Ok, Dan bought me a cat Christmas of 1991. He was a short haired siamese.
He has been going down hill. He has always been a scaredy cat.. truly a scaredy cat. When Dan brought him home to me he was s little.. just a kitten. He has always been my cat.

Well, tongiht he waited for me to come home and Tori was holding him when he breathed his last breath.

We pet him for almost another hour. Then we sealed tha box and dug a hole. Our neighbor was kind enough to dig most of the hole herself. Tori and I stood there and mourned the loss of our beloved pet.

Last night I knew the time was drawing near and I laid him next to me in bed. He purred while I pet him.. Today, he has moved on to wait for us.

This house is so sad. he will be missed.

here is to you my fine friend Buddy.

I love you and I will miss you.
Bee..I am so sorry!! I lost a cat and a dog last year (the one in my sig) and it was heartbreaking. There is another great book called Dog Heaven by Cynthia Rylant. I think she wrote Cat Heaven too. They are both great. It's nice to believe that all our animals are up in Heaven waiting for us....I even tend to think that they are living together in a little country cottage with my mom just waiting for me.

can i just say THANK ALL THAT'S GOOD AND HOLY that sanjaya is gone!!!!!!!!!!!!!! what a freakin relief! DH couldn't even watch his closing credits performance....he muted it and turned up the new timbaland CD he was playing from his laptop!

I had gotten to the point I didn't think it was going to happen. Watch someone give him a record deal.

 Pets are most definitely members of the family! SO sorry for your loss!

BEE-

:grouphug: We lost our 2 family pets last year within months of each other- 2 cats and they were close to 18yrs old! I know how mucy they can be a part of your family and the emptiness they can leave behind. I findit so touching that Buddy waited for you guys to be there to pass on.

BEEEE!!!! So sorry!!!! I hope this helps!

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

I have never seen that before, I am crying now...that is beautiful.

I am applying for a job and I am scared to death about it...but its a good move for me and really the only 'up' move in my department...but I dont want to get my hopes up cause MrBoss mighta appointed the position if he felt someone in our office was qualified, but instead is taking outside applications...so I dont know if I have a snowballs chance, but am gonna try...
:wizard: Pixie dust coming your way!

OK, I was about to get mad because I am DVRing and havent watched it yet...I cant stand commercials and refuse to watch tv live anymore. Anyways, I was going to be mad you spoiled it until I saw he was gone! Thank god America realized the joke is over. Or the producers did ;)

G-night everyone. My cold medicine is kicking in and I am exhausted from last night. Pray for me peeps that Amanda decides to sleep all night tonight! Even as a newborn she never was a baby who woke much through the night, so I really get thrown off when she wakes up in the middle of the night. Mama needs her beauty rest!

Somehow I lost some of the things I had multi-quoted :confused3

Thank you so much! I love that picture with the dog.

Funny story, last year on my birthday, my DH gathered the kids upstairs to get my gift together. I was trying to stay out of the way, so I was on the computer. I noticed that I heard my dog's (Shadow) tags jingling. I knew they had put my cookie cake on the table, so I decided to go investigate. Well, by the time I got in there, she had eaten about a fourth of my cake! :scared1: She has a strong nose, and is tall enough to reach the table if she raises up on her back legs. Well, what did I do? After yelling at her, I did what any respecting, non dieting (at the time) person would do. I cut off all the parts that she had eaten, and we celebrated with what was left. :rotfl: :rotfl2: It is so funny when that picture pops up on my screen saver. The picture is me with a cake that is missing half of my name! :rotfl:
Hee, hee - GREAT birthday story, Allie! Glad you liked the dog pic!

use the side of your finger and look up when you try to put your 'tacts in and take them out...I did this from the time I was in 5th grade to 3 yrs ago...I had Lasik Surgery, it is the very best money I have ever spent. I was very BLIND and couldnt sleep in contacts, so on the nights when DH was at station, I was always scared something would happen in the middle of the night and I wouldnt be able to see well enuff to get my hildren to safety. Lasik is the best and I would do it againin a heartbeat.
I can totally relate to your comments, Harley!!! Lasik is THE BEST! I do have to wear glasses for driving now, but get by most of the day without correction.

Good luck with getting the new job. I agree with Bee - a lot of places do have to post jobs outside.

Bee, so sorry to hear about your pet  Pets are such an important part of many of our lives.

Jo - Congrats on your new tags! Is there some special meaning behind the scrolling one?

has anyone read the book "the lovely bones" by alice sebold? it's a book about a 14-year-old girl that gets brutally murdered and it's told by her looking down from heaven at the aftermath of her death. the entire book is sad (but really good), but the only part that made me cry was when her dog meets her in heaven. obviously these names don't mean anything to you unless you've read the book, but you get the point:

at evensong [the girl's heaven] one night, while holly played her sax and mrs. bethel utemeyer joined in, i saw him: holiday, racing past a fluffy white samoyed. he had lived to a ripe old age on earth and slept at my father's feet after my mother left, never wanting to let him out of his sight. he had stood with buckley while he built his fort and had been the only one permitted on the porch while lindsey and samuel kissed. and in the last few years of his life, every sunday morning, grandma lynn had made him a skillet-sized peanut butter pancake, which she would place flat on the floor, never tiring of watching him try to pick it up with his snout. i waited for him to sniff me out, anxious to know if here, on the other side, i would still be the little girl he had slept beside. i did not have to wait long: he was so happy to see me, he knocked me down.

gets me every time! :sad1:

I had gotten to the point I didn't think it was going to happen. Watch someone give him a record deal.

Glad to hear it finally happened..I thought it would be Phil! DH and I were out buying a laptop..he needs one for the new job. Ugh. I don't mind throwing money around for Disney but when it comes to necessities..I hate it!!! :rotfl: Anyway...had a dream the other night he got booted. He was getting way too cocky!!
P.S. Got a wedding card from Ray's parents tonight...said they forgot to bring it to the wedding..who does that??? :confused3 Anyway, it had a gift in it...very meager but something I guess. Just hard to accept when we know they have money floating around. He still feels slighted but oh well. We have to move on!

I wonder if it was a producer decision!! He was bad, oh well.. I mean there is no way Melinda or any of the girls11 go before well, never mind...

Now if only channel 9 lets me see ANTM!!

:confused3 Sorry for the double post.:confused3

Have you read Ida B - its another sad one... but that one does seem poignant!!

:dance3: Sanjaya is gone!! Cant wait to see Shrek THREE!!

Ok..just read the Rainbow Bridge thing again....that part about the dog/cat playing until their ears prick up and then they see us? That got me. Same thing is mentioned in Dog Heaven. God plays with your pets and gives them treats until one day they meet you as you come up the road to Heaven. We have to believe this stuff..it's too sad not too. My dog in my sig only liked me and my dad (she was not the nicest dog...was a stray and had a rough start) so I can't wait to see her again. She was only 6 when she died of cancer. Have to stop this talk or I am going to be crying. :sad1:

He was getting cocky. I think that was starting to bother me more than his singing.

I'm glad that your inlaws sent a card. It is too bad that your husband (doesn't it feel cool to finally get to say that?) had to get slighted in the process.

The drive-in is fun! Two movies and you control your own sound, and you can bring your own snacks. (I have my 94% fat free kettle corn to take with me popcorn:: ) One of my first dates with my husband was at the drive-in. We use to take Chinese food.:)

You can do it Sandy!! :cheer2::cheer2: Water! Water! Water! It is what is keeping me feeling full. I have been craving chocolate too. I need to get some Dove Dark chocolate. I love  it! And a little goes a long way.

I just made individual chocolate soufflé cake, it was so good, and very chocolaty and they are only 152 calories and it is a good portion

Individual Chocolate Soufflé Cakes

To serve four, use five teaspoons flour and double the remaining ingredients. Doubling the flour would make the base too heavy.

Cooking spray
4 1/2 tablespoons granulated sugar, divided
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
1 1/2 tablespoons Dutch process cocoa
2 tablespoons fat-free milk
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 large egg white
1 teaspoon powdered sugar

Preheat oven to 350°.
Coat 2 (6-ounce) ramekins with cooking spray; sprinkle each with 3/4 teaspoon granulated sugar.

Combine 2 tablespoons granulated sugar, flour, cocoa, and milk in a small saucepan over medium heat. Cook 2 minutes, stirring until smooth. Spoon chocolate mixture into a medium bowl; cool 4 minutes. Stir in vanilla.

Place egg white in a medium bowl; beat with a mixer at high speed until soft peaks form. Add remaining 2 tablespoons granulated sugar, 1 teaspoon at a time, beating until stiff peaks form (do not overbeat). Gently stir 1/4 of egg white mixture into chocolate mixture; gently fold in remaining egg white mixture. Spoon mixture into prepared dishes. Sharply tap dishes 2 or 3 times to level. Place dishes on a baking sheet; bake at 350° for 15 minutes or until puffy and set. Sprinkle each soufflé with 1/2 teaspoon powdered sugar. Serve immediately.

Yield: 2 servings (serving size: 1 soufflé)

Yum! That sounds really good!:thumbsup2 I am a true chocoholic!! Thank you for sharing!:)

I forgot to mention I used almond extract instead of the vanilla somehow my vanilla just disappeared. I hate when that happens.

That looks like a good one, Bradford....mmmmm chocolate!

Belle- we have a genuine drive-in too! I love the popcorn there, it's the best! popcorn:: DANG, carbs!

Eventer- YAY! Shrek 3 looks so good! Cant wait!
