Dis Mom's Club?

I so wish I could try one of the famous Dole Whips, but I'm allergic to pineapple. :sad2:
I'd like to know what a Kaki Gori, is too?:confused3

Kaki Gori is a shaved ice treat from the Japanese pavilion in the World Showcase. It's really good! If I remember right the flavors are honeydew, strawberry and..tangerine. You can also get all the flavors called Rainbow. :thumbsup2

5 minutes here, 5 minutes there...I often reward myself with 5 or 10 minutes on DIS for things like get the dishes put away, get 5 minutes. Right now I am giving myself 5 minutes for taking Ariel to dance. Sad, but true, then I will give myself some time fter making dinner. :lmao:

KAKI GORI is the most refreshing, yummy treat. It is in Japan at a little stand. It is on the order of a snowcone, but the shavings are different and the flavors are so good. Soooo full of flavor. The flavors are honeydew, tangarine and strawberry or all 3 which is what I get! Just such good flavor and so cool and refreshing. Oh I want one so bad! I am not a snowcone fan but these I could eat all day. It is more of a snow then ice almost. Hard to explain but you must try. And get your own, you won't regret it. I will never make that mistake again.

Ok, year after year I pass by here and never have tried one. I really don't like snow-cones so figured this was the same thing. You are the first person to say they aren't a snow cone.

Now, maybe I'll have to try one.

For those of you who had one (and also had snow cones), is the taste "syrupy sweet" ... like you are just eating iced pancake-flavored syrup??

I HATE Snowcones! But I love these. The flavor is good, not syrupy. It is somehow different and they aren't like ice like a snowcone, it is more like a snow almost. Like a SNOWcone should be, but isn't. SOOOO, good, andlike I said, I HATE snowcones.

We really like all of the Disney restaurants but find ourselves most in love with Whispering Canyon Cafe and Cinderella's Royal Table.

The trip in March we went to Tony's which is nice but really I can get Italian food where I live. We also did Le Cellier for the first time. It was nice and they had really good food...just not the kid friendliest. We hit up Prime Time Cafe for the first time. They had good food and the kids loved it. :thumbsup2

For December we are doing Chef Mickey's, Cinderella's Royal Table, Boma, Whispering Canyon and Ohana's. The only one we have not done is Boma and my DH has been wanting to try this for awhile now. We are hoping to make it to Trails End as well but don't think that I can fit that in the schedule. Oh well, one more reason for another trip. :cool1:

Hi all! I have a lot of catching up to do! I worked yesterday ~ then went to my mom's birthday party. Didn't even get the girls in bed until 10!

For places to eat. Our style is old favorites with a few new added in.

This time we are trying Teppan Edo, Tony's Town Square and Yachtsman Club. We try to do LeCellier and all the character dining every time. DD loves Chef Mickey's. :)

I have a playdate at my house in about 1/2 hour and I haven't showered yet and both the girls are just in their morning wake up phase. So I gotta get moving. I will try to read through everything and catch back up this afternoon!

Oh... and we are now in the 40's for number of days until our trip!!

Good Morning Everyone!

So last night Tink (15) said her best friend's family is going to Disney the week after us! In fact, their first day in the park is the day we are eaving. Grumpy said we should postpone a day but the problem with that is IF free dining or another good promotion comes out we will need to check in by Saturday (which is what we are doing) to get it for the week. He said then let's just extend a day! That is a good  but still a  . He is not supposed to take more then a week at a time, but he seems to think that if he works enough from Florida they won't care. Eitehr way he has to work so he said what's the difference if he works poolside or there. OK, so I call my grandparents who are :cloud9: about this, they would stay a month if we could. So then I say no, she will miss too much school. So I see last night our new calender got posted for next year's vacation and they gave the kids an extra day off, so now if we did add a day she'd still be missing the same number of days I had planned. (All of them are missing but she is the one I worry about being in HS.) She is a really good student and has never had issues catching up but Istill was nervous. Grumpy asked her what she tought and she said she would be fine. So all that is left is me, the Disney nut. Does that make sense? The one who loves it there the most is the one dragging her feet on adding a day. I am worried that we won't get a deal. We have never stayed on property at rack rate. We aren't there now, I had a pin to save us a little but I mean a real little. Grumpy said IF we don't get a deal, which he believes we will, then we have had a good run on great discounts so not to worry about it. And that Tink is a good kid, wouoldn't ever ask for anything like Spring Break (not that I would let her go, but still) and that this is a small amount of money to pay for her to have fun with a friend. I know he is right, but seeing our bill with such a small discount was :scared1::scared1::scared1: ! I think I will probably call and add it even if we change our minds later. Easier to remove a day later then add one once they start booking up.

I can't imagine 9 nights. That seems like so much longer then 8! :rotfl:

She has another friend who will be there overlapping our trip. They will spend a day together too. She is a month older then Tink so they will both be 16 and her sisters will be 10, 8 and 2. My 10 and 8 year olds are friends with her sisters and I with mom so we will be spending one day together too. That will be fun. They are staying 12 days. Guess I can tell myself that at least Tink isn't missing that much school. ;)

So today I need to get enough candy to fill, and then fill the 400 eggs for our egg hunt this weekend. I bought the eggs yesterday but the candy at Big Lots where the eggs were cheapest didn't look too good. I also have to picl up Pluto at 2 for an orthodontist appointment to tighten her braces. Then she is hoping to get back to band by 3:30 but I am not holding my breath. Then she has dance at 4:30. I need to get a few groceries in there too, so I better get moving.

Hope everyone has a great day!

I caved. I just added a day to our trip. I said I would if it was under $3000 and it was, barely. I feel a little nervous but I know on November 28th when we should be checking out that I will be thrilled to have that one more day! :cool1:

Ooh.. The favorite restaurant question.. Tough one.. We have a few..

Favorite Character Meal for interaction: Garden Grill

Favorite Character Meal for food: 'Ohana (breakfast)

Favorite overall meal: SOO tough.. It's a toss up between 'Ohana and Liberty Tree Tavern (lunch)

MickeyMomof3- Just wondering how your back is doing? Sounds like you are busy! Hope all is better!!! :goodvibes

Good afternoon everyone! Busy day at work today, I have to travel tomorrow for business so I had to prepare for it today.

I think our favorite place to eat is a toss up between Chef Mickey's and Crystal Palace - simply because they are character meals. We have to hit those very time we go. Usually hit Crystal Palace the first morning we are there, get in before the park opens so we can get a pic in front of the castle without a crowd behind us ;)

I now appreciate how much my parents put into making my Easter baskets growing up.

Yikes!! Good thing we aren't starting counting our no-buy days until tomorrow!

I did get 4 DVD's though: Princess and the Frog, Toy Story, Toy Story 2 and Snow White.

I think they will enjoy them all. :) And NO CANDY! I know the relatives will give them enough of that stuff.

Hope everyone had a good day today! Tomorrow is a work day for me so I won't be around until evening.

Have good trip tomorrow PilotWife!

Oh, our favorite meals. Well I said Chef Mickey. We do it every trip and always have and always will. And I mentioned we love WCC. But our 2 favorite simply based on food are LeCellier for TS and WPE for CS. Back to stuffing eggs....

Well, I just got done filling 400 eggs for our egg hunt Saturday. Tomorrow I have to fill the treat bags. I hope 400 eggs is enough. What do you all think? If I say 10 a kid is that enough? I don't know, I have extra candy I was going to just throw in the treat bags, I may go buy some more eggs tomorrow. I don't want it to be chintsy, and I want them to be able to have fun. Yeah, I think I will go buy some more eggs.

You all are good listeners. :rotfl:

I am really excited for this egg hunt being that it is for all kids, older included. Our town has a great egg hunt and I am taking Ariel this year but the oldest you can be is 8, so this is her last year and Pluto misses being a part of it. I know they have to stop at some age but 8 seems so young, like they are too old for it or something. :confused3 So, this way all the older kids can have some fun. And with it being 70 on Saturday, I see a fun time of playing at the park after the egg hunt. :goodvibes

Alright, it is time for me to call it a night. Goodnight moms!

Good Morning, Ladies!

Well its going to be busy the next few days... and the weather is supposed to be very nice!

My desktop finally decided to stop working, so now I have to take it apart and put a new hard drive into it. UGH:badpc: I guess its a good thing my mom taught me how to do all that. LOL :goodvibes

Is it just me or has this week flown by? I still have to get the basket part of my oldests Easter baskets and decide what we're taking for the family Easter get together... I guess today isn't going to be a good start to my "No Buy" starter month.:rotfl:

Well guess I'm off to get ready for the day!

I am not going to have a good start to No Buy either. Tonight is the kids school fundraiser at Chuck E Cheese, so today is out. Tomorrow Ariel has to go to the eye doctor, though I am not sure a copay should count towards a no buy day. Seems it is more of a scheduled bill. Saturday could be, but Grumpy and I have made a pact to date at least once a week and have been doing it for a few years now. Saturday will probably be a date night so there goes Saturday (though so worth it.) Since we don't have much family and non within 8 hours away, holidays are sort of different for us (unless we go home, which we aren't.) So we will probably go somewhere or do something in the afternoon, maybe Niagara Falls since it is going to be so nice. We'll see. But no, not a good start.

So, I am off to go stuff the treat bags for our egg hunt. I am filling 48 bags with punching balloons, bunny catch toys, sticky bunnies and suckers. This may take a while. I am also caught up on laundry! BUT am now washing all the winter coats to finally pack them away. :laundy:

Hope everyone has a good day. I will probably reward myself with a little DIS time later on after I get some bags stuffed. :thumbsup2

:scared1: AGHHH! You'll make it snow!! :scared1:

We have had unseasonably warm weather here for Minnesota and about 2 weeks ago I washed all the hats & mittens & snowpants. Silly me! 2 days later we had a few days in the 20's and rain/sleet/snow. DH reminded me that it always happens when I pack winter clothes away. (wow, the power I must possess! :worship:)

It's been SO nice here. In the mid 70's yesterday! Last year we had 3 feet of snow left by the end of April, now it's the 1st and the grass is starting to green and I'm working on my flower beds. I love springtime!:flower3:

I seriously feel like a bad mom right now.. I honestly have not even thought about Easter yet..

With my husband's birthday tomorrow and my son's Science project due next week, my thoughts have been elsewhere! UGH! Well, I guess I still have a few days to worry about trying to get things ready.. Oh boy! I hope I can do it!

Of course you can!! Mom's have a super power that kicks in when our family needs us! :cool1:
The good thing is now most Easter stuff is on sale. We reuse our baskets every year, and the eggs too. Target has some great little goodie things. I almost never shop at Kmart but last week had to, and was waiting for my prescription, wandered into toys, (:confused3 don't know how that happened:confused3) and found everything was 1/2 off clearance! I got Snow White barbie for $4.50 and added to DD3 basket.

Eggs are easy... just use markers instead of dye, it's faster??? I don't know if that's true, I'm just trying to be encouraging.....:flower3:

Seriously, you can do it!!

One year when DS was 5, the Easter Bunny gave him a bike! (very cool Easter Bunny!) and tied the plastic eggs all around the bike, the basket upside down on the seat. The Bunny thought she was very creative! DS was NOT impressed since there was absolutely no candy, just eggs and a bike. ( very UNcool Easter bunny!)
Just saying that bigger is NOT always better. :rolleyes1

GOOD LUCK!! & Happy Easter!!
