and he moved back home simply because he was happy there. he makes plenty of money and could buy his own house - he just prefers their company and is happy there. do what you need to do in your own time. it's YOUR life. and you should spend YOUR money the way you want to.

i do have one suggestion: get a laptop with wireless so you can access the internet anytime you want to! :thumbsup2 that way you wouldn't have to bend to your dad's wishes of when he goes to bed. a basic laptop is not much these days.

And also, I really hate that they, (you all know who I mean,) keep bringing up the fact that I have the deluxe DDP on my next trip. STOP GOING TO THAT THREAD!!!!!! (<---------said with a tone of tough love)

what she said!

amy[/B] - have you updated your TR lately? i know you got really busy with work and everything. i just don't know if i've checked it lately or not. i wanna make sure i'm not missing anything!
Thanks for asking Dawn but I haven't updated in a while.I only have one day left to do but I have been suffering from a little Disney depression and haven't spent time on the trip reports board.I really only check this thread and one other...

Can I ask all you Peeps something? I'd like honest advice, but I don't want to be flamed.

I was going to give my 2 cents worth but everyone else said what I was going to say.:thumbsup2 BTW,my DH lived with his parents until we got married. He was 26 yrs old.He also paid rent once he had a full time job.

Diet-I have been doing well but tonight was hard.I was hungry when I got off work at 10:15 pm tonight and Dunkin Donuts was calling my name. Then I had to stop at the grocery store hungry, tired and craving something sweet.I came out with no junk and drove home without stopping at a fast food place.:cheer2: Today was HIGHLY stressful but I stayed under my calories with no "empty" calories eaten ....:goodvibes

Happy crappy Monday Peeps,

We had a terrible weekend and it just keeps getting worse.
And while extremely trivial in the great scheme of things, my knee is still a wreck. It is just adding insult to injury.
 to you and your family. My heart goes out to you.

Thanks for all of the birthday wishes, everyone! I spent the day the same way I've spent every birthday for the past 10 years - with my mom. We used to go gambling, but realized that we never won. So now we just do lunch and either see a movie or just watch TV. Although today, she helped me clear the big 10 foot wide, 12 foot long, 5 foot deep snow drift in my driveway. What a great mom!
