DISappearing Peeps...A fastpass to THIN! Part 3

We just got a Homemedics digital scale for a shower gift. It's basic but nice. I used to sell Avon and they had one for about $50 that showed your fat ratio (or whatever it's called) This is the first scale I have ever owned...I use to think out of sight, out of mind! :rotfl:

:rotfl2: Yes, me too! When I am at the Dr. I always tell the nurse "I don't want to know". I did sneak a peak the last time I was there.:scared1: I am expecting a similar number.

Wanted to report that I tried on some of my shorts tonight, and they are definitely fitting better!!! :cool1: I put on a pair that were TIGHT last time I remember wearing them, and they are fitting well now! So, I am really pleased about that!

Also, DH and I went to Slumberland tonight, and we bought a king size mattress! It is soooooo comfy! DH has been having trouble sleeping, therefore causing me some trouble sleeping, and he went for the pricey one! It is heavenly though, I must say! We don't get it for a couple of weeks, but I can't wait! :yay:

Wow - it's been awhile! Have a fabulous time!

I walked for fifty minutes tonight. And now I'm watching the end of the Sound of Music. Sometimes you just can't beat the old favorites.

Great job on the walking!!:cheer2: I love older movies!

I have a Tanita scale, and LOVE it! (at least I love it when the numbers go down....not so fond of it when they go back up :rotfl: ) I got it at a Sporting Goods store, just don't remember which one. :confused3 Mine gives you your weight, and Body fat percentage. You enter your height, gender, then weigh yourself, and it figures out your BMI. I think it was about $50. That is pretty steep for a scale, but I have had it for about 5 years, and haven't had a bit of trouble out of it.

Don't know if I said this when you joined, but :welcome: to our party:

Thanks for the welcome and the scale tip! I have been anti-scale for so long I don't know what to look for.

I have been upping my exercise. I was up to walking Jasper 40 minutes actually. So I will probably ride the bike tomorrow for at least 40, and I will do about 30 tonight on the exercise ball. My goal is at least 30 minutes 5-6 days a week. I think this coming week, I am gonna try to do at least 40-45 minutes 3 of those days - maybe more. Have fun shopping with your friend! :)
I am not sure of my brand. I think it's homemedics. It's kinda fancy. It was $60-70, but we had the 20% off coupon and a credit from something we had returned for store credit. I like it...well, about as much as I can like a scale! :rotfl:

I feel that way too. So much more motivated than I have been in years. It's a great place to be, here! I'm glad you are enjoying it, and we are all happy to have you! :)

Awesome job on excercising! :cheer2: Do you think you are gaining muscle and maybe losing inches? Thank you for the scale tip! I will let you know which one of those evil number machines I get.

I would say that is definately a non-scale victory!!:thumbsup2

We have a king size bed and I love it!

Totals for today...

B: oatmeal & light Activia yogurt (230)
L: turkey & saurkraut (sp?) wrap (210) light Activia yogurt (70)
S: popcorn (100)
S: banana (120)
D: half of a chicken quesadilla explosion salad at Chili's (700)

TOTAL: 1430 calories & about 140 oz. of water

Gonna go do 30 minutes on the exercise ball right now!

What kind of mattress was it? Was it one of those cushy Tempurpedic or just a cushy regular one? I really want a King size mattress! We have a queen and it is fine, but when we go on vacation and sleep in a king size, it feels like there is sooooo much more room.

Well fiddlesticks. I thought I sent out a reply about 4 hours ago, but I can't find it. Maybe I previewed it but didn't post:confused3 . Anyways, here's part of what I said.

Hugs and prayers for Bee, her papa, and the rest of her family.

I stayed the same this week. I don't feel too bad about it. I went through my food diary and tried to figure out just how much I had to eat this week. I figure that will give me a ballpark figure of how much I can eat to maintain my weight, since my goal is not too far off. I also did some toning exercises almost every day, especially for the bat-wings, and my knees, which appear to be melting.:scared:

Then I gave a :thumbsup2 to all of those who lost weight today, and a "good on ya" to the gainers and samers. Hanging in here is a good habit that promotes other good habits.

If this turns out to be a repeat of a post floating out there, I apologize. I couldn't handle total fasting today, but I did cut back on eating and felt a little light-headed. Maybe it's just the dizzy blonde in me.

We watched the first half of The Gospel of John today. I recommend it. When Jesus wept at Lazarus' death, I wept too. Very touching.

:rotfl2: Yes, me too! When I am at the Dr. I always tell the nurse "I don't want to know". I did sneak a peak the last time I was there.:scared1: I am expecting a similar number.

:lmao: That's the same thing I say!!! It makes me sick!!!

Congrats on the shorts fitting! I know what a good feeling that is! :goodvibes I will be trying on shorts in about 2 months. Long enough away to maybe lose more weight by then but close enough that it will still give me time to buy more shorts in whatever size I am in! I kept everything that was one size down (was never 2 sizes down!) and I am hoping the shorts/jeans fit. What stinks is I need a new pair of everyday jeans (wear jeans to work ED) but don't want to buy them now. Am hopeful I can go down one size. But mine are wearing out..I am waiting for the knees to wear through! :headache:

Congrats to all this week's losers and samers! I was also a samer and mentioned that to Uma last night. Here's to our ALL being LOSERS next week!!!

:yay: :cheer2:

But tonight I have a cold (it's just coming on..hope it goes away fast!) and really want to eat Cadbury Mini Eggs and watch TV. :confused3
Mai tai suggest that you try the Zicam nose swabs? They usually help shorten the duration of my colds. I started getting a cold earlier this week, too. I had to stop by the store to get some of those softer Kleenex for my nose.

Cute Easter pic, Michelle! Here's my Easter funny:

easter-egg.jpg

 to Bee and family.

My Grandma also went into the hospital late last night with an abdominal infection and is on IV antibiotics. I stopped to see her after work and to talk with my uncle a bit. Fortunately, she wasn't in pain and was alert and able to talk with us, even though she is pretty hard to understand. She's 100 and it looks like her body may just be getting too frail. I'm going back to go back to see her tomorrow.

Love the picture. When I let the roots go, I get stripey like that.:lmao:

Prayers for Grandma. Wow, 100 y.o. I'm glad she's not in pain.

My mom's best friend from high school has lived in Antioch for years and years. We used to go there every year for vacation. I know right where Hendersonville is, and I'm sure I've been to Gallatin too.

my dad lives in antioch! hendersonville is one town south of gallatin (and is also the town where johnny cash and june carter cash lived for many, many years - my DH is a huge johnny cash fan). i also worked in hendersonville in college as an office assistant at kenny rogers productions. anyway, if you're on the main strip that runs through hendersonville (highway 31 a/k/a nashville pike) and you keep heading north or, in other words, the opposite direction of nashville, you'll go right into gallatin in about 10 minutes. it's crazy how much we all have in common and don't even know it!

Welp, a shameless plug here...for my TR was posted tonight. Pic of DLMama included free of charge.

LOOK at my post count!!!

Wooo Hooooty coming right up! Tomorrow!!!

Ok, so, back to business...

This week we didn't have as many weigh-ins...It's weird!

23.7 pounds lost!

Raise the Roof!!!!! Our biggest Losers were Spongie and Dene...show offs!

Hang in there, Peeps! (mmmmm...Peeps....)

Easter is going to be a challenge for most of us.

PLAN ahead!!! WWPD???

Love You Guys!!!!

GOOD MORNING, EVERYONE!!! :sunny:

After yesterday's freaky, apocolyptic snow storm, the temp is currently 23!!! :scared1:

DD17 has been hired to play the Easter Bunny at an egg hunt. She picked up the costume last night and our whole family is fascinated with it!

I'm happy for her that the temperature is cool but can't imagine how many parents will bring their little darlins to an egg hunt when it's below freezing.

do you know which part of old hickory?
Nope. I'll have to ask Mom. The marina is right off Gallatin Road but not sure of the name.
Beware of the peeps !!! my peeps ...
The peeps allready got me, Misty. I showed them though! Bit off their little heads. ;)
Also, I just wanted to thank everyone for making me feel so welcome here. :grouphug: What a great bunch of peeps!
Glad you feel at home.
And now I'm watching the end of the Sound of Music.
Me, too! I love that movie! Way to go on the exercise, woman! :thumbsup2
I have been upping my exercise. I was up to walking Jasper 40 minutes actually.
That commitment to just a little exercise is where you will see a big difference, Lynda. I'm sure of it!
Wanted to report that I tried on some of my shorts tonight, and they are definitely fitting better!!!
GREAT!!! :cool1:
Also, DH and I went to Slumberland tonight, and we bought a king size mattress! It is soooooo comfy!
Lucky! DH and I still sleep in a double bed! I KNOW!!! We recently got a Tempurpedic and now he says it hurts his back!? :confused3
D: half of a chicken quesadilla explosion salad at Chili's (700)
A 1400 calorie SALAD! :scared1: Thank goodness you only ate half!
I also did some toning exercises almost every day, especially for the bat-wings, and my knees, which appear to be melting.:scared:
My knees are beginning to show some melty qualities. I don't mind getting older...I just don't like looking older. ;)
I couldn't handle total fasting today, but I did cut back on eating and felt a little light-headed.
Danielle...were you fasting for Good Friday???
We watched the first half of The Gospel of John today. I recommend it. When Jesus wept at Lazarus' death, I wept too. Very touching.
I must get it now.
Mai tai suggest that you try the Zicam nose swabs?
NO! Cheryl, I was going to get some of these when I started feeling icky before our trip last fall. I had never used Zicam before so searched it online and guess what I found.....Zicam settled a $12 million class action lawsuit with 340 people who lost their sense of smell after using it! I took Cold-Eez zinc lonzenges and they stopped my cold in its tracks. They have a disgusting after taste but they REALLY work!
My Grandma also went into the hospital late last night with an abdominal infection and is on IV antibiotics.
Prayers for your Grandma. My Granddaddy is 97 and it's awful to see him in that frail little body that won't cooperate. Everytime he gets a cold he had to go to the hospital. He's still my big, strong Granddaddy inside there. I bet you feel the same way about your Grandma.
my dad lives in antioch! hendersonville is one town south of gallatin (and is also the town where johnny cash and june carter cash lived for many, many years - my DH is a huge johnny cash fan).
When I was a kid, my mom drove us to Johnny and June's house to see what it looked like and Johnny was pulling out of the driveway and stopped to talk to the fans. What a nice man. Punkin....are you as shocked as I am by the increase in violent crime in Nashville. We only watch Nashville stations when I'm at my mom's and it seems like there a murder, carjacking, abduction, etc. every day when I'm there. Is it just me???
Easter is going to be a challenge for most of us.

PLAN ahead!!! WWPD???
Somehow we made it though Thanksgiving and Christmas. Easter should be a breeze in comparison!

HAVE A SATURDAY, PEEPS! STAY WARM!
:flower3:

(who'd have thought I'd be saying that on Easter weekend?!)

I can't believe the weather for this weekend! Here it is April and I am looking out my window to snow!!! Yuck! I really don't want to wear boots tomorrow for Easter.....guess I might have too! :sad2: Guess that's the joys of living in Buffalo, NY!!!

Bee...Prayers for you & your family.

Per usual, there are too many for me to have caught up on this morning. Maybe I'll be able to tomorrow afternoon. Right now I have to get ready to go to work at the deli for 9 hrs!!!! Yup, I'm on my feet that whole time, running back & forth! So, that will be my exercise for the day!

Went food shopping yesterday & bought "good for me" food. That's my goal for the week...healthy food & LOTS of water! :hippie:

Hope you all have a wonderful day!!!!:goodvibes

Hey guys - newbie here. Actually, this is my 1st post! I'm really glad to see a weight loss topic here. I had RNY Gastric Bypass 7/17/06 and have lost 105 lbs and am getting close to needing to maintain. One of my goals was to be able to fit on the rides at Disney! I think I'm there! (I'll have to test that out soon, no formal date for a trip yet...) Since my surgery, I've decided to go back to school and get my RN and help other obese and morbidly obese people by being a bariatric coordinator. I also want to start a community program (that's free) that will teach nutrition to kids & their families, and teach them how to make quick, easy, healthful meals.

I've been reading through this board and you guys are doing an awesome job! It's much easier to lose the weight with some great support! I'm headed to kickboxing and ab-blast at 9am. Gotta use that membership, since I figure what DH and I gave for it should cover a nice chunk of a WDW trip. If being cheap motivates me, then I say use it!

Happy Saturday ya'll!

Congratulations to all Losers and Samers:) :woohoo:

This may be different in your state---but you should have a new IEP meeting before the old IEP runs out of date. For example: MY son is in gifted education but also has a learning disability---his IEP expired on March 10th. We were not in school during that time so by law we had to have the meeting the week before---or his IEP would have expired. As far as communication goes--get it added to the IEP that there will be bi weekly updates on grades and or behavior. You can do that and you have the right to do it.
Thanks for the tip. The meeting didnt go so well. The leader already completed the IEP and it was not acceptable. I refused to sign, explained we usually create it as a team and took a copy home to add my input. Grrrrrrr

I typically go into the meeting with one filled out, but let the parents know that this is a working document and we can change things around as much or as little as needed. Mine are kind of different because they are transitioning to the High School and the classes are cut and dry based on their diploma route. Now the modifications and accomodations page in another story. I let them make the final say so on that page. Good luck.

Speaking of Easter...

Happy Easter Everyone!

STAY AWAY FROM THE CANDY!!!

Congrats to all this week's losers and samers! I was also a samer and mentioned that to Uma last night. Here's to our ALL being LOSERS next week!!!

Boiling the eggs as I type--- Joahua is a little under the weather--I don;t see how we all aren't when the temp was in 80's beginning of the week and now in low 30's.
I HOPE THAT EVERYONE HAS A BLESSED EASTER WEEKEND !! :grouphug:

I used to take Cold-Eez all the time but for some reason the after taste gets to me now. A couple of times I thought I was going to throw up afterwards. Maybe I don't have a tolerance for them anymore?? I guess I will just have to stick with my orange juice. :confused3
