HAPPY TUESDAY, PEEPS!

One more nice day here for Spring Break....81 and sunny. TOMORROW'S FORCAST....49 and windy/rainy. Then kids are stuck in the house...bored and bickering. Uggg.

MOO....10 miles on the bike is awesome! Pretty soon it'll be breeze.

Sorry to say I am the "giver" of the needles you all so hate- I'm really good- you wont feel a thing I promise- I never do

I have to go to one of those teacher meetings today also. It is a GEP? I dont know- my youngest is in a gifted program- but I thought they were all called IEP- I learned a little teacher lingo in my school health nurse days- The teacher said we would discuss her future- she's only 10- middle school is our only future. I have been worried about our middle school- its way out of control with lack of discipline. I tried to convince my daughter to home school but she didnt want any part of it but we are getting a new principal ( the former one was my high school english teacher and IMO just riding out her years to retirement) Our new principal is coming from the elementary school and is the person in charge of discipline there and the kids say he is really strict so maybe things will be better. Just to give you an idea- we have more problems with drugs, sex, and pregnancy at the middle school than the high school

I need help...a lot of it! I am having a bit of a relapse...All I want to do is eat Candy! It doesn't help that I am in charge of the neighborhood Easter Egg Hunt on Sat. I have been stuffing little egg plastic eggs with candy for days...and I only have 330, so I will be doing it for a few more (need to get to 500+).

I am also in the middle of an allergy melt down...when I am not wanting/thinking about shoving candy in my mouth, I am itching my eyeballs out of my head, q-tiping my inner ears (itching in there) and clucking the top of my mouth with my tonge (again another itching method I have)....I am falling apart!

How do I get out of it? Where do I get the power?

YOU CAN DO IT!!!!!!!! just think about the weigh-in on friday and how happy you'll be when you've lost! we're all behind you!

i do the same thing with my allergies. thank goodness i don't have bad allergies, but when the pollen count gets as high as it is right now i do have the itchy roof of my mouth/inner ear problem. and you know, i think that has something to do with eating, too. i always eat more when i have allergy irritations because having some food in my mouth (especially candy) seems to sooth the itchiness.

have you tried chewing a piece of gum while you do your easter egg stuffing?

Yeah, my family used to tease me for being so innocent. Of course now I am an over 40 somewhat jaded older woman who knows better and I still make the stupid remarks without thinking. Ah well. I am hoping for my clothes to get too big. Someone at work asked if I lost weight and I wanted to hug her

Some of us parents understand this too. I have to meet with my son's school tomorrow. I got tired of waiting and set it up myself. Last time we met iver the summer in July because the person in charge is not organized. I am trying to stay positive but I am so frustrated. My biggest concern is the lack of communication between the staff and parents. I never hear from them and then I see all the comments on report card that make me want to scream. Ex. Restless and inattentive. I want so much to write back and say something like ," I am so shocked that my son with ADHD is restless and inattentive". Duh! Anyway, I feel for you. At least I nly have to go to one meeting. Do you have a suggestion how to get the school to improve communication? I tried sending a notebook in and asked them to write back inside but was told not enough staff. I gave my phone (home,work, cell), email and address. I am out of ideas.

This may be different in your state---but you should have a new IEP meeting before the old IEP runs out of date. For example: MY son is in gifted education but also has a learning disability---his IEP expired on March 10th. We were not in school during that time so by law we had to have the meeting the week before---or his IEP would have expired. As far as communication goes--get it added to the IEP that there will be bi weekly updates on grades and or behavior. You can do that and you have the right to do it.

I so understand the eggs---last week I filled almost 1000 eggs. Had my kids help and my neighbors kids also helped. It took us 2 hours to get it all done. I am aslo in charge of another egg hunt this Saturday for some kids at a housing complex. I am stuffing another 600 eggs for that. They are also doing a craft and I am boiling 300 eggs for them to dye. This will the 3rd year that I have done this--it is an outreach that our church does.

lexmelinda Yes, I am the evil needle weilding nurse. I've been nursing for 18 years. Mostly pediatrics. I love newborns and working in the intensive care nursery. So when it comes to "sticking" big people- your veins are HUGE compared to the newborns and premies I usually stick- Honestly, I rarely miss- and my patients (the occasional big ones) tell me I dont hurt. Even my kids -when we go to the doctor -would rather have mommy do the blood or the shot than the office nurse- so hey, if your kid trusts you So next time you chickens have to go to the doctor- Nurse Sparkie will come and hold your hand and there is a lollipop just for you- sugar free of course. JUST KIDDING!

Thanks Melinda and Allie, I feel so loved !!! For all of you who sent kind words and wishes back in February when my Grandpa passed away, thank you so much for all of the support . . .

Well, the past 2 months were sooo crazy!! Sorry I haven't posted in awhile, but I've officially decided that I need my peeps !!! February was rough because DH was out of town so I was living with my parents again, and actually my dad's still unemployed so me and my DH are still spending a lot of time with them to keep their spirits up. But I have been so busy between family, work, school, and just trying to find some time for me that I haven't lost any weight . . . but at least I haven't gained !!

Big Surpise: We're going to Phoenix, AZ at the end of May for a week to visit my DSIL and our 6 DN's & DN!!! So peeps I have to get back on track so I can fit into some shorts in the 100 degree dry heat of Arizona!! It seems I only lose weight when I'm actively posting with all of you . . . I guess that makes me a good testimonial, so now I just have to keep thinking WWPD. I tried to catch up with everyone's posts back in March but by now I think I'm still on page 480 or something so it's time to just get with the now!!! I probably won't be able to post as much as I used to in January but I'm going to keep reading everyday and jump in when I can . . . It's good to be back !!!

Afternoon all I must confess I fell hard these past 48 hours. MY dear mother bless her heart came for the weekend and her first words were oh dear I see you have lost wieght all in your CHEST?? OMG!!! WEll needless to say it did not fall from that tone and after she left I gorged on chinese food and everyother horrible thing yes I even snuck out like a thief in the night to snatch a box of Krispy Kremes sadly I am certain I will lose this pretty ribbon this week.

OK so yes I feel like dirt! What did I do naturally hurt myslef more makes sense doesn't it??

OK back to work I have been holding all this in and am not feeling the love for me like I had been prior to her visit I was feeling very good before. UGh ok I am done whinning how many calories did that serving of whine have?? TOO MANY!

dear fidge, you're not alone! i too lose weight in my chest first. see, my problem areas are my butt and my thights. i've been very lucky in the tummy and upper body department and i've never struggled with that (but i've also never been pregnant, either!). so when i lose weight, i ALWAYS lose from my stomach and chest first.....and i don't want to lose from there! it's inevitable! so take heart in knowing you're not alone when it comes to losing your womanly assets! (sorry, guys!)

I am aghast, agape, agog......why do family members always undermine our successes. They should be the most supportive ones!

Brigitte....don't let anyone undo all the good you've done for yourself, your body, your health and your family! You deserve this! AND we all know that your chest doesn't weigh 30 pounds!?! Those pounds came from lotsa places!
