Dis Mom's Club?

Its so great to see we're still collecting new moms!:cool1: Must thank Suellen for starting this thread! :worship: I'm surprised no one has thought of it before...

MickeyMom~ I'm sorry you had a rough day. I hope everything works out for your DD! And listening is what we're here for!:surfweb: Thank you for the peanut butter play dough recipe! I can't wait to try it with DS2 and DD4.

Mommyintn~ I feel your pain. I got way to much sun today and DH is teasing me that I'm going to be a lobster for Easter!:headache:

Again, I'm not off to a great start on my "no buy" month, but I got a great deal at Walmart today, one I just couldn't pass up. :rotfl:

Thanks

And I saw your deal on No Buy---great deal! :cool1:

Hi! This is an awesome idea!!! I am in!
My name is Jennifer and I am Mom to Kyle (2 1/2) and Aiden (10 weeks). My husband is pretty awesome about my Disney obession! He does a lot of listening :thumbsup2 Kyle can't wait to go back to "Mickey's House" so I am pretty sure I will have some help in planning our next trip ;) I work part time at a pharmacy and I love being home with my boys the rest of the time!

Welcome Patrice and all the new moms who came so fast together that I lost count and didn't get to say hi. :thumbsup2 The more moms the more fun.

So today was kind of one of those days. I took Ariel to the eye doctor this morning. Her wandering eye is getting worse (I could have told you that without the $60 co pay) but anyway, she is now in phase 2 of trying to correct it. That is patching her bad eye for 3 hours then patching her good eye for 3 hours every day alternating. She needs to do it for 3 hours a day, so not too bad. I really hope this works since phase 3 is surgery. It was scary hearing them say that. I really hope this pacthing works. Anyone have experience with this? Good outcomes to share?

Then we came home and played and it was nice. But I got hot so I came in and watched them from inside and didn't I sign on to Facebook and I had a friend request. It was my bio-father's youngest daugter. UGGG, I just mentioned them on here what 2 days ago, 3 maybe.

This is not the first contact from her. The last came at Christmastime 2008 and before that was Thanksgiving 2006. I remember because both times were right when we got home from Disney, one time it was waiting when we got home and the other was a couple weeks later. I feel bad for her that she wants to know all her father's children (from my understanding there are 9 all together) but it is not something I want to be a part of. Grumpy has tried to tell them that I am sorry, I don't wish any of them harm, but to start in my 30 meeting all them is just not something I have in me. I was hurt too badly and can't get over it. Anyway, I hate that they do it at the holidays. I get that then is when she thinks of family, I understand since I have no family and this time of year wonder what it would have been like to have had one, but I just can't do it. I was hurt too bad. So anyway, coming in to that made the day go sour again.

And I didn't get picked for the Disney Mom's Club In Home Celebration this year. I did last year so I can't complain but it just added to the day. I'm not really that upset but I don't think I would have been upset at all on any other day.

On a good note, the girls and I made peanut butter playdough today. Has anyone ever had that at the Coral Reef? My kids loved it so we make it from time to time. Since I had all the ingredients and I needed a Disney Pick Me Up, we made some. We also decorated eggs. We usually do it on Easter but today seemed like a good day so we did it. There was one issue there too that got to me, but I got over it. Another "any other day it wouldhave been nothing" things.

Our fridge has been freezing things for several months. We need a new one but I am not there yet. Well I bolied the eggs as I always do but half way through coloring them Pluto dropped one and it cracked and it was softboiled! They must have gotten too cold and so they had to come to a normal temp first so they didn't cool all the way. I reboiled them but they all cracked. 3 dozen craked eggs. They are fine to eat but wern't pretty to color so I used my last dozen to cook and cooked longer and thankfully we have a dozen pretty eggs and 3 dozen less them pretty but still colorful eggs. :rotfl2:

So, all was well when Grumpy came home an d wrapped his arms around me and all was well again. Tink is at her friend's tonight so the 4 of us are going to hang out and relax and rest up for a "way too filled but it will be fun" tomorrow.

We have the Town Egg Hunt at 10am. It is fun and Ariel's last year she can go becuase it is only up to age 8. So we will take her there. Then we are going to Adventure Landing for their egg hunt at 11. After that we will go to Michael's for free craft day and Home Depot to build butterfly houses then run home for some lunch (or I may break down and have a bite out) then our BIG egg hunt is at 3 so I want to get there by 2 to get all the eggs out. After that we are going to bring the kids home and Grumpy and I are going on our date. Not sure what we are doing yet, but a date somewhere.

Yep, tomorrow will be a busy day but so much fun I know. Looking forward to it.

Tonight I am looking forward to the new Wife Swap. I don't know why but I like that show and since we have nothing going on tonight I am happy to sit back and watch.

Sorry it was so long, if yo uare still reading thanks for listening. And if you have any experience with kids and wandering eye/eye surgery let me know. Thanks!

Thanks a bunch for the welcome!

Many hugs for you!:grouphug: Tomorrow is another day! Wake up feeling refreshed and take on the day. Blessings for you and your family.

Good Morning Ladies!!

My Mom came up to stay over last night and while talking with her and my DH about Erin's Easter basket, I mentioned that I have a few small toys to put in there as well. She couldn't believe it, she doesn't ever remember putting toys in our (I have 2 brothers) baskets, I just replied that the Dis Mom's club all do it it so it must be the new thing to do, and yet she thought I didn't easily fall for peer pressure ;)

I am taking Erin and my DNiece Ashley to Albany for a Playhouse Disney show and then an early Easter dinner at my brother's, then back home with just Erin to color some eggs. We'll see how it goes, DH has been working a lot lately and will likely be stuck again today. At least it's overtime..

Have a good day!

Morning Ladies! Preparing the house today for our Easter Celebration tomorrow.

Must try that peanut butter play dough. Though I don't think I can let them eat it after playing with it..... the OCD in me jumps out... all I could think about is how dirty it would seem after playing with it.

FWIW we have been to Coral Reef for the past 3 years and no Peanut Butter Playdoh for the girls.

We haven't done Home Depot kids stuff but it sounds interesting and the girls do like artsy type projects. Will have to check that out sometime.

:) Glad we are still getting new moms too!

Just poking my head in to say HELLO and I'm so glad this group got started!! I'm supposed to be blogging (shhhh) but I had to stop in and at least give a quick introduction before the thread got any longer.

Kimberly - just turned 43, Disney lover from waaaaay back since we lived so close to Disneyland. We live in Myrtle Beach, SC which is way too far from WDW! I'm a professional portrait photographer who's currently working a long-term commercial job photographing hotels for a major chain. I help out with DH's travel agency as the Communications Mouse, handling blogging, keeping up with our Facebook Fan Page, and other stuff like that.

Robert - travel agent who specializes in Disney, lover of Grumpy & Goofy, and brand new DVC owner. Just a few points to try out the whole DVC idea for our family but it should be fun. Life-long Yankees fan as well.

Drew - 21 - attends Coastal Carolina University and is a choral conducting major. He'll be in school for a LONG time as he needs his doctorate to teach at the college level.

Bryce - 19 - attends Rochester Institute of Technology and is an engineering major. He, like his older brother, missed the Disney-loving gene and they choose not to go with us very often.

Mia - 7 - our Chinese Disney Princess who loves all things Disney just as much as her parents!

We'll be homeschooling Mia next year (well, starting this summer) and it'll free us up for even more trips to the World!

Welcome to the new moms out there! :welcome:

So today is my one day to do all my Easter stuff. Crazy! But I'm sure I can get it done. This is me thinking positively. :lmao:

I'm going to try to enjoy my coffee before the chaos starts. Hopefully, all the other late Easter shoppers won't mow me down. :rotfl: So much to do!

Have a great day everyone!

Yay! More home schoolers! That's wonderful! I hope you enjoy homeschooling as much as we do. We didn't start until my son was in 6th grade (he starts 9th this Fall..yikes! :scared1:) but we have really enjoyed it.

And welcome to you! I hope you enjoy it here! :goodvibes

Been out for a few days. Hope everyone is ready for tomorrow. We stuffed our eggs and baskets last night.

Yes, I give a small (under $10 toy) toy for Easter. We hide both eggs and the baskets someplace in the yard. This year I'm hiding "golden eggs" and when they open them up, they'll see a picture of the item they can have (since they don't fit in the basket).

Then I just put some candy for the 4 yo, Toy Story 1 and a happy meal toy that she really wanted (the blue two-headed dragon) in her basket.

The youngest got Gerber "puffs", Toy Story 2 and a Zhu Zhu pet (yes, she loves to chase her sister's around on the floor) in her basket.

I have a question, Ladies. I have about 10lbs still to lose to get to my "prebaby" weight... But even that was 10lbs heavier then the last time! :rolleyes1 So, how have you lost weight? (If you've ever needed to or wanted to). I do pretty good if I have "someone" to hold me accountable... So if you all don't mind I'm going to use you or this board as my "someone." :goodvibes

My goal is lose 15-20lbs. I'm going to start using the treadmill again and get the family to go on walks in the evenings since its finally nice out.

Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Ditto on the weight loss... except I need to lose about 100lbs.

I am glad the weather here is getting nicer so we can walk outside and play outside and get fresher veggies! YUM!

Add me to this list!! I've just been craving junk food and this is soooo bad.

I was just thinking yesterday ... I have 97 days until my next Disney trip. That is more than enough time to drop some weight. And then I can reward myself with new clothes for Disney!!

My biggest weakness is eating snacks at night. I try to eat nothing after 7pm but then my DH will make chips and cheese or eat ice cream and want to sit and talk with me or watch "Idol". And then I just cave....

But yes, I'm trying to get outside and walk everyday -- telling my 4yo that we have to be ready for Disney -- and what's funny is that she is reminding me!!:lmao:

First off to Kimberly, we are about 5 minutes from RIT. That is where my oldest would like to attend. She goes to anime conventions there all the time and just loves the campus.

As for loosing weight. I lost 25 pounds last year on the WiiFit, unfortunatly our board broke and I haven't done well since. I really need to get a new one. I miss it.

So we had such a busy day today. This was our day.
10am Town Egg Hunt
11am Adventure Landing Egg Hunt
12pm Micheal's Free Craft Day
1pm Home Depot
(quick run to Walmart for ice and cups)
2pm Set up Girl Scout Egg Hunt
3pm GS Egg Hunt
Then we hung out there with friends till 5, the kids played on the playground and we talked about our Disney trips that are overlapping in November.
Home to drop off kids and stuff then we looked at each other and decided we were too wiped out to get ready to go on a date. I hate that we skipped it but we were just worn out. We ran and got pizza and are now just relaxing. We were going to hit Redbox but were too tired for even that. :lmao: The kids, however, are still paying out in the yard. Where do they get the energy?

It was a great day, but I am beat! Need to stuff some eggs and make some scavenger hunt cards. But later, I am taking a break. :lmao:

New to the DISboards!

I'm Courtney. I'm 26 and have a serious Disney addiction. I LOVE anything Disney.:lovestruc Of course I have been away from my home away from home for three years now. :sad1: Baby building a new home and husband at a new job. I did go while I was pregnant with my daughter but that was my last trip and I miss it so much. Was planning to go this year when we found out I am pregnant with number 2! But because the baby would be only three months old when we were planning to go I caved and pushed it back to next year.

Carl is learning to be a Disney freak. I took him for his second time four years ago. :thumbsup2 He seems almost excited as I am about taking our kids to Disney. He knows it will be a yearly thing ;)

Trinity Jane our little princess.princess: Loves all things princess, Minnie, Daisy and Fairies. Good thing she loves Fairies because Mommy is a Tinkerbell freak. She gets excited every time a Disney commercial comes on. Looks like I am training her very well and that it is time for a visit. She will be four by the time we visit.

Our little bug we don't know what we are having yet. Should know by the first or second week of May. I am sure he or she will be just as excited about going to Disney as we all are!

I am blessed to be a SAHM. I grew up going to Disney every year, sometimes twice a year. I will be doing the same thing with my kids. My mom got sick in 2003 and wanted to move from Ohio to Orlando. So my dad sold his business and was lucky to find a development right behind the Magic Kingdom. We could see the fireworks every night from our front porch. We could also hear the music from the parade. It was the best! I worked at Virgin Megastore on downtown Disney, it is no longer there. After living there for almost three years I moved back to Ohio. I love Disney but I missed the seasons. I don't know what I was thinking. I am excited to get back to Disney and staying on property. I have friends tell me I am crazy for taking my kids so young but that is because they don't truly know Disney and know there are things for the little ones to do and see.

Our first family trip will be Dec 2011 and we are planning on staying a CBR. I can't believe I have never stayed there. I plan on giving every resort a chance. Growing up we mostly stayed at the All Star Music and I loved it but I want to try other resorts. I am hoping to join the DVC but need to save the money up. Too bad my dad sold his.

Well I think that is enough about me and I am sure I will get to know you girls better soon!! :grouphug:

I'm with yall on the weight loss. I have the wii fit now I just need to use it. I was great for a month or so after I first got it - didn't lose any weight but I did feel better.

Thanks to my mom I got the boys easter baskets done. They are getting their first Chocolate bunnies  I went with See's so they will now be expecting good chocolate every easter :) They are getting a block set and a wooden train track from my mom.

Only bad thing is it's freezing here in Cali right now and their easter outfits are shorts - who knew it would be soo cold. Now I"m not sure what they will wear tomorrow for church.

We went to see the easter bunny today at a local museum. The bunny arrived by helicopter the boys loved that. They were way more interested in the helicopter then the bunny though  so we did avoid most of the crowds because everyone else followed the bunny inside but the boys wanted to stay out and watch the helicopter get put back in it's hanger.

I'm with all of you on the weight loss. I have 15 more lbs I want to lose. Hopefully this warm weather will be incentive for me since this winter I wasn't very motivated and my weight loss sort of slowed down. I have lost 45 lbs since last July, lots of working out, a few herbal cleanses to help jump start my weight loss and once I get going I get on a kick.

Hope everyone has a nice Easter! I'm waiting for the boys to fall asleep to finish stuff the eggs for their egg hunt tomorrow.

I'm just a few days old on this thread but everyone's been super nice!

Alright I'm in for the weightloss, I need 10lbs to be gone so I feel ok and then maybe another 7 to be where I want to be. Truth is I HATE sweating but have made myself get on the treadmill the last few days, only 1.5 miles each time but I figure something is better than nothing and I'll work my way up. If I could be down 10lbs by May 21st it would be awesome! I was with weight watchers after I had my last son and it was awesome to keep you accountable and I lost weight. Key is regardless if you write down everything you eat you might stop eating something you don't need too!

And tell me about the herbal cleanse....

You ARE the energizer bunny girlfriend!!:worship::worship::worship:

Of course you were wiped out!! Sounds like fun though! My hubby did a ton of yardwork and planted our garden today. We also had an egg hunt in the backyard with the neighbors it was fun! The boys are still out back playing baseball in the dark, gotta go throw them in the bath.

HeHe, maybe Duracell but not Energizer cause I am done! DH is rubbing my feet and I am just about asleep already. Still have eggs to do but the kids are still awake so he said for me to close my eyes and he'd wake me in an hour or so. I may just be taking him up on that. We'll see. I am listening to the wind pick up and feeling the breeze and it is very relaxing!

Hi Everyone!
Hope you all are having a wonderful weekend! We had a cookout today, my mom, dad, and mom in law all came over. Kyle was excited to have a "party" and I really enjoyed myself! We were going to watch the Blind Side, but I think everyone was pretty tired and ready to go home, which was ok by me!
I need to lose a few pounds also....but I am not saying how much ;)....good thing spring is about here and I can get out and walk!
Well I need to run get Easter stuff ready!!!! Have a happy Easter everyone!
