You are flippin gorgeous! Love your wedding photos! Has there ever been a bad picture taken of you?:confused3

Don't you think it would be uber-icky to smooch an icy-cold man all the time?
YES, Bonnie! I do! As I told Wendee yesterday, what woman could resist the knowledge, wisdom, and experience of a 100 year old man all wrapped up in a smokin hot 17 year old Greek-god package. BUT. I like my men warm. It's just a personal preference. AND. Knowing I could never get so much as a paper cut around his family would be a drawback too. :confused3 (Disclaimer: I am only halfway through New Moon so I'm not sure how it all works out in the end.)

RE: The casting for the movie....I hope they let "Cedric" keep his English accent and work that into the story somehow. The accent would make Edward even hotter IMHO. I also really like the girl cast as Bella. (Loved her in Zathura...one of DS's favorite movies.)

Wendee
....I also love Alice! She's adorable! For a vampire. ;)

DAWN
....Thanks for sharing your wedding pictures! You are absolutely radiant. AND you look exactly the same! How do you do that?

Danielle....WOOT! WOOT! ((raisin' the roof))

Celery....Skinny IS better than tipsy! :thumbsup2

I, too, had a date with Miss Clairol yesterday. DS was invited to go to the aquarium with a friend so I quickly whipped out the box of color I had at home and then went out to get my hair cut. Results from yesterday via my new web cam....

Gotta go get ready for church. May take longer since I have to "do hair".

HAVE A WONDERFUL & BLESSED SUNDAY, EVERYONE! :flower3:

I was good all week! However I was simply horrible Friday and Saturday! Good news is last night DH and I decided that if we can swing it $$$ wise we will go to WDW over my kids SPring Break!:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: SO I figure that gives me 10 weeks to lose 16 lbs to get me to my first big goal of 2008 (which is that the 1st # in my weight be a 1 for the first time in many, many years) A trip to see the mouse should keep me motivated. I'm anxious to see the mouse this year as a friend of mine has a daughter who is the mouse and sometimes she is the mouse's girlfriend. I'll have to get her appearance schedule! I should be able to do 16 pounds in 10 weeks, right? I'll have to do lots of this :yay: This is going to be our birthday gift to one another. We both have birthdays in January and really don;t want or need anything right now....except a trip to WDW!

I think you def can lose 16 pounds in 10 weeks!!!! My goal is 20 pounds is 20 weeks for when i leave to go to Disney for my bachelorette party.

If you havent tried turbo jam workouts yet..give them a try I feel when I cant get to the gym they are the perfect solution to pushing myself at home..and they are fun 2!

I was wondering if any of you peeps could help me on a non dieting issue? im in the process of planning my honeymoon. We are going to spend some time in Maui and then Disneyland...

2 quick questions? In Maui...does anyone know the difference between Wailea and Kapalua? Im debating between two hotels in two different areas..my fiance and I like to be near some sort of nightlife and restaurants..we are not the secluded beach type.

Has anyone been to disneyland? if so how many days and night would we need there in order to experience everything. we plan on staying at the grand californian...any help would be awesome..i need to book this soon and have to make a final decision i could use any help i could get...thanks a bunch!

i hope everyone is having a great healthy weekend

Dawn - I LOVE your pics! You were blonde! I like it, but it is so different from the way we see you now. You were a beautiful bride! You look the same (but with blonde hair), but Ray looks soooooo young (like a kid)! I sure hope that doesn't sound insulting. You both are beautiful people! Ok, maybe I better just be quiet over here. :rolleyes1

i was 25 and ray was 30 in those pics. i'm now 31 and he's 36. and ray gets carded more than i do. anyway, he's aged a little now that he's gained a little weight. but he needed to - he was too skinny!

Dawn- I like you with blonde hair too. You look good no matter what you do though (GRRRRR! ;) ) I feel younger with highlights AND lowlights to blend greys best. But, I've been doing Miss Clairol (that sounds so "nice", eh?) for the last couple months because I haven't had the time or money to get my usual weave.

I love that your bridesmaids all had different patterns for their dresses using the same gorgeous fabric. That's great cuz everyone gets a flattering cut.

i hear ya on the getting hair color from a box because i can't afford to have a professional do it thing! that's why i switched to just one color of brown. i used to get highlights and it got to be really annoying because my hair grows so fast!

yeah...i had bridesmaids that were all shaped very differently. so i picked a group of dresses that were made of the same material and let them each pick their own dress. except for my sister. i made her wear strapless since she was the maid of honor and i wanted her dress to look similar to mine. she hated it......she's such a tomboy!

Punkin...your pics are beautiful! You are really pretty as a blonde, but I think I like you better as a brunette. Maybe because I have always wanted dark hair like yours! :)

thank you! i like me better as a brunette, too...it's easier to maintain!

(do people still ever say Hubba Hubba?)

you're bringin it back, UM!

Dawn, love the pics. I like either hair color, really... the brunette is more striking though.

I have a date w/ Miss Clairol sometime in the very near future (L'Oreal for me, but same difference!).

i just colored mine. i went with a lighter brown this time because it was getting too dark. but this color didn't really cover my gray like i wanted. i'm thinking about getting red highlights just for something different. what do you guys think that would look like?

Good news is last night DH and I decided that if we can swing it $$$ wise we will go to WDW over my kids SPring Break!:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

:yay: a new trip.......so exciting! when are you going? we'll be there april 27th through may 3rd, but i'm sure that's after your kid's spring break.

oh, and what exactly are the qualifications to play the mouse?

Good thing I'm not the tag fairy...cause I so would have tagged you with that one!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

i'm glad you're not the tag fairy, too! i don't know about having the word "bowel" forever next to my avatar!

Dawn~

Lol! We cant wait there is 8 of us going for 8 days staying at the BCV! It's going to be a blast..i even made tee shirts with the help of the creative design website that say "what happens in disney...stays in disney"

Allie:

Fleet Feet opening in Bham on 1/11. Gonna check then out- I'm tired of my feet hurting. The shoes cant be anymore than the $230 pair of "custom orthotics" that the doctor said I just had to have and insurance didnt cover and I only wore once for about an hour- Could have invested my money in better shoes.

16 lbs in 10 weeks is definitely do-able!! You can try doing my drastic diet of 1200 calories. But seriously, it does work, even though you are hungry sometimes. I find creative ways to stretch my calories, too... lots and lots of veggies.

i

i just colored mine. i went with a lighter brown this time because it was getting too dark. but this color didn't really cover my gray like i wanted. i'm thinking about getting red highlights just for something different. what do you guys think that would look like?

...

if only you could see the amount of gray hair i have. :sad2:

I think the red highlights would look great!

I have a TON of gray, over 50%. At one point, my hair got too dark as well. I went to a professional and he put the lighter highlights through my hair and it really helped lighten it up. I have enough gray that once they grew out, my gray was adding natural highlights.

Otherwise, to get more than a shade or two lighter, you have to strip the color from the whole head which can really damage your hair.

Do you only dye the roots? If you dye your hair often, at least according to my hairdresser, you should put the color on the roots and let it sit for the development time - a few min, then pull it through the hair and let sit for the final few, and wash out.

I really like the L'Oreal Excellence Creme 'RB' line... I use 5RB but you might want a lighter one. It still has enough brown to cover the gray but the 'R' part adds some nice highlights. And you don't get the "hot roots" like you do with 'R' only colors.

:yay: a new trip.......so exciting! when are you going? we'll be there april 27th through may 3rd, but i'm sure that's after your kid's spring break.

Not sure of exact dates, but I'm thinking the 17th through the 25th of March

Hello everyone,
I'd really like to join your Peeps if you'll have me....I really need to be accountable for my weight loss and need the motivation you guys provide!

Ok, a little about me...My name is Kelly, im 26, getting married in August and I need to lose a stone in weight - my fuzzy math tells me this is 14lb!
Im doing Weight Watchers - or I will be when I get my brain in gear. Ive done it before and lost 2 stone, but getting engaged and getting a house made me lazy and content and a stone has gone back on, out of nowhere!:rotfl:
I live in the North of England, so my posting times may be a little out of sync with you all but i'll manage. Ive read back over a 'few' pages, not the whole 1502 admittedly - from what I can gather you all motivate each other, which is great, and I have to post a bikini picture - I cant seem to find all of yours though!:scratchin

Ive come to realise that I wont lose any weight by sitting at home, pretending to exercise, eating Cadbury's Creme eggs, all the while telling people Im on a diet - surprisingly no weight comes off! Also, and Ive not admitted this to anyone - im finding it really hard to motivate myself, even knowing ive got 8 months to fit into my wedding dress.
Oh well, I see this as the first step to my dream weight!

Are these DVDs?

DinseyGalUKelly - Welcome!!! That's right you go to bed about the time we all get cookin' around here. Post often so we can get to know you. Weigh in day is friday. Just post how much you lost in pretty bold numbers like this.....-2 lbs. so that UM can keep the tally for us.

Pixie - I got Asics Gel - Kayano 14. They are like walking on clouds. :cloud9:

Dawn and Melinda - You are both gorgeous!

Sparkie - Good luck at Fleet Feet! :thumbsup2 They were definitely CHEAPER than those orthodics.

Ok, I really NEED to be packing. I have at least gotten the suitcases out of the attic.

Thanks so much for the welcome, I was actually scared to post a message here! I think its because its such a long thread, plus im more of a lurker than a poster - that will change now though!:upsidedow

I see you are doing the Disney 5K - good for you! Last year I did the Race for Life - it raises money for Breast Cancer, I think that was about 3K and I walked most of it - Im so unfit. It was supposed to be in June, but then we had all the floods so it got postponed till August and I STILL wasn't prepared! Im hoping to do it again this year, and I WILL run it - weather permitting!:rotfl:

Im terrible with time differences - its 8.32pm here so Im guessing mid afternoon for you guys? Oh well, at least if you all post while im asleep it gives me something to read at work the following day!

Love the hair. Mine is to long and a lot more gray :scared1: It just cost to much and I won't consider the box again----it pulled out colors I did not know I had lol.

:welcome: Congratulations on the upcoming wedding. How exciting. Where are you honeymooning? Disney?

Get in on the Valentine's Day Challenge. How much weight do you want to lose by then? Aaron (WI disney fan) can add you to the list. He's very clever with a spread sheet. As far as those pics go, I don't think you looked hard enough! Welcome to your new home! Love the talk about stones.

Melinda: The look is so you. I love it. Nice clarity the web cam took. Nice present.

Wendy: I had a totally goofy dream about you last night. Just crazy. No idea why? Maybe I'm in love with you! :rotfl:

Sandy: All packed yet? 3 more sleeps? WOOT WOOT

Aldisneygrl: What about you? I wish I was going. I wish I was ready. I am working toward that. Maybe I can convince my boys to do it with me? Hmmmm?

Dawn: You are such our little party girl. I miss those days.

Hockey Kat: Your workouts totally inspire me.

Bonnie, Twinkie, dlwheat, LMO, Heather, Bee!, Sparkie! hi and take care!

It's 2:30 here, but I am in Central Time Zone. Disney time would be 3:30. Gonna have to adjust to that in the next couple of days. :rotfl2:

I have a question what is a stone? Is that some sort of measurement?

Yes, I am running the 5K on Friday with my daughter who is 9. Sandy321 is running the Half Marathon (she's very nervous, but is going to do fine :thumbsup2 ) and her DH is running the Full. It is a "girls only" trip for me and my DD. I turn 40 this year and wanted to do this in honor of that momentous occasion in my life. :rotfl2: Also, this is the last time that my daughter will be considered a child by Disney. ;)

We have another UKer, DisneyJo, although she hasn't been around here too much recently. :sad2:

I haven't quite figured out the quote thing yet so here goes...

Pigget - thanks for the welcome. One of the random pages I hit on had a picture of your new daughter - what a beauty, congratulations (a little late, sorry!)

Mony - Thanks again. Im now getting excited for the wedding, its been booked for almost 2 years and the time has flown! Sadly no Disney honeymoon. That was our original plan, but due to work and getting time off we couldn't fit it in, so we are going to Egypt and doing a Nile Cruise. Disney is definately 2009, Ive already booked my time off!

Aldisney - What a way to mark your 40th, its definately something you'll remember and some good girl time with your DD.
A stone is a measurement of weight - 14lbs. I dont really know why 14lbs is a stone, but there you go! It always sounds strange to think of losing 'stones' - at our weight watchers meetings when you do lose a stone the leader actually gives you a stone to remind you what you've lost!:rotfl:

WELCOME!!! :cheer2: :cheer2:

This is a really high volume thread, but very all-inclusive and I think you will find a lot of help and support here!!

What weight loss strategy are you considering? Some here do South Beach, some do WW. I am on a restricted calorie plan, try to stay in the 1200-1400 range, with a lot of exercise added in.

By your measurements, I have about 2 stone to lose. Sigh.

Anyone want a 36 yr old "kid" (read: Mr Kat) with a toothache? He is insufferable. I will even take your wee one for the night... give you back massages... cook your dinner... cleaning/laundry is out of the boundary limit though!

I made low-cal chili for dinner... 2 cans diced tomatos, 2 cans black beans, 2 cans tomato sauce, 1 lb 96/4 lean ground beef, 2 cups water, one chopped green pepper, one chopped onion, a few jalapenos, and a packet (in a little brown bag) of chili seasoning. Threw it all in the crock pot to simmer for the day. Total for the entire batch is 2145 calories, so I am figuring about 120-140 calories per cup.

Off to the gym for me, whee!

Hi Kat
Im doing (or will be doing) Weight watchers. It worked for me before, but for some reason the 2nd time round is so much harder! Maybe its me!
The chilli sounds great, enjoy the gym! Seems strange to me with the time difference, its 9pm here and im Dis'ing in my PJ's!

Kelly - I do WW too. When I think of a stone, I visualize a lot of weight. That would be really motivating. We just get little keychains over here. They are nice motivators though.

Oh, and the quoting thing.... you see the little box with the "+" button on it. Click that for every person you want to quote. When your finished, click post reply, and all the quotes will show up in your reply box. You can erase part of what is quoted if you only want to quote part of what someone says. Hope that helps.

Oh and btw, I'm Allie! :wave2:
