DIS oldtimers (well newtimers too) where are you?

I was never a frequent poster, and never did any of the DIS meets, but I do recognize a lot of the names and faces here in this thread. I've been a DISer for a little over 10 years. I visit other message boards every now and then, but this one I always come back to :goodvibes:

I like when this thread pops up too. I'm pretty much a just a lurker here on the DIS now, but it's nice to see familiar names again- and I recognize people in some of those pics! I can't believe how long ago it was that I used to go to all those DIS meets.

A quick update on my life:
I got married in November, and my new husband got hired to work as a software engineer in Silicon Valley. We moved to Northern CA in January! It was very hard for me to leave WDW, but I'm trying to find new opportunities here.

Congratulations AngieBelle. May you and your husband enjoy many years of happiness (and many trips to Disneyland) together. Best of luck to him and his career in Silicon Valley.

Time to resurrect this thread. I have been away for years, but love seeing the old names I knew and loved. And thanks to WillyJ, I found out that cold corn is yummy!

Hi everyone . Loved reading old posts. The DIS was a big part of our lives and a pathway to new friends and new ways to enjoy Disney, wishing you all the best,
We don't get back to WDW as much these years, end high school for the kids and starting college. Soon it will be me and DH alone. For awhile anyways. Still go for a few days here and there but miss the old times. Can't believe our first visit was when the kids were two and three and now in college. Maybe we should start a post with a first visit picture and a today picture!
Love seeing the old names and updates. pixiedust:

RIP Mackey Mouse :(

I didnt know :(

That's why I posted it. I don't come here and browse the posts much anymore. However, threads I'm subscribed to send me emails when there's activity. So, I posted that brief message just for others like me who won't see the other threads that get posted.

Mackey was a very special person. CarolAnnC is Tommy's cousin, so she always felt extra close to her. We visited her in the hospital in February, knowing it could well be the last time we saw her, but Carol always remained hopeful that Mackey would recover at least long enough to fulfill her dream of another Disney trip to experience it through her grandchildren.

What an awful shame about Marsha. :( I enjoyed meeting her, once many years ago. My condolences to her family and friends.

This news made me cry. I spoke with Marsha on the phone once. She had a loving spirit about her. Many prayers for her loving family and friends.

Aw, how sad. Thanks for letting us know. My heart goes out to her family and friends. :(

I haven't seen CarolAnn post in ages and ages, has she been sick?

That's very sad news John. My condolences to all who knew and loved her.

CarolAnnC is doing well. Real life just gets in the way, and like many here, she simply doesn't spend as much time on the DIS as she used to. She tends to keep in touch with most people via Facebook these days. You can also find her on the May 2013 West Bound Panama Canal cruise thread. ;)
