Hi Babytigger99. I'm so glad to see you here on WISH. Good luck with your new healthy lifestyle.

If you would like to add the WISH challenge clipart to your signature there is a really good post explaining how to do that right HERE

I hope you can visit us often, you are a great addition to our support group. WISH has been very helpful to me and I'm sure you will find it helpful, too.

Hey Ron, fancy meeting you here :teeth: I'm glad you decided to join our support group. Your goal sounds reasonable to me. Good luck with that giving up 1/2 your food plan.

Katholyn

OK, count me in!! (Don't know why I didn't do this before!!)

I started on-line Weight Watchers the 1st of March, and have managed to drop 16 pounds thus far. I like the ease of on-line information without having to attend meetings.

My motivation?? October trip to WDW (of course), and we're staying in a time-share with our own pool/jacuzzi. I was thinkin' I'd really rather not wear a knee-length suit . . . . . . . . .:teeth:

It's great to see you here! I'm so glad you decided to join us. I wish we could have clipart reflecting our weight loss before taking the WISH challenge but we can't :)

I lost 18 pounds before I took the wish challenge but my clipart only reflects 10. That's okay, it's still motivational and fun to trade up those cliparts.

I hope you will join us often. We have lots of WW's here and a terrific support group in place. I love seeing new losers join in :)

Katholyn

I think I need to join.

I did WW online last year and lost a decent amount of weight. I went down two sizes in my pants, but... since my voluntary homeless period (I sold my house) and the stress of dealing with the new house I seem to have lost motivation.

I have not gained much back, but.... NONE is coming off and I quit excersing.

I am going to join WW tomorrow so I have to be honest about my weigh ins.

My goal is just to weigh less than my boyfriend. (That may not be possible, but let's give it a try!)

I'd also like to join the Challenge!

I have been following the Fat Flush Plan since September 16, 2002 and so far have lost 36 pounds! I have another 40 to go.
Hopefully they'll go before I go to Disney World!

I just figured out what the clipart meant and decided to take a look at this thread. Any other time you can find me on the Budget Board.

Are there any other Fat Flushers out there?

Hi LIFERBABE, welcome to WISH. Are you a native Texan too?

I've been flushing fat but I follow the Atkins eating plan. I've never heard of this Fat Flush plan. Sounds like you have been very successful with it, though.

I'm really glad you decide to join this bunch of losers. Everyone is friendly and helpful and encouring here. I love WISH.

I see you have already added your challenge clipart. It is very flattering on you :)

I hope you can visit us often. WISH has been very helpful to me and I am sure it will be helpful to you too. No fair lurking, now, just join right in with us :teeth:

Katholyn

Thanks for the warm welcome!

I am a Native Michigander married to a Native Texan with 2 Native Texan boys.

I see you are in Michigan! LOL

The Fat Flush Plan is a best-selling book by Nutritionist Ann Louise Gittlesman. I checked it out at the library and after losing 12 pounds and 8 inches in the first two weeks, I was hooked. She focuses on women's health and well-being and does not recommend dairy, sugar, salt, or caffeine or soy. I know it sounds radical but it wasn't and she explains everything very well in her book. I feel great, have lots of energy and though I am not the FF poster girl as I have fallen off the wagon more times than Mary from Little House on the Prairie, I have been able to tailor the plan for myself and continue my weight loss.
This is the longest I've stuck to anything and it's more of a personal choice than it is a diet.

Okay here I am three weeks into the Disbords tracker and want to say I am down 5 pounds and can I have it on my do hickey please?!!!

My real total for weight watchers is 37 lost since September 5 and have made this a life style change and want to loose over a 2 year period of time. I figure that since I have done the yo yo dieting in the past in quick downs that to change my mind set on eating and taking it slow might help with keeping off the wieght in the long run.

It is so cool to have a place on the boards to share!!

A great friend told me about this thread...

SSB over the last 15 years or so has tried many different things, and had varying success... by far the best has been the last year and a half, as I had to do something to compensate for lost exercise due to my back injury.... I thought that I would gain a good bit of weight is not, and surprisingly lost weight instead.

About 12 years ago, SSB was 245 at peak, and moved to 200 range and stayed there for many years, thinking not possible for less than that as I really only eat one meal a day, but was always a very big dinner.

After the back injury, I started working with a personal Pilates trainer here in Orlando, to try to strengthen my core muscles in support of my back. I saw her for about 10 weeks or so, and learned a slew of "core strengthening" exercises. I also did some work on the machines, but fairly limited.

I religiously do my battery of about an hour of pilates exercises coupled with 100-200 push ups (not at once.. haha) 3 times a week, sometimes four....and is has surely helped by back, posture, and I am sure the exercise very good as well.

As far as diet, I switched from eating a lot of carbs, to eating a pound or so of very lean protein on buns at night. My fave, that I probably eat 5 of 7 nights, is "Maverick Ground Round Beef", which is only 4% fat. It tastes great, is very very lean, and easy to cook. (Except when I burn them from chattin' on the phone while cooking... haha). I also drink beer (shocking, I know), which does not have fat, but carbs, but seen to do ok with.

Doing this, SSB had dropped from the 200 range to a life long goal of 175, one that I thought that I would never see in my lifetime, and then to 160, which is where I reside right now. If I ever drop below that, I am now able to allow myself to splurge a bit here and there, to maintain at that exact weight. I was shocked that it panned out as well as it did... and just gave blood and cholesterol is 186, so about the same as before. If I can maintain at this level, and now enjoy exercising even more, all the better.

For first time in over a year, I served a couple of hundred tennis balls last weekend, and hoping to be back out there again this weekend for a few hundred more. Wish me luck, as has been WAY too long, to be able to even "run". Wild how you take that for granted, and such a blessing when it is there.

Very best of luck to everyone, and Happy Easter!!

SSB,

Thank you so much for dropping by! :) It's so wonderful to read success stories and yours certainly is just that. Please come by often, we need all of the support and encouragement we can get.

Amazing story, SSB. Here I thought you were just one of those naturally skinny people

I hope you will join our support group. I need all the help I can get.

Betsey send Kelsie a pm or any moderator really, if you don't know how to add the clipart yourself. There is a thread stuck to the top of WISH that has some great instructions on how to add it.

Katholyn

SSB, when I grow up I want to be like you. thanks for dropping by and thanks for the support!

I just went back on Atkins yesterday - got through day two no sweat! :)

Last year I lost 50lbs on the plan and kept it off - now I would like to get back on board and loose another 40lbs.

I will feel so much healthier and have so much more energy! Just got to do it!

:bounce: :bounce:

Welcome, welcome, Cyn. You're going to be trading up to that 5 or 10 pound loss clippie very, very soon.

I'm so glad to see you here :teeth:

I'd like to take the DIS Wish Challenge!! I would love to lose 20 pounds and have been trying unsuccessfully for quite a while. I bought the Atkins book a few weeks ago, but am having a hard time completely cutting out carbs. I'm a total carb addict. I do pretty well during the week, but blow it on the weekends. Also, I just went from a job where I was on my feet all day to one that mostly involves sitting. I'm going to WDW in four weeks and would love to drop five pounds by then, and am going back in nine weeks with my kids, their friends and my nephew, and would be ecstatic if I could be ten pounds less. I just can't seem to do it on my own. I recently ordered walking tapes and Tai Bo tapes, and they are collecting dust in my bedroom. Where oh where is my willpower??? Anyway, I've had it, and I am determined to do it this time. So, please, can I join your club?

Ok Kels ;) ok ok I'm here kicking and screaming ;) JK I was going to wait until I weigh in on Wed but ............. count me in. I joined WW last wednesday. I joined LA Fitness 2 weeks ago and have been going regularly. It's just time for a change. I'm tired of being out of shape, not liking how I look and wearing bigger size clothing. So.........count me in.

YES!! Nikole is in the house!!!

It's great to see you hear my friend :)

Grab a clipart and make yourself at home. This is a great place and we will do this together.

OK, I'd like to join the challenge! Planning on getting back on Jenny Craig this Thursday. Lost 50 lbs on it back in 1990 and hope to get rid of what I gained back over the last 13 years.

I do a lot of community theatre and I don't want my weight to be a detriment at those auditions!

I'm also a diabetic, and have been needing to not only watch my sugar, but also cholesterol and trigylcerides, as I'm prone to pancreatitis. Don't want to end up back in the hospital and home health care for 4 months with an IV in my neck again!

Please let me know what I need to do to "weight in" with you guys and do the clip art thingy, and any other info I may need.

You sound like a great bunch of people and I know we can be there for each other. I've been on the Community Board for a while now, but didn't know about the Wish Board.

Looking forward to a terrific friendship!:D
