DISappearing Peeps...A fastpass to THIN! Part 4

Hi Everyone! :wave2:

I am back from my trip, as of last night. There was much bad eating, and I suppose I will weigh tomorrow even though I am SURE that I will be up at least a few lbs. Tonight was also a bad night, but I am hoping to jump back on by the weekend.

WDW was very fun, as usual. We didn't have any smoke issues, and the weather was great. The 2 days at CSR were nice but the 3 at the Wilderness Lodge were *awesome*. I didn't know what to expect there but we loved it.

I may do a trip report, my first here on DIS. We hit 3 of 4 parks (no AK), and both water parks. Got a "dream" (free locker, towels, mugs, and water wallet) in Typhoon Lagoon, and was the first down Summit Plummet for the day.

We are watching videos from trip in Jan and the new trip, and DH commented on how much thinner I look in this trip video, so that makes me feel rather good.

I read through all 20+ pages that I missed but there are too many to comment on all of them...

MickeysMainMami, welcome to the thread, and so sorry for your loss.

Dene' and Shannon, you are both beautiful!

Right now I am dying for some ice cream!!!!!!!!!!!! Help!!!!!!!!!!! I don't keep any at the house because I know I'll eat it, so now I'm fighting the urge to jump in my mini van and run to dairy queen..........................I guess it's a good thing that I'm also feeling very lazy!:)

UMA or lexmelinda (i don't know which one of you is keeping count tomorrow!) - i will be weighing in late tomorrow. i have a deposition tomorrow morning in atlanta and so i won't be online until i get home, probably either very late afternoon or evening. i don't think that's an issue, but since i usually post my weigh-in numbers in the morning i wanted to be sure you knew i'd be around later. ;)

winkers - resist the evil ice cream!!!!!!!!!! it's the day before weigh-in.......wait until tomorrow night! :lmao: would a glass of low fat milk help? usually when i'm craving something like ice cream it's just that i need a dairy fix!

Welcomes, welcome backs, and where are da rest of da Peeps?

Posting my weigh-in results a little early... gonna be busy all day Friday and most of Saturday.

-4.4 lbs.

Weight stayed the same, BUT I've lost 6 or 7 inches since we measured last! And I'm wearing a size smaller pants! Very excited about that.

Congrats, Twinkie! Yea! What great news!

OK, seriously no time to catch up at this point! But I would NOT leave without saying good-bye to my Peeps!!! :goodvibes I'm only here at work until noon today, and I have lots to do, but I wanted to say that I will miss you all. Have a great week Peeps! I weighed in a day early today. And I did not make goal, but I am only 1.6 lbs away. So I am at 221.6, for a loss of 3 lbs, I think. And a total loss so far of 28.4 lbs. I can deal with that! Now I just hope I don't do TOO much damage on the trip! :scared1:

Love you all! I'll try to pop in while we're gone, but who knows! :yay:
Congrats on getting so close to your goal!
Have a great rest of the week and weekend Peeps! I'll miss you and think of you! If any of you are going to be in WDW and didn't tell us (shame, shame on you!), look for my lime green mickey head! I'm going to try to stalk, I mean, find Lynda but we haven't made a set meeting time or place. Bye for now! :cutie:
me too! I'm leaving Saturday! I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for you and Lynda both! I'll be with a group of eight so I didn't think I could make definite plans to meet anyone.
Hi Everyone, I really want to join! I need to know how to get that weight loss ticker on my page if anyone can help. I didn't think I would be starting this until sometime after October, but tragedy struck me. I was 19 weeks pregnant and last Friday, I lost the baby. This is the 5th failed pregnancy for us, and I think the last one for a while. So right now, I am going to focus on me.
I'm so sorry for your losses and glad you're joining us. Lots of support here.
My life is outta control lately. Just wanted to say a quick hello. Miss ya!
Glad to "see" you! Hang in there!
WDW was very fun, as usual. We didn't have any smoke issues, and the weather was great.
We've been worried about the smoke but everyone seems to be saying the same thing so I'm being hopeful! Glad you had a great time! Let us know if you do a report.
Welcomes, welcome backs, and where are da rest of da Peeps?

Posting my weigh-in results a little early... gonna be busy all day Friday and most of Saturday. -4.4 lbs.

Congrats! You are an inspiration.

I've been lurking more than posting lately and I have a feeling my posts are going to be coming fewer and farther in between.

I love the Peeps, but things have been and continue to change for me in real life... in good ways. I'll drop by periodically to let you know how the weight loss is going and to update the pix. And I'll let you know if anything significant happens in the love life department.

Wow... I feel like a Lost Boy who realizes he's ready to leave Neverland and begin a whole new adventure in the real world...

Good night, Peeps.

Love, Dene'

 Melinda!!

My life is outta control lately. Just wanted to say a quick hello. Miss ya!

Well that doesnt sound good!! :grouphug: and yet, I can relate!

she mentioned being at world of disney (or somewhere at DTD) and looking at that stuff, but she didn't have time to pick anything out. and we were so tired when we were at downtown disney and in such a hurry to get out of there that i didn't look at anything that wasn't necessary! i'd like to take my time in that store next time i go and really look around. i know her taste pretty well and i think she'd like what i'd pick out for her. do they make kits that have everything (or pretty much everything) included?

What Belle says : Its what I was thinking about Michaels and the 40% coupon in Sunday's papers!!
Punkin-Michael's has kits that come with a cute Disney album, paper and stickers. They have a nice selection with different sizes. I got one for my upcoming trip. I used the 40% off coupon that is usually in their Sunday ads. They also have a lot of other things you could buy to go with it.

Eventer- on the job situation. I hope everything works out!

I hate it when they leave shows with a cliffhanger and they are not renewed!! I was really into the show Reunion on Fox and they cancled it before they revealed the ending. I was so mad!

:goodvibes You took the words right out of my typewriter... I mean computer!! :rotfl2:

Is that who did it? I have been wondering!!

Lately if a show has filmed episodes, but gets cancelled, you can go to the networks website and download the last filmed episodes! or go online and google it - lots of times they'll be up on youtube! I think I have to rewatch Gilmore Girls, I'm sure its on youtube!!

Didya make it w/o heading to DQ?? I didnt :rolleyes1 I too have been craving the ice cream, then I watched some show talk about the guy that invented a new flavor for ben and Jerry's... with caramel in the center... I WANT ICE CREAM - so I bought some shebet!! (I know skinny cow is good, but I would eat too much all at once, with the sherbet, I can control the portion better!)

I bought a new vacuum - its been getting really really skanky around here - but I couldnt see investing $400 - $500 on a dyson (we dont have small children or pets) So after a week of looking, comparing, and reading online, I finally found my old vacuum cleaner brand - and it has survived 13 years after all, WALMART!! :woohoo: a plain old 12 amp (rated #8 in suck/cleaning power) Dirt Devil!! The back wheels are not stationary however... its almost more work pushing the dang thing forward than sideways!! LOL (and I'm putting more money to WDW!! LOL at my priorites, clean house, Mickey's house??? hmmm!!! :rotfl2: 0

+1 pd!!!!!!!!

Good God. I think that is my first gain since I joined in with you guys. Can someone please tell me it's related to AF showing up 5m. before I got on the scale??? It has to be. I guess she has never been around on a weigh-in day. I have a short cycle, about 4-5 days, so it's quite possible. Oh well. I suppose it could be worse. No eating out this weekend..I will tell you that!!!

I hope everyone has a great Friday...fingers crossed for lots of negative numbers!! :thumbsup2

Thanks for welcoming me with open arms. Does anyone have any tips on losing weight that could help? I am trying to do the LA Weightloss, but I really don't feel like doing anything so regimented ya know? I was thinking of loosley sticky to it, but also just cutting out the junk, trying to cut down the carbs, eat more veggies and fruit and get my butt moving!! :) I am sure if I go back and read through I will find some helpful hints on here, but there is 900+ pages and that is a lot of reading, he he, does anyone have anything to recommend that really helped you? Thanks!:goodvibes

Does anyone have any tips on losing weight that could help?
I used this method from caloriequeens.com....

Learning to live with food, not without food.
The hardest part about our sensible approach to weight loss is convincing people that it works. When we tell people that we've lost three hundred pounds eating fabulous food, they simply can't believe it. For most of us, trying to lose weight has always been associated with feeling deeply deprived while eating horrid food. But we'd "been there, done that" with the deprivation and horrid food. A lifetime of "yo-yo" dieting is how we got to be so fat!

Most of us with weight problems no longer have any idea what it takes to support a healthy weight. We're always either dieting or planning to diet. And when we're planning to diet, we're EATING! How do you lose weight and keep it off? You have to stop dieting, stop planning to diet, and start learning to eat correctly. How do you begin?

Choose a reasonable goal weight. Calculate your daily caloric intake using the following formula:
Female: Goal weight in pounds X 12 calories/pound = Daily caloric intake
Male: Goal weight in pounds X 14 calories/pound = Daily caloric intake.

Start eating a well-balanced diet that contains this number of calories.

After a few days, take a good, hard look at how you're doing. If you're not happy with the amount of food that maintains your goal weight, you have two choices: you can either start exercising or you can decide to weigh more. If you lose weight by eating less food than you're willing to subsist on forever, you're wasting your time. As soon you start eating more calories, you'll start gaining weight.

If you lose weight by "practicing" to maintain the weight you wish to achieve, you'll know how to sustain it when you get there. And we're living proof that it's possible.

Wow, Melinda, thanks for the help! So If I want to start by getting down to 200 pounds at first, I have to eat 2400 calories a day? That seems like a lot, but that's good! Now, do you guys know a website where a list of food items with thier calories are? I had remember seeing one before, but now I can't remember it. I want to plan out my day and see how much is in things, but unless it is on the package I won't know. I have some lean roast beef that I brought for lunch today. I have it on a pita with lettuc, tom, and a little smear of mayo, and some fruit to go with it. I know how much the pita and mayo is, but not sure of the deli roast beef. Also, my husband has been dying for chicken cutlets, and since I was pregnant and got sick while cooking anything, I didn't cook much and my husband can't really even boil water! Thank god he cleans!! Seriously, he mops the floors and vacums without even having to be asked! Anyway, I will only have two small chicken cutlets and then a veggie and another side, but not sure what the side is yet, but if I can find the website, I can look at options. Thanks for the help peeps!! Also, I know my sign in name is long, so if you want to call me M3, like Eeyore suggested, that's fine with me! Thanks for all your warm thoughts for me, they are really appreciated!!

So If I want to start by getting down to 200 pounds at first, I have to eat 2400 calories a day?
Yes...it's good to choose an intermediate goal if you have more than 50 to lose. Once you see a loss then you can drop the calories down to another goal. Here are some sites we use:

www.calorie-count.com
www.sparkpeople.com
www.calorieking.com

I also like www.hungry-girl.com and I am subscribed to their daily email which is wonderful.

I also like www.whfoods.com to look at the nutrional benefits of certain foods. They also have great recipes.

Have fun! :wave2:

Good Morning Everyone!

I lost 1 pound this week.

Mornin Peeps

Just breezin' in. Going to the Zoo today.

Hope everyone has a skinny day! I gotta get me some of those skinny pants.

I went to the zoo yesterday also. My little boy had a great time. He had been twice before but was young and couldn't remember any of it.

I didn't think I would be starting this until sometime after October, but tragedy struck me. I was 19 weeks pregnant and last Friday, I lost the baby. This is the 5th failed pregnancy for us, and I think the last one for a while. So right now, I am going to focus on me. Over the last 4 years of trying to have a baby and being pregnant, I have gained over 60 pounds. So I want to start off by losing 60 pounds and then another 20 after that. I need all the help I can get! I am an emotional eater, but I am determined this time not to eat myself into depression. I did LA Weightloss about 6 years ago and lost about 50 pounds, plus I worked out. I have a treadmill and a bowflex machine at home, so I don't need to go anywhere and have no excuses. I started my diet today, but I don't want to start exercising until my body heals a little more from the delivery. I think by next week, I should be ok. Plus, I have something to look forward to, and I would love to be 30 pounds lighter by september in time for our Disney trip! That's right, I am going back and can't wait, thinking about this trip was the only thing that kept me from crying myself into a stupor the last few days. All my energy is going to be on focusing on diet, exercise and my Disney trip. I appreciate any and all support you guys can give, because I am going to need it!! :grouphug:

:welcome: I'm so sorry about your lose.

Here's hoping the scales all tip in your favor today ladies!

Taking the boys to the Detroit Tigers game tonight. They are all excited. It should be fun and nerve racking at the same time. Matt's peanut allergy and a baseball game where peanuts are EVERYWHERE. We've been there once before and things went ok. Just nerve racking on my part.

Have a great day everyone!

-3 for the week!! Must update ticker...

I'm back from New Jersey...

Aries -- where is Hawthorne? I was in Monmouth county near the ocean... I hope you are far away from the fires!

Welcome, welcome!!! I am very sorry for your loss.

I too am fairly new to the peeps... this site has been invaluable to my quest to drop the poundage! I have a good friend who is doing the LA Weightloss plan and she has dropped over 50 lbs! I'm not ready for such a regimented plan, so I'm forging ahead on my own for now (with the help of my peeps). I think the best thing to do is go slow! Find one or two major things that you can change each week. In the beginning, for me, it was cutting out sugary drinks and getting in some exercise each day. I'll admit the sugary drinks were costing me major calories each day:headache: (and I don't miss them anymore). Next I started adding in whole grains and fruits and veggies AND counting the calories. It really helped/s to post my totals for the day on this thread -- I need the accountability!

So anyway, welcome! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

So my real advice -- count calories, eat lots of fiber, drink calorie free, exercise, and hang out with your peeps!

I was just going to post the same thing. I was doing WW up until recently and I just sort of got bored with it I think. I started this a few weeks ago and it works! I also recommend fitday.com. They have a place wher eyou can log your foods and calories and it does the amth for you...something I persnally ahte doing. I love that site. I find when I dont use it and write things down I seem to feel like they dont count, which of course is SOOO not true!!
