Nope. The word filter will catch any filtered words in them, though.

ARE they seen or CAN they be seen? That's the question. It's been asked, but has never quite been answered, but from what I've "heard", the capability exists for administrators/webmasters/moderators (?) to read them, but they have much better things to do than to read everyone's (anyone's?) PM. :)

Snow brite- It's a question of traffic, if the DL boards get busier we will expand them

The member list is not coming back any time in the near future. It causes load issues and a lot of people wanted privacy

As for PM's being read it's been answered several times including the last time we had this thread.
http://disboards.com/showpost.php?p=8222485&postcount=67
and I have repeated that answer in several other threads.

Well the quickest way to get a new board is to send a check for $432.98 to me, you will even get a free set of Ginzu knives!
......And what was that address to send the check to again?? :listen: Those knives certainly sound appealing! :rotfl2:

Ah! Thanks Alex. I read the DIS in spurts and I didn't see that particular thread, altho I have seen the question asked before, and recall vague responses similar to WebmasterKathy's above. But yes, that link is much clearer. Thanks. :)

can i be tag fairy for a day? :bitelip:

It's ok, the question comes up quite often and I like to give consistent answers.

What a lot of people don't realize is that almost anything on the internet can be read by someone. As an example I know of a case where an employee was using Hotmail to send out info from his company computer. He thought he was safe since he wasn't using the company email system. The company was able to figure it out pretty easily though.

You know I told someone that story in a PM just yesterday. Hmmmmm.....:scratchin

Is the "official" correct pronunciation

a) "DIS" boards

or

b) "DIZ" boards

Inquiring minds want to know.

That was discussed here a long time ago, and I remember being surprised how many people say "DIZboards". It's my understanding tho that "DIS" stands for "Disney Information Station" and therefore, *I* would think it would be "DIS" for "Station" and not "DIZ" for "DISNEY". :confused3

Oh, I just thought of something! How about a Procrastinators Support Group Board! (As I sit here on the computer when I should be ABC-through-XYZing.)

If you ever get around to it...

:lmao:
What a coincidence.
I sit here a lot on the computer when I should be ABC-through-XYZing.:surfweb:

In fact, I am sitting here on the computer right now while I should be ABC-through-XYZing.

I have a feeling that if there was a Procrastinators Support Group Board, I wold be spending even more time on the computer than I am now and my ABC-through-XYZing would never get done. ;)

Unless, of course, everyone puts off posting to it. ;)

I've got a book "The Procrastinator's Handbook" that I haven't gotten around to reading yet. I bought it after borrowing one from the library and getting a notice saying "The following book is overdue: The Procrastinator's Handbook."
