OH, I almost forgot! I am down an even 2 pounds today! I was completely shocked, and then did my little happy dance in the bathroom :rotfl: I tried to put the calories out of my head this week. I tried to just focus on the bigger picture and make good choices all week, but I honestly worried I wasnt going to lose. I didnt even cheat and weigh mid-week like I usually do.

Sometimes I get a little OCD about it and risk taking it too far. (you know, like I chew a stick of sugar free gum and think about the 2 calories it probably has in it. Or I run the vacuum and wonder how many calories that bruned....really nutso.) It helps me to take a few days off and then go back to it. So back to my counting this week, and posting my food...cuz I know you care what I ate :laughing:
 
lisa - WELCOME!!!! in case you haven't figured it out, fridays are weigh-in days! :scared1: you don't have to post your weight...just how much you've lost or gained (or stayed the same) since the last friday. so make a note of how much you weigh today so you can compare it next friday! utahmama or melinda keeps a tally of our total weight lost...it's pretty cool to see the number once you add it all up!

okay.....so i lost 2 poundsthis week!!!! :thumbsup2 i'm down to 140 now....10 pounds to go! that makes my total weight loss 18 pounds. i don't FEEL like i've lost 18 pounds though. i guess when you're wanting to lose the weight it seems like so much more than it really is!

just got off the phone with my sister. she and her BF are at the airport.....their flight to orlando was CANCELLED!!!! :sad2: us airways told them they were short-staffed, so they cancelled the flight. WHAT???? it's memorial day weekend. i don't understand how someone could be short-staffed. don't they have people on call in the travel industry on holiday weekends? anyway, their new flight doesn't leave til 12:30 and they don't get there until 5:45. i feel so bad for her. they were supposed to go to MGM today. they're still gonna go, but who knows how much they'll get done. i gave her the disney operator number so she can call to make sure ME is aware of the change and to change their ADR at 50's prime time cafe. how frustrating! i think i'm gonna call CBR (where they're staying) and see about getting a six pack of beer sent to their room so they have something nice waiting on them when they get there. i'm such a good sister!!! :angel:

hope everyone has good weigh-ins today!!!!! i'm waiting for my phone to ring because eventer is making ressies for us for next april at SSR.....how exciting!!! :woohoo:
 
I lost 0.4 pounds this week. Not a huge loss, but it is better than a gain. And as I've stated before - slow and steady wins the race. That slight loss brings my grand total weight loss to 26.8 pounds since the start of the year, and an uber-grand total of 50.8 pounds lost.

Welcome aboard Lisa! Looks like you've already got the hang of the Friday weigh-in!

Dismom - Chin-up! We've all been there. Today is the perfect day to reevaluate what you are doing wrong, and correct it! Record what you eat, drink lotsa water, enjoy the summer by going for long walks at night. You can do it!!!

Hello, all. Just found this thread and I could really use some company while I once again hit the diet/exercise and healthy lifestyle road. A couple of years ago I went on Southbeach and lost 56 pounds. It went really well until "after" vacation. All went well on vacation - so many healthy choices for salads and veggies and good carbs and lean meats! But, when we got back, I allowed myself to start compromising on things since there weren't quite the choices here as there were there. Then we moved and lived in an apartment for 6 months with most of our stuff in storage - fast food on a regular basis. Well, I gained back most of what I lost and we've since settled in at our new house and I'm beachin' again and just started a walking regimen on Monday (1 1/2 - 2 miles/day). I've lost 20 pounds since I started SB again, but need to lose about 50 to really feel healthier (I never did get quite down to my goal the first time).

We're going to WDW at the end of August and I want to not only be back into my smaller, cuter clothes, but I want to feel better while there instead of being out of breath the whole time like I was in my heaviest days.

I figure maybe some accountability and support couldn't hurt.

Thanks for reading, everyone! Any advice for maintaining control from anyone on Southbeach? I know what to expect from it, but am having a harder time going back on it strictly, I guess because I know what I have to give up.

I want to thank everyone for remembering my grandma and sending prayers her way. It looks like our holiday plans will remain unchanged. My husband and I will be taking my grandma to the funeral and then she will be coming back home with us. She told me that her brother had been really excited about her upcoming visit with us and she had just told him a couple of hours before he died. I'm really happy that she's coming back with us and not staying home to grieve all alone. Being with family is the best medicine for a broken heart. Thanks Peeps! :grouphug:

I lost 1 pound this week!:cheer2: I was so sure I had gained this week because it is my TOM and I went to see POTC 3 and ate a lot of popcornpopcorn:: :scared1: ....and it was goooooood! I had not had movie popcorn in a long time. So hopefully it doesn't show up NEXT weigh-in.

I am going to jump back on the weigh in wagon this week. I have maintained the same weight yet again this week. I am eating better but need to get some exercise in the mix. Things are starting to slow down with the daycare. I told all my families that I will work until the end of July but I expect that they will find other care and slowly trickle out during the next 2 months. I am going for orientation at the Walmart Distribution Center June 4-11 and then I will start my regular evening shift. So for about 2 months I will do daycare and Walmart. Hopefully that will help with the weight loss-sometimes we just need a change in routine.

yeah, but your going twice before i go back! :rotfl:

i'm watching so you think you can dance right now and i just LOVE this show. it's so great. i love watching the talented dancers, as well as the goofy ones! and i keep seeing previews for the new season of hell's kitchen.....i forgot to include that on the list of reality shows i watch! i love that show...he's so mean.....it's great! i worked in restaurants from the age of 18 til 25, so i guess that's why it appeals to me so much........i've been there and worked for monsters like that! :eek:

I LOVE both of those shows..i even got my boyfriend hooked on them. Cat Deely's crazy accent drives me nuts though..esp when she calls the judges " jidges"..nonetheless, i dig it :thumbsup2
Hells Kitchen is DEF. one of my faves, i love the obnoxiousness ( is that a word??) of Gordon and i love food, so there ya go! ;)

I'm back to weighing the same as the beginning.
Exercise and Water. Those are the 2 things I'm not doing. I'll admit it.
I think I totally need to re-evaluate everything I 've been doing wrong (everything) and right (I'm HERE!). I did lose the peep meet focus of September so that'll light a fire under my bum.

NO WHITE! (bread, pasta, rice, "bad"carbs...none! I can't DO them, not in moderation, not at all!)


WATER!!! not diet Pepsi alllll day. I drink it for energy! So, why do I NEED energy? I don't exercise!


EXERCISE! What almost 40 year old can lose weight without it? Seriously. I'm delusional to think my body can lose this weight without it and become fit and firm without it. Re-think!

I know I can do it! But I've wasted so much time!

I'm down .6!! I know it's not something to be that excited about but after staying the same for almost a month I'm happy for anything!
 
I am also same. I am just happy I didn't gain, after my week. I am up 3 lbs from my pre-WDW weight, for 198.8, but still down 20 from where I started at 218.

Had a great day for my birthday. plese think of me tomorrow.. 17th wedding anniversary.. Just going to try to get thru it.. no celebrating for me anymore..

I have been off the wagon recently and not exercising and I have been feeling achy and water retention-y. And I can't seem to get myself back on track :mad:

I'm going to try to ride Expedition Everest in September. I sat in the demo car and decided to take a pass in January.

I hear ya on the achy part. I was off the wagon for 2 weeks due to vacation and post-vacation slackness, and it made me feel terrible.

EE isn't too bad. I was close to 220 when we went on it, and DH was close to 270 (at 5'10) and we didn't have any issues. It is a car much like Big Thunder. However, it does go backward and is way more intense than BT, which might cause other problems.

It's not that exciting to me though b/c it's the pd I gained with AF last week. Grr. I put on shorts today for work. You guys know I hate shorts. I feel so bloated and fat in them. My capris are dirty though. I have longer shorts but they are super stiff and drive me nuts. I just need some shorts that fit but I don't want to spend the money. Dilemmas, dilemmas.

I am just jealous that you get to wear shorts to work! I am a programmer (online banking) for a bank, and we are subjected to bank dress so I have to wear business casual at minimum.

But yes, you NEED to exercise. We are here for you!! If I were closer I could be your exercise buddy, but Utah and NC are a wee bit far away from each other.
