Good Morning Peeps,

I didn't get a chance to post yesterday, because I had no internet access, but I hope everyone had a WONDERFUL THANKSGIVING. :)

I also wanted to say that, somehow, someway... a miracle happened. I got on the scale yesterday (AFTER eating yummy food) and I lost 4 pounds from last week!!!! :dance3: Which means that I MADE MY THANKSGIVING GOAL!!!!

I had given up on making it, because I only had my 1st loss of 1.2 pounds last week. This 4 pounds is probably water weight, but I'LL TAKE IT!! :rotfl2:

I haven't done a weigh-in for today yet, but I just had to share this news. This is really major for me! :cool1:

:cool1: :thumbsup2

Good Morning Peeps!!!

Ate WAAAYY too many carbs yesterday, but can say I lost 1lb since my post WDW WI on Monday!!! :woohoo: After yesterday, I am excited with that. Aaron, put me down for a 5lb loss in the Christmas Challenge. I CAN DO IT!!!! :thumbsup2

I am getting my pics situated, then I will be starting my TR! (Something I have looked forward to doing since I joined last year!!! Thanks to Wendy, Melinda, GlendaMax and countless others whose footsteps I can only hope to follow!) :goodvibes

I gained 6.4 in the last 2 weeks. That may just be Thanksgiving dinner still in my gut, but my jeans were tight yesterday morning. I am so not setting a Christmas goal. Goals tend to have the opposite on me. I'm such a yo-yo that that number could reverse in no time.

ACK!!!!!!!

Wendy, don't worry about it!! You can get it off in no time! Sounds like you are like me and either the focus or motivation just aren't there. We can do this together!!! I am back to having the dreaded "2" in my weight, so I know I need to focus quick! (Being 45 and pre-menopausal hasn't helped much either!!! )

Morning peeps. I had posted my loss yesterday to conclude by Thanksgiving challenge but I did weigh again this morning just in case. Still down the 1 lb this week. I was pretty good yesterday as we went out for our meal and I had scallops and a green salad.

Tia Congrats on the big loss. I know that's gotta feel great.

Someone had asked me (sorry I forgot who) about my walking. I started out just taking my little dogs out for a couple of blocks. It killed me. I was so out of shape and pretty worn out from finishing chemo and radiation. So maybe I started at a slow pace for about a quarter of a mile/half of a mile. And then I worked my way up. Then I got some advice from Dawn  regarding the intervals and I started walking and running combined--makes it more interesting. Now I take the dogs out for 2 miles with DH and that's my warm up. No running. I come back and get on the treadmill and do another 3 miles that's much faster than walking with the dogs. I've also added toning exercises and use my exercise ball and resistance bands after I finish my cardio. I'm going to try adding some jump rope now just to add variety.

I'm 51 yrs old and a desk jockey. No young kids to chase or anything. So I 100% believe that my weight loss success is due to the exercise. I am on a diet, very strict actually for health reasons, but at my age, the weight will not come off with diet alone. Before my cancer, I had been on the same type of diet for 18 months with no exercise program. In that time, I lost 10 lbs. This time, in 4 months with exercise, I've lost 22 lbs or 12%. Huge difference. Plus I like feeling some muscles starting to form under that flab!

Wendy don't feel bad... I have gained too.

One more day of T-giving leftovers and back on the diet for me. Although Tuesday is our holiday luncheon at work. :headache:

Okay well I was so excited for my first official return wiegh-in and guess what? Our scale is broke! Something is wrong and the needle doesn't move! Hmpf! I did ALRIGHT with eating yesterday... did much better with the appetizers (stuck with some shrimp, olives, and cashews... although I did have a little port wine cheese) and dinner (small helpings) but dessert did me in! I had tooo many cookies and sweets! I still felt like I might be negative since its been so long since I have been back.

Oh well, I will weigh myself tomorrow morning when I go to the gym! ;)

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. I am hoping that some day soon my life will slow down and I can stop in more often. I miss everyone!

EVERYBODY ELSE..... :grouphug:

HERE'S SOME PUMPKIN PIE FROM ME.

HAVE A GREAT THANKSGIVING!!!
Thanks for the pie. It was nice and warm!

Hi to Stacey. Glad to see you. Come back when you can.

DH and I hit Target this morning at 6 a.m. It reminded me of when the kids go see Santa in "A Christmas Story". There were maybe 20 people out front when we arrived, but as we and several others walked up, a lady shouted "Don't be cheaters, the line goes all the way around the back." Everyone was very civil though, so no fist fights for me. I got Ratatouille and Hairspray for my DD, as well as quite a few other things. Then we hit Bed Bath and Beyond, then I dropped DH at home and hit Long's and Walgreen's. All in all, I feel pretty successful, and I had enough energy to ride the exercise bike after lunch, and move my fridge and scrub the floor behind it (There's a mystery smell in the kitchen, and it's forced me to really scrub the place).
I'm writing down everything I eat today so the holiday free-for-all doesn't continue. I didn't think I did too badly yesterday, but I did have heartburn last night, so I think I had too much fat. It must have been the stuffing with sausage in it. I love stuffing! There are no leftovers here, so I'm in a good place.

Congrats to everyone who ate wisely yesterday, and to those who fell off the wagon, get right back on before you get trampled under! Here's a hand up.

Hi Everyone....
Sorry i have been an absentee peep for a bit now..things always get so darn crazy this time of year.
I can say that i did not meet my goal of the 5.5 lost for Turkey day so, Aaron, if there is another challenge for christmas going on..please put me down for 5 by then...might as well keep trying!
Although..CHECK OUT MY TICKER...13 days and i will be in WDW!!! wheeee..i can't wait..its my first time going at this time of year and we are staying Club Level at the GF..can you say Gingerbread house..wheee!
Hope everyone had a good day of turkey n' more :)

you mean today was a weigh day? hmmmm - I havent come close to that scale in weeks!!

HUGS Wendy, I feel your pain!!

I did bBlack Friday - had the ads out and a plan - alarm set to 3:30am - wanted the free JC Penny snowglobe for $10 off on Sat sale - at 2:30am I realized ds had the car - so turned off the alarm, and set my "momma" alarm - at 4:30 dh told me I overslept!! "DS still not home" dh says "Call him!" lol - oh yeah!!

Got to the mall went to Carson's Dept store - got my mom the digital photo frame $49 and a digital key chain ($9) debated on a 4G mp3 player for 74 bucks for ds#1 - but decided against it Got dd a $99 Samsung digital camera 7 - and then got a $14 memory disk and used a $10 off coupon!! Went to Sears, to crazy - they didnt post the door buster prices - you were to use your sale ad!! NUTS! Went to JC Penny - and they had globes left!! woohoo - drove to Target - very peaceful - 4 entry points 4 long lines - I got there at 5:58 - and waited till 6 to watch the rush, I got at the end of the line and got the FREE BAG!! :woohoo:

That bag folds up and you zip around it - its the size of a wallet so you dont have to get those non recyclable plastic bags!!

Went to Ulta for stocking stuffers, Michaels (great deal on drawing stuff $2.99 for the pencil set )) Jo ANn Fabric, Old Navy -

Actually I went to Kohls at 6:20 (I got 10 dvd's at Target -$5- Borat, Davinci Code, Click, a couple others I forgot! Season 6 Gilmore Girls was 14 bucks) That line went from the front of the store to the back - and I went back 3 times throughout the day - it never let up - at 1pm they announced that the doorbuster sales automatically stop at 2pm by computer - they cant control it even if you are in line before 2!! and you know in today's paper - they're having the same door buster sales tomorrow!!

I also went to Menard's of all places, but they had the European Lindt truffles - the bags normally are around $4 - $1.95 - I'm going to give them as teacher gifts - last year I bought a bunch of pretty red candy bowls at 90% off now i have candy to put in them!!

I did Macy's as well - ther $18 box of Frango mints were $9 - and they took the $10 off coupon!! I think we'll be going to fdil mom's for a get together and wanted a hostess gift -

The kids all came for Tday dinner at 6 - such a blessing to have them around the table!! I brined my turkey - it worked great (NEVER brine a frozen bird - they are pre brined to up their weight count for sale purposes!)

My secret Pumpkin Pie recipe was a huge hit!! (google eagle brand sweetend condensed milk + pumpkin pie - and use fresh ginger instead of dried! and skip hte cloves!! LOL Also after you bake the pie for the 45 - 50 min - turn the oven off, and leave the pie in the oven if its still a bit jiggly - it will set up without that brown spot on it!!

:rotfl: My but I'm a chatty Cathy!!

I've been reading - {{hugs}} all - Kat love your car!!

Singing :cool1: on reaching your goal!! Woo hoo TIA!!

Pakey - thank you so much for sharing your journey - your determination is inspiring!! Thank you!!

I love reading all the posts from the not so "newbies" - great for jumping in and joining in !!! Thank you!!

Well, I weighed yesterday morning, and I was up 1 lb (218.2), but that's still below my Turkey Day goal of 219. And I'm not sure how accurate it was considering I got 3 different numbers (I was standing on the scale a bit weird the first time, so I re-weighed - saw 218.8, 216.8, and 218.2???). I will weigh again in the morning, so I can have a starting off point for a Christmas challenge, should there be one. ;) I am thinking 5 lbs. I would absolutely LOVE it if I could be down to at least 210 by the time we leave for Disneyland in January!

Eh, it's my own fault.

Despite having the flu (not the stomach version, sadly) yesterday, I still went to the movies (Enchanted ROCKS!!!) and had popcorn size XL...but by Thanksgiving dinner, I had a pretty high fever and just picked at my food. That's how we know I'm SICK sick, LOL! I feel better today but still all achey. I'm Zicam-ing and Hot Tea-ing...and resting.

Anyway, Got out my tread mill and unfolded it and dusted it off (ACK! I hate admitting this all) and started walking (and watching TV). I put high calorie pizzas in the oven for my family and I ate salad with grilled chicken.

My jeans have been really tight recently, so I broke down and bought some in a size larger.... . NOTHING is worse than that! But they are comfortable and I wont risk major organ damage from being squoze.

Thank you Hockey Kitty and Disney Obsession! I'm so glad to co-miserate with you! We freaking CAN do this!

:cheer2:

Thus far our week (no thanks to me) is down 11.4 pounds!!!!!

My personal goals, by UtahMama:

1. drink water or Crystal Lite 2:1 to diet soda. THIS has never been done, people!

2. one meal each day has to be all veggie. (And not added cheese...DUH)

3. 30 minutes min. on the tread mill each day starting today. This is up from zero minutes per day.

There. Those 3 little goals. 3 baby steps.

THanks Wendy! You have inspired me!!!! You and I (as well as a few others) have been doing this together for a little over a year now. We started off so well....rememeber how well we did last year through Thanksgiving and Christmas!!!! Well we've both been lax on the exercise and dieting recently, but you have convinced me to get my :eeyore: back on the elliptical and to start eating well again! We'll do it together! Tomorrow is a new day to Skinny Minniehood!:thumbsup2

I'm making a huge pot of homemade Turkey soup with oodles of veggies right now. That should give me a jump start tomorrow!

Ok, I JUST now got off the tread mill, still wobbly!!!! 30 minutes on a steep incline, doing lunge-like steps. AND I'm drinking a 32 ouncer of Crystal Lite. I don't have a big appetite but I finished my dd's pizza- which was 5 bites.

Watching Men In Trees and folding laundry, but just had to share my good news. So far so good on my week's goals. I solomnly promise to do all three of my goals every day till friday. Wish me luck!!!! My reminder :1.) drink water or CL 2:1 to diet soda 2.) one all veggie meal every day, 3.) tread mill every single day for a minimum of 30 minutes- moderate to hard. :cheer2: I'm anxious to see how this pans out!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyone else want to set 3 GOALS for this week? One's that you PROMISE to do every day?

OK I'm in promising you is an oath I must keep!

1. 30 minutes exercise a day! and if that doesn't kill me....

2. Drink at least 6 glasses of water a day!

3. Keep track of my calories!

Okay Wendy, I am with you.

My goals for the week (starting Sunday):
1) Keep track of calories (except holiday lunch on Tuesday)
2) Exercise at least 4 days, 30 min+ on elliptical and crunches
3) Drink 64oz of water a day.

Sandy, nice to see you posting. Glad your t-giving was great! I have thought of brining the turkey, but I cheat and use an oven bag.

I avoided Black Friday and had a nice lazy day on the chaise lounge watching hockey and playing on the internet. :surfweb:

PD, can I just piggyback on your goals for the week? Thanks, you're a pal!

Sandy, I have a secret pumpkin pie recipe, too. But mine has tofu, no Eagle Brand. I bet yours tastes better. I do use Eagle Brand for my lemon meringue pie. It is mmmmm-good! I'm afraid to know the calories on that puppy, though.
