I just posted Day 6 of last summer's vaca on my TR...it was a rather unique day, if anyone is interested. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1198005

We are going to Cape COd early. We were leaving Saturday, but the friend who owns the house called to let me know that it is empty tomorrow and Friday, so said we can go early free of charge. I'm going up with DD(11) and DD(13) tomorrow morning. DH and DD(15) will drive up early Saturday morning becuase they both have to work Thursday and Friday. I won't be here for wweigh in this week or next, but I weighed myself this morning. I get to keep my bling, but I am up a couple of pounds since before my WDW vaca.

GOOD MORNING, EVERYONE! :sunny:

BAD NEWS: I go back to work today!

GOOD NEWS: It's Thursday already! :yay:

I spent yesterday painting our tiny hallway. It's not big but 6 doors to trim around AND I went from antique ruby to butter cream...3 coats. Hope everyone else did something fun! It's was cloudy/yucky here.

Fidge.... I know you will miss your sweet kitty. Sounds like she was a good and loving girl. Prayers for her and for you.

Punkin...Cute pictures! Ray has all the toys my DS wants! Everytime we go to the video store he says...When can we get a Wii? And that light saber...fancy/new! Ours doesn't look real like that one.

Pixie.....Another vacation!?!? Lucky duck! We have some good friends who left for the cape yesterday. Have a great time and TELL NSALZ HAPPY BIRTHDAY FOR US!

MA...Great job on the weigh in! .8 is nuthin! You'll get that off this week!

SHANNON...How did Phoebe do with the fireworks? One advantage to our dog being deaf is that she doesn't hear the fireworks anymore.

LYNDA
....I'm not optimistic about January with the September trip coming up. Sorry!

EVERYBODY ELSE..... :wave2:

HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY!

Happy Birthday Nsalz!!(pass it on Pixie!!) :cool1: May it be a magical day! :wizard:

Melinda I thought I could post before you!! :rotfl2: No work here, no painting either...

Fidgey :grouphug: at the loss of your beloved friend! May you find comfort in the Rainbow Bridge !

Punkin Thanks for the pix - you have such a fun spirit that shines thru on those pictures!! hope your friend, Erin joins the craziness! (what is she waiting for?? *grin)

Shannon (I was thinking of Phoebe too!) I enjoy reading your saga! Its kinda nice having somewhere to "blog" about!!

Pixie I spend too much time online - and another tempting trip report (I do try and avoid that area - it sucks me in ALL the time!!) Have fun in the Cape (I've always wanted to go there!)

Nothing exciting here.......

Good Morning Peepers!!

Im at school and think of all you ladies so i decided to take a little sneaky break and say hello.....

I just got back from Phoenix and I think the heat made me loss some weight. It was like 111 out there.

In other news, we have only like 76 more days to Peep Meet so I will be checking in with those doing the fireworks cruise and the Ohana ressies making sure we are all on the same page. I will also be double checkin on the shirt sizes.

Remember too ladies Group Photo is set for 4:15ish at the POLY on Sept. 23 the night of Ohana's

and then we can set the second Photo Op for KONA'S too!!

Ok gotta get back to doing my school works!!:grouphug:

Good Morning all! I have to admit I haven't been back for a day and fell completely behind! Yeowza! I will read our latest 2 or 3 pages soon.... maybe later! I am suuuuuper tired! Last night I just couldn't sleep!
I was up late DISing on my Pre Trippie :surfweb:
Then all that talk about the Goonies made me want to watch so I popped in the DVD before sleep :happytv:
That being said, I am super tired and cranky on the tail end of a bad eating streak. I am way too worn out to hit the gym when I get out at 5:30 tonight! I promised myself I would more than just get back on track for today and tomorrow so that hopefully making up for the bad eating AND my Monday Soccer game could still bring me out negative on the scale. :rolleyes1
Hope everyone else is having a better and more energetic morning than I am! But this Sunday marks the 2 weeks until vacation mark! I caaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnn't wait until I am relaxing in a hammock at Caribbean Beach! Or riding Peter Pan at Magic Kingdom! Or traveling around the world in Epcot! Or watching a Jammin Parade at Animal Kingdom! Or entering Mickey's dreams at Fantasmic! I am sooooooooooooooooooooooooo pysched! Come visit my Pre-Trippie if you have time! LoL! There are lots of pictures- I even took pics when we got back from picking up toiletries at Eckerd! haha! :rotfl:

Morning Peeps! Second to last day of work for me this summer!!! Although when I look at the checkbook I am not reassured about it!

I hope everyone has a great day!!! :wizard:

Hope you ( are having) a great time in ole' cape cod..i will be there Saturday myself :)

Good morning everyone!! its rainy and cloudy today here in MA..ah well, gotta work anyway!

Fidge, i meant to say  yesterday when i read the news of your cat. Pets are family, i don't care what anyone says!

Punkin---love the pics. it looks like you had a great time! Our big firework show in town is next saturday..fireworks are "illegal" in this state so no one can have their own shows like that..well not legally anyway! :rolleyes1

Morning Peeps! I must catch-up on what everyone has been up to...
The pup is doing better -- countless upchucks, $200, 2 x-rays, and three meds later, she seems to have settled down. She is on two different kinds of meds to settle her stomach and an antibiotic just in case she has a bacterial infection. I'm also making her boiled chicken and rice to eat (good for me too). WHat I don't do for this dog.

Fireworks

Love them, think they are beautiful. Go to see them every year. Also think they are best left to the professionals, especially when kids are involved. However if people are going to set them off themselves, use some common sense!!

<<rant coming -- please no one take offense, just need to VENT>>

Oooooh my neighbors don't want to see me today! I won't be responsible for my words!!! I am one grumpy woman -- we had an "unauthorized" fireworks display on our street that went on FOREVER last night. Not only do they flip the dog out, but the ones that go off the ground are illegal in this state (enforcement of that law is a whole different topic).

Now, I don't see the lure of playing with fire and have no pyromanical tendancies whatsoever, but I do understand that there are those out there that enjoy these things. However, a TOWNHOUSE community with very little open space is NOT the place to set off fireworks. I found charred bits of paper all over my front yard this morning (I hate to think about what landed on my roof). Go to an open field or parking lot. Find a friend with a lake/large pond to shoot them over. Buy a house on tons of acres and risk your own property.

Thank goodness it rained last night! :)

<< rant over and I digress >>

Flowers and sunshine to you all!:hippie:

Amanda came up behind me while I was looking at them and asked me who the people were. I told her some of my friends. She then said she wants to meet you all :goodvibes Good thing you are coming in Sept! Otherwise she may think I was making you all up :rotfl:

awwwwww.......that's so sweet! how cute! :goodvibes

Punkin...Cute pictures! Ray has all the toys my DS wants! Everytime we go to the video store he says...When can we get a Wii? And that light saber...fancy/new! Ours doesn't look real like that one.

us getting a wii is my fault. i wanted to get him one in return for being so good to me about going to WDW in september. so i went looking for one to surprise him with and couldn't find one in the entire state of georgia! or tennessee!!! i didn't realize they were so hard to find. anyway, he knew i was disappointed about something and when i finally told him what my surprise was supposed to be, he went to work on finding one. i guess he took that as "it's okay to spend $250 on a game system" and he went with it! we have a friend who works at best buy and she called to tell him when they had one come in. and as far as the light saber goes, i got that on QVC for like $125. it's really neat though! everybody - kids and adults - loves that thing!

hope your friend, Erin joins the craziness! (what is she waiting for?? *grin)

well, she sounded interested in our little peep group here, but she doesn't get on the internet as much as i do because she lives with her grandparents (helping her grandmother take care of her grandfather) and they don't have a connection out there. so she only gets online at work or if she's somewhere with wifi. that's what's taking her so long. i keep mentioning it to her, though! and she did mention that her health insurance kicks in very soon and when it does she's going to get a nutrionist to help her. so maybe when that happens she'll have some motivation to join our little group!

Remember too ladies Group Photo is set for 4:15ish at the POLY on Sept. 23 the night of Ohana's

can't wait!!!!!!!

you make it sound even more fun!!!!!! i'm actually excited FOR you!!!!! :yay:

Punkin---love the pics. it looks like you had a great time! Our big firework show in town is next saturday..fireworks are "illegal" in this state so no one can have their own shows like that..well not legally anyway! :rolleyes1

they legalized them in our area back in 2005, so for the last 3 years our neighbors go all out. they usually spend around $1500...:scared1: but it's nice to be able to sit in your front yard and watch a decent fireworks show rather than having to go fight a crowd somewhere!

that's so sweet....what you're doing for your doggie! brings a little tear to my eye! :goodvibes

as far as the fireworks go, i agree with you about doing it without your neighbors' permission. our neighbors that put on the huge show tuesday night asked everyone around them if it was okay (because they knew we'd all find fireworks debris in our yards) and they also called the police to doublecheck and make sure it was okay. so they handled it the right way. my puppies get really freaked out by the fireworks, too. we took their cages in our bedroom, shut the door and turned the TV on in the hopes that they wouldn't be able to hear most of it. poor little guys!

Sorry about the rant. Sounds like your neighbors did the responsible thing (and from your pictures it looked like there was ample space to set them off with fairly little chance of houses catching fire)!

$1500 :scared1: That's my entertainment budget for the year!! I totally understand wanting to have a good show and not have to go far for it. We have been so lucky the past few years. There is a kids summer camp down in the valley and up the hill across from my parents (mom and dads house is on the top of the hill over looking the valley). Each year they do a big party complete with a 20-30 minute fireworks display from the "hill" across from Mom and Dad (about 1 mile away). We have a totally unobstructed view -- sort of sky box seats. Mom usually plans a party and we have family and friends come to see the fireworks (my sister made it her graduation party this year -- her friends said "best entertainment, hands down"). I have to travel to get to their house, but it is so convenient!!

:)

Glad everyone had a great 4th! Mine was mostly spent in a hospital room... around 8PM we headed back home. We got into town at 9:30, ate BAD (blue cheese burger, fries, and a beer), relaxed a bit, and went to bed. I think I could have slept through fireworks if they were going off on my head!

 Fidge for the kitty.

Loved the pics punkin!

I am back at work today. The good news is, I weighed this morning and down 1.6 lbs from last Friday's weigh-in... considering how bad I have been off and on and no exercise this week, I am okay with that. Hopefully it holds until tomorrow.

I was just back reading and Punkin love your pics from the weekend! Great fireworks pics! I am in the process of learning how to use my digital camera properly so I can make the best of Wishes and stuff at night at WDW! DisneyFreak- any tips? :)
In any case, I ordered the pictures from my nieces baptism this morning from Snapfish- I may have shared this one already:

But its my fav and I love her facial expression!
Here is another one...
untitled-4.jpg

My grandpa and grandma (Mom's parents), Nanny (Dad's mom), My sister, Brother-in-Law, and Baby Isabelle! Oh and that me standing on the bench in the back (lol hiding my booty to let me hang on to some Godmother glory)! ;)

Hi All!

Punkin...We have the town fireworks at the park 2 blocks from my house on the weekend before the 4th. I get to watch them in my yard as well. It's quite nice not to go down and fight the crowds! Of course, we also have the carnival that goes with it, so we go earlier in the day and walk around, have fried dough, then head home. We have a good time! ;)

HockeyKat...have they found out anything with your Dad? It's so frustrating to know something is wrong, but get no diagnosis! My prayers are with you and your family.

Melinda...I'm back to work too and it feels like a Monday! Glad it's really Thursday!!

MJ Mouse...The things we do for our dogs! I've done the ground beef and rice for my dog. The chicken sounds just as easy. Hope your pup is feeling better soon!

Thanks!! It is actually my husband's father, not mine. We did find out what was wrong... a combination of a 1991 head injury, a 1972 stomach ulcer surgery, a Jan car accident and subsequent altered mental state, and a diuretic that a quack dr prescribed. The altered mental state led to him not eating and drinking too much and not realizing exactly how bad off he was. The stomach surgery makes it so he doesn't absorb nutrients well. Combined with the diuretic and a low sodium diet, it made his sodium and some other nutrient levels drop to a level that gave him seizures.

Anyhow, that was long-winded and probably TMI. :)

Hope everyone is having a great and skinny day. I am swamped with catching up on work.

Good Morning Peeps!! I hope everyone is having a great day! We went to my cousin's house for fireworks and a cookout. It was fun!

i need to go play catchup at some point tonight. been busy entertaining the past 24 hours! here's some pictures from the festivities last night......

!

I love the colors you used in your house! They are so pretty! My husband would be so envious of that lightsaber. He did the make your own light saber at Disney.:darth:

I ordered the pictures from my nieces baptism this morning from Snapfish- I may have shared this one already:

That sounds really cool! What a good idea for your sister to time her graduation party to have entertainment! :)

More time to DIS!! I hope your last day went well!

I'm glad they came up with a diagnosis for him! At least he will be on the road to recovery soon and you & DH can rest a little easier.

:grouphug: Kat

Tink - adorable pictures!! (I didnt hide good enough in our last family picture! :scared1: )

MJ - I hear that - and agree with Punkin - that was nice everyone was invited too - Here our police step up patrols, if you hear firecrackers, so do the police, its only a $500 fine, but the print your name in the paper! Kinda embarrassing - now we bought something from the grocery store - they had smokers in it - - :rotfl2: I HAD NO IDEA how much smoke - I was afraid someone would want to call the fire dept!! :faint:

Prayers please - My niece and her brand new hubby (they served in Iraq, secretly got married, and she had a miraculous pregnancy - )ANYWAY - she was discharged, but he was still active duty - and they were assigned Atlanta - well Monday he was out on his motorcycle - and got hit - on a highway! Its a career ending injury, but - he wont lose a leg - he is in the hospital, and has had several long surgeries, and is scheduled for more. I pray that he will bo ok - just so sad! (She is some kind of surgical trauma nurse, and is allowed to be by him, and help him!)

:grouphug: Kat Illness in the family can be so stressful -- especially when you don't know what is going on (and it's a holiday weekend so all the docs are away). I am so glad to hear/see/read that your FIL has been diagnosed so they can get him on the road to recovery. Good thoughts, hugs, and a wee bit of chocolate (the good for you dark kind) coming your way.

I love the colors you used in your house! They are so pretty! My husband would be so envious of that lightsaber. He did the make your own light saber at Disney.:darth:

Punkin -- I meant to mention this too... Your house is gorgeous! I especially love the brick fireplace. You have great taste!

Oh -- :lmao: -- you had me giggling and I'm at work, so I really shouldn't be giggling. I can just picture the smoke coming, pouring out and you worrying about the police and fire dept... I love it!

Oh my heart goes out to your family! We had a similar situation with a family friend who was in the military and came home whole and healthy, just to be in a freak accident two days later -- goes to show how fragile life is both abroad and at home. Prayers and happy thoughts coming your way and theirs.
