My baby is home! :cheer2: BUT, unfortunately she has been asleep in the car for a while...so she is wound tighter than a drum now. Literally bouncing off the walls. Gonna be a long night around here! Good thing I have lots of stuff on the TIVO to keep me busy!!

Have a good night and a skinny morning! Tomorrow is my last official day teaching for the yr. We have rehearsal this Sat and the performance next week. I am gonna have to find a new way to get my exercise in now though, that was almost involuntary exercise and didnt hurt

Kat Thanks for sharing - where's the geyser picture???!! We stayed at BWV - I love the one bedrooms - the pull out bed was comfy - dd enjoyed it - but sharing that bathroom was awkward - "the window " into the master bedroom never felt secure from dd eyes!

The geyser was actually being refurbished! So all the pic would have been was an empty hole. The nice thing about the VWL was all the doors... the shower area and toilet area all had their own doors. We didn't use the tub.

I don't get it - do you mean the astericks by the name of your favorite tv show? You didn't put them there? Why would that be censored and how? Does a moderator actually read all of these posts?

No, it is a key word filter. If it sees "questionable" words then it will automatically * them. I do think this board is rather heavily moderated though, so even if you put spaces in between the letters you might get a PM.

Hello, all. Just found this thread and I could really use some company while I once again hit the diet/exercise and healthy lifestyle road. A couple of years ago I went on Southbeach and lost 56 pounds. It went really well until "after" vacation. All went well on vacation - so many healthy choices for salads and veggies and good carbs and lean meats! But, when we got back, I allowed myself to start compromising on things since there weren't quite the choices here as there were there. Then we moved and lived in an apartment for 6 months with most of our stuff in storage - fast food on a regular basis. Well, I gained back most of what I lost and we've since settled in at our new house and I'm beachin' again and just started a walking regimen on Monday (1 1/2 - 2 miles/day). I've lost 20 pounds since I started SB again, but need to lose about 50 to really feel healthier (I never did get quite down to my goal the first time).

We're going to WDW at the end of August and I want to not only be back into my smaller, cuter clothes, but I want to feel better while there instead of being out of breath the whole time like I was in my heaviest days.

I figure maybe some accountability and support couldn't hurt.

Thanks for reading, everyone! Any advice for maintaining control from anyone on Southbeach? I know what to expect from it, but am having a harder time going back on it strictly, I guess because I know what I have to give up.

C'est la vie....

Welcome Lisa!! It definitely helps to have accountability. I do strict calorie counting and not SouthBeach, so I can't help you there. I do like the lunch wraps though!

My totals for today:
B: Nothing
L: Spicy chicken... DH took 3 chicken breasts, peppers, onions, bok choy, mushrooms, szechuan sauce, 1 tbsp olive oil., and crushed chilis and stir-fried them. Estimate about 400 cals per serving (300 in chicken, 100 in EVOO and veggies).
S: 2 pickles (10) and a WW ice cream cone (140)
D: Shepherd's pie*, 350 (recipe below)
S: 12 oz Moosehead (~150)
Total for the day: ~1050

*Shepherd's Pie Recipe: Fry up 96/4 hamburger(560) and one small onion. Take an ovenproof bowl and mix hamburger/onion mixture and one can beef gravy (125) on bottom. Layer one can corn (210), and then make 6 servings of Idaho Potato Flakes (480) using all water and some parkay spray, and spread it on top. Bake at 350 for about 15 min, sprinkling a bit of cheese (25) on top for the last 5. I use 2% sharp cheddar. Total calories, 1400. Makes 4 servings, 350 each.

Hope everyone had a great day and I will cross fingers for a good weigh-in tomorrow for all!

Hello, Peeps! I'm checking in briefly because I'm about 10 pages behind :scared: So I thought I'd post on a couple things.

Eventer, so sorry to hear about your Grandma  Hope things go well for your hubby as he moves on to a new chapter in his life. You sure have had a lot of life changes recently.

I downloaded my pics from the camera today. My AKLV ones came out only allright, but I will send you a link to them once I get them up on the website. I have a ton of VWL ones as well, of the one-bedroom where we stayed, if anyone is interested? I will put a few in my trip report if/when it ever gets finished.

After my 2-week binge of badness... I have a question for the lady Peeps. Do you hurt when you eat bad? I ache all over when I go on these bad binges. Even my "girls" seem to ache and feel big and weird. I have put on a lot of weight there as well as everywhere else, and all the walking at WDW may have contributed to that (jiggle, jiggle...)
HKat, I'd love to see your DVC pics. If you've already posted them, maybe I'll find them when I catch up or you can point me in the right direction.

I have been off the wagon recently and not exercising and I have been feeling achy and water retention-y. And I can't seem to get myself back on track

I went for an MRI and got pinched inside. They had to stop the test. I have to go to a different center where they have bigger machines.
I had the same fear, snowwite. Fortunately, they took one look at me and sent me to the place with the open MRI. I was VERY grateful not to have to have a claustrophobic situation too. I still worry every time I have to get on a plane or try to fit in a new ride. I'm going to try to ride Expedition Everest in September. I sat in the demo car and decided to take a pass in January.

Sandy, hope your ankle is feeling better.

Hooray to everyone whose school is out :teacher:

Glad you're hanging in there with those early mornings, Christine!

THey must have certain words that are automatically filtered out ...think the actor who played Bert in Mary Poppins. The last part of his name could apparently be used as a slur against gay woman. I would never have thought of that! I typed in his name and the **** appeared in its place!:scared1:

I did a good job today, no cheating. I planned in a bowl of Dreyers Grand Light Brownie Fudge, so it wasn't so hard to pass up the candy. Tomorrow will be harder because it is chaotic, but at least I can say no candy. Alright, I'm saying it. Hold me to it.

-2 this week Which is amazing, considering that I haven't been completely on the wagon this week -- many reasons for this, none that I will get into today. Happy weigh day to all! Wishing you skinny thoughts!

Lost 1 pd

It's not that exciting to me though b/c it's the pd I gained with AF last week. Grr. I put on shorts today for work. You guys know I hate shorts. I feel so bloated and fat in them. My capris are dirty though. I have longer shorts but they are super stiff and drive me nuts. I just need some shorts that fit but I don't want to spend the money. Dilemmas, dilemmas.

Have a great day everyone!! :goodvibes

I am UP 2 more lbs.
I am slowly creeping toward the weight I started with.My shorts are too tight and I feel like such a failure.:sad1:

On a happy note, today is the last day of school and my kids have met their goals.Rebekah made all A's,Peyton made A's and B's,and Tyler is getting the Presidential award.Only four students in the fifth grade are receiving this award and we are very proud of him.I can't believe he is going into middle school.

This is the first time I have had to work during the summer.I have had a babysitter lined up for months and she just told me she can't do it.:scared:  :headache: I am in a panic......Anybody want a 9 and 8 yr old for a couple of weeks?I have two weeks and a few days here and there I haven't figured out yet.:confused3

Happy Weigh in day everyone!! Hopefully I will help with numbers next week.:upsidedow

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome! I actually broke my plateau this morning and lost 2 1/2 pounds since Monday!!! I've been stuck for about 8-9 weeks and was really getting depressed about it. Unfortunately, it also confirmed that diet alone isn't enough for me, it's that danged exercise!!! SHEESH!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Guess I really do have to do it.:scared:

The scale moved in the right direction, that's all that matters. :cloud9:

Healthy Lifestyles, everyone!:cheer2:

Thanks so much, I live in Fisherville (between Louisville & Shelbyville). We were just in Lexington last week on a family outing. We've gotta get out that way more often, it's just gorgeous! Also, congrats on reaching your goal, I've never been able to count calories without obsessing like mad and driving my whole family nuts! I'm inspired that it worked for you and will check out caloriequeens, too!

I've got to get a healthy breakfast this morning, I've got 20+ teens/pre-teens coming over today for a game day we host every 2 weeks. With all the chips, cookies, etc. that everyone brings, I really have to be healthy-fueled before they get here so I'm not tempted to cheat!

EVERYONE:

Have a fun and safe holiday weekend! Don't forget to set it up ahead of time if you need a DD (designated driver) after a party, or grab a cab! Gotta get everyone home safe!

Glad she is home safe!! I bet you are missing the quiet right about now though. ;)
HA! You know it! Actually, once we got her in the bath she settled down. I think she was so happy to see her own bed again, she passed out!

Wear those shorts proudly! We are our own worst critic and I am sure they are fine!! And, I got an email Old Navy is having a sale this weekend. (I am sure most places are.) They are usually good for affordable stuff.

I am UP 2 more lbs.

:grouphug: You are not a failure. You are here, and you are trying. That is a big accomplishment in itself. You care about that number moving and arent just sitting back saying ":the heck with it, I may as well just eat!", right?! Take it one day at a time....
