just a quick post to say.........

exactly one month from this very minute i will be getting my seats for fantasmic at MGM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i can't believe it's only a month away. this is the first time i've gone to WDW in 15 years!!!!!! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

How cool!
!!

How cool!! :cool1: I actually haven't seen Fantasmic. Are you doing the dining package?
We did Fantasmic once with the dining package and once without. If you're going at a busy time of year and you don't want to get to the theater early, the FDP is good although the seating times kinda stink...4-5 pm. We liked doing Fantasmic w/o the dining package but we were there in September so it was a slow time of year. The dining package seats are way over to the right of the theater. Warning: Don't get too close to the front of the theater. You might get wet!

we will be there on sunday, may 6th. so i'm not sure how busy it'll be. we have a dinner ADR at sci-fi for 6:30, i believe, so we'll probably head over to get a seat at fantasmic after that. does anyone know if there's anywhere to get alcohol (besides beer....like a margarita) in the path between sci-fi and the fantasmic area? i thought if we're going to have to wait for the show we might as well have a drink (or 2!) with us.

i looked into doing the fantasmic dining package thing, but i decided against it. number one, this is going to be an OOP meal because we're using 2 TS credits for narcoosee's two nights later. so i'd be paying OOP for it and that means the only one we could afford would probably be hollywood and vine and i haven't heard very good things about it! so i'm going to chance it and stick with our sci-fi ADR. i know the food there isn't that good, but i think DH will love the atmosphere. we grew up in a town just north of nashville that actually had a drive-in movie theater until about 1994 when they finally tore it down. so it will remind us of our childhood and teenage years at the drive-in! :goodvibes

to answer someone else's question (i don't remember who and i didn't quote -sorry!) yes, we're on the DDP. that's why i'm dieting before we leave so i can be a glutton while we're there!!!!!!!!!

Which town? Did you tell me this already? I'm from Franklin, KY.

The Sci-Fi has excellent milk shakes and "adult slushies" if I remember correctly. I love the atmosphere. The onion rings are good too. One of my first dates with my husband was at a drive in. We still like to go every summer.

Thank you for the tips! We will do it without the dining package. I will remember to try not to get too close!!:)

i think we have talked about this, but that's okay! it's hard to keep up with all the peeps! me and DH are both originally from gallatin, tennessee. it's about 30 miles north of nashville. i think it takes about an hour to get to franklin from there. it's a small town known for their football team (who won state my junior year - go waves!)

OK....I remember you saying you were from Nashville but not Gallatin. My mom and her husband have a houseboat on Old Hickory near Gallatin.

Tomorrow I am going scale shopping. It is time for me to face the music. Does anyone have a brand that they like? I'm not sure if I should get a regular one or one with a little more "bling".

Also, I just wanted to thank everyone for making me feel so welcome here. :grouphug: What a great bunch of peeps! I really feel motivated for the first time in a long time. I am excited to have this group to share the journey with.:)

We just got a Homemedics digital scale for a shower gift. It's basic but nice. I used to sell Avon and they had one for about $50 that showed your fat ratio (or whatever it's called) This is the first scale I have ever owned...I use to think out of sight, out of mind! :rotfl:

Bee, prayers to your family and please keep us updated.

Ok! There's going to be free dining on the 12th. Do any of you want to plan a meet for September??? I think the last day of free dining will be Sept. 22. I want to go to the "Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party" that starts like on the 15th ish.

Aries? Any Thoughts? Anyone????? :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: I think Sept. 12-19th for us....MY BIG 4-0!!!!!!

I know we'll have to have 2 rooms at POP. That's all I'm sure of at this point.
We wont be able to go in January...we cant do it without the free dining. We are too cheap ;) .

Oh, I lost 2 pounds! asta la vista baby!

UM,we are going 8/31-9/5 also.Plus I am still planning on going in January.:woohoo:

Okay I gained 2.5 lbs.
I feel like a big yoyo.

Wow - it's been awhile! Have a fabulous time!

I walked for fifty minutes tonight. And now I'm watching the end of the Sound of Music. Sometimes you just can't beat the old favorites.

I have a Tanita scale, and LOVE it! (at least I love it when the numbers go down....not so fond of it when they go back up :rotfl: ) I got it at a Sporting Goods store, just don't remember which one. :confused3 Mine gives you your weight, and Body fat percentage. You enter your height, gender, then weigh yourself, and it figures out your BMI. I think it was about $50. That is pretty steep for a scale, but I have had it for about 5 years, and haven't had a bit of trouble out of it.

Don't know if I said this when you joined, but :welcome: to our party:

You are so close! You've lost more than 20 and only have 7 left. And your trip isn't until May. I think you (and I) can do it! I was looking at Dene's exercise numbers, and I know that's why I don't make more progress. I don't exercise enough. I've been trying to add a little, but it is just too easy to sit around. I've given my mother permission to "remind" me I said I was getting on the treadmill!! I must be desperate!

Hope you all have a good evening and Easter! I'm goofing off tomorrow with a friend. I'll try really hard to not eat too badly! - or spend too much shopping.

Thanks, all, for your support!

I have been upping my exercise. I was up to walking Jasper 40 minutes actually. So I will probably ride the bike tomorrow for at least 40, and I will do about 30 tonight on the exercise ball. My goal is at least 30 minutes 5-6 days a week. I think this coming week, I am gonna try to do at least 40-45 minutes 3 of those days - maybe more. Have fun shopping with your friend! :)

WOOOO HOOOOOTY!!! That is gonna rock! My honeymoon was the first time I had been in 11 years, and it was incredible!

I think Sci-Fi has great food! I love me a cheeseburger, shake, and some onion rings from there! And the atmosphere is great! :thumbsup2

Oh, yeah they do! Love those milkshakes! And the onion rings are great! DH is allergic to beer, and theirs are NOT beer battered, so we always share an order there!

OK....I remember you saying you were from Nashville but not Gallatin. My mom and her husband have a houseboat on Old Hickory near Gallatin.

My mom's best friend from high school has lived in Antioch for years and years. We used to go there every year for vacation. I know right where Hendersonville is, and I'm sure I've been to Gallatin too.

Tomorrow I am going scale shopping. It is time for me to face the music. Does anyone have a brand that they like? I'm not sure if I should get a regular one or one with a little more "bling".

I am not sure of my brand. I think it's homemedics. It's kinda fancy. It was $60-70, but we had the 20% off coupon and a credit from something we had returned for store credit. I like it...well, about as much as I can like a scale! :rotfl:

I feel that way too. So much more motivated than I have been in years. It's a great place to be, here! I'm glad you are enjoying it, and we are all happy to have you! :)
