Ok, new contacts are IN, with MUCH cussing (PG words, but at least 4 started with an F). They "feel" fine, but my left eye is blurry. I hope I didn't get it inside out. You can FEEL when it's inside out, cant you? Mine feel comfy (thank goodness). I would instinctively blink like crazy when I was going in, but after like 30 mins. I am ok. (ahhhhhh)

Now, I have HOURS till I have to fret about taking them out.

If it was inside out, when you blink it would move around and make you crazy. I have had the blurry thing happen and I it usually after I have been messing with it for a second and it gets a fingerprint on it. Not that you are going to try this....but you could take it out, rinse it and put it back in. Or try putting a few eye drops in.

All this reminiscing is a little bittersweet. Hopefully, I will get to talk to my best friend tonight. She's pretty much the only person I still keep in touch with from high school, and she knew this guy I ran into and that situation. I will also try to post the diary snippet tonight. I am just amazed at how much I have learned since those days, and I know I have a lot more to learn. I DO just have this feeling this time about the weight loss - I KNOW I can do this and keep it off this time!​

I go at it with my fingertip - kind of like you would do a fingerprint. But I have it down to such a science now that I barely touch my contact, and it pops off onto my finger. You probably got a fingerprint on the lens putting it in. Rinsing it would probably take care of it, though I doubt you want to do that. Blinking a lot and maybe a drop would likely help too.

I have been wearing contacts for more than 15 yrs. A tip for ya! I NEVER look at my finger as I am putting them in. I actually look to the side, put it in, and when I move my eye back to center they center themselves. They really do....trust me. It really freaks me out to seemyself touching my eye! Same thing when I take them out, look to the side, grab it and take it out. With some practice you will get it. And I did the 30 day lenses too. Those were great for me for a while, then my eyes needed a break. So now I have 7 day ones.


Amanda got up 3 times last night. Ugh. 11,4,and 5. No reason, she was just up. I am exhausted today!!!! And I am sure by this afternoon she will be a complete joy too.

Sorry I missed your wishes this morning. I don't ever want someone to feel left out.

I hope that you and Amanda can get a nap this afternoon.

Congrats on getting the contacts in! I don't know how you could do it with long fingernails.

Now how many fingers am I holding up? Look harder, can't you see ? (j/k) Hope you get more comfortable with them. I have thought about getting them ever since DS got them in November. Just don't know if I could do it.

I haven't been on much the last week because I've been getting ready for a big thing at church tonight that I'm in charge of. It started out as a very small program for the youth and their parents and now with the help of my techno geek dh, it's a huge production!! But I do love my geek! All I asked for was the mission impossible theme music and a few pictures in a powerpoint and a spot light. Now I have a huge light set up along with video and surround sound. It should be really cool. I've really been stressed about getting it ready, so I'm trying to relax before I have to go set everything up. Oh and I'm also the "starring" role!

Thank you for the birthday wishes! Don't you love it when your small program "mushrooms"? That happens to us at preschool all the time. We come up with an idea, and then we go "wait what if we did this?!" Before we know it, it is much bigger than when we started. I hope your program goes well. I know how stressful they can be.

What do you guys do for breakfasts? I hate the receipes in the south beach stage 1 so I usually end up just drinking a ton of water and then I do salads the rest of the day. With salmon or other things with them.

No idea what's on the SBD phase 1 for breakfast, but...

Breakfast is important in getting your metabolism going! Eat a protein bar, or make a protein shake (protein powder, frozen berries or frozen banana , and some milk, you're good to go!), Egg beaters (add some spices and veggies for some flair), turkey bacon. I go for oatmeal with Benefiber in it every morning.

Yesterday while at the Dr. I asked about travel and he just looked at me and said, "No matter what I say you will still go to Disney. When are you going?" I never mentioned when I asked where I was going. I really wanted to know to make sure that my beach trip was ok in July. My DH friend asked if it was a boy if we were going to name him WALT. I considered it, but it was vetoed very quickly.

Ha! DH and I love the name Walter..it was my gpa's name. But we know people will think we named him after Walt Disney so we decided it's a no-go!

Did you know UM that I can take my contacts out while on my horse and put them back in? They get a ton of hair in them this time of the year b/c the horses are shedding. My best riding pal works in an eye docter's office and is always yelling at me for it!
