I hope everyone is happy and healthy. The weekend is almost here:cheer2:.

On the mouse front (the furry brown kind, not the cute one in Orlando), I have not caught him yet. I just hope he was a bachelor and did not move his family in as well. The dogs are over the trauma and ventured downstairs last night and were sniffing around. These are the same fearless idiots that were scared of a baby squirrel that got into our house last year. :sad2: We named that wayward critter Darwin and gave him to a rehabber. We also had a cat get in bed with us once. We don't own a cat and have NO idea how it got inside. The cat freaked out when it saw the dogs and hid under the bed. The dogs freaked out and jumped in bed with us and shook. Pathetic... What is with us and all of these lost critters wondering into our house?! An injured bird landed on my head one morning when I was putting the baby in the car. That was another trip to the rehabber. Maybe I am related to Snow White:confused3

MonyMony, How is your knee? I injured mine earlier this year when I started running and ice really helped take the edge off even a few weeks after the initial injury. I hope you are feeling better soon and that the cryer has settled down. It is good you are going to see a doctor. Keep us posted.

Cheers,
Kim

Thanks Kim. For the well wishes and the belly laugh. You are hilarious! I laughed so hard at your critter stories. Now I will thnk of you as snowwhite.

I skipped the Jack yesteday, but had a coke to fight the head ache. I was one cranky mamma last night. My poor kiddos.

At drop off today the dad said, I can't take this anymore and said i'm outta here and left the cryer crying. He just cried and cried.

I did notice something. DH is home today and the cryer took to him and actually ate today from DH's encouragement. Maybe he likes men.
His mom, I was told is usually MIA. But she does pick him up from daycare.

Just sounds like the kid has been through a lot. I hope to give him comfort and stability and something he can count on.

Hey Wendy: I posted somewhere else that Tim got his new market list. They gave him 10 markets and Salt Lake City is one of them. Isn't that just funny?

Kim...Still trying to make up our minds, but we are leaning towards the Alaskan Cruise. Thought we would do something we had not done before since this is our 25th Anniversary. I'll keep you posted.

Monica...I hope the knee feels better. I've only had trouble with my ankles and ice always helped it feel better. As for your cryer, maybe your husband being there today helps him realize your house isn't such a bad place and he'll start to relax a little. Good Luck!

Wendy...A mint Three Muskateers?!? That just sounds heavenly!!!! :cloud9:

Weather is cr@ppy here...windy, rain/snow mix and just plain dreary! Sunny Orlando sounds really good right about now! Anyone want to join me?!?

Oh and to answer when i will be in wdw..we leave SUPER EARLY on Dec. 6 and come back on Dec. 10..a 4 nighter..i wish it could be more but since we are totally splurging on the GF, and in SugarLoaf no less.. i will take what i can get...!

the GF? i'm so jealous right now!

Punkin, how are your injuries? Man that must have hurt! I hope that elbow is just bruised. Joint injuries are tough to heal. I broke both of my elbows at the same time while inline skating. What a humbling experience, I couldn't even feed myself. My DH is a Saint. He did everything, and I do mean everything for me. :rolleyes1

i'm better than i thought i'd be. my arm isn't bad....now it's my hips that are hurting. i guess where i jarred them so hard when i landed. and i have a huge bruise on the right side of my leg. considering i landed on the left side.....just wierd.

:rotfl: your husband is a saint! my boss's DS14 broke his collarbone the other day and she had to bathe him a couple of nights ago. she said it was a very odd experience! :lmao:

i had to buy new tires and get my car aligned today and i've been waiting on them to call me since 11:30. it's now 4:00. i could've put 4 tires on faster than that!!!!!

Uh Ohhhh,

Three Muskateers bars has a new fluffy mint version.

And it's absolutely yummy. I took the bullet for everyone here and tasted it FOR you. So you don't have to. Ohhhhh :cloud9:

:rolleyes1 OY! It's not one of my goals, unless it's after 8pm. :cool2:

Oh, but I would love to try one. Three Muskateers are my fav.

:wave2:

Laura, has your family recovered from the stomach bug yet? I would rather deal with a cold that lasts for weeks on end than a stomach bug of any duration. I feel for you. On a different subject, we took our boys to WDW last November when they were 8 months and 2 years and they did really well.
Kim

Too funny about the critter's. We've had a bird in the fireplace a couple of years ago, no it wasn't lit. DS does not have the bug anymore, finally went to school today:banana: DD on the other hand had a yucky diaper this morning but nothing since and she's been eating everything in site. Hopefully no more poops and we can go to the mall tomorrow, I have to get out. I belong to a mom's group that meets at the mall every other friday and have lunch so I hope DD is better so we can chat a little.

Poor baby, he probably misses his mama. I agree, give him lots of hugs and make him feel at home at your house. Yeah on the cruise too, I heard Alaska is beautiful. Oh and I'm packing for Orlando as we speak:lmao: , yucky here too.

:wave2:
MAPigletfan, Wow, the GF at Christmas...you are going to have such a wonderful time. Just thinking abut it, I can almost taste that gingerbread. How did it go at the gun range? I hope you returned without any extra holes.
Kim

Thanks! I can't wait...its been a dream of mine to go to WDW for the holidays for a long time now...
I am happy to report that I did not return from the range with extra holes..it was actually really fun..I didn't do too badly. I mostly shot an old WWII rifle so it wasn't too intimidating..but Greg was shooting the LOUD scary stuff. I think I will stick to knitting as my main hobby though

the GF? i'm so jealous right now!

i had to buy new tires and get my car aligned today and i've been waiting on them to call me since 11:30. it's now 4:00. i could've put 4 tires on faster than that!!!!!

Mommy, Piglet, Majic:I love going to Disney this time of year. I went last year right at Thanksgiving. We had a ball. Read my TR or at least look at the pics.
Oh, great! Another TR that I'm sure I'll become addicted to...off to check it out!

Hey Everyone :)
Oh and to answer when i will be in wdw..we leave SUPER EARLY on Dec. 6 and come back on Dec. 10..a 4 nighter..i wish it could be more but since we are totally splurging on the GF, and in SugarLoaf no less.. i will take what i can get...!
Ooh, I'd love to stay in the GF...but there's 5 of us (me, DH, DD, and the ILs) going and we needed a condo-style place...so, we're staying at OKW.
Oh, and I meant to say on my last post to look for a WILD three-year-old little girl...not a WHILE three-year-old. Doh!

MrnsMommy, how is your DD? It sounds like the stomach bug is making its rounds :scared1: I am sending you pixiedust: for good health.
Your pixiedust: must've helped b/c she's doing much better now...thanks for asking! She woke up this morning w/ the pukies, but was feeling almost 100% by the tijme she went to sleep tonight.
Only problem is that now I think I am getting it again...a never ending cycle! :sad2:
Just sounds like the kid has been through a lot. I hope to give him comfort and stability and something he can count on.
Aww...poor little guy! Hope he comes around soon!

Well, as I said above, I think I'm getting this bug again. We just keep passing it around our house! Ugh! Some how, some way, we've got to get all of this gone before next week! Good news is that it's given me a boost w/ the weight loss!

KIM!!!! Your dogs need therapy or prozac or something! HOW funny they come from wolves and are predators!!!! :3dglasses Your story cracked me up!!!! What breed are they, dare I ask?

Thank you for saving me from myself :thumbsup2
No problemo!

Hey Wendy: I posted somewhere else that Tim got his new market list. They gave him 10 markets and Salt Lake City is one of them. Isn't that just funny?
Maybe you should join him, Huh????

Wendy...A mint Three Muskateers?!? That just sounds heavenly!!!! :cloud9:
It is! But it requires like 30 minutes on the tread mill as punishment for eating it!:sad1:

Well is anybody gonna show today and work on my kitchen? Is the contractor gonna make an appearance at all this week? This has been a frustrating week let me tell you. At least Tim and I finished laying the concrete board in our hall way/foyer last night. We still have to do the laudry room, but that is loaded with all the stuff I couldn't fit into the other rooms.

I need the laundry fairy to visit my house. Please come and do my laundry, (crossing fingers shutting eyes real tight like I used to do when I was little) I used to be little? Just XXL over here.

Is this a boy thing or do girls do this too?

My DS1 would take 3 hours to get ready for school if he could.
His showers have to be taken with me barking at him every step of the way. If I give him some leeway I'll catch him just standing with the water beating at his back. He thinks his two fingers can wash his over grown hair he refuses to let me cut.

He insists on standing on the bath mat and drip dry. I tell him every day to rub the towel on his body to dry off. Otherwise, he just stands there while the clocks ticks by.
He wastes so much time by 7 he is running around to get out of the house to catch the bus. Then it's round 2 with DS2. But not so bad. The one beef I have with him is he lets the water run from the spout waiting for it to get warm. All he has to do is turn the handles to adjust. He has let it run for 10 minutes once cause I got distracted.

This morning I woke him up 10 minutes early. Not helping, I just lost it with him again. Oh Joy!

GOOOOOOOOD MORNING, EVERYONE! :sunny:

It's another make 30 quiches Friday for ole Melindee.

Gotta go to Sam's Club as soon as I get everybody out the door.

Monica...I have the same kid only in girl-form. She would shower for 3 hours! She's getting better now because she has to save time for hair and makeup!

Punkin.....Ouch! Glad you are OK! It's winter so big bruises don't have to show. ;) I couldn't resist a mimosa either but I can pass on red velvet cake all day long.

Laura
....You just reminded me how much I do not miss changing diapers. Thank you! ;)

Gina....Are you and DBF engaged? 4 nights at the GF sugarload? Near Christmas? Hmmmmm.....sounds suspicious to me. :)

OK....gotta hop in the shower.

HAVE A GREAT DAY!!!

MonyMony3471: Air drying???What is he thinking?:rotfl: You could be describing my kids! Well, really just my daughter. EVERYTHING is a potential battle. :headache: This morning it was clothes...she would wear all black, everyday, if I let her. So, as the person buying her clothes, I make sure to get some color in there. Not crazy or anything, just not plain black. (She tries to embrace this "emo" culture TO much, anyone else have teenagers, or is this like a foreign language? I wish I knew less about it, believe me) so for the past 3 days it's been black pants...which she only has 2 pairs of. I've been telling (nagging, I'll admit it) her to WEAR OTHER CLOTHES! She has clothes that still have the tags on them. Clothes that she has only worn one time, probably just to keep me quiet...clothes SHE picked out and chooses not to wear, so it's not like I'm buying the "wrong" thing. Believe me, I've learned not to just buy something that I think is cute for her. So this morning it went from the overworn black pants to the dark gray jeans with a big hole in the knee (not by design, AND that I told her the last time she wore them are only play clothes now) to finally a pair of jeans. I didn't care WHICH pair of jeans, just not the same black pants or the worn out gray ones. I honestly think she does it on purpose. I can see her in her closet, staring at her clothes with a manical look in her eyes, thinking, "Yes yes, My Preeeecious, what can I wear Toooday to thwart the Eeeevil Queen...MUH HA HA " grinning with evil glee as she rubs her hands together.

OK! Anyway, I feel better now. That book got it wrong, men aren't from Mars,TEENAGERS ARE. I love my kids.

:lmao: well, i lost the battle. but not a huge defeat. i only ate about 2 bites and of course the icing. who can resist icing?????? anyway, i felt obligated. everyone was ooohhhhing and aaawwwwing over the cake and i felt rude to say, "no, thank you." so i just took a couple of bites and then snuck to the trash can. was that rude?

i had 2 mimosas. but it's just champagne and orange juice.......good for you, right? :rolleyes1

i also won a prize because i was able to dig things out of my purse faster than anyone else. probably because i don't have any kids yet and therefore my purse is relatively small compared to the small suitcases everyone else had! :rotfl2:

Is this a boy thing or do girls do this too?

wow! good luck with that. i never gave my mom problems with running late as long as she told me when we were leaving. in high school i used to need an hour and a half's notice. now i can be ready in 20 minutes!

It's another make 30 quiches Friday for ole Melindee.

i guess i missed this. why in the world do you have to make 30 quiches??? ugh....just the thought makes me run to the bathroom! :lmao: okay....maybe that was TMI!

i'm a samer today, which is actually a good thing because it means that i lost the pound i gained over thanksgiving (i weighed myself for last week the wednesday before TG). which means i achieved 2 out of 3 of my goals! :thumbsup2 like i said, i had no choice on the mexican food for lunch yesterday. besides, the place we always go to has a "diet salad." it's just lettuce, chicken, mushrooms, onions and tomatoes. i poor salsa over it. what kills me is the chips and salsa though!

aaron - i think you guys are doing a christmas challenge??? if so, put me down for 2 pounds. i'm at 132 right now......2 pounds away from my goal. and i'm sick of not being able to reach 130, so doggone it, i'm gonna do it by christmas!

off to work. have a good friday everyone! :flower3:

Well, whaddya know, the 3 goals worked! I lost 2 pounds this week to put me at my lowest ever adult weight of 177.2. The loss gives me a grand total weight loss of 38.8 pounds lost since the start of the year, and an uber-grand total weight loss of 62.8 pounds lost since April 2005. I am now 2.2 pounds from my Christmas goal (which I may need to increase a bit depending on how quickly I can lose those 2.2 pounds), and 22.2 pounds from my ultimate goal weight of 155.

I'm thinking I'll be keeping these three goals (no mindless nibbling, no extra helpings of supper, Yoga/Pilate's every night), because they are really the three things holding me back from having this kind of success every week.

I'll post an update of our Christmas goals sometime this afternoon.

Happy weigh-ins everyone!

MAPigletfan Yes I think that 150 calories is definately worth it too

UtahMama :lmao: that you are going dive to get it out of my mouth thanks:thumbsup2, that's a support team I tell ya

Monymony3471
- :wizard: Here's your laundary fairy and when she's done at our house, send her to mine; My brother was like that in the shower too, he would stand against the wall and let the water miss him totally for 30 minutes and then who ever wanted a shower after him had to wait for the water to get hot again; how old are your sons?; mine are 8 and 6 and I don't have that problem yet, the problem is getting them in

lexmelinda - I'm kind of sad she's almost out of diapers, that means no more babies for me:sad1: ; DH has a vas so no more here; I will admit I don't like to change diapers of sick babies though

Punkin413 Two bites is better than the whole cake:thumbsup2 ; yeah for you for winning the prize, whatcha' get, yeah for staying the same too

I can't do my weigh in today because I had to miss WW this tuesday because of sicks kids:sick:, I really wanted to go to because my rings felt really loose on my finger.

Have a nice day everyone.:)

I am down .5 lbs! (Better than nothing!) :confused3
I didn't stick to my 3 goals, so I will be doing the same ones for the next week. (water, exercise, no sweets!)

Dawn...Mimosa's are my favorite! I always have those New Years Day with breakfast! MMMMMMMMMMM! :hippie:

Going on a date with DH tonight to see "Enchanted". I can't wait!!!

QUOTEABC 4 News is sounding the alarm about a teen phenomenon sweeping the nation. Its something we found most teens know about, but few parents had any clue of. Its called "emo" culture.

"Emo" is an abbreviation for emotional. Part punk, part goth, emo kids celebrate sadness and pain. Psychologist Judith Zimmerman tells ABC 4 News, Part of the guiding philosophy of emo kids is pain. That's the sub-current.

Our news team began their study of emo culture on the internet, where we quickly found hundreds of sites dedicated to teaching kids what emo is and how to be it. One site instructs, dye your hair black. Style it in the gunshot wound and never be happy.

Happiness is a sin to emo culture. In a state where the number two cause of teen death is suicide, experts say parents need to know emo culture and understand it.

Not every child who looks emo may be in to cutting themselves, dark poetry or talk of suicide, says psychologist Judith Zimmerman. Some of these kids may just be in a phase. Its important to tell the difference between a fashion statement and a commitment to a lifestyle. Parents need to understand the deeper meanings of why their child might be drawn to emo culture. END QUOTE

DISNEYLAURA: I don't know what to say about this, I googled "emo culture" to help me explain it, and found this right away. Hits the nail on the head. My husband was watching "Family Guy" the other day (I was cooking dinner, don't watch much TV, TO much internet!) I overheard the mom on the show saying to her teen daughter,"what do you do, compulsive eat alot of food to get over bad feelings?" Daughter says," No mom! Eating makes you fat, I just cut myself!"
This just made me so...madsadoutragedanddisgusted. If your not going through it maybe it's funny...I don't know.... TMI I guess....sorry :sad1:

It's Friday!!   :dance3:

Well, we finally returned our Christmas tree covered in mouse pee, and exchanged it for one that is pristine and without all the added aromas compliments of our stowaway, who by the way, is still loose somewhere in our house. :scared1: We finally fell into some luck and the tree is now on sale so they gave us $80 back for the exchanged tree. That never happens. My opinion of Lowes is slowly improving. However, I still LOATHE Home Depot.

Monica, how is the little boy doing today? I feel sorry for him but can't imagine how hard that would be to deal with everyday all day. I would need a drink too. Sometimes I want a drink after I have put my own to bed. They usually cure me of wanting to try for a third :scared: I hope that laundry fairy shows up if he does send him my way when you are done. Good luck with the contractors.

Disney Obsession, I am with you on heading to sunny orlando :cool2: . It hasn't snowed yet but it is chilly. We are expecting our irst round of winter weather on Sunday. I don't mind the snow it is the ice and freezing rain that I hate.

Dawn, did you cave and have the cake? I am so weak, I had Dove milk chocolate squares in my office for my visitors and already ate 3 of them this morning.:headache: What was I thinking...?

Laura, I hope you make it out of the house today. I got super stir crazy while I was on maternity leave but at the time was too scared to take a newborn out by myself. I know, I am, I mean was, a total wuss. I hope your DD is healthy today.

MaPigletfan, good to hear you didn't shoot your eye out. :) You are going to love WDW this time of year. We were there the week after thanksgiving in 2006 and it was absolutely beautiful!! I highly recommend liberal use of hand sanitizer. Both my children got the Norwalk virus and were told it is not uncommon because of so many people in one area and all the buffets. I am sure it didn't help that my oldest licked the table leg at Hollywood and Vine. :scared1: :confused3 I have no idea why...

MRNsMonmmy, how are you feeling today? I h ope you avoided the dreaded re-infect. Kids are like giant petri dishes. It's amazing us moms aren't sick all of the time.

UM, I have a Chesapeake Retriever and a Koon Hound/Australian Shepherd mix. They are both female and dumb as two bags of rocks. I love them but only I could. The retriever actually was on doggy Prozac once for separation anxiety. Then she OD'ed on them when she grabbed the bottle off the counter and ate the entire thing. I wasn't home at the time and found the bottle chewed to bits when I got home. I had to pour peroxide down her throat to make her puke. I was chasing her around the yard in the snow to do this and then she didn't throw up until I put her in my car to take her to the vet. See, only I could love these animals. I also have two birds, one of which is on drugs 2X a day for epilepsy...:sad2:

Melinda, good luck with those quiches...30?...uggghhh! I don't cook so I can only imagine how difficult that would be.

BTW, I am down 1 pound!!! :cheer2:

Have a good Friday All.

Kim

So I am not alone with the older kids driving us crazy. No wonder I found my first grey hairs this month. My boys are 11 and 9.

Ok looks like I'm getting tile today. But we are more squished. The kitchen will be off limits for at least a week.

That is my living room at the moment. Behind where I was standing is this.

Here's the progress so far: This is the kitchen before we took anything out. Messy I know. I moved the TV over so we can put up the tree tonight. I have boxes and baskets everywhere!
