Sad news about an old-time DISer today brought me back to the DIS, as sad news often does. While its been many years since I've been active here, its still a 'home' to me. When I'm feeling sad, I want some place 'comfortable' and, for me, the DIS will always be such a place.
Judi, I'm just seeing the news of John. I am so very sorry. It seems weird to have tears streaming down my face on the news of a man I never met and a DISer I was never close with....yet there they are. An amazing lady, for sure. When I was newly married and trying to figure this marriage thing out, stroies of you & John gave me hope for what marriage could be.
As for me...last time I was ont he DIS, I was planning for a trip to WDW after we moved back stateside. We had a wonderful, albeit very cold trip. WDW has always been magical to me, of course, but I never knew how magical it could be until we went with our three kiddos. Jim is now stationed at Fort Bliss, so El Paso is our new home. Only 850 miles to Disneyland! We are planning to go next fall.
So very good to see so many familiar faces.
Dang. Big V, Moof (all three of them) and Dopeygirl all stumbling about on the old timer thread. Wow.
Big V, have you been to see https://www.facebook.com/crazylightshow?sk=wall&filter=2 up in Kaukana? That's my cousin's show.
It seemed like old times earlier this month when I shared a bus ride from the Animal Kingdom Lodge to DHS with Dan Murphy and Ray Sharpton. It reminded me just how fortunate I have been to befriend folks whom I would otherwise have never had the opportunity to get to know.
Merry Christmas and wishes for a prosperous 2012 for all.
Jeff, I'm still trying to shame my DH into making that Mickey icon shaped planter you made. It's a no go.Dang. Big V, Moof (all three of them) and Dopeygirl all stumbling about on the old timer thread. Wow.

For some of us, it's a 10 year anniversary. I met so many wonderful people that long weekend in December 10 years ago! It was the best thing I ever did. We had a blastand I'm so happy that we continue to stay in touch.
Merry Christmas to all and Happy New Year!!![]()
