Dis Mom's Club?

Roobug- I am keeping my fingers crossed that your little one responds well to the Tylenol and is back to his usual self in the morning..

Dee, I sent you a PM :) Yes, we've been there with all three kids and the "I hate you" but with Mia I get "I miss my birth mother. I want to go back to China" right along with it. Ouch. The good news is the older ones still love their mom and the little one also says I'm the best mom in the whole world so have faith. It still hurts like crazy though.

Roobug, I hope your little is feeling better and you don't have to go through the cath. Poor little guy :(

Well this has been a sucky day. Started out with the boys having eye dr appointments (they were preemies, and we missed the 6 month appointment, this was the next available that this dr had  it was uneventful, then on the way home Bug started screaming in the car very unusual for him. Got home and he has 104 fever. Gave him tylenol it only went down to 103 - went to the dr and he might have a urinary tract infection but the only way to get a correct diagnosis at this age is to do a cath - so we are going to avoid that for now and wait and see if he gets better. These poor boys never get just a simple cold it's always something major with them.

they actually make special bags to collect at this age. It has an adhesive tape ~ I worked in a pedi office and we did it all the time. Once for my little ZZ.

Ohh, the sun is shining and it is warm! Like 40 which is good for us!!
I love Saturday mornings... DH makes pancakes and we usually just all hang out. This morning I am going to get my hair done and shopping without kids which is not usual for me!:goodvibes

Next Saturday we'll be at my cousin's wedding where DS3 & DD3 are ring bearer & flower girl. The Saturday after that we'll be in Magic Kingdom! Oh, I love Saturday's!

I hope you all have a :sunny: day!

Happy Saturday!! Today I have three portrait sessions to edit, then we're going to DS#1's junior recital. Mia's been promised she can wear her "high heels" (Easter shoes) if she's quiet at Drew's recital. I'm bringing a change of clothes so she knows I mean business.

Tinkermom, we'll be at WDW in two Saturdays as well! 2 days at WL club level, then moving to AKL for our first DVC stay.

What's on everyone else's agenda for today?

Good morning ladies!! :goodvibes

This morning we're cleaning, but we have a birthday party this afternoon. The boys had a rough nigh so we're going to put them down early for a nap and take a nap ourselves so we can all (hopefully) be in a good mood at the party.

I am going to enjoy all the yummy food at the party since today and tomorrow are my last days for that since I start P90X Monday. I watched some of the videos to get an idea of what I will be doing and I'm not going to lie, I'm a little scared. One of the videos is called "Ab Ripper". :scared1:

And in just 5 Saturdays we'll be in the Magic Kingdom!!! :cool1:

Well the day has come and way sooner than I thought it would but today Erin said............ "I hate you!" Twice!!! I was in shock, she's only 3 and a half. She had been jumping on the couch and was warned several times and while I was on a quick call she of course went back and did it again. Well after I hung up I gave her the punishment that I warned her about.. being sent to her room and no TV and that's when it happened. Plus she slammed her bedroom door. She instantly felt bad and of course started saying "no no I love you Mommy" Everything is good now but I can't help but think that this was very upsetting and I think very young to have happened, I thought only teenagers spoke this way. Just wanted to reach out to my dis mom squad for feedback.... Thanks!

You poor thing. That probably broke your heart. So far our little one is broken hearted if we are mad at her but I'm sure those words will soon come. You know they don't mean it, but still.

Just got back from our Give A Day event!! We did trash pick up with the local nature center this morning, the weather was beautiful and the boys didn't complain THAT much!:lmao:

I took my youngest son to the book store to get a present for a friends birthday this afternoon and I ended up buying some stuff for a friends birthday which I'll be mailing to California and I spent way too much. I really, really hate spending money unless it's for a vacation.:confused3

So I have an extra credit assignment to do this weekend for my Intro to Law class and it's keeping track of your time from sun up on Saturday until bed on Sunday. Good grief it's driving me crazy!! :scared1:

Hope everyone is having the same beautiful weather we are today and that you enjoy it!!:flower3:

Hi there! Can I join in the moms club? I too have the Disney bug in me and dh has it too although he tries to hide it:rotfl2:

I am Tonya wife to Tim and mom to Sierra 12 and Ty 10. Our last Disney trip was in June 2008 and we stayed at All Star Movies. We have also stayed at Pop in 2006. We really like the value resorts (since that is all we really know;))

Hey, ladies!!

We haven't had the "i-hate-you" attitude yet either ... I so remember saying that to my dad when I was about 12 years old. And totally regretting it. Actually, now that I remember, I didn't say it -- I wrote it in a note for him!:rotfl2:

So, yeah, it's coming someday for me, too.

I swear my 4.5 year old has just become soooooo much harder to deal with in the last month. Everything, everything seems to be cause for defiance! Even going to someplace she really wants to go. I'm really getting tired of it ...

Being a mom is seriously crimping my ideas that I had it all together! :rotfl2::rotfl::lmao:

For those contemplating DVC, here is a little quiz I prepared to help you in your decision. It doesn't address everything but if you can say yes to all these questions, then you may want to look more seriously at DVC.

Just PM me if you have any questions. We bought at SSR in 2007, added on at AKV the same year and again at AKV in 2009. Our only complaint is not having bought sooner and not having enough points -- so we added on twice. (but of course I'd love to add on even more points!!)

===============================

Will you go to Disney every 1-3 years? (Remember you can go anywhere in the world but the best use of your points is through Disney)

Do you enjoy the Deluxe resorts? (if a room is just a place to stay, then DVC is not for you...stay at a Value resort or priceline a hotel on I-drive)

Do you need/want the extra space? (Best value IMO is a 1br with a full kitchen, separate living area, washer/dryer, jacuzzi tub, etc)

Do you want a kitchen/WD? (we like to eat breakfast in the room, have cold water/soda, snacks, even bake choc chip cookies, etc. We don't cook full meals yet. We do a load of laundry each morning before going to the park and dry it when we come back. With two small kids, this is a god-send ... also means we pack less luggage.)

Can you afford the extra costs? (Initial Cost of $15K-20+K, annual Maintenance Fees and costs for tickets, air, food, souvenirs, etc. You are going more often so costs actually increase -- but you never pay for a room again and you get great discounts on tix, restaurants, tours, etc)

Can you plan your vacations in advance? (preferably NLT 7 months. Although you can make a vacation at almost any time, if you can plan 7-11 months in advance, you'll have a better chance to get exactly the resort, days and view you want.)

Can you track/organize your points? (Just a little on-line/paper work to make sure you don't lose any points)

I definitely think that DVC if for us. Just not until we straighten away our money pit rental property. *sigh* another $1,000 this weekend to fix the flooding issue that the CITY created by pumping out a ravine into the road ~ which ran down the road and right down the driveway in to the garage attached to the house.

Hmm that's good to know - although our pedi said it had to be by cath??? If we get in that situation tomorrow I will ask if there is another way. He still has the high fever, and is miserable. It's no fun. Thankfully Monkey is as happy as can be though.

I had a multipules sale this morning - so we had to pack up all our used baby stuff and the boys into the car and get everything over there. Poor bug was miserable, and not many people showed up. I was hoping to use the money for my DH's birthday. Blah it's his 50th and I wanted to do something really neat. Ahh well.

Sorry I couldn't give you more information the other day I was typing one handed.

It was basically a bag that narrowed at the top and the whole top opening had a double sided padded tape that could be pressed around the area. For us it was our DD. Perhaps they prefer the cath because this was a wait and see kind of thing and we just hung out in the office for a while until there was enough of a specimen to test. I am guessing the cath is much faster ~ but way less comfortable for a little one.

It is referred to as a bag collection.

Good Morning!

We didn't do much of anything yesterday. DH did homework most of the day and then hung out with the kiddos.

We got SSR for our May trip and I was wondering if any of you have stayed there and what was your favorite area?
Marshay~ I saw that this was your home resort, where would you recommend requesting? We will be doing a DTD/ pool day, but will have our own van.

TIA!

Good Morning- my in-laws own at SSR and treated us to our first Disney trip in Nov 2008. They love to stay in the Grand Stand area because it is the first stop on the bus route. It also was not a long walk to the main pool and dining areas etc. Have a great trip, it is a really beautiful resort.

Hmm for SSR it really depends what is important to you!

If you haven't stayed there before you may not know ~ this resort is HUGE!

The Springs is Closest to the Pool and Main Bus Stop.

If you want to walk to Downtown Disney then Congress Park is your best bet.

We stayed in The Springs which was great and we also stayed at the Carousel. Which was FAR from everything. They even bused us over after we checked in. It was our first stay and we didn't know any better. So the next time we asked for The Springs and that worked out perfect for us.

Using the Pool is always important because the girls LOVE to swim.

Suellen is right, it all depends on what is most important to you and your family since it is such a huge resort. I'll clarify my point from earlier, having a seat on the buses on the way to the parks is important to my in-laws. As for the way back from the parks, they appreciate the Grand Stand area since they aren't forced to travel all the stops of the resort with tired grandchildren etc. There's a lot of variety, I hope you get what works out best for your family.

Thanks Girls! DH and I stayed there 1 night when we first bought into DVC and no rooms were available at AKV. Being close to a kid-friendly pool is probably one of the most important things... We are playing with the idea of driving to the parks since we'll have our own van, and may be using the buses if we want to go back for a couple of hours for lunch. :confused3

I guess I shall join the thread as well. Recently single mom of 4, I work as a Labor & Delivery nurse, and I love Disney. We tend to go 2-4 times per year but at the moment we are taking an 18 month hiatus before buying AP's again. We have been DVC members at the BWV's since 1999. Stayed at all deluxe and villa resorts except- GF and SSV, have stayed at all the mod except CSR, and have stayed at the All Star Sports. We've used the regular dining plan and the deluxe but have not used the QS.

Glad to be here.
