We would rather see that and missed it last time around.

Eventer, the Nemo show is wonderful! Kind of like the stage show of the Lion King, you kind of forget most of the puppeteers after a while. With some of the puppeteers, their personality adds to the show. And they have some really interesting contraptions that they use for some of the sealife.

The turtles are awesome, dude!!!

Uma, I have a suggestion to make about the Featured Peep that Wonders has just introduced. I think it would be a good idea to post the guidelines in your original post so we know where to easily find it down the road when we want to nominate people.

i'm pretty sure the lion king show is still there. i just posted a thread on the attractions board about which show to see: lion king or nemo? because i know DH will not do both, plus we may just not have time to do both. most everyone there says to go with the lion king. so i'm guessing it's still open if they've seen them both.

Thanks! Yes I guess I'm busy but I make myself take free time to do whatever I want. At the end of the semester, which is where I am now, things get crazy but then my schedule gets wide open as the clinic closes and classes end early, etc. So for the next few weeks I should have a pretty light load. I also think that I'm a fast worker. Once I actually get started on something, I can pop it out pretty quickly compared to some of the girls in my class it seems. Don't want that to sound too braggish but I have just always been able to work quickly. The problem I usually have is getting started. Like today, I had nowhere to go! Nowhere at all. But I had to make a powerpoint for a presentation I have tomorrow night. Guess when I started it? 8:00pm. I have gotten a lot better actually but sometimes, like today, I just don't have the motivation to do it. Anyway, to make a long post even longer, I'm busy but more than happy to take this on!

Oh and if you have any suggestions for what I should put in my questionnaire, feel free to share them...I'm open for ideas!

Peep of the Week!​

Hi everyone!
I mentioned this in an earlier post since I was so inspired by Dene being honored in the Member Spotlight at her "Y". So I'm starting a "Peep Spotlight" for the DISappearing Peeps! Here is how it will work:

1) It will be announced once every 2 weeks. I'll try to keep the day the same (i.e. every thursday). I'd love to do it every week but I don't think I will have enough time to do it every week. And once a month just seems like too long.

2) Please answer my question form! I'm going to try to set up a little questionnaire for all the Peeps that I will post on the board and you can respond back to me in a PM. PLEASE DO IT IN A PM! I will use this info *if* you get chosen for the Peep Spotlight.

3) Peeps will be chosen at random. HOWEVER, if I see or read something that I feel is especially worthy of Peep Spotlight, I may take that into consideration. YOU ALL may also nominate someone via a PM to me if you think someone really should be honored that week.

4) Once the Peep of the Week is announced that day on the boards, you all will post anything positive you might want to share about that Peep - anything from "she always responds to my posts" to "she makes me laugh" to "she inspires me to lose weight" - ANYTHING positive! It can be weight loss related of course but also general. If you have a special anecdote about that person, share it!

So I guess that is it. It will probably take me about a week to get everything organized and running smoothly so I would say to look for an important post from me sometime this weekend or next week! And if you already have a Peep in mind, send me a PM with her name and why you think she should be chosen.

I think this will be a great way for all of us to get to know each other a little bit better as well as get lots of positive feedback which is always good for the self-esteem!

Nemo replace Tarzan Rocks. Lion King - still there! Nemo is good. Definitely different, but good! Lion King - well, I am not sure what could compare to this one for me. It's one of my faves!

Punkin - forgot to say that The Lion King Show at AK is wonderful! I had refused to go to it for years because I thought it was sad like the movie (the stampede and all those sad father/son moments - I bawled through the whole thing). But my friend dragged me there and I'm so glad she did. It's upbeat and fun and unlike a lot of the other disney shows. I have not seen Nemo yet, but I do not think you would be disappointed if you could only see The Lion King!

Chiming in to say that the Nemo show was great! I really enjoyed it! It is long(ish) and very small children may not last (my little one had to be removed and one of the girls was bored before the end). The Lion King show is AWESOME- fun, funny, busy, multisensory. Kids of all ages will LOVE it. I wish I had found it sooner! It is on our must do list!


Also the peep of the week is a great idea!

Yay another GND fan! That's cool you met Kendra - is she pretty in real life. I know that sounds odd but sometimes I don't think she is super duper good looking although I will say her body is rockin'. She is probably my least favorite although I do like her more than when I first started watching the show - holly is probably my fave.

And you are the second person to say you cried at Meet the Robinsons. I'm totally clueless about movies - hardly ever watch them - even disney movies so I'm not quite sure what its about, but why is everyone crying at the end? And what does Walt have to do with it. Someone PM me - you will not spoil the ending at all since I probably won't see it till its on DVD



I figured since I mentioned it I'd be put in charge - not a problem. Is there a way I could get a list of all the peeps - screennames and real names so I could PM and post when needed about them? I'll start working on how it will all work out.

Just to introduce myself somewhat. I started loosing weight after my DH said I was obese. Let's just say that wasn't a pleasant moment. Sept. 10, 2006. I am 5'9" and had weighed 166. So he was right, I just never saw myself that way. My DH had been diagnosed with Addisons Disease in June and we were having a tough time then. Things are much better now we have figured his medicine dosage better etc.

So now I had a big why to loose weight. Which I have found I need. I have 4 kids DS 19 (almost 20), DD16, DS13 (almost 14) and the youngest DD turned 8 in Dec. I never lost all the extra weight after her, even though I walk every day. After hitting 40 a few years back I found it harder to loose the weight. So now I had to loose. So this is what I did to loose 30 pounds.

Pilates, kick boxing or walking everyday. More intense than before. My homemade granola stuff or oatmeal for breakfast and slimfast shake for lunch and luna bars for afternoon snack. Or nuts, I love peanuts and almonds now.
For dinner I eat less. I feel half my plate with salad and I used the spray dressings with 1 calorie per spray. Then just a little of the dinner I made for the family.

For a night snack, apple and almonds or yogurt or one cup popcorn (but not much).

I started lifting weights a month ago, so now I am getting firmer. But I have not lost anything for a month. I want to get to 128 so I can fluctuate up to 130. Well that is the goal. I know I need to start drinking more water again. As it is getting hotter that will help remind me.

I have to say loosing what I have I have felt tons better. I don't mind going shopping for jeans now. My cholesterol dropped 60 points so that is great. But I'm not at my goal yet. I am a goal oriented person if you haven't figured it out yet.

I work everyday this week - it takes time away from the dis'in!! OH, I remember, I also caught part of the disney travel channel special... it made me tear up it did!! Nemo replace Tarzan Rocks. Lion King - still there! Nemo is good. Definitely different, but good! Lion King - well, I am not sure what could compare to this one for me. It's one of my faves!

My kids thought i was hurt they were like why are you bawling mom it took me 10 mins to leave the theatre i had to compose myself.. i am just a emotional person anyway,

utahmama, off topic, i know (but we're always off topic around here!) but i just started reading your trip report (yeah, i'm obviously kinda late!) and i'm literally !!! what a great report! i can't believe i haven't read it yet. and i'm only on chapter 7! i guess i needed something to distract me - i'm working on a very ugly child molestation jury trial from a year ago and i can only take so much of that.......so i go to the DIS for some distraction!

I have a little diet-y success to share. We went to Pie Pizzaria tonight for dinner. My family had the Mountain of Meat...and I had the chicken caesar salad...No croutons and water. That pizza they all ate was sooooo greasy! Blech! I felt all strong for resisting it. Like I can conquer the world! At least for one meal...

I hope that everyone has a great day. My little guy who is 18mths got mad at DH and I ---- he came into the play and gave us a mean look of you can go to you know where now---then he promptly said Bye Bye daddy, Bye Bye mommy and ran off to the other room whining. About five minutes later he came and gave us a kiss----We have no clue what any of it was about--since he was just snuggling with us watching tv. It was sooo funny. To me that is funny to see their little personalities come out or to try and figure out what is going on in their little head.

For you teachers out there---you will understand this---I have IEP meetings scheduled for today and tomorrow--I am just sitting in on these ofr our upcoming 8th graders and then I have my IEP's on Tuesday and Wednesday next week. I have to finish them all and it is cruch time.

For you teachers out there---you will understand this---I have IEP meetings scheduled for today and tomorrow--I am just sitting in on these ofr our upcoming 8th graders and then I have my IEP's on Tuesday and Wednesday next week. I have to finish them all and it is cruch time.

Some of us parents understand this too. I have to meet with my son's school tomorrow. I got tired of waiting and set it up myself. Last time we met iver the summer in July because the person in charge is not organized. I am trying to stay positive but I am so frustrated. My biggest concern is the lack of communication between the staff and parents. I never hear from them and then I see all the comments on report card that make me want to scream. Ex. Restless and inattentive. I want so much to write back and say something like ," I am so shocked that my son with ADHD is restless and inattentive". Duh! Anyway, I feel for you. At least I nly have to go to one meeting. Do you have a suggestion how to get the school to improve communication? I tried sending a notebook in and asked them to write back inside but was told not enough staff. I gave my phone (home,work, cell), email and address. I am out of ideas.
