Dis Mom's Club?

Is it too late to join this thread? If it is, I understand. I just found these boards not too long ago and have learned so much from everyone.

My name is Stephanie. I have three kids. DD, 7 DS1, 4 and DS2, 2. We are planning our first WDW trip for Sept 2012. We homeschool, so we are planning to go after Labor Day when the schools are back and maybe the rates go down or some deals are offered. We are thinking about trying out the new resort possibly. :confused3

There are just so many things to consider.

Thanks so much. I look forward to "meeting" more of you and helping to keeping this budding obsession at bay. :rotfl2:

Thought I would join in too. I see alot of you are running the Princess half. I'm registered for the Wine and Dine 5k and really looking forward to it. Tomorrow I start week 6 of C25K. I was SHOCKED when I got thru the 20 minute run of week 5. Now I'm thinking maybe I could do the Princess half. My neighbor really wants me to do the Princess with her. Only problem is she can run a half in 1:45.:scared1: NO WAY can I even come close to that. I know Wine and Dine has a relay division. Does anyone know if the Princess does too? I would definitely do it if I could share the distance with someone.

The Princess does not have a relay. That said, it is a great first Half marathon! There is plenty of entertainment and support along the course. Your neighbor could hang back with you and run at your pace if she wants to -- or you could each run your own race and just spend the rest of the time together. You do not need to finish in 1:45! As long as you can keep a 16 min/mile pace, you can do this race!

Just found this thread and joining you. Don't know how I've missed it with all my dissing.

Anyway, I'm Joanne and I love Disney. I'm married to Dave (14 years with a great man) who also loves Disney. We have 2 kids. Jessica who is 11 years old, and Daniel who is 9 months. We have been to Disney twice now and headed back in October for Daniel's first trip.

I'm glad to find other Disney crazy moms.

Can I join you ladies? :lovestruc I am signed up for the Halloween 5K in October and just finished W2D2 of the C25K program. I am STRONGLY considering doing the Princess 1/2 Marathon in 2012. (I still can't believe those words are coming out of my mouth!!!) I am a SAHM to two fabulous kiddos. I just started running, but have been doing Taekwondo 3X a week for about a year and a half. I love it, but it is so totally different from running. I am hoping that I learn to love running too!

I am a HUGE Disney fan, but DH does not really get it. He mentioned that he wanted to run a 1/2 Marathon so I of course suggested the Wine & Dine. He finally agreed and we are going! I decided to run the 5K and the rest is history.

I look forward to getting to know all of you.

My dh does not like Disney at all, and doing a Half was how I got him into going on a regular basis -- at this point he's decided he's done enough (he's done the WDW Marathon Half 3 times and the Full once), so I'm back to going on my own -- but you never know what might come from doing a Half. It has now become dh's hobby, and he's a much more avid runner than I am!

Welcome new folks!!!:cool1:

Thank you!! :) All these posts make me want to do a race. I did a 10K a couple of years ago. I ran about half of it. Of course I was in better shape, but man, if I could convince my husband to let me do one in DW, how awesome would that be? Do I have to bring the kids?? :rotfl:

We are not bringing the kids in October when we go for the Wine & Dine and if I do the Princess I will go by myself and meet friends there. :lovestruc

I'm planning on the Princess Half most likely without the kids. Not sure if DH is going to come. My sister is hopefully going to do it with me.

Not bringing any kidlets for the Princess! Last year I made it all about me, and it was fantastic. I got to go to all the rides and attractions no one else in my family is interested in, eat what I wanted when I wanted it, and generally feel like royalty. I highly recommend it! I wouldn't do that on a regular basis, but one weekend seemed to really be perfect.

Oh and here I was planning on bringing the kiddos, but now I'm rethinking that plan!

Welcome to the new moms!

Thinking of doing the Princess too. Of few girl friends and I our going to make it a girl's weekend. Kiddies stay home w/ Dad. :upsidedow

Off the subject of the Princess 1/2 marathon bc I can discuss it on that thread. When you all got WDW do any of you do the LGMH (lime green Mickey head) to show you are a Dis member? I have seen a Disdad shirt before. Is there Dismom shirt designs?

I have heard about the lime green Mickey heads, but have never done it. I've never seen anyone with one either. I know there have been other Disers there the same time as me.

I'm thinking about making a luggage tag or t-shirt. Of course every time we go I run into people I know.

I did the lime green Mickey heads for our last trip. I had one for our stroller, backpack & camera bag. And I tied them on to each item with lime green ribbon. I never saw anyone else with them. But, it helped me quickly identify my stroller! :rotfl:
