DISappearing PEEPS Volume 2

Happy birthday Sandy!

I lost 1/2 lb this week, so once again, no big loss, but I am going down, and that all that matters.

DF is once again doing "errands" for his work again today. He said this morning that he misses doing his actual work, especially when he sees the other people doing it wrong. I miss my old jobs too sometimes, but because I like what I did, not because I cared if other people did it right, LOL.

Sandy!!!

I stayed the same this week

Disneyfav4ever.....Ditto what Danielle said about the mean people. How can people enjoy scanning the DIS for mean things to say about others? What a sad, pathetic existence.
I know, and they say I waste too much time on the DIS, while they are spending much more time bashing me over there. I counted, in their top ten most recent threads, three of them are about me. I wonder what they'd do if I did stop posting on the DIS.

oh belated HAPPY BIRTHDAY SANDY ! :)

so its snowing here..then 2 minutes later it stops, then rains..THEN snows again..i think the weather is a bit bi-polar! Either way, its rather annoying but i will take it over any of those other crazy storms that have been going on!!
Dawn..i can't believe those pictures..holy moley!! talk about wicked weather..i'll take my indecisive weather any day!

I KNOW! ;) What WOULD they do indeed. Like I said in my PM to you, thank goodness for Karma! Have you noticed they turn on each other too?

It's good to know though, that when a thread goes bad randomly, it's them provoking. For the most part, DISsers are GOOD people.

Now, unintentional misunderstandings happen even here, on the Happiest Thread On Earth :grouphug: Like, if a newbie feels ignored or unsupported or unwelcome, they might leave. I get SO sad for things like that!

Yep, I have noticed that they turn on each other. That must be when there is nothing they can find on the DIS to bash, but of course they still need to do something.

I got done paying my monthly bills today. Since most of my bills are on easy pay I only had to pay off most of my bills on my credit card, with the exception of my rent, which I had to write each of my parent's seperate checks for, (you think I could just write one check, and they could split it, but nope I have to write them each a check for half of my rent,) and my student loan I send in seperatly.

Since I had done a no-buy January, (and am trying to do a no-buy February,) I had quite a bit of money left over, even after bills, so I paid off a couple hundred dollars to my student loans. Hopefully I'll be done with them by the end of this year.

ok - what? How did y'all know I needed to hear these things? A thread is going terribly wrong, and I know its not meant to hurt my feelings, I know I"m just extra emotional (my bday # and all) so I know its either cry or eat... or what/?? its too cold and snowy outside to get out and run, and we only have one car, so I cant get to the gym...

so I'm not wallowing in self pity - really!!

(its a thread on event/comp board about ordering Team Shirts - I keep stating my opinion, and they arent LISTENING to me!! Most of them are real runners, and skinny I'm not. BUT darn it I want to dress pretty... I dont like wearing a man's XL shirt because its the only choice!! They are ordering "new pretty girlie shirts" and I want one, but the company says that XL = size 12... WHAT??!! no way - but that is the reality in the running world.

so the women are going to get the pretty v-neck shirts and they are all going to be wearing them (not showing off... really, its not their fault I"M FAT) and I'm going to wear a mans xl shirt - but the bottom line is, at least I can fit into a mans shirt and at least I'm still part of the team right?

oh and the thread that is going wrong... when another poster found a website that does the pretty cut women's style in my size and a man's tech shirt in XXXL (because there are some incredible stories of guys that are doing this and are succeeding!) and my dh and a few other veterans saw a spectacular shirt and said, "we should do that for a new WISH shirt" and we did... horror has erupted..." How dare we have 3 new design/color/shirts? How can we possibly be a team with 3 choices... or I'd never wear that hideous looking shirt, so etc etc..

(eta link http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1714704
keep in mind I had a really thoughtful post on another eye2eye shirt thread, but carrie needed to start a new thread - and that's the emotional one! and I have the utmost respect for Carrie, and everyone that has posted - I'm upset because *I*'m fat... and *I* cant wear the pretty new shirts)

really paraphrased...

bottom line..

I think I needed to vent!!

Sandy, here's a great big hug wrapped in chocolate. I so know how that feels. I am so sorry you are hurting. I hate that. Please smile and get beyond that. You are such a terrific person. I hope you realize that. You are very special and loved by us. I want you to be happy.

Sandy, don't let em get you down. That shirt size isn't near as important as the fact that you are running. Nobody can take that away from you and I'm so impressed that you are doing it. You're a real runner too. In fact, you are the only runner I know so that makes you my hero.

isn't that a great feeling!!! i am trying to lose weight in my debt this year too as well as on me..i told myself i can't buy anything with a credit card..and so far this year..i haven't yet! yay :) its very liberating knowing you can save a bit here and there...

Sandy! Don't you dare let them make you feel upset!!!! You should be amazingly proud that you do what you do...regardless of your attire! :thumbsup2

Sandy - Please dont be upset about the t-shirts. I went jogging for the first time in about 3 years after work today, and no word of a lie I thought of you - like an inspiration! Please dont let the size of a t-shirt undo all the hard work you have put into your running.

Disneyfav4eva - - Just because! UM is right, Karma all the way!

Okayyy, for reals I'm off like a terd of hurtles!

It's totally ok if no one keeps the stats. I'll do it when I get back. I need to anyway to keep my official spreadsheet current :thumbsup2

Sandy!!!! There's a solution out there, I know the peeps will help ya! I think you're a cutie anyway. Not that you wouldn't look SMASHING in a toddler t-shirt.
Stay away from the snacks!!!!! Pleeeeease! :flower3:

Sandy, don't worry about the shirt. I think it's insane that the XL size for women is only a size 12.

I think I may go over in calories today, but maybe not. I had a brownie cookie, (50,) tortellini, (450,) and cheese and crackers, (500, crackers add up calories much too quickly.) That's it so far, and I'm already up 10 1,000. Okay, so maybe I won't be over. I do have work though, so as long as I don't snack there, I should be good. I have been sticking to my one soda a day rule for the last few days now.

Since this is reporting day on our Challenge thread, I thought I would share my results with my peeps. Now we had to report how many miles we exercised along with how many miles. Here is how I did:

Week 1 - Feb. 1 - 7

Total Miles: 16.32

Total Minutes: 273 or 4 hr. 33 minutes

Very nice!! I haven't done squat this week beacuse of my knee.

Hey - I'm a newbie. I was introduced to this thread by Faith - a very good friend of mine. She invited me to come over here. Wow - what a great group of people providing a safe and supportive environment.

My name is Tina, I'm 37, a single mom and have a DS14 who fortunately has no weight problem! I have a lot of weight to lose - but unlike most people, have NOT spent my whole life trying every diet known to man. I am starting now. I have to. I'm definitely an emotional eater - and hate hate hate exercising, but did join a gym over a year ago, so I know that when you exercise you do actually feel better. Not sure about actually joining again, but going to start out by walking.

From reading, I understand that Friday's are weigh in days? I will definitely be back to report if that's ok with all of you!! Thanks!!

WELCOME to the Peeps!! :welcome: This is such a fun and supportive group.

i can't remember if i mentioned it or not, but those tornadoes that came through tuesday night hit my grandmother's house around 1:30 a.m. she has almost no trees left in her front yard - they're very lucky it didn't take out their house. here's some pics my mom sent me......

pic3.jpg

as you can see, these were big trees! this is my mom next to the uprooting.....

and some of you had asked me about that 11-month-old baby they found in a field in castalian springs. i saw the story on world news tonight. they found his father, but his mother was killed in the storm. :sad1:

I am so glad that your grandmother and her home were spared. I can't imagine how frightened you and your family must have been. How sad about the baby boy that was found. Thankfully, he has one surviving parent.

Guess what????

:cool1:  :yay: :woohoo:

We're taking a mega spontaneous drive 9 hours to the south west of us!!!!

Our Disneyland AP's expire next week. So park entrance is FREE this time.

We're taking the Toyota not the Suburban so we'll get great mileage.

Booked a no- tell motel called the Islander Inn and Suites (two full stars, out of 5). We bought snacks and breakfast stuff at Walmart.

It's a quest to do it for as little $ as possible.

Jordan is staying. No, I will not be a grandmother in 9 months. Thanks for thinking that. LOL!!!!
He's in charge of the pets...please pray for my 2 dogs and 2 cats whilst I'm gone.

So we're going from a grey slushy cold winter day to the 70's and a little sunshine! Not to mention the new Nemo ride!

The goal is 3:00 leave time. 5 hours later we'll be at Buffalo Bills at the State Line of Nevada where mama will attempt to win some souvenir $ by playing Texas Holdem. Won't win and will be stuck with pin trading and photographs only.

Do you know how CHEAP it is at Buffalo Bills? $59 for a double queen size bed room. ((High Five!))

Crazy or What???? Sheez it's certifiable! Or brilliant?

Anyway...I'll be around to record our weights but will someone reliable back me up and take over with the totals after all have recorded? Please try to post early-ish, ok? Will that someone PM me with the totals?

Both the name and + or - and then the grand total for the day. I'd be much abliged :flower3:

Ok, I'm all set from my broccoli stir fry dinner.. Gut is already rumbling.

Good for you UM!! I hope you win big at the Texas Holdem.:wizard: Think of the fun you could have with some extra spending cash...:thumbsup2

Have a great time on your impromtu trip. We expect details about the new Nemo ride.

LMO - good luck with wedding dress shopping! when i was shopping for mine i had it narrowed down to two. i told my parents i would pay for the dress myself if they'd help with everything else. so i was trying to be sensible about the cost. i was gonna go with the cheaper one. i loved it, but of course not as much as the more expensive one i couldn't afford. well, i was trying on the one i was gonna by for my parents and my best friend and my best friend goes, "dawn, try on the other one." (they were both at the same store) i'm like, "no.....i don't want to. i know i'm not gonna get it and it'll just depress me." she kept insisting and so finally i did. when my dad saw me in the other one, he came up to me and in a very low voice asked me how much it was. i told him and he said, "get this one. i'll help you with the difference." :goodvibes it was such a sweet moment. brings a tiny tear to my eye!!!

awwww, thanks for sharing that sweet moment! What a wonderful family you have.

No weigh in for me today. I did not exercise nearly as much as I should have because of my gimpy knee. I hope to have a big loss for next week though.

HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND PEEPS!!

A VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ONE OF OUR FAVORITE PEEPS (and my IRL friend too)...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SANDY!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SANDY

GOOD MORNING! :sunny:
Laura....I LOVE Fiber One too! It's way cheaper at Target than at my grocery.

I gotta go check that out. Glad I'm not the only one who loves it.

Sandy321 Ok first of all an XL is not a size 12 and second those people are rude. Third you are a runner, look at what you accomplished. WE are very proud of you:thumbsup2 And yes you are part of that team and you are going to beautiful in any shirt you wear.

Ok I am +2 lb this week. I am so ashamed. I ate really bad on Monday night, the night before I get weighed in at WW. BUt I've been doing good with tracking my points since then. So here's to a good weigh in on Tuesday (my fingers are crossed). I did have a little problem at the mall today but I will not discuss that because it's done and that's it.

Laura

Sandy - :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: I would like one of those shirts, but I haven't voiced an opinion yet. I am having a hard time keeping up with all the different choices. I'm still not sure what all the "fuss" is about. Here's a few more :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: for ya'.

My mouth's too big for my own good. I went over to that other forum, and started posting. No one has really ripped into me yet though, I bet that's just a matter of time though. :rolleyes1

Thanks for all the support and

Being able to vent here helped - I only ate one extra chocolate dove candy (blech, I'm a milk chocolate person!! So that was good, I got the chocolate, but didnt eat the whole bag!! :rotfl2: )

Dawn Those pictures speak volumes!!! prayers, positive thoughts :wizard: and :pixiedust: for a calmer year... decade... etc!! and I love your wedding dress story... it does bring a tear of joy out!!

LMO congrats on your wedding shopping - my ds is getting married Jan '09 and I'm blessed that fdil is including me in a lot of the decsions - she picked a place to hold the reception and invited me along - her mom disagreed with her choice, and I spoke up - that it didnt matter where the wedding took place, it matters how they feel about the marriage - the marriage should be the focus - her mom now calls me a radical HIPPY!! :hippie: :rotfl2: cant help it but that makes me so laugh!!

disneyfav delete that site, nothing good can come of it - they are too good at negative debate, they thrive on making you hurt or hate!! Dont give into them, it will hurt them more if you walk away!! (and by "them" I mean the haters, as in everything, its not fair of me to generalize - obviously they are not "all" like that - I think its funny that they use the "f" words etc so often -

shirts again, thanks for your overwhelming support and love - and letting me vent here - safely - its one of those situations that if I vented to dh he would've wanted to "fix" it, and I knew if I just let it go, things will calm down... and they seem to have done just that!! It always works out, its just the heat of the moment, you have to walk away, and yet, you cant!!

and stop "admiring" me!! :rotfl2: for the newbies, I'll have to post my picture - I hope I have the really, really ugly one of me from the marathon!!

:grouphug: Peeps
LY/MI
(love ya/mean it)

WOOHOOTY

post 600

WOOHOOTY

its the little things!!

for newbies the woohooty is a celebration of the numbers - it goes back to an original "clique" thread that made us LOL - now its just a joyous celebration - and if you get up and jump up and down while you say woohooty you get exercise points!! :thumbsup2
