RED ALERT!!!

Here's what my desk looked like this morning when I came to work...
cookies.jpg

Then there was a whole 9x13 container of fudge in the workroom and some nice minister brought doughnuts for the whole staff! See why it's so hard to maintain a nice weight here!

MOVE AWAY FROM YOUR DESK!!!!!

Seriously! Are you KIDDING me? How on earth do you DO it?????
If you even resisted for 5 minutes, you're a ROCK STAR!!!!!

What is tabouleh? Sounds interesting but I've never heard of it.

i am probably hacking the spelling..as i do that quite often..but it is basicly a mediterranean type salsa, with couscous, cilantro, diced tomatoes and onions..VERY TASTY! you can find it where the hummus is found at the grocery store.

I can so relate to this. My classroom use to be the workroom for our hall. Well we are really running out of space in our school so they moved my class there. The most I have at a time is 7 students. Anyway, my room still has the coffee maker and I have a small fridge that a lot of my co-workers use. I am also the only class on my end that does not have another teacher teach class out of. So all the teachers on my end come to my room during that time--they bring all sorts of stuff and put near the coffee pot. I have already turned down king cake and other goodies. My table in my class looks like that around the holidays.

My Top 5 snacks:

1. veggies dipped in Hummus (edamame, baby carrots, broccoli)
2. Yoplait light yogurts
3. string cheese
4. Thursday Pooh Muffins
5. beef jerkey

extra credit:
6. 16 Wheat Thins
7. lunchmeat and sliced cheese rolled up
8. almonds
9. hard boiled egg
10. peanut butter in celery
11. slim fast snack bars ("optima" has lots of protein)
12. McDonalds parfet (How do you spell that???)
13. Crystal Lite Slurpee at 7-11 (or diet pepsi slurpees when they have them)
14. Trail Mix-pick out the M&M's and give them to DH who thinks he's so cool for losing 40 pounds in the time it took me to lose 8!!!!
15. air-popped pop corn or 94% lite microwave popcorn

TIP:
Protein literally keeps you full longer than carbohydrates.

Your list sounds yummy! I never though of doing extra credit!

It is parfait. ;)

Ok, finishing up the last half of my catch up...

I can NOT wait to make the soda cake!

These seem to come out better in cup cake form...also give you individual serving sizes. Just an FYI

There are a lot of peeps going...get thee to the travel agent and book for it is written in the good book of UtahMama that all people should make an annual pilgrimage to the Mecca of Disney World. Now we will pause for a prayer...

Our UtahMama, who posts on the DIS boards, hallowed be thy name.

Thy trip report posted, 'Git er done,

At Disney Land, and of course, in Walt Disney World.

Give us this day, some words of encouragement, and of course, free dining in September

And forgive us our code talking, :) :)

As we forgive those who code talk against us.

Lead us not into calories,

And deliver us from fat grams,

In the name of Bob Greene, Jenny Craig, and The holy Weight Watchers, amen

We will now return to our regulary scheduled programming...:happytv:

P.S. Lets hear a Woooohoooty for Dan this is his 100th post all but 1 on this thread....ty ty ty no applause just throw money :)

This is just awesome...
and WOO HOOTY for you!!!

OK everyone. I am trying to collect recipes in a somewhat organized fashion as part of one of my goals this week. That way DH has selections he can choose from, so he doesn't have to ask me, "Can you have this? Can you have that?" repeatedly. I have the recipes for the soda and punkin cupcakes & the pooh: muffins. I thought I had the sweet potato "fires", but I guess I was wrong. :( I hate to ask, but could anyone move it up or just clue me in to what one of the pages it might be on is? :confused3 Also, what else am I missing??? I remember there being a barbeque chicken pizza. Was there anything else I have missed or forgotten?

Have you tried sparkspeople.com? They have lots of good recipes. As does weightwatchers.com (and you can get to the recipe part for free without having to join!) :cool1:

Melinda!
Why do they put that stuff on your desk?! That's just mean. But they think they are being nice, I spose.

MY top 5 "good for you snacks"

1. Low fat string cheese...calcium = protein without all the fat
2. almonds, just a small handful gets rid of hunger pain
3. graham crackers with peanut butter ..OR with lf/ff frozen cool whip for an ice cream sandwich taste!
4. grapes...super chilled in the fridge
5. tabouleh with veggies..YUM!

I love love love tabouleh. :thumbsup2

OK, my top 5 favorite healthy snacks, in no particular order, are...

1) popcorn (not the uber-bettery kind - light or 94% fat free)
2) an apple w/reduced fat peanut butter (Yummy!)
3) hummus w/black bean tortilla chips (right now, I am using sun dried tomato hummus)
4) WW cakes (the ones that come in lemon, chocolate, & carrot cake varieties - I love them all and eat them from the freezer!)
5) almonds, preferably honey roasted

I do have some fat free cool whip in the freezer though. I plan on trying it (still frozen) with some strawberries as soon as I can find some decent strawberries here in frigid Illinois. Once I try that, it may be bumped up into the top 5. ;)

Hummus is super good for you. Love it.

Top 5 snacks for me:

1. Triscuits and Laughing Cow cheese wedge
2. String cheese
3. Snack size (90-100 cal) popcorn
4. Blue Bunny Lite 85 fat free sugar free yogurt (sometimes I dip triscuits in this, sounds weird but it's yummy, the salt and sweet mix)
5. Sliced banana with yogurt on top and sprinkled with Kashi Go Lean cereal (super filling)

Have a good one, skinnies! :goodvibes

Ignore this as my computer seems to be smarter than me today

Finally! Here is the recipe again! Love all y'all!!!

Here is the pizza Recipe Ladies....Also you can substitue the chicken, cilantro, red onions, cherry tomatoes, and BBQ sauce and make pepperoni and SAVE even more fat and carbs. Just get rid of the BBQ sauce and instead spray crust with olive oil. Then place 25 pieces of Turkey pepperoni (70% less fat than standard pepporoni and it is delicious I can't really tell a diff in taste). It will be a winner for the kids. This recipe comes with 100% satisfaction garanteed. If your family doesn't absolutely love it, stop making it and I will refund 300% of the money you paid for the recipe. :rotfl: :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl2:

And this id for Disneyfreak's hubby-so he knows what to fix

Hello, hello, and hello to all the Newbies! Please post a Bio and Picture if you have not already.

Moo - I can't find yours anywhere...

Harley - have strength sister! Find a carrot to munch on!!!

Top 5 snacks
1- Sugar Free Chocolate Jello Pudding Cups
2 - Baby Carrots, Banana, or Sliced Apples (boring I know, but I like em)
3 - Any of the 100 cal snack packs (AWESOME!)
4 - Hummus & Crackers
5 - Granola Munchems (and they have whole wheat in them!)

I have a new awesome recipe for Cauliflower Poppers...but I ate ALL of them when I made them this weekend (cause no one else at my house would even try them cause they were cauliflower even though they didn't taste like cauliflower...) Yes Peeps, I am talking about a WHOLE HEAD OF CAULIFLOWER...ate it all up. Guess it could be worse... :scared:

I think I've got it now:

BBQ Chicken PIZZA
One wheat (low low carb pre made pizza crust)
8 oz finely chopped or sliced grilled chicken. ( I usually have some pregrilled in the fridge).
1/2 c BBQ Sauce (try to stay under 7 grams of fat)
1/2 c Cabots low fat cheese
Cilantro (chopped to taste)
1 Tblspn Italian seasoning
Red onions (chopped very thin to taste)
5 cherry tomatoes (sliced thin)
1/4 c grated parmasean cheese (lower sodium and carbs than the low fat variety in most brands--check the lables)
EVOO (put in an areosol bottle-can find the bottles at most kitchen stores for around 4 bucks..fill your own DO NOT USE PREFILLED AEROSOL bottles of olive oil they will kill your diet).
spray bottle of " I can't believe it's not butter".

Preheat oven to 450. dust the crust with EVOO. Spread the BBQ sauce onto the crust leaving about 1/4" exposed crust on the outside. Add Chicken, Cilantro, red onions, cherry tomatoes, and italian seasoning. Add both cheeses. Reduce heat of the oven to 425. Place pizza directly on the rack for 8-12 minutes or until cheese is golden brown. Once the pzza is done remove from the oven and spritz exposed section of the crust with the "I can't believe it's not butter". Let stand 3 minutes then slice into 8 pieces.

Depending on the thickness of the crust you are looking at 6 grams of fat, 90 calories, 200 mg of sodium and 16 carbs. This was really good. I will make it again.

Melinda help is on the way..............here it is!!!

Thanks, Fidge!!! Here's the bad part........that's what my desk looks like EVERY TUESDAY!

I'm in charge of the cookie ministry outreach. Nice ladies at church make homemade cookies and I repackage them and our intern delivers them to visiting college students........every week.

Michelle....that broken cookie rule is just not true!!! WWPD???

Although I did not eat any cookies....I did give in to the temptation of a mallow bar. I will NOT describe it to you here....for your own safety.

Thanks for the support, peeps!!!
