DISappearing Peeps...A fastpass to THIN! Part 2

my dad had it back in february 2006. the surgery was on a thursday and he came home from the hospital on a sunday. amazing that his chest was hanging open for the world to see and 4 days later he was at home.
Glad your uncle is doing well. I agree that it is amazing how quickly they can get them home. My mom had her heart valve replaced about five years ago, and within a week she was home and going to rehab every day. Modern medicine is something else.

Mornin' Peeps,

Well, I made my water goal but did not go to the gym last night. Pathetic, I know. It is just such a challenge to leave a toasty house at 9pm, drive to the gym in the cold, kill myself for two hours and then drive home only to be wide awake until 1 or 2 am. Sorry, I am feeling whiney today. The good news..it is Wednesday and the weekend is right around the corner. And, I will make my 3days a week gym visit goal. I will set my Christmas goal at 7lbs. Lofty I know, but I can do it.

I have a good mouse story for you. We bought an artificial tree from Lowes this passed Sunday. Well, we decided to keep it in the box because we want to check out the trees at a garden center where a friend said they have really nice trees in case we want to return the tree from Lowes. Well, while I was getting ready for work yesterday I saw that the corner of the box had a hole in it and the cardboard was shredded and all over my floor. So I looked closer and a mouse came darting out of the hole :scared1:. There was a nest in the box with the tree and now the mouse is loose in my house. My brave, 100lb dogs, saw the little critter and went whimpering up the stairs and hid under the kitchen table. Embarassing, I know.:sad2: So I set out the humane trap this morning in hopes of relocating our furry, new tenent. The tree is sitting outside on our driveway and will be going back to Lowes tonight. The dogs are traumatized and won't go downstairs. Honestly, and they are hunting breeds. Not that we have or will ever partake in that sport but you would think that it would be instinctive.

UM, What a great idea using the pennies. I like visual aids, it seems to make the goals more attainable for some reason.

Punkin, I am glad your Uncle is doing well. My dad had a 4-way bypass in October and is doing remarkably well. He feels so much better than he did before the surgery and has a lot more energy. Heart disease is scary stuff.

Melinda, fun times!! Nothing like having to change wet sheets in the wee hours of the morning. Kid...it is a good thing they are cute :goodvibes.

dwheatl, my hubby swore me to silence when he bought me a vaccuume for my birthday one year :lmao: .

Pakey, I hope you are having a wonderful time in Vegas. I have never been but it is on my list.

Sandy, you have one lucky FDIL. I hope she appreciates her FMIL :)

MonyMony, I never babysat as a kid so I never had any practice before my kids. I hope I don't cause them any permanent scars. It must be great to see Matt all grown up and doing so well and knowing you were such a big part of his life.

alDisneygrl, good deal with your camera.:cool2: Four years ago my DH got me a point-and-click for Christmas. I didn't open the box Christmas morning to play with it but waited until the next day. For whatever reason I was standing in the kitchen when I opened it and I immediately dropped it into the dogs' water bowl. It wasn't waterproof and Dh was not happy. They don't fix that one for free...:confused3

WI_Disneyfan, have fun shopping for your new coat. I loved my Columbia coat but the zipper didn't last very long and gave up the ghost. Maybe because I was wearing it when I was 8 months pregnant. It stood the test of -25 degree weather but not my ballooning belly.

DisneyObsession, :thumbsup2 definitely do both!! Do you think your DH could call my DH and give him some ideas?

Have a great day everyone!!

Kim

Every time someone does some work up there I got to go and fix the phone/internet connection.

I have a box of ornaments that I don't use anymore, most from Hallmark, since all I use are disney ornaments. Hope the kids would like to go through the box when they are older.

Aaron: Doggie is soooo cute.

Ok, DH and I were laying concrete board over the weekend and ripping out the old floor.

I really hurt my knee. If I put any weight on it while kneeling I was in the worst pain I ever felt for about 20 seconds. Burning pain. The kind that comes out of now where. It didn't hurt to do anything else, just to kneel on it. It's just below the knee, my right one and on the right side towards the bottom.

It doesn't hurt to walk, do stairs, every day stuff.

BUT I can feel it when I move. Like yesterday it felt like something flabby was moving in there. Today it's tight like I have to stretch it out. If I squat, it kinda is uncomfortable. More like tingly with a slight pinch.

I've read several of you state you have knee problems. Does this sound like anything any one has experienced?

I'm thinking I tore a muscle. I don't see any swelling. It looks pretty normal on the outside.

Just what I need right now.

I just had a light-bulb moment!

The tread mill is hard to take at long stretches at a time with kids and other demands on my time, so I figured smaller increments of time would be easier. I put 6 pennies on my treadmill and every 10 minutes, I switch over one penny to one of the cup holders. So if I at least switch over 3 pennies, I've achieved my goal...BUT all 6 pennies, all the better!
Great idea Wendy! Sometimes when you break things up it is soo much easier to accomplish..esp with kids tugging at you!

On our engaged encounter weekends, we occasionally come across a couple where one is really controlling about the other one's weight (e.g. In line for lunch, one guy told his fiancee to put something back because he didn't want to "see it on her" ) so DH is sensitive about seeming like he judges me. I know he loves me through thick (waist) and thin. It really takes the pressure off of me in the whole weight control situation. Have I mentioned lately how much I love that man?
HOly crap..if i heard someone say that to their significant other like that i think i would have to restrain myself not to throw something at them..like a chair...so flippen rude!!!
You are totally right, I am very lucky to have my guy too..he is supportive no matter what ..

She's an American Cocker Spaniel. She's a little runt, and has more energy than she knows what to do with. Since the walks help tucker her out a bit, they are as much for our sanity as it is for my health. Here's a picture that's probably a year or so old. She's 3 1/2 now, so I'm guessing this was taken when she was two-ish.

Cute pup!!! :)

Dawn--I hope your uncle is doing well today. Heart surgery scares the beejeezus out of me. :scared1:

Ok just a quoting fly by...I am off to curves..wheee!!!!

Hi Everyone! We're down to 18 days until we leave for Disney World. I can't believe that it is nearly here. Yay! I haven't been on the Dis as much as I would like because I've been really busy with the holidays, nursing classes, preparing for final exam week, shopping for Christmas presents, and getting stuff organized for our trip. Only 2 more weeks of classes before I'm out until mid January. :cool1:

Melinda~I didn't book a CP package because we couldn't agree on where to eat. However, I do plan on getting in line and waiting for a seat no matter how long it takes. :thumbsup2

Good idea. I still haven't been able to go to the gym, stomach thing still in our house. I have been excellent with my 64 oz of water but I have hershey kisses in my house and it's not a good thing. I probably had ten of them already, thank goodness they are gone.

Laura

It doesn't matter you won't be there on Christmas, you're there right? I am not allowed to go back until Nov 2009. DD is only 2 so DH wants us to wait I think he's nuts.
You're absolutely right...I'm going to be there soon...period! :cool1:
We actually swore we would take our DD until she was at least 5, but we went to Six Flags w/ her twice this past year (spring break and summer) and she absolutely LOVED it. Wasn't afraid of any of the characters, loved the rides (the ones she was big enough for), and gave us no problems w/ getting tired. So, we thought "why not?"...the only thing she does NOT like is fireworks! So, that might be out! Bummer!
I hope Nov. 2009 comes quickly for you...and until then you can just have fun planning it!

Thanks for telling me to hit the ENTER key! I feel almost like a professional now.:cool2: It looks much better with everything spaced out nicely.

You're welcome!:)

I leave for Las Vegas tomorrow morning with my DH and parents.
Have fun! I want to go to Vegas so bad...never been!

So, my DH has said we could go back to WDW for our 25th Anniversary next year, but we are also looking at the possibility of an Alakan cruise. Do you think I could do both??? :hippie:
When are they going to wise up and put a Disney park in Alaska? :rotfl: That would solve all your problems!

i hope so! i'm sending it in to have it repaired. she said it takes 7-10 days. so i may be buying a diposable camera for christmas pictures!
Don't they make disposable digital cameras now?

1. my mom just called and my uncle is out of triple bypass open heart surgery. so far, so good. she just went up to see him and he's still asleep with the tube down his throat. everything looks good though!
Hope your uncle has a speedy/full recovery!

2. i got a disney gift card for christmas (remember i got most of my presents at thanksgiving this year) and i've already blown it. here's what i got:

http://disneyshopping.go.com/webapp...&productId=1213129&langId=-1&categoryId=21049

http://disneyshopping.go.com/webapp...ogId=10007&productId=1214301&categoryId=21000

i just LOVE that tote! curiouser and curiouser......:goodvibes
Cute stuff! I  Alice, too!

I just had a light-bulb moment!

This really is a great idea! I may just have to steal it. Since I'm so busy w/ a three-year-old and a newborn, this might just be the perfect solution! Question, can I substitute oreos for pennies and each time I finish 10 minutes I get to eat one? Or does that defeat the purpose?:lmao:

I asked DH for the WW scale for Christmas. He said I couldn't tell anyone if he got it for me, because that would make him seem like the shallowest, most callous husband ever. On our engaged encounter weekends, we occasionally come across a couple where one is really controlling about the other one's weight (e.g. In line for lunch, one guy told his fiancee to put something back because he didn't want to "see it on her" ) so DH is sensitive about seeming like he judges me. He sounds like a sweetie!

Ooh, hope you catch it soon! And, yeah, I think I'd definitely be taking that one back to Lowe's!

Just what I need right now.
I have knee issues, but they're heriditary (sp?). Sounds like you may have just gotten a deep bruise or something from being on the hard ground. Hope it feels better soon!

Well, so far so good on my three goals I set for the week. I've been doing great w/ the water consumption and the no late night snacking! And I've done pretty good on the exercising...I said I'd do it every night, but I didn't make it on the treadmill last night. My DD1 has come down w/ the stomach virus. I had it last week and now it's made it's way back around to her. I'm praying that my DD2 (13-week-old) doesn't get it! That would NOT be fun...for either of us! And hopefully, it'll be over soon for DD1...it only seems to last a couple of days for everyone I know that's had it...myself included.
Plus, WE LEAVE FOR WDW IN 10 DAYS  , so I really need everyone well!!!

Laura

Walk AWAY from the kisses!!!!

Ooooh, the stomach bug! LUCKY! :rolleyes1

First of all, I'm jealous your leaving in 10 days!

Second of all. NO OREOS WONT WORK! ;) Snarky pants!

I think I'm switching to 3 pennys (one penny per 10 minutes) and a nickle, and dime, and a quarter....each of those are BONUS! If I finish up my quarter, I've completed twice my goal....thus becoming Super Woman! Using up all 6 coins = 1 hour! :woohoo:

What a great idea!! You have me thinking about "paying myself to exercise." I think I may do this, but use increments of penny, nickel, dime, quarter, half dollar, dollar. That way if I did 60 minutes everyday for a year, I'd have over $660 -- my that would make a nice vacation fund!!! I know I have plenty of change hanging around that needs a purpose!!

I need a Jack and Coke, really really bad.................

I have this new little boy in my daycare and we are on day 3 of just crying.

I swear I'm gonna hear this in my sleep tonight.

He won't let you hug him. He did cheer up when we went outside, but it's in the low 30's and windy and I can't keep em out all day:rolleyes:

After this week they usually catch on. He's been in daycare before, so I'm hoping for a short adjustment period.

Well I am doing great with my water and meals. I just have to get outside and walk. I wonder if the knee will let me?

Still haven't gotten a new scale though.

They sanded today. Didn't show up yesterday. I have sheets hanging all over to contain the mess. I am sooooooooo tired of major cleaning.

I literally pass out each night I go to bed. Thank goodness the baby is pretty much sleeping through the night. She might wake up once and I put the ninny in her mouth.

Sorry, I know just how you feel. I watched my nephew for 6 weeks and it felt like they were sticking bamboo stickes underneath my nails. He's 7 now but when he was younger he had reflux so he cried constantly. I understand your need for a Jack and a coke.

Wendy I know you are kidding, but I find that just a tad disturbing. Just a tad.

That's ok. It's my kids with the bug not me. Don't think I was kind of wishing it was me. No that's disturbing.:scared:

Laura

Oh and the kisses are gone UtahMama - I only ate a handful, three today and a handful yesterday. The kids ate most of them. It was a bag. I bought two small bags because I put them in the kids goodie bags from DD's birthday party and like a idiot I kept one. I should of put them in the goodie bags but I didn't do as bad as I could have. No more for me. Now off to drink so water and something for lunch.

Yep, I have this DVD. The music is a little new-agey, and the voice of the guy walking you through the exercises reminds me of Bob Ross (that painter with the afro and beard who talked very quietly and painted "happy little trees"). There are two chapters of meditations (which I never do), and three chapters of exercises. You can do any or all of the chapters and get a good workout. Obviously, the more you do the more exercise you'll get. The first and third chapters are enjoyable, but the second chapter is a killer (for me, at least). It really works on flexibility, which is a major downfall of mine. A few of the "poses" are quite challenging, and one or two I can't do because I've got bad knees. If you search for Yoga on Amazon (I just looked in the DVD section), there are a few others that might also interest you. There is a Yoga for beginners that I probably would have purchased if my friend hadn't told me to get this one instead. I would have preferred to ease into it since I'm not as young as I used to be. But I started off just doing the 1st chapter for a week or two, then I did about 1/2 of the 2nd chapter, and I've finally worked my way up to doing all three. So I guess in a way I did ease into it. I can give you a little better explanation if you need one; sometimes my words get a little jumbled when I'm typing and I end up not explaining things as clearly as I would like.

Thanks for the info! I'll have to ask for this for Christmas!

wow!!! i say do both. you only live once! :goodvibes

i hope so! i'm sending it in to have it repaired. she said it takes 7-10 days. so i may be buying a diposable camera for christmas pictures! it's still under warranty. although it has a couple of dings in it so i'm not sure they'll cover it under warranty since i can't prove i didn't drop it. we'll see!

two things:

1. my mom just called and my uncle is out of triple bypass open heart surgery. so far, so good. she just went up to see him and he's still asleep with the tube down his throat. everything looks good though!

2. i got a disney gift card for christmas (remember i got most of my presents at thanksgiving this year) and i've already blown it. here's what i got:

i just LOVE that tote! curiouser and curiouser......:goodvibes

I'd really  to do both, but it's a matter of how much can we afford?!? i need to decide soon and set a date, as DH needs to put his vacation time in by the 1st of the year.

Also, the Alice stuff is adorable! Enjoy It!!!

I just had a light-bulb moment!

I put 6 pennies on my treadmill and every 10 minutes, I switch over one penny to one of the cup holders. Sounds like a great idea! I think I am going to open up my treadmill and keep it that way as much as possible. I am hoping that will get me on it more.

I think of WDW as a requirement each year rather than a vacation. It's like getting an annual physical--mandatory for health reasons.

I'm with you! Go to WDW is a total mental-health thing!!! :hippie:

Callanetics kicked my butt again! :cool1:

I can't believe how much muscle it takes to do some of these exercises. I used to do these many years ago, and OI! can I tell my body has changed! Anyone else ever used Callanetics exercises?

Hey PUNKIN413, can you post (or repost, if I missed it) the link to your expo reviews? I'll check out your reviews! Hope you get the camera back asap for the holidays, if not, you could always give a review on the disposable...

QUick fly by top say hello. I'm doing good on 2 of my 3 goals. Doing fine on water and calories, but I've worked all day and then had night meetings for work the last 2 nights and have just been to exhausted to even look at the elliptical let alone get on the thing! Tonight I should have plenty of time to exercise. I'm thinking I might have to do something else for exercise for the next month tho. I got the elliptical last January and can't fit it and a Christmas tree in my family room. I'm kinda thinking the kids will not go for skipping a tree this year and just decorating the exercise machine!:rotfl:

I'm thinking I tore a muscle. I don't see any swelling. It looks pretty normal on the outside.

i tore a ligament in my knee playing soccer when i was a kid. i don't remember much about the details of the pain. it sounds to me like you need to at least have it looked at though. get to a doctor and take care of yourself soon.....all the remodeling/mommying you're doing right now will make it worse if something's wrong!

Hi Everyone! We're down to 18 days until we leave for Disney World.

awesome!!! i'm so excited for you!

You're absolutely right...I'm going to be there soon...period! :cool1:

i want to go in early december sometime soon so we can experience the christmas "feeling" there. i know it's not for actual christmas, but i don't think that'll ever happen for me. i don't do well with big crowds and i know i wouldn't enjoy myself as much during their busiest time of the year!

...the only thing she does NOT like is fireworks! So, that might be out! Bummer!

is it the noise she's scared of? my best friend's little boy likes to watch them but doesn't like the "booming", so when they were here for the 4th of july i let him put on my headphones that i use for work. after that he was fine. just an idea for you!

Don't they make disposable digital cameras now?

i think so.....haven't bought one in so long i'm not sure! ray sent mine off for me today by fedex so hopefully i'll get it back before christmas!
[/QUOTE]

I need a Jack and Coke, really really bad.................

good luck with that! :scared:

She might wake up once and I put the ninny in her mouth.

is ninny your word for pacifire (sp?) or your knockers? just curious. my friend anna's little boy calls her tatas "ninnies" because that was sort of his comfort when he was younger (she nursed him for probably longer than she should've!) and one day we were eating lunch and he looks at me and goes, "dawn, i like your ninnies." :lmao: SO FUNNY!!!!!

Hey PUNKIN413, can you post (or repost, if I missed it) the link to your expo reviews? I'll check out your reviews! Hope you get the camera back asap for the holidays, if not, you could always give a review on the disposable...

sure! here you go. i need to do some more but just haven't had time. if i don't get any done today i'm gonna try to do some tomorrow or friday.

http://www.expotv.com/profile/home/punkin0413

i did a new cardio class today called "cardio sting." and let me tell you.....IT STUNG!!!! it's just a bunch of different cardio things done back to back without breaks in between and you do the whole entire thing 3 times. i was soooooooooo exhausted when i got done. :thumbsup2

Dawn - I hope you get that camera back before Christmas! Sending pixiedust your way on that! And...LOVE the Alice items! I actually asked for the long-sleeved T-shirt for Christmas. I also asked for the two Pirates of the Carribbean thermal henleys and the Alice sweater hoodie. DH keeps asking for more ideas and says he doesn't know what he wants to get me. :confused3 Get me something off the list you had me give you!

Wendy - Great idea with the coins! I want to set up some type of reward system for myself, but I can't decide how I want to do it. I want to do rewards for achieving certain goals, but I haven't yet decided what the goals or rewards should be. I am thinking I should wait until after Christmas to see what I actually end up getting.

Majic - I've used Callanetics before. It is WICKED hard...which must mean it's effective. I never did it long enough to really notice a difference visually but I certainly felt stronger! My stepmother (who I don't really like!) used it between husbands to slim down and lose weight. Must have worked - she was a size 8 when she married my Dad. She's gained a lot of weight since then. Maybe I'll get out the old tape and try it again.

Wendy - I love the coin idea too! I might use something else, so that no small children eat my money, but the smaller increments is the only way I can do it unless I exercise after the kids are in bed.

I heard today that my sister-in-law "looks great" and I got all jealous...we're holding the big family gathering here on New Year's Day, and I want to look at least as good as she does, right? :0 Now you all know my true colors! But then again, I'll take whatever motivation I can get!

Happy Wednesday!
