Finally reached the top of the rubble.

Hi and hope you all had a nice Turkey Day/weekend.

I did cook and it was fabulous!

We took on the hallway/foyer ourselves. Tore out the flooring, laid down concrete board, mudded.

Let me just say, I impressed myself with my mad capentry skills. Who woulda thunk? Me? and Tim of course, doing flooring.

And we are still married.

Can't wait to see what the builder thinks of our job.

I just want to keep up with him so I do everything like he does. This part of the floor will be a continuation of what he is putting down in the kitchen.

Ok, back to this crazy style of living. Hope everyone is great. I always have everyone in my prayers.

Good Morning!!!

Doesn't look like much to catch up on from the weekend....boy was it quiet! Guess everyone was doing holiday visiting or having visitors, like me! My Mom came up from NJ for Thanksgiving and it was a great week with her! I left her at the airport this morning. I liked it better when you could go back to the gate and see them off. Then at least she wouldn't be waiting all alone there. Oh well.

Working today and starting my list of Christmas shopping, baking, decorating. So much to do...so little !

Today is Matt's 11th birthday. We celebrated it yesterday. He is so cute. He had a restless night because he was excited about turning 11. He didn't sleep good. I heard him tossing about through the night.

I'm confused. We went out bumming today (the Packers played on Thursday, otherwise I would have been glued to the TV today), and one of our stops was Kohl's department store. Because of my weight loss since last winter, my winter coat fits funny; luckily Kohl's was having a sale (but don't they always?), so I thought I would check out their selection. They had Columbia coats marked down from $200 to $120. Now, I hate the idea of spending over $100 on a winter jacket, but in Wisconsin you need something warm when you are out in the winter. I couldn't decide which coat felt the warmest, so I thought I would do a little research on the internet before I made a purchase. Now here's where the confusion comes in. None of the styles of Columbia coats that Kohl's offers seems to exist outside of Kohl's. I can't find any reviews on them, and they don't even show up on the Columbia website. So I am guessing Columbia either produces exclusive lines for Kohl's, or they "rebrand" existing ones with a different name for sale in department stores. But the problem is, I refuse to spend >$100 on a coat that may or may not keep me warm. So my quest continues to find out exactly what the deal is with these Columbia coats that are only sold at Kohl's.

Anyway, sorry about the long ramble. Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

secondly- I wonder if the ones marked down significantly, if they are last year's styles? What a dilema!

I needed a new coat but for the opposite reason...mine was a size 9/10. I didn't think walking around in the winter cold with a 12 inch GAP in front because I can't zip up would be wise or stylish. So I got a new cool one in brown with the hood lined in brown faux fur. It's for sure warm enough.

Columbia's are cool because there's an zippered undercoat to custom adjust to the cold. Good Luck!

Sandy...Thanks for the reminder about the water!!! I had forgotten to fill my Tupperware Disney Cup!! Now it's filled and I will be drinking it up!!!

Monica...You were in Disney 1 year ago?!? Enjoy reading about the trip...I know I did!!!

I have started writing my TR, but haven't yet posted it. I was waiting for some pics from my friends, but will just add them later if/when I get them! Maybe that will be my goal today...Get my TR started on the DIS!!!

Morning peeps.

It sounds like so many of us are doing good, especially with the long holiday weekend. I know I cheated more than any other time but I checked the scale this morning and I'm still doing okay. I try to stay at about 1000 calories a day so even if I cheat, I'm under my comfort limit. I had 3 bites of a pie my DIL32 made yesterday. I had DH fix my plate so that I wouldn't be tempted with a larger piece. It was very good pie and I was satisfied with the 3 bites (although while no one was looking, I licked the plate).

Wendy, you always make me laugh. I'm picturing your gaping coat. That would work here in California but not in Utah. I got a new coat at Costco. I had to get a smaller size, like Aaron, but am not willing to spend a lot of money since I'm not at my target size yet. We don't need much of a coat here--I think it's still in the 70s during the day.

We had our first Grand Gathering pre meeting yesterday for our Jan 09 trip. Since I'll be using DVC points for all of the rooms, I needed to know what everyone wanted to do. I think this trip may be more than I'll be able to handle. I own points at BCV and SSR and plan to use my points to get 2 rooms at BCV and 3 rooms at SSR so that I can book at the 11 month window. What does everyone want ---- AKL. I'm giving them free rooms and they want AKL. I may have to take up alcohol consumption before this is over.

WI_DisneyFan Cool that you need a new coat. I'm with UM, I walked around with my coat unbuttoned for years before DH got me a new one, he demanded I get it from Santa.

pigget74 Good luck on the first day back to work. I remember the pumping too. I also remember that I had no problem drinking water at work. that's the only thing we were allowed to drink at our desks so that was a good thing, probably the only good thing at that job.

Well, we went from DS6 having bronchitis, DD2 having an ear infection to yes you guessed it the dreaded stomach bug. DS8 and DD2 has it, DS6 is clear and free at the moment. Hopefully that's all that gets it.

hello all!

It is a rather dreary Monday here in MA...rainy grey and otherwise sleepy weather.
I have been battling a nasty cold since Thanksgiving and i think i may be nearing the end of it..I made myself go to Curves this morning and I will be back to counting calories this week and really until we go to disney next week! ( i can't believe it!!! ...I am HOPING that my weight will be what it was before the holiday on Wed. before we leave..that will make me VERY happy! But I have AF coming ( I hope..she's late and i am freaking out) this week so I dont' know if i can stand the scale this coming friday..we shall see.. I will try and be a brave peep..but i will def. weigh myself next week before we leave.
Being unemployed right now sort of stinks, i have ZERO money to buy gifts and am stressing about that right now..I know i have a job waiting for me in Jan..but i need to get payed now..I am still waiting to see if i can collect in the meantime..sigh...sorry for the rant..

Anyhoo..maybe i will start that trip report afterall..it will give me something to do! lol

Dreary here in NC too, but we need the rain so I am not complaining.

My coats still fit, or enough to get by anyhow. You don't often have to zip up here, and a leather coat is usually enough for me.

So far I have kept to my goals for today, hit the gym at lunch and have only had 500 calories so far. I am 16 oz into my water goal but hopefully that won't be a problem to get to 64.

I just moved cubicles in the new office and this one is MUCH better. I even got the guy next door to mess with the flourescent above me and turn it off. I hate flourescents so this makes me very happy.

hi, peeps!!! i'm super swamped at work but i'm officially back and reading the thread, though i haven't caught up from this weekend yet. oh, and some bad news......I BROKE MY CAMERA!!! those of you that know me know what a trajedy this is for me!!!! hopefully my friend that works at best buy can help me get it fixed.

i weighed myself this morning and i'm + 1 pound since last wednesday.....not too bad! i won't have time to exercise this week though so i'll just have to keep eating smart. hope everyone's having a good monday!!!

Hey MAPIGLET FAN! I can't wait until next week either! We are driving down early (hopefully) Thursday am (6th) for DS's 8th birthday, and leaving early Sunday am (9th). Hopefully there will not be very many crowds. Pop Warner and Allears are doing something at the parks next week. The weather here in Florida has been pretty warm still. Not a frost on the ground yet. Next week is supposed to be high 70's. The kids are already talking about a pool visit. I feel like I've been waiting forever. I am definitely following the diet now! Nothing like knowing there's going to be pictures taken to kick in the motivation.

Poor little kids ! Everything seems to be going around right now, but that doesn't make it any better. Hopefully it will make a quick exit before it pays anyone else in your home a visit............................................................................ I hear yall on the jackets. Here we just layer up, it usually starts out pretty cold, but warms up real fast. If I had to go north in the winter, I'd be in trouble, I'd look pretty funny trying to lug around my electric blanket.................................................................................Just a question, how do you make posts where they go down, skipping lines? I feel very not-smart that I haven't figured that out yet... , kept hoping that I'd luck out and click something the right way one day...but that might be awhile, so I thought I'd just ask.

i'm so jealous of all the peeps going to WDW during christmas! i hope to make it there one day soon during the holidays...... i'm not sure who all's going, but you guys have a blast!!!
