Aaron...You can put me down for 5 lbs by Christmas as well. I can do it and if I get more off by then...all the better!!!!

Wendy...I  the 3 Goal idea! Here are mine...
1) Drink 64oz water daily
2) Excercise 30 min 3x's this week
3) No sweets all week. (chocolate and any other carb-laden sweet!)

OK, so the only goal I have been doing OK on is the water!!! I intended to not eat any sweets all week, but THIS has been calling to me!

My SIL, my Mom, my DD and even my grandson tried to eat this and I wouldn't let them! This is my "last taste of Disney" for awhile, so I had to have it all to myself! And I did!!!!!

MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!! ;)

That's what my wife suggested too. I probably would have headed there in the next week or two, but I went to Kohl's last night and I found a coat that I liked. The Columbia coats that Kohl's sells just don't seem like they'd be warm enough, especially if I was going to be spending $130 on one. I found a different brand there (Free Country) that also makes the 3-in-1 type coats, but these seemed thicker and much warmer than the Columbias that I was trying on. Plus, they were 50% off, so I got it for $75 (thanks again for the heads up aldisneygrl!). And, my wife got a 15% off coupon in the mail last week so I got it for a little under $65. I'm keeping my heavy wool coat that I wear to work every day, but I wanted a less formal, shorter yet still warm coat for bumming around at night or on the weekends, and hopefully this one will accomplish that.

Glad to do it! Sounds like you got you a good warm coat and a good deal! :thumbsup2 I have one of those 15% off coupons burnin' a hole in my wallet. Just haven't had time to go spend it yet. :sad1:

I have a good mouse story for you. We bought an artificial tree from Lowes this passed Sunday. Well, we decided to keep it in the box because we want to check out the trees at a garden center where a friend said they have really nice trees in case we want to return the tree from Lowes. Well, while I was getting ready for work yesterday I saw that the corner of the box had a hole in it and the cardboard was shredded and all over my floor. So I looked closer and a mouse came darting out of the hole :scared1:. There was a nest in the box with the tree and now the mouse is loose in my house. My brave, 100lb dogs, saw the little critter and went whimpering up the stairs and hid under the kitchen table. Embarassing, I know.:sad2: So I set out the humane trap this morning in hopes of relocating our furry, new tenent. The tree is sitting outside on our driveway and will be going back to Lowes tonight. The dogs are traumatized and won't go downstairs. Honestly, and they are hunting breeds. Not that we have or will ever partake in that sport but you would think that it would be instinctive.

Love that story! I think that is the way Shadow would be with a mouse! Now Trixie on the other hand. She would bark at it until it left because of all the noise! :lmao:

alDisneygrl, good deal with your camera.:cool2: Four years ago my DH got me a point-and-click for Christmas. I didn't open the box Christmas morning to play with it but waited until the next day. For whatever reason I was standing in the kitchen when I opened it and I immediately dropped it into the dogs' water bowl. It wasn't waterproof and Dh was not happy. They don't fix that one for free...:confused3

Well I got a package today, and GUESS WHAT???? It was a NEW (well refurbished, but new to me) CAMERA!!!:cheer2: Canon was unable to get repair parts for my other camera, so they sent me a new and better one! My husband is excited! He says it is better than our other one. Now I just have to learn how to use it by January. :rolleyes1 Lynda, could you come to AL and help me? ;)

I really hurt my knee. If I put any weight on it while kneeling I was in the worst pain I ever felt for about 20 seconds. Burning pain. The kind that comes out of now where. It didn't hurt to do anything else, just to kneel on it. It's just below the knee, my right one and on the right side towards the bottom.

It doesn't hurt to walk, do stairs, every day stuff.

BUT I can feel it when I move. Like yesterday it felt like something flabby was moving in there. Today it's tight like I have to stretch it out. If I squat, it kinda is uncomfortable. More like tingly with a slight pinch.

I've read several of you state you have knee problems. Does this sound like anything any one has experienced?

I'm thinking I tore a muscle. I don't see any swelling. It looks pretty normal on the outside.

Just what I need right now.

Monica I am going to the Ortho. Dr. tomorrow about my knee. It has been a month since my son's former hockey coach fell on it. :headache: It just doesn't feel right. No real pain, just feels weak, and sometimes there is pain. Rest your knee, and maybe use some ice (I froze water in a water bottle, and rubbed in on my knee), and see how it feels. If it doesn't get better soon, or starts to hurt more, go see the Doc.

HAHHAH I love it!

Hey! Me to Me to! I am impatiently counting down the days! 8 more days for us to!!!! That is if you count today, which is really almost over, so, in one week, and one little bit of a day, we'll be walkin' around DISNEY! My family thinks I am a little nuts :hyper: , the only one who is excited with me is DS7- soon to be DS8. He is my co-conspirator, always willing to feed my Disney addiction. "Mom, what is your favorite ride in MGM? In Epcot? In Magic Kingdom? In Animal Kingdom?" Of course my answers don't change, he just wants to get me going!

MAPIGLETFAN: Lucky for you on the Grand Floridian! I'll bet it will be BEAUTIFUL! :goodvibes

First of all, I'm jealous your leaving in 10 days!

Second of all. NO OREOS WONT WORK! ;) Snarky pants!
You're right! I probably shouldn't do the oreos since I'm sure I'll be stuffing my face at WDW! We're doing the dining plan for the first time, so I'm sure I'll gain at least 20 lbs. while we're there!:scared1:

What a great idea!! You have me thinking about "paying myself to exercise." I think I may do this, but use increments of penny, nickel, dime, quarter, half dollar, dollar. That way if I did 60 minutes everyday for a year, I'd have over $660 -- my that would make a nice vacation fund!!! I know I have plenty of change hanging around that needs a purpose!!
I like this plan!!!

I'm kinda thinking the kids will not go for skipping a tree this year and just decorating the exercise machine!:rotfl:
:lmao: Put enough presents under it and I doubt they'll care! ha!

i want to go in early december sometime soon so we can experience the christmas "feeling" there. i know it's not for actual christmas, but i don't think that'll ever happen for me. i don't do well with big crowds and i know i wouldn't enjoy myself as much during their busiest time of the year!
I'm the same way...I actually have a little bit of an anxiety issue. It used to be a BIG issue, but I've since gotten it pretty well under control. But with really big crowds, I still sometimes feel like the walls are closing in on me...or you know that commercial where the spotlight is on the little bouncy guy (that's how I really feel sometimes).
And I just had a friend who got back from spending TG there. From what she said, I won't be going then either!

is it the noise she's scared of? my best friend's little boy likes to watch them but doesn't like the "booming", so when they were here for the 4th of july i let him put on my headphones that i use for work. after that he was fine. just an idea for you!
Yeah, it's definitely the noise. I did think about taking some ear plugs, but couldn't find any little ones. I'll definitely give the headphones or ear muffs a try!

i busted my a** today!!!!! hard!!!!! i was getting the mail in my sock feet and misjudged where the curb meets the street and.....boom.......right on my toosh. it HURT. i landed sort of on my left elbow/forearm. i heard something pop but it's not broken because i can move it (and i'm typing with it right now). but i realize that tomorrow morning i'm gonna be sooooooooooooooo sore. anna says to keep a watch on it in case i did something wierd to my joint. it hurts so bad right now.....i can't even lean on it which i tend to do a lot. i'm going to a christmas party saturday night where i was gonna wear a short sleeve blazer.......those will be some pretty pictures! :sad2:

OUCH!:scared1: Hope it doesn't bruise too bad!

Hey! Me to Me to! I am impatiently counting down the days! 8 more days for us to!!!!

What are y'all's dates? Maybe we'll bump into each other! Just look for a while three-year-old little girl w/ me!

Ok, DH and I were laying concrete board over the weekend and ripping out the old floor.

BUT I can feel it when I move. Like yesterday it felt like something flabby was moving in there. Today it's tight like I have to stretch it out. If I squat, tit kinda is uncomfortable. More like tingly with a slight pinch.

I'm thinking I tore a muscle. I don't see any swelling. It looks pretty normal on the outside.

Just what I need right now.

Oh, Monica. I try to tell everyone I know who gets pregnant, WATCH YOUR KNEES! When DS was new, I knelt on the bed to pick him up. I tore something in my knee, and when I talked to my OB/Gyn, he said that the hormones we put out around childbirth loosen all the ligaments so the pelvis can open to let the baby out (couldn't someone have told me before DS was born?). That means all of your joints are fragile.
Here's what helps my knee (sadly, it still acts up sometimes): Wear good, supportive shoes. Keep your weight in control. And do some front of the leg exercises to keep the muscles around the knee strong. The best one I know of is sitting in a chair and straightening your leg in front of you. I sometimes use the machine at the gym where you do this with a weighted bar that sits just above the foot. Good luck.

Woo Hoo for Magic and Mommy on their upcoming WDW trips. I know the resort will be holiday beautiful.

GOOD MORNING! :sunny:

YAY to MRNs and Fran!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Christmas at Disney must be the most magical experience! :santa:

Just wanted to stop in so's you won't worry.

I do not have any goals and have been eating like a pig.

I'm sure I'll be rejoining this thread in the real, weight-loss sense sometime after Christmas.

Everybody have a great day!

Punkin: Ouch! I hope your bottom and elbow are ok today.

Mommy, Piglet, Majic:I love going to Disney this time of year. I went last year right at Thanksgiving. We had a ball. Read my TR or at least look at the pics.

Gayle: You are so funny. Those bars are the bomb!

dwheatl: I know about the ligiment thing while you are pregnant, just didn't know 3 months later that would still be an issue.

Usually I have my tree up already. Unless I put one up in the basement, I have no room for one. This is ridiculous. They better be done with my kitchen after the cabinets come in. I have to put up a tree.

aldisneygrl: With not having any pain, I never thought to ice my knee. It's not too late to be effective is it?

Ok, hope everyone has a great Thursday. My mom popped in last night and delivered Turkey soup and meatballs. I think because my kitchen is non exsistent. Isn't she sweet?

Monica - I think you would be fine to ice it now. I didn't get that advice until a week after I hurt mine. My co teacher at church told me that it is never too late to ice. I'll post this afternoon what the doc says about my knee.

Morning Peepers! :) Hope everyone has a great pre-weigh-in day! Eat your fiber! ;)

Monica - Be careful with that knee! I also don't think it's ever to late to ice. I hope it feels better soon! And I SO wish we were back at WDW like last year too! It was such a great time to go. :goodvibes I wanna go in September AND December next year! Don't think I can swing that one.

I've been doing well with my goals. I walked 30 mintues at lunch on Monday and rode the bike for 46-ish minutes when I got home. Tuesday - took the day off. Yesterday, I did 36 minutes on the bike. Today will be 30 min walking at lunch and bike time when I get home. I'll HAVE to remember to grab my wrist weights and work my arms while I ride because I had almost forgotten that one of my goals was to do weights twice this week. I've counted my calories every day and been under my max every day. :thumbsup2 And now I'm going to have to go back and find where I posted my goals because I can't remember what my third one was! :scared1:

Edited to add: I looked up my 3rd goal! It was to bring my lunch twice this week. I have already done so once. Guess I'll be bringing it tomorrow too! Actually, I had already planned to do that, so it works. I'll be making some tuna salad tonight when I make my dinner. :thumbsup2

:lmao: You'll do fine at the shooting range, just don't point the gun towards your leg;)

The GF wow, I want to stay there too. I'm thinking when we go for a vow renewal for our 25th (cross my fingers but it's not for another 14 years, so if I start saving now:lmao: )

Have fun in Disney in case I forget to tell you later. And take lots of pictures to share with us.

Nice, that's awesome about the stockings at Disney. Take lots of pictures too.

:thumbsup2 Yeah for you on the two goals. I am at two goals myself. The water and keeping track of my points. Gym was a no-go this week, kids sick.

Laura

I did scedule an apt for an orthopedic specialist. I went to push the kitchen bench in with my bad knee and I almost dropped to the floor. I don't think about it cause it doesn't hurt.

I am now icing it.

Ok, I haven't walked any this week for obvious reasons.

I have been drinking my water and my bladder is thanking me like crazy.

I believe I am not eating past 7pm. Our dinners have been sooooo close since I now have a child here until 6pm. (The cryer) Boy does that wear one out.

Besides, I am too busy to eat late. I am so tired I pass out after the kids go to bed.

Uh Ohhhh,

Three Muskateers bars has a new fluffy mint version.

And it's absolutely yummy. I took the bullet for everyone here and tasted it FOR you. So you don't have to. Ohhhhh :cloud9:

:rolleyes1 OY! It's not one of my goals, unless it's after 8pm. :cool2:

:wave2:

I hope everyone is happy and healthy. The weekend is almost here:cheer2:.

On the mouse front (the furry brown kind, not the cute one in Orlando), I have not caught him yet. I just hope he was a bachelor and did not move his family in as well. The dogs are over the trauma and ventured downstairs last night and were sniffing around. These are the same fearless idiots that were scared of a baby squirrel that got into our house last year. :sad2: We named that wayward critter Darwin and gave him to a rehabber. We also had a cat get in bed with us once. We don't own a cat and have NO idea how it got inside. The cat freaked out when it saw the dogs and hid under the bed. The dogs freaked out and jumped in bed with us and shook. Pathetic... What is with us and all of these lost critters wandering into our house?! An injured bird landed on my head one morning when I was putting the baby in the car. That was another trip to the rehabber. Maybe I am related to Snow White:confused3

MonyMony, How is your knee? I injured mine earlier this year when I started running and ice really helped take the edge off even a few weeks after the initial injury. I hope you are feeling better soon and that the cryer has settled down. It is good you are going to see a doctor. Keep us posted.

WI-Disney Fan, Your pup is adorable. I don't think I have ever seen the Amercian Cocker before. Her little face is so cute. :goodvibes

Francesca, only 17 more days!!! I am so jealous. Happy for you of course, but VERY jealous. It is going to be beautiful with all of the decorations up.

Laura, has your family recovered from the stomach bug yet? I would rather deal with a cold that lasts for weeks on end than a stomach bug of any duration. I feel for you. On a different subject, we took our boys to WDW last November when they were 8 months and 2 years and they did really well.

MrnsMommy, how is your DD? It sounds like the stomach bug is making its rounds :scared1: I am sending you pixiedust: for good health.

Manda Jane. $660...that's not too shabby!! I like the way you think.

Disney Obsession, did you decide on Alaska or WDW? or both? I say compromise and go with Alaska this go round with the stipulation that you get to go to WDW the following year. Oh, and I don't blame you for not sharing your Mickey bar. YUM!!

AlDisney, Way to go on the new camera! Score!!

MAPigletfan, Wow, the GF at Christmas...you are going to have such a wonderful time. Just thinking abut it, I can almost taste that gingerbread. How did it go at the gun range? I hope you returned without any extra holes.

Punkin, how are your injuries? Man that must have hurt! I hope that elbow is just bruised. Joint injuries are tough to heal. I broke both of my elbows at the same time while inline skating. What a humbling experience, I couldn't even feed myself. My DH is a Saint. He did everything, and I do mean everything for me. :rolleyes1

Majicintheair, it is always nice to have an enabler in the family. I am diligently training my 3 year old for this job. One week to go and you will be hanging with the Mouse!!!

Well, I have not met the ab exercise goal but will carry that one over for next week in the hope that it will inspire me to ge up a bit early and just do it.

Cheers,
Kim
