Hi everyone! COUNT ME IN! First a little about me: I'm 26, a graduate student in speech language pathology, single and looking, no kids.

I actually stumbled across this thread while perusing UM's trip report (fabulous by the way), but didn't get a chance to read through it til now. I started WW (at home and online) last Tuesday, but Wednesday's are my "weigh days". This isn't my first go round with WW though. Did it the first time in high school and made goal, but gained it all back throughout college, and then even more in the past few years. I've tried to go back on WW many times in between but it never stuck. Guess I really wasn't ready.

I have some serious bingeing issues to contain with - so much so that I have actually looked into eating disorder sites to see if I may actually have one. Hard to tell. But for the first time in a long time I've made it this many days (including a weekend) without a binge and counted the points for everything I put in my mouth. The two kickers that made me get serious were when I saw a video of myself and when I booked a cruise for April. I want to be confident in that bathing suit and right now I am not! Also, since I'm in grad school at night and doing my clinical rotation 3 days a week, I have a hard time fitting in exercise, but I'm really trying to figure out a schedule so I can at least get 3-4 days in a week, which is better than 0 right?

Oh, and I'm going to WDW this weekend. Leaving Friday afternoon for the Pirate and Princess Party, spending all day Saturday at the MK, and leaving Sunday late morning. I've given myself permission to eat whatever it is I want but I will try to limit it a little.

Some of my goals:
1) Exercise! Any activity other than walking to the fridge is great!
2) Drink all of my water!
3) Overall weight goal is not definite - at least 50 lbs. I think
4) Stop stress and boredom binges

I'm really excited about joining your little club! Hope everyone is having a great day!
*Shannon

:welcome: Shannon!! This group is an awesome support mechanism :grouphug: , so you came to the right place!! I'm also 26 and a grad student working full-time, so I know how hard it can be to cram exercise into your free time . . . But we have some amazing peeps here who have families, work and did I mention taking care of husbands, kids, houses, etc. ?? They have lots of great ideas on how to add exercise and healthy eating into every situation.

What cruise line are you going on? You'll have such a blast!! My DH and I went on our first Caribbean cruise for our honeymoon and it was the best vacation ever . . . Well except for WDW, but u just can't compare the exhausting must do everything magic of WDW with a relaxing cruise where you just step off your boat and onto a tropical island :cloud9: !! Well, the exorbitant amounts of food might compare to my Disney vacays, but that's what cruise ships have gyms for :rolleyes1 !! I would follow up every WDW vacation with a relaxing cruise if I could . . . Now if Disney would just lower the prices of the land/sea vacations!!!

Here is hint someone told me...

I love hot food!
If you like chips and salsa ---- use celery instead of chips then you dont det the calories but you get the CRUNCH!!!

Bee-
How cute! You and Grumpydude are gonna have a long distance romance fo a few weeks  . Sleep smack dab in the middle of the bed and HOG all the covers! :cloud9: NO SNORRING (assuming he does) to keep you awake! I swear, after 10 years of marriage, you'd think I'd be used to it. NOPE. I think of ways to "silence" him for a few hours. No computers in the Utah Women's Prison so I wont take it too far ;) . I want a set of Bose silencing head phones or my own room. :scared1:

Does ANY one know what an "8 Cow Wife" is? It's a Johnny Lingo reference. My very best favorite movie! Share a chuckle with me if you DO know!

OH, I Do! I do!!!!!! :yay: I grew up watching that movie! One of our favorite quotes was always "Mohana, you ugly!"

I am so excited, we now have four Mississippians here!! Shout out to Piggit - so glad you joined us!!, KatinHat, and AnnNan!

I ran home for lunch - lean cuisine pizza (I like Pizzafari better!)

Gotta run! I am posting another dining installment tonight and maybe first installment of the trip report!

Holly Crap! It just took me an hour to catch up!! Now I have to go to mcdonalds because I promised my kids if they cleaned up the house I would take them. School was canceled today...............so pray for me! I didn't eat breakfast and I haven't had fast food since I fell off the wagon at kfc 2 weeks ago. Hopfully I will be able to resist temptation. Grumpy, do you have a prayer for me?

Thanks to everyone for their :grouphug: and pixiedust:, but I'm gonna need more...

DH is writhing in agony and cannot get out of bed to get to the doctor. I'm leaving work now and have to go home to call an ambulance. Of course I don't want him to be in pain and am worried about him, but I'm also worried about our trip this Saturday - is that horrible? Is there any chance we are still going to get to Disney World?

I'll keep you all updated - so glad I found some new friends with  and :grouphug:

Keep praying for us!

Back pain is the worst! Both my dh & I have had problems with it. When I was pregnant with my first I sneazed and couldn't move for a week! I totally understand why you're worried about your trip and it's not horrible. He can always use one of those scooters while you're there! Let us know how he's doing!

Will do! You are going to Disney. It will all work out!:wizard:

And this id for Disneyfreak's hubby-so he knows what to fix

Thank you! :) I was hunting and not finding earlier. I have added them to my list of recipes, so now I have them. And someone (maybe Shawna) mentioned sparkpeople.com. Thank you. I will try that. So far, I have checked out the Self and Shape magazine websites and have some from there. And I also want to check out the Best Life site. I would like to find at least one more for the recipe journal (already found and tested one ;)) in addition to giving DH a selection to use instead of wondering what I can and can't eat and making grilled chicken or pork chops over and over again. He likes to cook and got all kinds of kitchen gadgets for Christmas and likes to try new recipes, so I feel bad making him grill chicken repeatedly. I think this will help a lot! :)

Wow, you are blessed to have your husband that will cook dinner, and from a recipe journal !!! My husband can/will cook eggs, grilled steak, and boil seafood. That's it !! Your husband sounds like a gem.

HeeHee, he is a gem. He ASKED for a spice rack, silicone kitchen tools, ceramic knives, & silicone grip bakeware for Christmas, and he got them! I made sure of that!;) :rotfl: He enjoys it, and it gets him out of cleaning (which he doesn't like) everything else except the kitchen itself. I love that he cooks, but I can't describe to you how messy he is while doing it! I mean if he makes garlic bread, there is garlic powder ALL OVER the kitchen, and shake n bake means there is about 15 times more shake n bake in the pan than there is on whatever was shaken n baked. :rotfl: (I laugh, but I am NOT exaggerating. :)) So, after I had one too many nervous breakdowns while trying to deal with it, he said he would clean up after himself from then on. :wizard: And he works late 2-3 times a week, so he doesn't cook on those nights. I do have to say that this change in my eating habits has made me more involved in meal planning and will probably have me more involved in the actual cooking too. But yes, DH is a gem...and very "huggy"! (Still a great word to describe him UM!) He's quite supportive. He asked me last Friday night when he got home from work how weigh in day went. And he is very proud of me. :goodvibes

But... I'm HUNGRY! I think my body is starting to catch on that I'm being good - and it's kicked the hunger into overdrive! :sad2:
Your body is trying hard to maintain its current weight....that's its job. But it will adjust quickly to the new habits so don't worry.

Favorite Snacks
1. almonds
.....7 calories per one whole almond. Nothing fills you up like these babies.
2. cereal....small bowl (1/2 cup) high fiber cereal with skim milk. Sticks with ya.
3. Yoplait yogurt....I buy the 6-packs of "original"....110 calories each.
4. dove dark chocolate squares.....40 calories each. Kills the chocolate craving.
5. spinach salad with lo cal dressing......at around 100 calories for a big plate full of spinach, you can't beat it and so good for you.
What is tabouleh?
Mumbler! Where ya been? Tabouleh is bulgar wheat salad with LOTS of parsley....usually there are tomatoes and has a lot of lemon. Very tasty. I buy the Near East variety at Kroger. Very easy to make.
Keep praying for us!
Done! Nothing is worse than a husband with a backache! My DH has surgery for a blown cervical disk. Sounds like your husband may have pulled a muscle or something. Will keep praying for him (and you!)

Mygirlsof2,

So sorry about your DH! :sad2: Hope his back gets better. I agree with winkers, it isn't wrong to worry about your trip. That is your job as the wife. ;) Look at the bright side, if he ends up getting a scooter, you will get to move straight to the front of the line! ;) :thumbsup2

Keep us posted!

Thought I'd let you know a bit about me, I've added a photo (don't know how to make it smaller!) of my family at my step-sisters wedding my DD's were Bridesmaids. (it must have been windy as my hairs a right mess!)

Well My name obviously is Jo and I'm 33 years old but only for a few more weeks! I live in the South East of England only about 1 hour from London, I'm originally from Suffolk a place called Lowestoft which is the most Easterly point of the whole of England, there is a sign and everything. :rotfl2: I have been married to my DH David for 11 1/2 years and we've been together since we were 16, awwwh, we met in a very romantic place - on the golf course! He is a golf pro so it is the only place to meet him. We moved down south for money and DH works very hard and unsociable hours teaching people golf to allow me to stay at home to look after DD Jessica 10 and DD Ellie 8. I am now totally addicted to the DIS but before that took over I enjoyed walking, gardening, reading, holidays (WDW of course, although Lapland was great too) and getting back into golf after a back injury. Like everyone else I am a great taxi service, cleaner, cook etc and wish I had the social life my 86yr old Nan does. :rotfl2:

Weight wise, I go more on dress size which over here is a 14/16 but I love the US sizing as I become a 10/12  I have just bought 2 great US golf skorts in a size 10 and I will make sure the label sticks out. :rotfl: My meals are normally OK it's the inbetween that lets me down! Especially Cadburys dairy milk and Haggen Daz strawberry shortcake - yum. My goal is to be a nice loose 14 (10) any less and my hip bones just won't fit in!

See you all later and don't write too much whilst (Melinda I'm saying whilst!!!!) I'm asleep. :rotfl2:
