DISappearing Peeps...A fastpass to THIN! Part 3

Okay, jumping in... thanks for all the welcomes!! :goodvibes Warning, though, I am on the world's most boring conference call (in its 3rd hour), so this may be long and rambling. Oh, who am I kidding... all of my posts are long and rambling!

I was not terribly good for lunch... had snack size popcorn chicken (350 cals) and small tater tots (220 cals) from Sonic. I think we are going out to dinner tonight, since DH has a friend in town, so I imagine this is going to be an "off" night for me, sigh. As long as it doesn't start an "off" weekend, I think it will be okay.

Tomorrow I am going to spend an hour or so at a hockey practice for lunch with a co-worker who is MUCH better than me and another coworker who has only been on skates a few times. I may then head to the gym (close by) and do my quick weight circuit, but mostly because the showers at the rink are nasty.

I started skating/playing hockey 4 years ago at age 27. I had never been on hockey skates or played a sport before. That is actually how I met DH, he was on my team... back then I was thin, 145-150. We got married in '05, fat/happy, stopped playing hockey, and that is, well, why I am here. I just started playing again 2 weeks ago and it is rough going.

Pics in a bikini... doubt that anyone really wants those! I do go to the water parks at WDW, and if my shockingly white flabby body offends anyone there, well, they can not look! I wear tankinis which I think help to hide the tummy (maybe only in my delusional mind, but oh well).

I have found that it makes it a lot easier for me to stick to things if I can have small helpings of what I want, specifically fast food, and then supplement w/ a salad, fruit, veggies. My cholesterol is great (126 good, 80 bad) so I don't worry too much about fat or cholesterol content, just about calories.

I really like that LC UtahMama. I like their wee pizzas, as well.
Welcome! Lots of great people here, and i'm sure you'll feel right at "home" during (and after) your weight loss journey with the Peeps!

hello ladies!!!
Don't forget about us (mostly lurking) men, too!

Good Morning Peeps !!! I have been back to my old "lurking"habits :rolleyes1 . I have been reading and keeping up with all you wonderful people but I have not posted in a really long time.

HELLO to all our new peeps. :cheer2: Eventer I think you looked BEAUTIFUL at your wedding...Congratulations, I too had some "inlaw issues" when we were getting married (ended up eloping), But now I LOVE my Mother-in-law, She is super supportive of everything I do and I am truly greatful for her help and love. Think of it this way..."they can't be all back if they raised such a great son right ???" :confused3

BIG NEWS... I am down -1 pound ..bringing me to my goal of 14 pounds :cheer2: WHOOHOOTY ! I have been wanted to lose this weight for 5 years and I KNOW that I was successful because of all you wonderful peeps ! THANK YOU !!!!

We leave for Disney in 15 Days :cool1: I am really excited.

Hope everyone has a super day and keep drinking that water. :flower3:
Congratulations on reaching your goal! You are an inspiration for the rest of us trying to do the same.

Happy Birthday Fran!

i can't remember who it is that suggests the warm water and lemon juice to "flush" out your system, but i just tried it and ...... ewwwwwwwww!!!!!!! that's disgusting! i'm still drinking it though. how much of this stuff is required for results? blah!!!! :crazy2:

:rotfl: It was a tip from another weight loss program - they suggest an 6-8oz coffee mug - very warm water - and 1/2 lemon - real lemon works better than concentrate - but I use concentrate from time to time!

I need a swift kick in the rear. or my head... its my mind that is slowing me down... bad problems in real life, sorrow for Virg Tech and I'm starving.

Bee how'd the liquid diet go?

Part of me feels desperate - part of me feels like "what's the point, I'm always going to be this fat girl - so learn to love her" and I do love me... mostly...

Goals water, vitamins, situps and 1 mile run. No chocolate today.

I am happy to report that after gaining 1.5 pounds last week, I lost 6.5 pounds this week! This brings me to a grand total of 24 pounds lost since the beginning of the year, and 48 pounds lost since April 2005 in about 8 1/2 non-consecutive months.

I got a new scale this week, and it is two pounds kinder than my old scale. So I split the difference and added one pound to this week's weight to try to smooth out the difference. So technically my weight was 7.5 pounds lower than last week, but this will give me a head start on losing again next week.

Not sure what I did this week to give me such a large loss. I can only think that maybe my 1.5 pound gain last week was aided by water retention or other factors outside of my diet. Or maybe it was that I was on my feet all week packing and moving boxes to my parents' basement. But I'll take it either way.

The other great thing is that I get new bling! I can add the 20 pounder this week, and hopefully I'll be seeing the 25 pounder already next week.

Good luck to everyone else this week!

Yesterday it was -3.8, today it's -2.4 pounds. I'll take it! YAY! My goal was -1 to -1.8 per week to achieve my Sept. goal. I feel like a rock star!

Well, I mentioned it in teeny font last night. What if we did a 20 pound challenge for September?? Starting TODAY ((those of you that think friday after weigh in is "free"!!! :rolleyes1 )). Any ideas for a prize??? Any thoughts or suggestions?

Happy Weigh Day everyone!!!!

Happy Birthday Fran!!!!!!

Fly by post to weigh in here! Following last week's BIG number, I was a little bit nervous about what would happen today. BUT I lost another 3 lbs! So, now I'm at 211.6, for a total loss of 38.4 lbs! :woohoo: I'm a happy girl! I am only 1.6 lbs. from my next ribbon and only 11.6 lbs from getting under 200! I can taste it now!

I have a LOT of catching up to do today!!! I'm not sure how well I'll do though. It could be a busy day. And when I get home, DH and I are moving the new king mattress into our bedroom, as well as moving our bed into the guest room and moving the twin trundle bed that's in there now out to the garage. So, that will be my work out tonight, I think! I will try to get caught up though. In the meantime, to anyone in need, or to everyone for that matter, and :welcome: to any newbies! :)

I stayed the same, yet again!:confused3

She pased away while he was in the car with her. She was such a sweet bunny and I'm missing her terribly right now. The Dr said he thinks it was a neuro event, such as a stroke. DH said she was very calm and acting normal when he put her in the car so I don't think she was in pain and she passed quickly.

.....

I'm so sorry about your bunny!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY FRAN!

Happy Birthday Fran!

Happy Birthday Fran!!!!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY FRAN !!!!!:dance3:

Thanks everyone! It's shaping up to be a pretty good day & prehaps an even better night. :cloud9: Some of my family is having a birthday bash for me at the local bowling alley but it's a secret and I'm not supposed to know about it. ;) I'll just have to act surprised! :thumbsup2

Hehe... not sure where I picked that term up from. Anyhow, it fits... I fight every day to not gain weight, and always have. After marriage, I lost the battle bigtime.

I introduced myself in the 150 club as well... but briefly, I am 31, height 5'8", weight 198, want to weigh between 150 and 160.

I do a calorie restrictive diet, between 1200-1500, and when I stay on it it works great. Life gets in my way a lot. I go to the gym 2-3 times a week, and play on an ice hockey league once a week, and am going to try and fit in a practice once a week as well.

Oh yeah, and I take that mega-T green tea stuff w/ hoodia. Not sure it makes a diff but it does seem to help w/ energy and it has added calcium, so I guess it can't hurt!

:welcome:

Drum roll please, my loss from the last two weeks is: 3.5 lbs!! I no longer have a 7 as the second digit in my weight!! I have lost 13.5 lb since starting the Peeps and WISH. I am so happy to have you ladies (and a guy or two) who have helped me along and shown me that I can do it, and I have to do it for me and no one else.

So I lost 1 pd. this week..well actually 2 weeks since I didn't weigh in last Friday. I was hoping for 2 or 3 but I'll take it...esp. since I didn't eat very well in the days leading up to and after the wedding. Plus, I haven't been walking. I'm hoping to start this weekend since it will be close to 70 degrees Sunday!!!! Have a grat Friday everyone!! :goodvibes :goodvibes

BIG NEWS... I am down -1 pound ..bringing me to my goal of 14 pounds :cheer2: WHOOHOOTY ! I have been wanted to lose this weight for 5 years and I KNOW that I was successful because of all you wonderful peeps ! THANK YOU !!!!

i'm down 3 pounds today!

Drum roll please....I am -5 this week. So I'm back down to my pre-vaca weight and my 20 lb bling is back! Now I have to work hard for the next 10 lbs. I think at 30 lbs, we get gold bling!:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Good luck everybody!

So sorry about the bunny (and the kitty, missed that post). I have yet to go through the loss of a pet, and hopefully won't anytime soon as our meow-baby is 6.

I am still learning the rules here... Friday is weigh-in day? I didn't this AM, too afraid after the pizza, wings, and beer from last night. BAD me. Also, does the "lb loss" bling count if you lost the weight before joining? Or do I start counting from this week?

I am currently drinking my water, and planning on heading over to the rink in a half hour or so. Bfast was coffee w/ skim milk and sweet n low. Lunch is a salad, banquet sliced beef meal (230 cals), and a yogurt (60 cals). I had a reduced fat toaster scramble (150 cals) for bfast that I didn't eat, so I might eat it later as a snack. Dinner is likely an artichoke and a rolled fish frozen thingy that I got at wal-mart... $1 for tilapia stuffed w/ spinach and cheese, and only 110 cals.

Thanks for all the welcomes, congrats to everyone who lost, and happy b-day Fran!

Geez, you guys! You all are the incredible shrinking women and man! I bet there's going to be lots of new ribbons next week! I WANT my 10 pounder BAD(ly)!!!

Kat- GET ON THE SCALE! This first week is the best for you to have had a huge meal last night...next week you'll show a loss for sure!

You dont tell us the actual weight, just the amount lost (in bold).

It was a good week... down 8.2 lbs. :dance3:

Dene- LOVE your new bling! if you start doing Pilates will you still need Jay? :lmao:

Might we have pictures coming this weekend???

I've been to Pilates... I must be doing something wrong 'cuz it ain't that fun :rotfl: Besides, Jay is MUCH cuter than the Pilates instructor :rotfl2:

Not sure when on the pics... depends on when he thinks he's ripped enough. I have a new camera phone... might have to sneak a shot. :lmao:

I will get motivated, I will be skinny. I will do this

YES, YOU WILL!!!!!!!

I hate going to bed after we lose a pet and I don't sleep well

Sorry you lost your bunny... congrats on the weight loss though...

:bday:party: HAPPY BIRTHDAY FRAN!!! :cake:

one pound and i'll have my 15-pound bling. maybe in a few days!

:yay: Go for it!

Awwww, I love naps. Even though it was just a power nap, 30 mins. before one of the buddies woke up. I should still be able to sleep tonight. One way or another. I'm drinking water like crazy, my last ditch attempt at moving the pounds. Goodness knows I gave it some pretty good effort this week.

There's some good TV on tonight, right?

Tonight, if y'all watch tv, why not as a GROUP, do 10 sit ups every commercial break??? Or 10 whatevers? (as long as it's MOVING). If there's 10 commercial breaks, you'll get in 100 reps of whatever.

ALSO- Tomorrow is the GREAT 20 pound Challenge for September!!!!!

I JUST thunk of that out of the clear blue...ANY one interested??? How about SPECIAL prizes if you lose 20 pounds starting tomorrow ending at the meet. :cool2:

OK, I missed the sit up challenge last night, but I did do 47 minutes on the exercise bike. It was an intense 47 minutes too! ;) And I WILL take the 20-lb challenge for September! I think my next mini goal for then will be 20-25 lbs, so that's perfect! I will be counting from after my May trip for that goal too.

did anyone else see the john mayer/jessica simpson skit on SNL last saturday? we were getting ready for bed when it was on and DH came running out of the bathroom b/c i was laying in bed laughing so hard (specifically after jessica's singing) that he thought something was wrong with me.......like screaming-banchee-laughing!!!!!!!!!! :lmao: funniest stuff i've seen in a long time.

i'm posting the link below in case you missed it:

I missed it, but I am bumping it up here so I can check it out when I get home later. :thumbsup2

Hi Peeps, I have some sad news and have to report that stress in my life lead me to make some poor food choices after a no cheat week.

DH called me at work today to report that one of our bunnies wasn't acting right and he thought she may have gone blind. I told him to bring her to the hospital right away. She pased away while he was in the car with her. She was such a sweet bunny and I'm missing her terribly right now. The Dr said he thinks it was a neuro event, such as a stroke. DH said she was very calm and acting normal when he put her in the car so I don't think she was in pain and she passed quickly.

We were very upset and shocked and DH wanted comfort food. We wound up at Skyline Chili and I ordered a large spaghetti with chili and tons of cheese. It had to be more than my entire days alotment of points. It wasn't that I didn't care, I wasn't even super hungry when we sat down but I needed to veg and let my heart and mind implode.

It's after midnight so I'm going to post my weight progress, I figure I'll just use my weight from Thurs am since for some stupid reason it's usually better than Fri am. (Tonight's heartbreak and binge aside, I don't weigh well of Fri mornings......) Drum roll please, my loss from the last two weeks is: 3.5 lbs!! I no longer have a 7 as the second digit in my weight!! I have lost 13.5 lb since starting the Peeps and WISH. I am so happy to have you ladies (and a guy or two) who have helped me along and shown me that I can do it, and I have to do it for me and no one else.

I could stay up all night, I hate going to bed after we lose a pet and I don't sleep well, but I have to go to work early tomorrow.....

 I'm so sorry to hear that!

OK...I need to get ready for work. Lots going on here and I am feeling like I am drowning, so I am NOT weighing in today. I don't think my mental state could handle it. I am trying to pull myself up and get out of this funk. Pixie dust & prayers would be appreciated. Thanks! :hippie:

 for you too! Hope things improve super soon for you!

Happy Birthday Fran!!!
:cool1: :wizard: :woohoo: :yay: :dance3: :cheer2: :grouphug:

Dene???? WOW!!!!! Do you have a tape worm?

I cant BELIEVE how successful you are! Are you a dude? Did you have surgery? You ARE a rock star!!!!!!!! Whatever you're doing, it's working!

OK wendy, you are in my head!! I dont know what you sound like, but I keep hearing your voice - it started with the sit up challenge... and the water challenge... and now this!!

Can I do it? Will I do it???

Dene, Lynda, Wendy - y'all have such wonderful spirits, and determinations - you post, slowly and surely you do it... and stick with it...

Wendy - you have the btdt - and I can do it again, watch me attitude...

I on the other hand fight my self doubt, negative head talk... and up and down... and whine, whine whine.. excuse, excuse excuse...

I"M TIRED OF ME!!

so I thank all of you peeps for putting up with me.

I hear ya! I am the same way. Each week I have been doing fairly well. This week, nothing, no gain no loss...so truthfully I should be happy enough that I didnt gain and make smart choices this week. But instead I am beating myself up over no loss, excuses...blah, blah, blah. I need to find a way to shake that doubting voice in my head!
