36 - almost 37 - no husband - no kids. I'm an accountant for a steel company in Mississippi. We have divisions in four other states around the U.S. and I do payroll for all so my life is planned and organized around getting the payroll out! I have two nieces and a nephew ( ages 10, almost 7, and 4 1/2 ). They live in Texas (about 10 hours a way), but I've spent time with them almost every month since the 10 year old was born. It isn't always easy, but it sure is worth the effort!!!

I work with preschoolers at church and usually enjoy it very much! They are beyond precious - tho they sometimes drive me nuts! I also work with teenagers for part of the year. That's a whole different ballgame, but every year they amaze me with how fantastic they are. I definitely have got the good ones here. I also sing in the choir and a ladies ensemble.

I'm a big Disney fan since 1972 - I was two!!! when we went to Disney World for the first time. I don't really remember it, but I sure am glad my parents had fun and wanted to go back! We went back every few years through my high school grad in '88. I did the WDW College Program Jan - May 1990. I worked in Outdoor Foods (ice cream cart) or in the bakery or ice cream shop. One of my best choices ever. Went back a couple of more times with my college band. (In case you care, I play the clarinet.)

Made a few more trips with my brother's (he's the director) high school band and then detoured to Disneyland a couple of times. Finally got back to Disney World in September 2006 - and had a great time. Got hooked on Dis about then and here I am! And I'm glad... we all need encouragement - and not just everybody understands. I'll post a pic someday - got to figure out one I like!!!!

PS - We (my parents and I) did the Keys to the Kingdom Tour in September, and they ask who your favorite character is - mine is Lumpy from the Heffalump movie. The little boy who voiced Lumpy I thought did a great job. He had those cute baby giggles that just melt your heart! Plus I'm a "little Lumpy" - that's why I'm here!!!! :rotfl2:

Okay, I knew this thread was here, but I am just now joining. I was going strong back in August-November--had lost about 15-20 pounds. Well we canceled our cruise the week before Thanksgiving and it has gone downhill from there. I have Disney in MArch and the beach in July so I really need to lose what I gained and then another 15. I started by this morning drinking my 20 oz. of water--I can't have coffee until this is gone. I am going to have oatmeal for breakfast (when my students go to their elective). I have a weigh wathcers meal for lunch with another 20 oz of water. I have a WW snack. Hopefully I will not cave--If I can just make it the first 2 days and get a mindset and report to you guys I should make it--I hope.
My short tetm goal--run 10k at Easter in New Orleans and (long term) then in January run the 1/2 marathon in DISNEY!!

Have a great day everyone.

You are being so true to you - AWESOME! I'm guilty of still "thinking" of it, and hoping I'm ok with calories...

There are a lot of peeps going...get thee to the travel agent and book for it is written in the good book of UtahMama that all people should make an annual pilgrimage to the Mecca of Disney World. Now we will pause for a prayer...

P.S. Lets hear a Woooohoooty for Dan this is his 100th post all but 1 on this thread....ty ty ty no applause just throw money :)

WOOOHOOOTY Dan!! No fair posting your age!! It serves to make me feel really old... but doncha just luv Februrary for your birthday??? Seriously, I have no idea how old I am, I know the year I was born... so you posted your year, huh, ten years younger than me!! THEN YOU HAVE TO PUT IT IN PRINT THE AGE!!! :scared1: Good grief I'm old!!

I love the bios and pictures. The more I get to know you peeps, the more I  you all. I also find lots of similarities between us. It IS a small world, after all!

My friend brought me homemade English toffee today. I bagged it, brought it home, and measured a piece before I ate it (3/4 oz. 3 pts. I think:confused3 ). That was a major accomplishment for me.

I have another reason to get this weight off now. DH just told me he's taking me to see my pseudo-freebie (we don't do the freebie thing because we love each other so much, plus what if you had a gas attack with a celebrity?) for my birthday. We're going to Reno to see the Who, and I've had a total crush on the lead singer, Roger Daltrey, for 31 years. So I have to look fabulous in case he spots me in row 100.

I know it's Tuesday for many of you, so have a great Tuesday.

I love reading your posts!!! WTG, CONGRATS on defeating the chocolate, and n ot letting it defeat you!!! WOOHOO!! Did you ever get to see the Musical "Tommy" we did, awesome!!! Great bday gift btw!! and you are so right on how much in life we have in common!!

My brain is addled, its still dark here, dh worked till 4am, so I've got to get dd to school, NOW.. well at least wakey wakey dd!! I just lost my point as I looked at the clock... gotta run...

Well I've been lurking for a while thanks to Melinda and I thought it was finally time I posted something! Since joining the DIS I'm sure by bum has got bigger from sitting at the PC too long :rotfl2: So I need some encouragement to get off it and do some exercise, I weigh the same now, well within a few pounds, as I did when I got married over 11 years ago, it's just changed position alot. :rotfl2: I have a huge weakness for chocolate because well it just tastes soooooo good.

Hope to get to know you all a bit better, although I feel as though I "know" some of you already and can't wait to meet up with DLmama, V and Lauralee in August. :thumbsup2

Good morning! I am off to work where I struggle all day to not pick when I get nervous or bored. It is so hard. But today I am armed with trail mix and strawberries. :rotfl: Think skinny!;)

Good Morning!!

Just a quick check, as I really need to get ready for work and pack my breakfast & lunch!

Hope everyone has a good day. I'll catch up at the office!! ;)

Honey, that was good, very good.... I am amazed at how you come up with these things. WOW! And, WoooooHoooty!
In our newspaper's travel section, they mentioned a group that toured all the Disney parks in one trip. Wouldn't that be the coolest way to spend a sabbatical?

As much as Grumpy loves me and WDW.... he keeps telling me there are other places besides Disney... OMG (I havent completely brainwashed him yet.) He is correct and I would like to see those places... Someday! Italy, Germany, France and Australia... I keep telling him I can visit most of those places at World Showcase..:rotfl2: ... But, someday we would like to see the REAL places.

Good Morning!

I haven't had a chance to check in with you peeps in while but I'm still here!!

I was hoping to get a little advice from all of you experienced peeps regarding our upcoming weekend trip to the World. I'm going Friday morning with the kids and DH is driving over after internship Friday evening. So I get a day with the kids at the parks, just special Mommy time.:woohoo: I've never had a chance to do this before so I'm actually really excited! So my quandry is, what to do???? DD loves the thrill rides and so do I, but DS....not so much. And of course I want to do something everyone would enjoy. We've never done the new Nemo attraction at Epcot and we all love Soarin' so I'm thinking that's a strong possibility. Does anyone have any idea how busy Epcot might be on a Friday, or what the least busy park is. I guess maybe I should be asking this on the resort boards, but I "know" you guys and totally trust your opinions so I'd rather ask all of you...or all y'all as they say in the South!

Anyhoo, any advice you have would be appreciated, thanks!!!

Let me tell you what happened to me last night and how I coped so that you can NOT do the same thing...

Ok, let me set the stage. We leave for Disney early Saturday morning. Between then and now, I have literally 9237 things to do. Last night's agenda was a Brownie meeting. I am a Brownie leader and last night was my turn to host the Try-It and bring a snack and drink. Now, over the weekend I was a good dieter and made brownies with frosting as a troop snack and only had a 1/2 of one for dessert Sunday night :cool1: . Before you congratulate me, let me finish...

Last night, I had to get all of the Try-It stuff to get together to bring to the meeting, I also had to pack up all of the troop items, such as cookie sale material (I know this is a bad place to peddle cookies, so I won't even try ;) ). Anyway, I had a lot to do in the 45-mins between the time I got home from work and the time that the troop meeting started. I walk in the door from work and see the kitchen is a PIG-STY. And I don't mean the kind of pig-sty that everyone's mom referred to when they were little and a pair of socks were left on the floor in your bedroom. I mean an actual pig-sty. Lunch plates and crumbs all over the table, trash can spilled over with trash on the kitchen floor, jackets and gloves and shoes thrown everywhere, etc. Most of the items I had gathered together for the troop meeting were now MIA. Worse yet, about 3/4 of the 2-dozen brownies that I made for our meeting were missing and the meeting started in 45 mins :scared1: . Then my husband comes crawling into the kitchen (literally). He had been home with the kids but threw his back out painting the bathroom and could not stand up straight. Thus, the kids DD6 and DD4 and two dogs had run of the house all afternoon while he was in bed. So, I did what any good overweight emotional eater would do, I finished off the 6 brownies with frosting that remained.

Ok, fast forward to bedtime. I made it through the meeting, cleaning up, finished up all of my tasks, and went to bed at a reasonable time (although I did not get to do any of my packing or other vacation-related things). I was up all night with heartburn from the 6 brownies with frosting. I may have slept 2 or 3 hours, I can't remember. No pepto or tums because it was DH's turn to go to the store and he couldn't because of his back. So I laid there in bed with my chest burning and thinking, why, why, why did I do this to myself? :sad2:

Finally, it is morning. I wake up at 5am so that I can get the Dkids dressed and fed and be in work by 8am (I have an hour drive). While I am doing that, the DDog gets into the trash again, eats heaven-knows-what, and then regurgitates it nine times in nine different places on our new ivory carpet - :thumbsup2 - Just what I need! Out with the SpotBot as I am hurrying the kids along. Everytime I bend over to move the SpotBot, I have horrible heartburn again and think of those brownies

So, long story short (Too Late!), if you get tempted to eat anything you shouldn't today out of frustration or emotion or whatever - DON'T! Think of my heartburn and lack of sleep and how it just made things much worse for me and how I am still paying for it! The brownies were not even that good! :guilty: :guilty: :guilty:

Have a skinnie minnie day everyone!

P.S. - If anyone out there is saying prayers today, please think of our family and pray that DH's back is better for our trip - we really need this trip and leave in 4 days!

So glad you asked!

This is the 1969 version:

Google Johnny Lingo for the 2003 version! Perfect for Family Movie Nights!!!
I promise you'd love both versions! They are NOT the same. The 2003 version is a nephew(?) of the 1969 version.

P.S. I am SO an 8 Cow Wife!!!!

Wendy...I LOVE that story ! :cloud9: I am soooo an 8 cow wife.....
Last year one of my husband golf buddys called me out of the blue. He called just because he wanted to let me know that when they play golf, my DH is always talking about what a great wife and mother I am ! I was floored ! It made me feel valued and appreiciated.
