More newbies! I love seeing new faces here :) Welcome to the DIS and to WISH!

<b>Rebd40</b> It's never too late to take the WISH challenge. I'm so glad you decided to join us. It sounds like you've got your exercise all planned out, that's great. What kind of eating plan will you follow? Weight Watchers? Atkins? Or do you just plan to make better food choices?

<b>disneyeveryyear</b>, we have lots of WW members here. I'm addicted to Disney and the DIS and married to a man who is severely Disney impaired :rolleyes: He humors me too :teeth:

Sign me up because I'm more than ready to join. I've got so much to look forward to and I don't want anything holding me back! I've already lost five pounds from my heaviest~good start right?! Thanks for all of the support already. Now on to my clipart....

I'm doing WW and working out at Curves 3x/wk. Also I just bought the Pilates videos to do with DD...let's see if I actually use them.
 
Well I was weighed today for the first time in a week, I had lost 3 1/2 ibs felt a little dissapointed as I hear about all these large first week weight losses
Maybe I will do better next week!!

I went to WW this morning and got my base weight. Here I go!!!

I talked to the podiatrist today and I still can't start walking until this heel heals (ha, ha!)

I guess I just have to work with diet for right now!

Glad you joined us, this is a great support group. Even if you can walk, if you realy want to excercize, you can do chair arobics, with just your arms. Keep us posted on your losses.

In just one week, counting points I have lost 5 lbs. As a "lifer" or so it seems dieter, I realize the first week you lose faster than other weeks, but I think I have mastered this point game and it really is easy; you measure and count and if you cheat, you only cheat yourself. When it is in black and white, the number of points eaten for the day is reality!!! Weighed at the drs today and fully dressed down 5, so I consider this to be a good start for me as I am able to say I stayed within range each day. I am already thinking - whoa - rethink that choice it is too many points - and it doesn't take too long to figure out which foods are the lowest points and still make you feel like you have eaten - amazing that those healthy choices are the lowest point counts. WW's allows any food you choose - you decide if the points are worth it. Still love the saying - nothing tastes as good as thin feels! Can't wait to say -yea, it is true!
 
Lost those initial five pounds one month ago, and haven't been able to drop another since. :( I have cut down on the carbs and portion sizes, karate class once a week, weight lift 1/wk, walk the dog 5 out of 7 nights and slip in an aqua class once in a while. All with four girls who are home all the time! Some say I'm building muscle. BAH! Maybe I am, but isn't muscle supposed to burn more calories?!? It's just not happening, and I'm getting FRUSTRATED! :confused: HELP!
 
Good morning everyone,

I started Atkins this week and have been going to Curves for about 6 weeks. I have added my WISH clippie and am ready to get going. I have 30 pounds to lose to be at my goal weight.

I must say that the support and inspiration I have seen here has been wonderful.

Looking forward to being a loser....

This is such a great idea...I never knew about it. I can't believe I missed this till now. I started Weight Watchers in November of 2002. I have 25 lbs gone. I am getting slimmed down for an October Anniversary Cruise. Still have a ways to go, but I am well on my way.

Oops - thought I had taken the challenge when I "joined" a couple of weeks ago - now it looks like I missed the official step. Hope I didn't miss out on the chance to snag that first reward clippie. I finally got it together a week ago (yeah right) and started the WW point system - just trying this on my own but so far so good. I am mentally there and to me that is half of the battle. DD (OhMom) trying also and couple of people at work so there is some support when I just can't get to the board talk! Made it so far within point range each day - tonight first real challenge going out for dinner.
 
ok im in i started a diabetic 1200 calorie diet the first of janurary and i have lost 17 so far accoring to the doctor .i try to walk at least 3 times a week but some week even more .:bounce:
 
Count me in! I have been on the Adkins diet for the past 2 mnths and lost 20 lbs. Good luck to all of you!!!:D I already had a membership to a gym, so I have really increased my Cardio and free-weights workout. I run 15min on the treadmill three days a week, and also through my neighborhood. Anyone with some good (Adkins) snack ideas send them my way. I have tried their Indulge bars and they are really good.
